Representative of Capital County, George Lincoln steps up to the podium. "My fellow Nova Brittonians, I have bad news. Last night, Republican party founded assassins murdered the Benjamin Jefferson and James Winters. Not only that, but the Democratic Republic of Nova Brittanica has split. Militant rebels in the provinces of South Lesser Nova Brittanica and the Homeland Islands have effectivly formed a new nation. I'm afraid that Civil War is immeninent."

News Flash:
After sporadic combat, both the Democratic Republic of North Nova Brittanica (DRNNB) and the Constitutional Republic of South Nova Brittanica (CRSNB) have signed a treaty. For three whole months there will be peace, allowing Democrats in the CRSNB to go to the DRNNB and vice-versa. Also this will allow the replacment elections to occur, and the military to prepare.

The president of the CRSNB, George Hamilton, steps up to the podium in New Lancaster. "Capitialistic nations and corporations of the world, I would like to request an alliance with you. At this point, the Nova Brittonian Civil War is slightly more likely to go to the DRNNB. If the DRNNB wins, I am afraid to say that the Democrats are likely to attack pro-capitalistic nations. What's more, you would lose the oil supplies of Nova Brittanica. If we come into power, we will be an ally with oil, instead of a foe with guns! God bless the CRSNB!"

Meanwhile the president of the DRNNB, George Lincoln says a similar request for assistance, only more Democratic.

The Democratic Empire does hereby voice its official support for the Constitutional Republic of South Nova Brittanica, and stands by the words of our brothers in Bretton. The Communists of the North must be stopped at all costs to preserve the liberty and freedom endured in the south of Nova Brittanica, and although at this point in time the Empire is unable to offer military support, we do offer financial support to our allies in the CRSNB.

Vice Director James Andrews leaned back on the glass table as Director Richard Montgomery poured himself a cup of coffee. It was almost noon in the Imperial City as he looked out the window, watching the towers of Cravna through the white blur of falling snow. Evergreen trees which surrounded the IDI's headquarters were covered with a coat of white, their needles drooping under the weight of the powdery snow.

"I like it as much as you do, Jim. I'd love to help them out. But we can't."

At that moment, a young seceratary walked through the door carrying a sealed folder with red tape around the edges. She was attractive to say the least; blonde, tall, and blue eyes. She silently dropped the folder on the table and turned to leave. Before closing the door, she smirked.

"Play nice, boys."
"Thank you, Jennie.", Montgomery said with a chuckle as he took the envelope. It was marked Classified: Level 4 in bold red letters. He carefully broke the seal, and examined the contents. Satellite pictures of anything worth snapping a photo of in Nova Brittanica.

"Well ain't this interesting?", he said aloud. "I better have the boys in analysys see if they can pick up some stuff here."
"Want me to run it down? I'm on that way next, anyway."
"If you wouldn't mind.", Montgomery said while handing the folder to his assistant. "It's heavy."

And with that, he left. Montgomery stood in silence, pondering exactly what he was to do. He knew that there were hundreds of other things going on in the world at this time... But this was special for some reason.

As he was thinking, the door opened again, and his seceratary peeked inside.

Don't be too flustered about our somewhat overzealous comrades in the Ministry of Information - "nuclear-capable" means exactly that.

With that in mind: As of this moment we are unable to send in ground forces. Our advanced-capability armor is currently undergoing a modularity upgrade, leaving us at a dangerous lack of land-based projection power. Some of our air wing, including much of the Heavy Transport Corps, are also tied up in operations around the former Hatarian colonies as part of a policing action. Much of our strategic air forces, however, remain available; some of these assets will be committed to your cause.

Our objectives are as follows:

Phase 1: Establish a "safe zone" around your country to prevent airborne incursion by either the North Nova Britannica (hereafter referred to as "NNB") or foreign socialist powers.
Phase 2: Neutralize NNB early warning systems. Priority given to fixed installations, then mobile units.
Phase 3: Achieve air superiority via the elimination of 90% of NNB combat air power.
Phase 4: Initiate a strategic bombing campaign of NNB infrastructure while maintaining a strong diplomatic pressure to capitulate.
Phase 5: Coordinate with your land-based forces in an offensive into NNB border areas previously softened by the above bombing campaign.
Phase 6: Proceed into NNB proper on a province-by-province, defeat-in-detail operation. This will be facilitated with heavy use of armor. By this point we expect to be able to contribute at least a limited amount of land forces.
Phase 7: Fully demolish any and all remaining governmental institutions. Priority targets - revolutionary leaders, Marxist intelligentsia and other elements of the socialist forces - will be executed on sight with extreme prejudice.
Phase 8: Establish a reunited government free of Bolsheviks. Commence reconstruction efforts.

