A little joy: World Wide Band. Interest thread.

The joy that music has to offer is limitless. Just as I was about to start to write this thread I noticed that someone has also come up which much the same idea. However their's is for a festival and mine for A World Wide Concert Band.

It could be of any genre rock, jazz, big band, even classical if there is a demand. Of course we need many Nations to put foward their best (and only the best) legends of music to join the band. Please include the information needed about your artists,

Types of Venue capacities they are filling out in recent tours:
Label:
Discography: (most memorable works/ preformances)

Comments: (ideas, etc your musician wishes to make. Also any demands needed before they get accepted)

Also we are looking for Nations to host the band, and as we know many nations have World Class concert halls and they must be able to do this world class band justice. Of course there is a money incentive, from ticket sales etc. We do need many nations as this will have to be a resonably big world tour.

Please look beyond the alliances that have already been drawn between us. Even if a nation you are at war with has signed on, do not shy away from putting foward your musicians. We hope this can be a chance to showcase the brillaince of the World's greatest musicians on one stage, in one band.

We also need to discuss ideas for what music to play, we can play covers of classics or if your nation has a particularly distinguised composer it would be an honour if they would write a piece for this special occasion.

OOC:Remember your musicians can be of any genre of music, be inventive!

OOC: So we are putting forward a band, or a member? Surely if just a member this is going to be hugely conflicting. A reggae bassist, punk lead guitarist, metal drummer and pop singer? You see where Im coming from.

Yes, and I have thought over this issue. This is why we need the best, we need people who can change and would be willing to try out new areas of study. I mean most professional musicians don't just know how to play one type of music. Also the band would just be part of one genre so depending on what type of musicians we attract we can play different types of music. It's all a bit experimental. Obviously an 18 year old wannabe punk bassist isn't the type we are looking for. However punk bassists are more than welcoming if they are willing to be part of a more varied team.

Ah right, I get what you are trying to do. But of course that would render the categories of capacity and discography meaningless. Correct me if Im wrong by all means but thats how I see it.

Now...

Name: Unidad Revolucionaria
Style: Hip-hop
History: Unidad Revolucionaria was formed in the slums of Santa Miguela in 1994, during the UN occupation phase of the Tejano Civil War. The guy who founded it was Armando Võ, an ex-EPT fighter who was wounded in a fight between UN Peacekeepers and the EPT. He never bothered to go back to the EPT, instead forming one of the many rap groups that sprang up during the civil war. While most fell off after the UN withdrew in 1997, Võ's group managed to stay in the game, and have been one of the mainstays of the Tejano rap scene since.

Cotenshire
19-11-2006, 20:36
Name: I am Sir Giacomo Alvise
Style: Late Classical, I suppose
History: My father, one of King William IV’s most trusted advisors, introduced me to the harpsichord when I was only two years old. I developed a love for music and it was all I have ever done. Being of such a noble family, I was able to study under the masters, such as Crouch and Francesco. At age six, I wrote an overture that on it’s first performance at the Royal Opera received a standing ovation. As my professional career progressed, I have wrote many concertos, symphonies, and even operas. When I was only 22, I became the court composer under King William V, the youngest person to ever fill the position.
Types of Venue capacities they are filling out in recent tours: Honestly, I have never actually bothered to find this out, although the Royal Opera House has a capacity of just over 4,000, and it fills up every day.
Label: The what now?
Most Memorable Works/Performances: I perform for the King several times per week, so if importance of performances are a criteria on which members of this ensemble are judged, then I am hands down the best.
Awards recieved: Royal Court Composer of the Court of William Salisbury V, for 8 years now, 12 time winner of the Harrogate Musical Academy Award for Excellence in Musical Performance
Age: 30
Comments: If the position of harpsichord for this ensemble has not already been taken, I would like that. I have been able to master every instrument that I have encountered, though, so I am very flexible in this regard.
The Horde Of Doom
19-11-2006, 21:03
Name: Yorviz Talamadu
Style: Electronika, Martial Pop, Esoteric/Occult Vocals
History: Yorviz is the best known vocalist in all the Horde. His haunting voice and look allowed him to raise from Veltiz Monastary to national fame. Yorviz is a Chaos Cultist and is known for his rituals on stage. He has sacrificed people, summoned demons, and even levitated to the delight of his fans. His first single Awaken Beltdirxix was accused of bringing the infamous Black plague onto the Horde. His second single Hymns to the Aztec Demons predated the Horde-Pythagorian war by only 3 hours. But his biggest single of all has to be his third, Dark Age Now! After only a week of being released, the Horde's government collapsed and rendered it into the state it is now.
Types of Venue capacities they are filling out in recent tours: 6 million
Label: None
Discography: Awaken Beltdirxix, Hymns to the Aztec Demons, Dark Age Now!, Cthuhlu Ftghan, Your Soul Is Mine, World in Pieces, Kraven's Abortion, Automagwhatnow?, JEWPOWER!, Esoterica, March to Moscow, Tejan Crackpipe Blues, You Are My Bank Account, Death To All
Awards recieved: Greatest Artist of the Horde, Medal of Savagery(Service in Civil War), Prophet of the Chaos Gods
Age: 30
Comments: Yorviz simply wants to make sure this band will be testing the limits, and hopes his bandmates won't backdown from challenging the status quo...or invoking the spirit of Khorne into thier fans.

