Nations of the world, I am here today under grave circumstances. It has come to my attention that the cowards of Ackistan have launched a nuclear assault upon The Transylvania, a resident and brother of Gholgoth. I will not waste my breath with a long and flowery speech condemning this atrocious act, so I will cut to the chase.

As protector and founder of Gholgoth, I hereby state that our regional brotherhood is now in a state of war with the Ackistani heathens. Each Gholgothian may determine their level of military action, and nuclear retalliaton is authorized.

Know that Gholgoth and those who flock to its banner will never tolerate actions such as these. Know that fools have been exterminated in the past for lesser offenses against us, and know that our vengeance will be swift and without mercy.

To those who are allied with Ackistan, I urge you to mind yourself and your actions. I will not hesitate to trample every last nation who comes to the aid of these coward bastards, and your attempts to stay our wrath will be in vain. Save yourself the time and the risk of annihilation.

Freekish forces that have been on alert for several weeks due to the conflict in Southeast Asia will be diverted to deal with this matter. I will see to it that Ackistan suffers endlessly for this atrocity, because the radiation they have unleased upon Transylvania will surely spill into our regional holdings. Ackistan has made a terrible mistake, and retribution will dealt out with a ruthless iron fist.

Within a half hour of the transmission going public, Freekish ships under the command of Warchief Zander took to the seas from their military outposts abroad. Though Dreadfire had been gearing up for a second assault upon the Kraven menace, he would not think twice about coming to the aid of a Gholgothian. Word had also been passed onto Freekish High Command that all HOUND V2 tubes were to be placed on standby should Ackistan dare to fire another missile.

Word had also been passed onto Gholgothian military commanders that regional forces should leave port in no less than 12 hours and embark for Ackistan and all foreign holdings of theirs. Meanwhile, Damien sat down with his aides and began plotting a massive regional aid package to assist Transylvania in clean up and rebuilding.

Encrpyted message to all Gholgothian forces:

"My army has been at the Freekish military base 'Outpost Epsilon' for several weeks in preparation for an attack on The Kraven Corporation. However, I have been ordered to lead the Automagfreek assault on Ackistan. Damien. I understand completely your reasons for declaring war on Ackistan. What they have done is not only wrong, but suicidal. Normally, I would support you full-heartedly. But this situation is special to us.

Ackistan, before this, was a very reasonable country, one that we thought could be a useful, and smart ally. We made a mistake putting so much trust into this nation, and we are at least partially to blame for this mess.

We want to fix our mistake. We have special operation troops heading into the country, to commit a regime change. This doesn't fix what has happened, of course, but we feel we can stop this from happening in the future with a chellian installed puppet government.

Please. As a favor to us, not that we are particularly owed one, but still. Don't obliterate the nation. Many of our allies are in his region, and nuclear warfare could harm them, and our own people in the region. OOC: Each missile is outfitted with one medium yield neutron warhead, designed to take a serious bite out of military and industrial sites around Ackistan, but keep areas outside the strike zones free from radiation.

The saddest loss is of the Dominion-Clandonian space station killing several hundread men from both countries. Much of the equipment is currently falling onto Nova Europa we are unable to stop the failing of orbits of these systems or alter the position.

In brief, hastily squelched news reports across the Panteran homeland and in their numerous holdings abroad, hundreds of Ackistani tourists, travelers and those suspected of having Ackistani ties have been siezed and possibly imprisoned. This, coupled with anti-Ackistan sentiment suddenly skyrocketing on Panteran radio and television, bodes well for massive support within Pantera, as well as the Gholgothan region as a whole.

Trivalvia is also opening its borders to any Ackistani refugees, although it is screening refugees in the event any Ackistani national government members or strategic military commanders attempt to escape into the country, with the intent of arresting such people and trying them for crimes against humanity. Trivalvian military forces have been placed on alert.

The Trivalvian legislature is in session, debating the nature of humanitarian aid to Transylvania and Ackistan, post-bombardment, as well as what action if any should be taken with regards to AMF's involvement. On the latter, it is suspected that the government will simply issue a condemnation, rather than attempt to engage AMF militarily.

IC: The Dominion survived the attacks from the terrorists of Ackistan and the Count watched as Clandonian nuclear attacks hit Ackistan’s land. He did ordered them not to be used, but he will let it go. He was close to order the Dominion’s nuclear weapons to attack.

He got reports that a good piece of land of the Dominion was out of power, but they can get that back up. He order the near military officers to move into those area to make sure everything is okay.

Then he was about to address the world again.

He looked at the camera and watched the red light come on.

“Hello again from the Dominion. The Dominion has survived another coward attacked from Ackistan. But power has been loss in Wolfingrad, Wolfsburg, and the north-east European state of Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, some part of Poland and some parts of Russia that touched those lands. I got reports that Clandonian nukes will wipe out the terrorist or most of the country. I’m sorry for the civilians that have died today because of one coward that could not fight like a man.” said the Count.

