Medieval Interest Thread

The Year is 1087. The fate of Europe stands on the edge of a knife. Conflict rises and overflows in the Catholic Kingdoms of the West while the Byzantine Empire struggles against the growing push of Islam to the East. It is only a matter of time before these two mighty religions will encounter one another, and it appears that the Papacy has a plan. But none can be sure what exactly will happen when the two titans actually come toe to toe. It is in this world that we now stand, ready to decide the fate of Europe, nay, the world.
I'm looking to start up a Medieval thread from basically two years before the Crusades onwards. Nations/Empires will be given out on a first come, first serve basis but I reserve the right to hold any nations from inexperienced roleplayers.
Well, whose up for it?

Norway please.
Norway please.
I think Norway (and Iceland) will be the two most boring nations to play during this RP. No offence, but at that time Norwegians were more conserned with waging war agains each other to even notice that there were a crusade going on.
Kingdom of Morocco, please.
Ruler: Yusuf ibn Tashfin.
The Almoravids were very expansive during this time and Tashufin was a great leader/general. It's not too much of a stretch to expand their interests toward the east and working with or against the Fatamids. Maybe increase their part of the rampant raiding everywhere....

True, I doubt I'll be very interested in the Crusading portion; however, Norway is certainly not in a state of civil war, and was actually in a quite peaceful period during this time (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Olav_Kyrre). I'm interested in continuing the spread of Christianity, and possibly foring union with Iceland/Greenland; maybe even a further foray into North America, eventually.
Also, since France, England, and Germany are already taken, there's not too much else of interest in northwestern Europe without going to minor players.

Yes I know there were not open war. But at the time (and the next following centuries) the crowns sat loose on ones head. Even thought there were not fought big battles with differente persons claiming the thrown the king needed to use all his forces to keep his crown. But as said there were no open battles fought conserning the thrown so you will probebly be free to RP the period as you like. With rebelius rivals who want the thrown or with nice pesants who don't care.
(I am Norwegian. I base my facts on what I have learned in History class).
last I wil just opoint out that if this realy is Christianity VS Musslims then we need some muslim claims. Anyone up for it?
And one more thing. I don't have a spell check at the moment. I am weary sorry.

See my post above, Kingdom of Morocco. But we do need more Muslim countries...

Ah, so this is completely based on the Crusades, and not overall Medieval? Perhaps I should rethink my choice then.
No need for just Crusades, though that is an obvious choice. If it's to be Christians vs Muslims, Spain is another good ground to play in. Heck, even Italy fits the bill.
Truth be told, I'd like it to be more generalized instead of Crusade oriented. It could be interesting to explore what would have happened if Al-Andalus had reached an accord and advanced from their combined civilizations.