Haraki
19-11-2006, 21:06
I'll bite.

Name: The Assault Rifles
Style: Political Punk Rock
History: Formed eight years ago by four friends in high school, they became local celebrities in the music scene in the port city of Arkia, where they lived, and began opening for much bigger-name bands within two years of forming. By three years it was a full-time occupation for all four musicians. Their first full-length album was two years in, and since then they have put out three more and are working on a fifth, each even more scathingly critical of world politics than the last. Uninterested in making money, they have not signed to a major record company and most of their shows, even now that they are probably the most famous punk band in all Haraki, still cost around $10. They founded their own 'record label', Broken Records, three years ago, using their fame and what money they have to sign local bands they think have potential. They are known as good judges of talent.
Venue capacities: Most recent tour: All shows were sold out, venues between 6,000 and 14,000 tickets sold.
Label: Broken Records
Discography:
1999: [LP] The Assault Rifles
2000: [Full] The Assault Rifles ... Go to the Moon
2001: [LP] Out of the Mouths of Enemies
2001: [LP] Imperial Empire
2002: [Full] Nuclear Bombs
2004: [Full] Suburban Holmes
2004: [Live] Didn't These Guys Die or Something?
2005: [Full] We Hate You For Not Taking Action!
2007: [Full, Working On] Nothing Less Than Annihilation
Awards recieved: (All from the yearly Harakian Punk Awards, a by-the-people-for-the-people punk rock award ceremony)
Angriest Band (2004; 2005)
Best Punk Rock Album of the Year (Nuclear Bombs, 2002; We Hate You For Not Taking Action, 2005)
Best Message (2005)
Best Song (Fields of Pain, off Nuclear Bombs, 2002; Suburban Holmes, off Suburban Holmes, 2004)
Best Use of Instruments (2000; 2001; 2004; 2005)
Best Punk Rock Band (2002; 2005)
Best Harakian Punk Rock Band (2001; 2002; 2004; 2005)
Note that the 2006 awards have not been conducted yet, but the Assault Rifles are most likely to be nominated in numerous categories.
Age: Band: 8 years.
Musicians: (Bassist 26), (Lead Guitar 27), (Rhythm Guitar, Vocals 26), (Drums 26)
Comments: "We'd like to take part in this. Not because of the prestige or the corporate fucking sponsors or any money or anything, but because we want to get out there, make our message heard, and let as many people as possible see our shows and hear what we have to say. That's what it's all about, is letting the kids listen to and enjoy the music. So we say, hell yeah, we'll take part. Show the kids what punk rock's all about, let them hear it for themselves instead of getting a bad image of it from their parents, or their stuffy friends."