“To the rest of the world, I will be traveling to the area of the Dominion has been attacked by he weapons of a coward. I want to see the damage with my own eyes,” he said, “To anybody that survived the Clandonian attack and other attacks, you will be ordered to stand down and surrender to the forces of my Gholgoth brother, Automagfreek forces. Damien, that lands are yours to deal with.”

With the message was cut and the Count moved to see the damage in person.

It was the government of Ackistan that authorised this strike, and it is the government you should be trying to punish, not the people. True, the Ackistani government did authorise the killing of civilians, but doing the same in return is not justice -- you are only stooping to the same level as the Ackistanis. (And don't say you weren't going to kill any civilians, I think we know you by now, Damien.)

Admittedly, the nations you do go around removing from existence are worthy targets: we wanted as much as you did to see the Kraven Corporation vanquished, or GDODAD, or the Fascist White States. However, going about showing off your masculinity by killing insane numbers of innocent people to remove the government of such a nation from power seems kinda... well... irrational. (Although at the time of all of these we were a smaller and much less powerful nation with but a handful of staunch allies, so we could not risk speaking out; that is why we have not moved to speak until now.)

When your forces reach Ackistan we wonder if the population that is left could be handed over to the Dominion Commonwealth so they can be used in the rebuilding work. I'm sure some sort of deal can be arranged you keep the land we enslave the population.

"Okay, you've convinced me. How many does Adam have training?"

"He claims to have six thousand completed training, plus another four due to finish this week. Those ten thousand are the test, like a full Dragoon division. If they perform well, then I just might be submitting a proposal pretty soon to assign a lot more of our forces to his Dragoon training."

"Do it, Randy. Send them in. Six now, four when they're done. With a fleet. And as soon as we know a landing zone, I want about ten thousand Trebuchets to start raining down on it and everything around it. No civilian targets, though. We're not barbarians."

Kidd left. He left to order the mobilization of Shartz's Dragoons, the withdrawal of Shartz from command of Okielahoman forces, and to order the standby of twenty thousand ten-minute-readiness Trebuchet missiles. Within five minutes of co-ordinates being chosen for a landing zone, either for Harakian Dragoons or for fellow Gholgothian troops of any nation, ten thousand of them would launch and rain devastation down on their targets.

It was going to be a bloody day.










OOC: Trebuchet missiles are cruise missiles which, after launch, rapidly climb to over seventy kilometres above sea level, cruise to their target like that, and strike nearly vertically, many times the speed of sound. With seventy kilometres of speed to rack up combined with their missile engine, they gather a lot of speed. Once they're moving down, they're nearly impossible to stop, and they travel too high for nearly all radar to detect them, let alone for anti-aircraft and anti-missile emplacements to destroy them. They strike with an equivalent warhead to that on a Tomahawk missile (450 kg) but with massive amounts of force as well thanks to the speed they travel at, making them penetrate just about anything if detonation is delayed or stopped. Also, even if destroyed on the way down by whatever, they still leave bits of debris which will strike their target anyway.

Essentially, they're much like a ballistic missile, but do not actually enter orbit and therefore are not detected by many orbit-trajectory-based ABM systems, as well as flying high enough that conventional radar is all-but useless. And they don't carry nuclear weapons.

In a surprising newscasts, Chairman Aszenmil let the world know that he'll be allowing any Ackistani citizens, diplomats and military staff currently in the country to form a goverment in exile.

General Nora Kasagawa, veteran of the Freekish war and current Minister of Defense, sat behind her desk as a tall, imposing man from Kahanistanian Military Intelligence entered her office to speak to her.

"Defense Minister. A large number of nuclear missiles have been fired at the nation of Ackistan, retaliation for a nuclear attack on Transylvania that killed over 200 million citizens."

Jesus... 200 million... That was roughly the same number of casualties Kahanistan had suffered in its own war with AMF, though many estimates placed the death toll as high as 300 million. Finally, the Defense Minister spoke.

"Do you believe we could intercept the missiles with a nuclear missile of our own, destroy most of the missiles in flight, General Kaselev?"

The intelligence general shook his head. "By the time our missiles arrive, the Gholgoth missiles would have already struck. With our navy trapped by the Kraven forces, we can't even get a relief mission underway. Besides, I'd hate to have the Freeks think we launched against them."

"Very well..." said the Minister. "I'll talk to the President, you can talk to the Foreign Ministry about what we'll do."

Six hours later, a message was broadcasted from Kahanistan to all involved powers.

The Almighty People's Republic of Samtonia most assidiously condemns the craven attacks upon the nation of Transylvania. The deliberate nucelar devestation of a nation within the Gholgoth region is an act beyond rationality, verging in the realm of the clinically insane.