At this point, our duty of crushing the Socialists will be complete. A permanent base of operations will be established locally as a preventative measure against further threats from Socialist forces.

Your cooperation is not fully required for this campaign to be successful, but it will certainly help streamline the swft and prompt completion of our stated objectives. The North and South both have a Grand Judiciary System and a president, vice president, House of Representatives, and Senate. However the North allows the people to overweigh their senators/representatives/president with polls sent directly to the people. Bretton: No fighting until the North has an ally.

The Errikan Empire has three central principals: Nationalism, Capitalism, and Christianity. Nationalism is both domestic and foreign, but for government policies it is the driving force to our imperialistic ways. Capitalism is primarily domestic (though it does influence foreign policy, further supporting a policy of imperialism), and means that the government basically stays out of economic issues domestically. The mighty fleet of the DRNNB had moved in. Brettonian aricraft above were being shot down, and the DRNNB airforce was violently striking at the defense forces of the CRSNB.

The new slaves were coming in. They were disorientated, confused, and defiant. However, the slaves were learning defiant wasn't good. Even now, their habits were being broken. There was a buzz of activity at the nation's capital. Politians, military officials, and advisors were running left and right. One into a office building here, one into the legislature there, and another heading to some intrest group down the street. It's not that there wasn't usually this kind of activity in Blaglug City, after all, this is the capital of a nation. However, the sheer volume of individuals running about made it seem like more than your average day. That, at least, was true.

It was the morning of day two of a conflict in another nation, a conflict that the Republic of Blaglug staked a huge intrest in. This, coupled with fears of a nuclear holocaust in the Golden Triange, made Blaglug's involvement very likely. In the event of such a devestating blow to the region, the common mood in the capital held that it would be necessary for Blaglug to have trading partners outside the region for sustaining. Thus, the government had singned the Nova Brittanica-Blaglug Free Trade Agreement (NBBFTA). Now, fears were that they would lose their valuable trading partner to a internal stife in that nation. Nova Brittanica was in a civil war and the Republic of Blaglug was determined not to lose a trading partner.

In the presidential office, President Johnny Smooth was in meeting with his war council. They had been in the discussion process for hours now, since before dawn. The meeting was wrapping up, and a decision had been made: The Republic of Blaglug must intervene. But with who?

The North of Nova Brittanica retained its name as the Democratic Republic of Nova Brittanica (DRNB), while the south had rebeled and changed its name to the Constitutional Republic of Nova Brittanica (CRNB). Both had aspects that the RoB did not like: The North was socialist and the South, despite being a fellow capitalist nation (IMPORTANT OOC NOTE: Despite Blaglug being classified as a "Democratic Socialist" nation on NS, it is not. Blaglug is a Centrist Democracy based on capitalism. Do to a careless error on my part, I accidently chose a wrong decision and, despite choosing the correct decisions since, have not been able to recover from this for some reason. I actually partly believe this may be NS's fault but that isn't for me to discuss here.) has taken to enslaving fellow humans, a practice which the Republic highly disapproves.

The President secretly hopes that the intervention and resulting treaty, whenever it may come, will lead to a capitalist democracy that does not violate human rights.

In accordance with the council's decison, both parties have been sent notices of the Republic of Blaglug's intentions (OOC: You can just reply to them based on the knowledge here, I'd rather not spend time typing a summary of everything I have already said.) and three naval fleets have set out from the RoB for the region.

William Black, the Vice-President of the South, spoke to the Senate, "As you've heard, our paramilitary attack on the communist held Homeland Islands was largely sucessful. Isolated resistance on England and Wales Island still exist, but the northern two islands of Scotland and Ireland are totally ours. This marks the first Southern victory in the war! As we speak, our patriots brigade is taking over the Anarchists!"

The Patriots Brigade was a remnant of the Monarchy Period, last remnant of the Royal Army. The Patriots Brigade was a group of patriotic soldiers, armed with a pistol, several grenades, and a flag spear. The flag spear was a spear with a flag on the opposite end of the spear head.

Artillery fire had destroyed the carefully planned Northern defenses of their buffer zone. The Patriots Brigade was charging the nervous Anarchist militia and Northern Soldiers. Gunfire was cutting the enemy down, but the Patriots were coming in a massive wave of men. Eventually the wave swept over the defenders, taking their lives. By 3:00 PM the Anarchist buffer zone was back in the hands of the CRSNB. Yet, a great amount of Patriots of the South had been killed.