Merrytonville
23-11-2006, 04:53
Name: The Simple Rabbits
Style: Mostly Hard Core Lyres and Flutes, but we are flexible and can play numerous styles with the right incentive
History: Six years ago, the band started to play for the Queen's grandchildren, who were so incredibly entertained by them, that Queen Merryton formally declared them as the country's own private musical group. From then on, The Simple Rabbits were featured on our local television and radio stations. As they say, the rest is history.
Types of Venue capacities they are filling out in recent tours: They perform at our annual music festival in front of the entire nation. I'd say somewhere between 300 and 316 people at one time.
Label: Merrytonville Records
Discography: Recently, they toured The Grand Duchy of the Dandelion People. Their latest record (only 2 in existence) is called Timbrels and Other Flutey Sounds.
"Cymbals and Pipes"--hit the charts at #2 for the last three weeks
Awards Received: none so far. The royal grandchildren give them 2 thumbs up.
Age: Robbie (the floutist) is 37 and a half years old; Benji (the cymbalist) is almost the big 4-0; Meegan (the lyrist) refuses to comment on this topic.
Comments: The Simple Rabbits said, "We would consider it an honor--a great honor--to perform in a worldwide concert. We would consider it a dishonor--a great dishonor--to not perform. Music is our life."

Merrytonville would also love to host the concert. Please keep us in mind.

The Horidan Gladitorial Arena is a venue Yorviz has played many times, and we make it avialable to you. It can hold up to 6 million people. Yorviz also has written a song for the band.

Many years ago today
Something grew inside of your mother
That thing was YOU!

You! You! You! You! You!
Did she scream? Did she cry?
Only those that are born are ones that get to die!

One more year closer to dying
Body organs ripping, frying
Biological discordance
Birthday equals self-abhorance
R S V P Please
For the death of me
You have little time
You're running out of life
Happy Birthday. You're gonna die!

Die-Die! Deth-day!
Birth-day, Deth-day
Die-die, Deth-day
Birth-day, Deth-day!
Die-die, Deth-day
Birth-day, Deth-day!

Title: The Dominion of Chaos
On the last day of Chao's creation
Blood will flow from stone
Earthquakes will destroy Your nation
AAnd flood will follow fire
To wash away the stains
So finally nd swallow the king's throne
It can rest in peace
Now nothing of man remains

In the dominion of Chaos
The dominion of Chaos

Now time was man's invention
For regulating his ways
But time has lost its meaning
In cities of eternal days
Ang every city became Godom
Man bore the mark of Cain
Until Chaos raised atomic fire
Now nothing of man remains

In the dominion of Chaos
The dominion of Chaos

Now the last traces fade away
Of It's creation gone wrong
Kappas return to the river
And Cthuhlu sings his ocean song
Demons roam in the mountains
And ghouls roam the plains
Dragons fly in freedom
Now nothing of man remains

In the dominion of Chaos
The dominion of Chaos

Let silence be the music
That settles on the Earth
And thunder be the rhythm
That drowns man's last words
And let melody be the sound
Of the wind and the lashing rain
Blowing away man's harmonies
Until nothing of him remains

In the dominion of Chaos
The dominion of Chaos

So nothing of man remains
In the Dominion of Chaos
The Dominion of Chaos

Title: Hymn to the Black Sun
I shine bright and shed light from afar
93 million miles to be explicit
8 light minutes if you're planning a visit
See I'm the big daddy and this is his system
My turn to burn so keep on listening
I give light when all around is dark
Your choice get sparked or mark my remarks
See ice couldn't hold me back
I fall through forty feet in one minute flat
Meet a solar controller, 'cause that what I was meant to be
'Cause I was a mystery
Decade is null
Decade is null!

(It's hot, it's hot, it's very hot)

(It's bright, it's bright, it's very bright)

Decade is null, decade is null, decade is null
Check it out while I burn your skull

Decade is null

Hold and praise your nearest superstar
I shine bright and shed light from afar
93 million miles to be explicit
8 light minutes if you're planning a visit
See I'm the big daddy and this is his system
My turn to burn so keep on listening
I give light when all around is dark
Your choice get sparked or mark my remarks
Decade is null, decade is null, decade is null
Check it out while I burn your skull

Decade is null, decade is null

From one to all, hear this poem and
Try to understand the greatest power known to man
Am I a nuclear bomb, I'm that I make you look like a firecracker
Alpha and Omega, beginning and end
How can you claim I ain't God, my friend
My atomic magnitude is explosive
I could keep a planet in motion or roast it!
Decade is null, decade is null, decade is null
Check it out while I burn your skull