The APRS wholeheartedly supports any punitive measures undertaken by any nations of Gholgoth and warns any and all foreign nations who are taking in refugees that any attempt whatsoever to allow high-ranking government or military officials a safe haven in your country will bem et with full froce, as is deemed appropriate and necessary, by the armed forces of not only the APRS but the entire region of Gholgoth.

IC: Hane surveyed the hologram screens. According to other Gholgothian satellites, Ackistan was currently blinding any direct-image capture from the glass reflecting the sun's rays. He smiled. This was a chance for opportunity, while everyone else sent their deepest sorrows and regrets; Barbarosea would seize the day and capitalize on the destruction! Hane's mind began wander; he envisioned taking Barbarosea to new heights never before thought possible by this long dormant nation. He-refocused his view on the panel in his hand. He wondered what to do now. He hadn't really been ready for rule, but when opportunity presents itself, one must take it with an iron grip. That was how he had been taught from his childhood. Nevertheless, he must rule now. He paced the foreign office, a bead of sweat dropped without a sound to the carpet floor. His brow was furrowed with deep thought. It was a risky move, to be sure, but was it a bold move, or a traitor's move? Moreover, was he a traitor already?

The last of the sun's rays had set for the moment. This far north, and you never had a true night and day, but just cycles of sunrise and sunset. 66th Cleanup Division, as they had called themselves, were waiting for an order. That order was to come from Hane. He flicked on his local power output monitor. Electricity had always amused him. He watched the hertz move in a wave on his screen. The fluidness of it calmed him some. He began to doze somewhat. In his half-sleep, he began to see images that were not there. He saw his late father, his glorified uncle. He saw Fredrick Barbarosea II, one of the nation’s greatest rulers ever. He saw a cat with fiery red eyes. It was his old cat, phoenix as they had called him.

He then started to see things that were strange. He saw a car moving slowly. He saw a little boy run out in front of it, but a ways down the road. To his horror, the car did not stop, nor speed up. It simply kept going. The boy seemed to not notice the car, and was retrieving a ball. Hane grimaced as the car slowly ran over the boy, snapping his spinal column and many vertebrae. The child looked like he was crying out in pain, but no sound came, as he was dead, neck shattered into tiny fragments of bone. Hane tried to arouse himself, but it did not help. He saw the car stop with the front tires just past the boy’s body. The car door opened, and he saw a tall, dark, masked figure get out. The figure bent down and looked under the car. He reached his long arm out and pulled the boy free from the wreckage. He held the boy in his arms, and he looked remorseful. But-then he took the boys body, and set it down upon the pavement. He grabbed the boys head while he pinned the body to the ground with his large mass. He ripped the boys head almost all the way off, and then turned it around, so his face would be on the pavement. He got up, and stomped down as hard as he could on the boy’s chest, crushing the boy’s ribcage and chest cavity. Blood spewed everywhere, covering the robed figure with red splotches.

The figure raised his hand to his face, and licked the blood clean. Satisfied, he turned and walked back to the car. He re-entered the car, and began to drive away. As the car was pulling out of view, the man rolled down his window, and spat upon the boy’s broken body.

Hane literally jumped from his chair in a cold sweat. His neck felt cold, the dried sweat hadn't reacted well with the air-conditioning in the room. He looked around frantically for some sign of the man or of a car. He saw none. He did see however his clock. He had been asleep for almost 2 hours. Slowly, he turned to sit back down at his desk. As he sat in the hovering chair, something caught his eye. He looked at the picture of him and his family sitting on his desk. A dark figure was standing directly behind his youngest son in the picture. He reflexively threw the picture into the wall across from his desk. Terrified, he started to shake uncontrollably as he stood up. The lights in the office were in a dimmed state, so the edges of his vision were veiled in black. He walked over to the picture frame, now shattered on the floor. He turned the picture over, but the black robed figure was not present this time. He calmed himself, and went to sit back down. He thought about what to do now with the 66th. He seemed to not be having the internal battle he was having before about the issue. Something inside of him told him to let them go. He typed up the order, and sent it via light to the commander of the squad. As he slumped in his chair, overcome with fatigue, he began to slip into sleep again. Just as he entered a sleeping state, his door opened.

Where is it coming from? I know of no other RL nation that throws away about a twelfth of its GDP on foreign aid, especially when that GDP is only barely above the poverty line for its citizens ($25,000? To be reasonably prosperous in a democratic society the minimum is about $32,000; in a totalitarian society, $26,000 is about the line. I've calculated these.)

In the aftermath of the nuclear retaliation on Ackistan, the Trivalvian government stopped attempting to screen for Ackistani government and military leaders. One judge put it succinctly: "There's no evidence left, it's all gone now. And there's no point in trying to hang anyone. Just too many people have died for it to matter."

The Trivalvian legislature has approved an aid package to Transylvania - Over 75 billion tridollars will be spent to ship food and medicine to the devastated areas.