Some 500 battleships, 800 submarines, 900 frigates, 100 carriers, and 1 flagship all aimed their guns at the enemy, ready to blow both fleets out of existance. A mighy wave of fire came towards the third and fourth navy, from this point on, it would be fire at will.
(Nova Brittanica, being an island nation, has always valued having a strong navy, and also the North has full control of the navy.)

The news programs had been flashing it all day. The headline: CRNB has taken Blaglugian Citizens hostage.

The capital was even more abuzz today. After learning that the CRNB had taken Blaglugian citizens and made them slaves, the President was furious. In fact, at the exact moment in time he was in the Senate chambers. the Senators were voting on something. The President had asked them to declare war.

Borderlands, DRNNB

Meanwhile, on land, the North had simply marched in, and other then the few southernmost cities, such as New Lancaster, the nations were one. The slavery act had taken out most of the population, causing the number of South defenders to shrink into a mere fraction of the Northerners. The slaves had been liberated, although the Brettonians were held as prisoners of war. War criminals were rounded up and exiled. Other then the slave masters, the people of the South were hospitably recieved. The corporations had gone North and the Capitalism that was before the Civil War was restored.

Southern Cities, formerly CRSNB

Anarchy reigned. The government had been destroyed, and this was the last stage of the CRSNB. Looters were everywhere, murders were common.

Senate Building, New Lancaster

Bang! Bang! They angry people were coming, to kill them all. George Hamilton and his cabinet had taken syonide pills. By their order, their bodies were burned, and other suicidals caught the fire on themselves and burned to death. The few senators that didn't commit suicide demanded that the gaurds stayed. Eventually the Senate Building was taken, the occupants were killed, the building burned. The Constitutional Republic of South Nova Brittanica was defeated. The North took over in a matter of time.

Homeland Islands

On the Homeland Islands the North had liberated the people paramilitary style. Peace was finally restored to the Islands of Nova Brittanica.

Open Seas, Battle of the Ally

On the seas however, a war was still being waged. Neither navy yet knew of the end of combat. Ships blasted out at each other, and jets attacked the ships of Gente Del Agua. When the jets were out of ammunition, they attacked Kamikaze style (crashing their jets into the ships). This was going to be a mighty battle, causing lasting after effects.

The 20 planes flew low over the uppermost territories of Nova Brittanica. As the men jumped out they deployed their parachutes just before the landing would be dangerous. As the last men landed the troops began spreading out. A prelimiary base was set up on a stratigically placed hill. The troops would move out in the morning.

Admiral Picard (Yes, yes, I know unoriginial) had no choice. The kamikaze began taking their toll on their fleet. He decided it was time. His voice boomed over the radio, "Men, pull back time to enter DEFCON 0!" The men scrambled about to get their positions. The 871 fighting frigates formed a U shape facing the enemy fleet. The rest of the fleet was being pulled out. The hammering upon the formed-up frigates caused another eighty to have to pull out, but un-benounced to the enemy, this was not retreat. The Nuclear Submarines prepped and armed the Ballistic Missle on their ships, one hundred in all. The un-suspecting enemy fleet continued to batter away at the Imperial Latican Navy ships, stationary. By now the other warships had been pulled to safety and Admiral Picard gave the order. "Fire Twenty warheads." A line of fire sprang out of all the submarines. Since they were not ICBMs they quickly hit the enemy fleet causing mass-damage, most likely turning the tide of the battle, and their were still more Nuclear Warheads in their arsenal.

Open Sea, Battle of the Ally

Chaos reigned in the Nova Brittonian side of the battle. The warheads were causing a break in the line of battleships. However, when the Gente Del Aguan submarines launched the warheads, Nova Brittonian submarines launched into submarine warfare. The ships that were above water continued hailing rounds down onto the frigates. The jets continued striking out at the frigates, continued using Kamikaze.

Northern Area of Nova Brittanica

The Nova Brittanica early warning system had registered the enemy planes, and realized that paratroopers had been deployed. Snipers had been set up in the forest surrounding the general area of where the paratroopers where thought to have landed (including the hill). Bombing of the surrounded area would commence soon.

Freedom Airport, New Lancaster, Democratic Republic of Nova Brittanica

Slaves who belonged to other governments were given free passage back to their respective nations. That day, all foreigners, including captured Brettonians, were sent back home. The Nova Brittonians had used a referandum to force the government to send the Brettonians back, as a good will effort.

