I am understanding; I have might. (FT, Reference, Supersoldier project)

1 Samuel 17:33
And Saul said to David, Thou art not able to go against this Philistine to fight with him; for thou art but a youth, and he a man of war from his youth.
Today marks the thirty-ninth year of the project.
Thirty-nine years, and millions upon millions of Denarii. The combined efforts of a score of the Clan's greatest minds, of hundreds of its most skilled warriors and engineers.
Eleven years of pain, suffering and failure. For eleven years we took what understanding we had of genetics, cloning and coding, and did what should never have been done.
We delved into the rift between science and alchemy, between logic and madness.
Between Order, and Chaos.

Glorious day! Sixteen hours have passed since my final meeting with Natan Ansu, First Warrior of the Clan. Natan has finally given permission to begin the Kyr'am'ika Project, which I proposed to him so long ago! I can barely contain my excitement at the prospect of leading this venture.
The Kyr'am'ika Project will create the finest warriors ever to lead my people, with the sharpest tactical minds to match. They will stand at the forefront of a sweeping, irresistable expansion, and will earn ever greater honour for the Clan.
I end this entry now, as I have much to prepare for tomorrow. I will keep this journal as an account of all that happens during the project, so that our road to glory may be better understood in the future.

Day four of the preparation of the laboratory, and I have finally found some time to write another entry. I have spent four days coding and recoding our setup into the data repository of the maturation chamber. It consistently refused to accept more than thirty-two individual units, and we were forced to resort to the most basic of methods to correct the problem.
I hope that the containment shield will still hold with the increase.

The containment shield did not hold, and the chamber was flooded with radiation. Six of my team are undergoing treatment, and Jorul is dead. He was working on the reactor at the time, and may have accidentally instigated the overload. I was not in the compound at the time.
The cleanup team tells me that the equipment will be reuseable, but would advocate a replacement. I have spoken with our accountants, and with the expenditure required by a new reactor, we do not have the funding necessary to replace the entire maturation chamber. We will take the risk.

The contaminated area and machinery have been cleared for use, though with misgivings. The maturation chamber has been limited to thirty-two units, in keeping with computational capacity and safety protocol. Yesterday, we recieved the first delivery of genetic material from a number of private and military donors.
Initial testing of the material has revealed a few genetic defects, and the respective donors have been informed.

A number of tissue samples have developed unforseen mutations within the last hour. It may be due to residue from the reactor breach, but the team assured me that the area was clean to acceptable standard.
If they are not being caused by the radiation leak, I have no idea why these mutations are occurring.

The first foetuses have been produced, though several have suffered mutations similar to those experienced during the cell incubation stage. I still have no idea what is causing the mutations, and a second sweep of the maturation chamber confirmed little or no residue.
This has become a matter of some concern.

The crop has been decimated by mutation, and only three foetuses have survived. My team cannot explain the phenomenon, and there is an air of confusion looming over the entire project.
I cannot rule out the possibility that the samples are being tampered with, and have requested that security sensors be installed in every major room in the facility.

The sensors found nothing last night, and another foetus has shown signs of mutation.
We found a shattered test tube this morning, though the sensors saw noone. I still have no explanation for these events. We will proceed with the two remaining foetuses as best we can, and requisition a fresh batch of tissue samples.

The tissue samples already showed signs of mutation when they arrived this morning, and it leads me to believe that the cause may take place during transport or collection.
I will contact the transport unit, and order a full examination of the shuttle.

The examination found no breach or contamination, and I have slighted the crew's captain. The mutations are still unexplained, and growing more regular.
The two foetuses from the original batch have been put into incubation, and continue to grow at a healthy rate. With these two, and the few that survived the second delivery, we have five. I will requisition another batch tomorrow.

The younger of the first batch foetuses has died after experiencing a total resipiratory failure, brought on by sudden and uncontrollable mutation. I was present when the abnormalities began, and I am unable to forget the sight. Flesh ran like liquid, forming and reforming around splintering bones. The skeleton fractured under unexplained pressure, only to grow at a rate measurable by inches per minute.
Several of my team claim to have seen mutation to this degree under battlefield conditions against the daemonic forces of the Chaos cults. I have known these men for years, and respect them for their worldly and practical beliefs. I do not believe they are lying.
I dissected the body to discover the cause of death, finding that the entire stomach had forced itself up through the larynx, blocking the lungs and flooding the abdominal cavity with blood from the heavily damaged circulatory system. The mutations continued after death, and it was difficult to navigate around new growths as I worked.
I have ordered the remains incinerated.

The nightmares have grown worse, and my meetings with the complex's therapist have had no effect. I have taken my prescription with willingness, but the severity of my visions continues to escalate. If they begin to affect my day life, I may have to consider the option of taking a break from the program.
The eldest foetus is halfway through maturity, and most of the genetic implants we managed to procure have adapted well to their host. The subject shows skeletal growth far above average, and the growth shows no sign of deviation.
Mutation has again afflicted the younger crop, and we have ordered the sixteenth batch. The team is no longer surprised by the aberrations.

The eldest subject has suffered mutations more severe than we have seen in any example to date. Limbs twisted, multiplied and warped as though blown by the wind. Halfway through the process I saw the subject's mouth, half-formed though it was, split and reform into two seperate orfices, protruding from either side of the face.
I do not wish to remember the eyes. I saw some semblance of sentience in them, which astonished me at this stage. Fully open and developed, they skipped from point to point as the subjects body deteriorated into a mass of quivering flesh. I watched them as they moved, and followed one as it slid upwards onto the crown of the head and over it, finally coming to rest facing directly rearwards. The other eye grew in size, becoming ever more bloodshot as it did.
The process continued for nearly half an hour as my team watched in horrified fascination, eventually slowing and coming to rest. All that remained of a near-human foetus was now a shuddering, bloody mess of offal and skin, with its engorged eye staring wildly from the shuddering mass.
I ordered our security detail to destroy the creature using a flamer. It was still alive when they fired, and emitted a keening, high-pitched cry as its skin burned and its fat boiled and ran like water.
I have requisitioned several bottles of Mandalorian wine for my laboratory team and the security guards, as I think they could use them after what they dealt with today. I know I can.