I emit energy, over all wavelengths
From x-rays to radio waves
Being the most dominant body of the Solar System
I am the Earth Star

Hold and praise your nearest superstar

I shine bright and shed light from afar

93 million miles to be explicit
8 light minutes if you're planning a visit

See I'm the big daddy and this is his system

My turn to burn so keep on listening

I give light when all around is dark
Your choice get sparked or mark my remarks

See ice couldn't hold me back

I fall through forty feet in one minute flat

Meet a solar controller, 'cause that what I was meant to be

'Cause I was a mystery

Chain of carbon-nitrogen
Witness the power of chains

Everything dies in fiery heat
Everything dies in fiery heat

Everything dies in fiery heat
Everything dies in fiery heat... of the sun

I emit energy, over all wavelengths
From x-rays to radio waves
Being the most dominant body of the Solar System
I am the Earth Star

Mankind has endured many catastrophies, but none so great as the one
which faces it today. The economic crisis past the gate has brought
inflation, imbalance and chaos to the every corner of the globe. Some label

Title: Apology
Seit wann, Soehne der Wahrheit, seid ihr Brueder der Nacht?
Was hat eure Haende blutrot gemacht?

Der Ausbruch in der Nacht ist die Bluete des Leids,
mit ihr kann nichts entschuldigt sein.
Nicht zerschlagen laesst sich der Luegenaltar, der Altar
der die Form vervielfacht immerdar.

Unbeflecktes Bildnis, Lichter ohne Pein,
schauriger Naechte Schutz allein

Haraki
26-11-2006, 02:38
As one of Haraki's most popular bands is involved in this, four Harakian theatres have presented themselves as venues for a four-show tour of the most densely populated parts of Haraki. The four cities involved are in the cities of Arkia, Uses, Atherlon, and Kiros in that order over the span of one week. The four theatres hold anywhere from 12,000 to 27,000 people in them.

Also, in the interest of keeping things fair, instead of using their own songs as those submitted for the band's use, the Assault Rifles have written two new songs for its use. both songs were written for the final instrumentation of the supergroup.

"There's Nothing Left" by the Assault Rifles

(Filler words that I don't feel like writing right now)

More like their regular songs, this song is fast and hard with driving orchestral backing. The lyrics detail the state of the world in which new, more devastating weapons of war are invented every day, and how in the aftermath of the use of these weapons nothing is left. Although no weapons are named specifically, strong references are made to the effects of hydrogen bombs and nerve gas.

And an instrumental song, "Interlude".

Longer than any other song ever performed by them, the song is just over five minutes long. Slow, sweeping orchestral music with complicated piano parts over it dominate the first two minutes, with the other instruments providing mainly quiet background or lasting chords. Around two minutes, the song picks up, with the guitars and bass picking up the volume and the orchestra and piano speeding up and growing louder and faster, the sounds fleshing together to form one driving melody with subtle harmonies thrown in and the background orchestra playing faster and faster. This carries on for two minutes as, essentially, the rock instruments go crazy and the orchestra keeps making their sound more and more furious. At four minutes, the rock instruments abruptly finish their phrase and cut off, and the orchestra resumes the theme from the first two minutes. The rock instruments come back in quietly, getting louder, more furious, and more complex over the last minute, as the orchestra joins them, blending the first melody into the second fast and hard melody seamlessly, finishing at 5:21 with a blazing crescendo to all instruments playing very loudly and holding one final triumphant chord.

Yorviz would be interested in writing lyrics for Interlude, perhaps turning it into a hymn to the sex god?

Ok I have made the nessecary changes to the lists in the post, I will also move this to the front of the thread for reference use. We are almost ready to take the band on the road, we need a slightly bigger repetoire though, so get writing, or suggest decent covers.

There will also be a three night run at the Venoire Arena in the Freeland of Duckquackmuse, which holds 2million people. Suggested covers:

Yellow Submarine, The Beatles (we are going for the best loved songs)
Adaption of Mozarts Eine Kleine Nactmusik
Back in Black, AC/DC.

Obviously the Head of the Ministry of Music ( Simon Wallamaker) of Duckquackmuse will adapt these tunes to fit all the intruments in the SuperGroup.

One problem: We still don't have a name for our group. Suggestions?