OOC: Yes they were. And I believe the battle is close enough for me to lobb my Nuclear Warheads into your Northern nation:

Admiral Briggs looked over the message. Then sent a reply to Admiral Picard. It basically said, "What will happen to my ships, my men, and myself, if we were to surrender?". It was, in effect, both a genuine question, and a stall tactic. He prayed Nova Brittonian submarines to blow apart the enemy submarines, leveling the battle to conventional warfare, hopefully giving them the edge.

Your men and ship, except for your submarines, will be brought to the coast and be given Amnesty. All your ships will be stripped and made into war materials, except the Submarines and Cruisers. Both of which will be pushed into the service of the Imperial Latican Navy. Your men will become citizens, or could return home after the war.

OOC: Well, if you want to get your submarines threw, you'll have to get threw the radars of nearly a thousand frigates, then go head-to-head with our Submarines which will most likely fire of eight-ten missles towards your fleet/coast before you down them.

How about this, we give you half of all our ships in this battle, excluding the Nova Iceni flagship, and all of our submarines will be yours. You get them, as well as all our jets, and let us return to Nova Brittanica in our remaining ships. You leave the Nova Brittanica Islands, with the ships we give you, and don't return. Hell, we'll even put in 10,000,000 USDs for you as well.

Meanwhile the Nova Brittonian submarines fired torpedos the enemy submarines from a distance. Also, five Kamikaze fliers were ordered to send their jets into the ship were Admiral Picard's messages were coming from. The Nova Brittonian ships continued blasting at the frigate line, praying that somehow they could convince the enemy to agree to their terms of surrender.

All the frigates have 5 Ship-to-Air Missles, APPROX 4,000 S-to-A against 5 Aircraft... Not even one man... And, do you want to be nuked, why would you fire at our submarines when we just told you we were going to nuke you?

Day and night, like a thousand monkeys at typewriters trying to reproduce the works of Shakespere, pale-faced nerds sit at computer terminals and transmit commercials for Malkovianan television companies forcibly into territory that would remain otherwise uncovered by their marketing endeavers. And, naturally, since the Malkvovianan way of life and style of entertainment erupted out of civil war, these "Pre-emptive Telecommunications Marketing Consultants" choose their targets most often from areas of the world currently consumed with civil strife. Poor Nova Brittanica never knew what it had coming until it had already seen every last disgusting detail.

Some call it an act of techno-terrorism, others broadcast piracy, but in Malkoviana, the routine practice of overriding opposing broadcasts in order to insert plugs for ones own products and services is just considered smart. This seemingly unstoppable transmission forces its way into every system capable of displaying its image or audio, beaming through firewalls and other secure systems through the sheer intensity of the informational bombardment that is unleashed at the simple stroke of a key back in Malkoviana. Thousands of sattellites, transmission towers, and routing servers join together in a mass drowning out of every other source of picture and sound in the entire country, resulting in not just a brief takeover of television, radio, and internet media, but less secure military and comercial systems find themselves suddenly dropping missile tracking or sales displays and suddenly taking on this bit of filth and fun. With a short screech and a burst of static, the first Malkovianan television commercial beams its way into the information tracks of Nova Brittanica.

We're greeted by 50's style nostalgia, an image of the nuclear family gathered around the dinnertable, enjoying microwave fare. A lilting little tune from the smiling-wife household commercials of the same era plays as the image on the viewer's television focuses in on the scene, an announcer voice, loud yet only slightly obnoxious and overly reassuring, chimes in.

"Tired of everyday fare? Bored with the mundane and monotonous? I know I am..."

The image explodes into a series of flashing images while the music increases in tempo and switches to a mess of deep screeching and thumping bass. Horrific scenes of carnage featuring combat between people, twisted horrors of red flesh and sharp points, machines marching forth and grinding flesh away into nothing, handfuls of people caught in flaming geysers and incinerated instantly, leaving charred skeletons still moving with the momentum of a runner, all that and more blinking in and out, overwhelming bursts filled with more blood than the red cross collects in a year. Individuals struggle, driving forth in the mad dash to survive, the music takes on punctuating screams every other beat.

The image simply goes dark and the music quiets when all is done, leaving the viewer to wonder in stark horror what this might be.

Deal, the money is being sent as we speak.

The jets stopped their attacks and returned their carrier ships. Submarines stopped their attack, and surfaced. Battleships stop firing their cannons. The Admiral had already decided which ships would go to the enemy, and had told those ships to wave only the white flag. All the other ships waved the white flag and Nova Brittonian flag. People scrammbled from the white-marked ships to the non-white-marked ship. Rescue-helicopters from the carrier ships loaded people from submarines onto other ships. When the work was done, the crowded ships headed back towards Nova Brittanica. The ships that were going to the enemy waited there, ghost like.

The Imperial Latican Navy strode forth and took the ships. Happily they cheered, only twenty ships were sent to capture the ghost war craft.

Message to enemy fleet commander:
We have just gotten pulled out of this war via our Imperial Council. Have a nice day, and next time we meet on the battlefield, may we be on the same side.

The Large Fleets sailed back home...

The bombers needed were finally sent to the hill were the invaders were at. Intense bombing insured that no living thing would survive the bombing. Now at 7:36 PM, the people of Nova Brittanica rejoiced and partied! The war was over!

OOC: NB: I don't recall sending any of my men to either half of your country; I was preparing to to do so, but now it seems that's no longer necessary.

While maintaining regular contact with Central Air Defense Headquarters (CADHQ), a new message appeared on the lead bomber navigator's screen:

ALERT!

SOUTH NOVA BRITANNICA HAS FALLEN TO NORTHERN AGGRESSORS

CHANGE OF DIRECTIVE IS AS FOLLOWS:

IMMEDIATELY CEASE GROUND CONTACT

DEACTIVATE TRANSPONDERS

PROCEED TO PHASE TWO OPERATIONS

CONSIDER ALL GROUND-BASED AIR DEFENSE TO BE HOSTILE

DEPLOY DRONES AND WITHDRAW AT ONCE WITH ALL DUE HASTE

The navigator furrowed his brow, then activated his helmet intercom.

"Commander, news just came in from HQ; change of mission parameters," he said.

"What's that now?" the aircraft commander inquired.

"The South's been taken over and has gone hostile," the navigator relayed. "We're to deploy all Middlemen immediately, have them follow through with their mission and withdraw promptly."

"I see... well, that's politics for you," the commander responded. He changed his helmet frequency to address all the bombers operating over Nova Britannica. "Attention, attention, all aircraft, do you read? New orders; South's gone hostile. Set your Middlemen to attack all radiation signatures, then we're buggering out. Relaying the orders to you directly for verification. Over." The other aircraft commanders began responding with affirmative replies and getting to work.

The guidance computers in each Middleman flipped on, quickly calculating their targets and programming them into solid-state memory. That act completed, the drones primed and activated the small rocket boosters attached to the bases of their fuselages. Electronically-controlled clamps holding each Middleman drone to the bombers' fuselages detached, and the drones quickly began gaining speed. The rockets were only burning for a few seconds before enough air was rushing through the drones' scramjet engines to set them alight; the boosters were jettisoned as the drones suddenly darted ahead at an incredible velocity. Their job finished, the bombers jettisoned the blocky pylons used to ferry the Middlemen into battle and began banking away to retreat from Nova Britannica's airspace. Without the high-RCS drones and their pylons to disrupt the otherwise smooth, stealthy fuselages, the bombers would quickly begin fading from Britannican early warning radar systems. The quartet of Valiant Phoenix engines roared, propelling the bombers they were attached to to greater and greater speed.

As for the Middlemen, they were going in the exact opposite direction and at an even greater velocity. Roughly half the drone cluster began immediately homing in on radar emissions from the local vicinity; these drones quickly peeled off and began diving rapidly towards their targets. The other, slightly larger half colocated other, more distant radar sites and began zipping off in their direction. Each drone was festooned with a half dozen anti-radiation missiles, which would be launched as the drones neared their targets to maximize the possibility of getting through even the heaviest air defense systems. The Middleman itself would act as the seventh missile; a 1,000 pound bomb was planted in its nose. Their airframes were already beginning to glow due to the incredible atmospheric friction as their speed approached, and broke Mach 6 - and still they continued accelerating. The Middleman was a one-time-use-only UAV, and for good reason. Even if it had landing gear, a recovered Middleman's airframe would be so horribly deformed by the time it returned it would be a suitable piece of modern art.

Twenty-four bombers released 192 drones, which packed 1,152 missiles. Nova Britannican air defense commanders would be in for a migraine soon enough...

The paratroopers fanned out in the morning, staying low to the ground. The paratroopers split into groups of 10 staying about 100 yards away from each other. Advance scout parties had located several sniper teams, undoubtedly there were more in the area so the paratroopers were taking no chances.
