Chamber of the Imperial Diet, Tokyo, Pure Japan.

The day after the Emperor's decree forcing the government of Prince Fumimaro Konoe to implement the dissolution of the Anti Narcotics Treaty Organisation (ANTO) and the legalisation of drugs so far illegal in Pure Japan, the Pure Japanese parliament, the Imperial Diet, was in session. With the prime minister coming under very hostile attack from the Neo-Nazi and fanatically racist opposition party, the League for National Purity and Divine Grace (LNPDG), led by Pure Japan's famous and most outspoken fascist philosopher, Kita Ikki.

Despite the government of Prime Minister Konoe being fascist itself, with it's authoritarianism, racism against non-Pure Japanese, statism, anti communism and imperialism, such was the nature of Pure Japanese politics that whatever far-right government was in power, the opposition to it was even further to the right and even more extreme, in this instance filled in the Imperial Diet by Ikki's LNPDG.

After hearing the speech made by Prime Minister Konoe and some speeches by the two government coalition party members, the Civil Association for the Unity of the State (CAUS) led by Konoe himself and their junior coalition partner, the Imperial Way Faction (IWF), Kita Ikki rose up and began his speech on the matter of the dissolution of the ANTO and Pure Japan's newly legalised drugs industry.

Kita Ikki: "Today, the Divine Light that our immortal Godess of the Sun, Ameratsu, shines upon our great and divine nation, shines no more.

For yesterday saw our so-called leaders sell their corrupt souls and the immortal honour of our great and divine nation to the array of white devils, their nations and their gangster mafias, so that our pure youth can be polluted by the opiates of the white devils. This vile surrender of the Empire's honour and our beloved and cherished sovereignty is part and parcel of the white devil's plan to undermine us, to weaken us and to strip us naked and rape us, so our Empire is left a naked and bruised victim, wholly at the whim of dirty foreigners who will then enslave us and wipe out our nation, our culture and our noble way of life.

But this must not stand, we of noble and pure blood, divine children of Ameratsu, we of the NLPDG demand that the Imperial Government cast out those defeatist elements who work against our nation's interests and divine mission and who are in the pay of Jews and white devils and that the Imperial Government retract the Imperial Decree of the dissolution of the ANTO and the so-called legalised drugs economy.

The LNPDG also demands that the Imperial Court and the Imperial Palace be purged of traitors and white devil collaborators, whom are working at the very heart of our Empire and our government to fool the Divine Emperor Showa into passing decrees such as yesterdays that only serve the white devils and not the interests of the Empire.

Let us strike out at the white devils, we have valour and nobility, we have a pure bloodline, something these white devils so lack."

After Ikki's speech, the Prime Minister got up an gave his reply.

Fumimaro Konoe: "The Imperial Decree was NOT a plot by foreign elements nor was it done under any form of external pressure that was in any way applied against the Empire."

With that sentence, members of the LNPDG started to heckle Konoe and shout "Liar", "Traitor", "White devil Lover." This lasted for about two minutes until things quietend down and Konoe resumed his speech.

Fumimaro Konoe: "Regardless of what the Right Honourable Kita Ikki and his Dietmen may think, I know in my heart that the Imperial Decree was carried out in full wisdom by the Divine Emperor Showa, for the good of this nation.

Our course stands and we shall not alter it, regardless of whatever rants the LNPDG throw up."

Ikki was furious at being insulted like this, rose up and shouted:

Kita Ikki: "You Sir have just determined your own fate and by the grace of the heavens you shall regret it. I will throw more than 'rants' that I promise you, traitor!"

East Tokyo Section Imperial Pure Japanese Army HQ, Tokyo, Pure Japan.

After the Imperial Diet session finished, Kita Ikki spent hours at the LPNDG HQ making phone calls for the action he now decided had to be carried out, a military coup to oust Prime Minister Konoe and purge the advisors around the Emperor in the Imperial Court.

At 19:30, Ikki and some of his party members drove to the East Tokyo Section Imperial Pure Japanese Army HQ, to meet with it's commanding officer, Lt. Gen. Hanzo Takana, a close friend of Ikki's and a LPNDG supporter.

By 19:55, Ikki had arrived outside the HQ building and was greeted by Lt. Gen Takana, despite the heavy rain now pouring down over Tokyo. They both went inside to Takana's office and started their plans in haste, for Takana had already known what Ikki had in mind.

After an hour of talking and making more phone calls, everything was in place.

Lt. Gen. Tanaka commanded a force of 15,000 soldiers of the Imperial Pure Japanese Army (IPJA) at the East Tokyo Section Imperial Pure Japanese Army HQ and they were now ready to sieze the capital city, Tokyo. Kita Ikki had over a 3000 LNPDG party members who had now been given arms from the military surplus that Lt. Gen Tanaka had and this combined force of 18,000 troops of the IPJA and the LNPDG were to strike at 00:00 hours.

The leadership of the Errikan Empire is shocked to hear of this attempted coup, and wishes to know if anything can be done to aid your current situation.

00:00 hours had struck, so did the coup.

Along the 605 Highway that connects Tokyo's downtown business district with the eastern sector of Tokyo and the coastline going off to Osaka, over 200 Leopard-2 MBTs drove down the highway, along with hundreds of M-113 and Scorpion APCs and transport trucks driving into central Tokyo on other highways and cutting across the inter-sections.

Overhead, AH-64 and AH-1 attack helicopters flew in to secure Tokyo low level airspace, radioing orders to ALL airports, air force bases and all helicopters and aircraft flying to land and stay out of Tokyo air space under the threat of being attacked.

By 01:00 hours, Prime Minister Konoe had been alerted to the news of a coup and left his official residence along with his family to the North Tokyo Section Imperial Pure Japanese Army HQ to take refuge, knowing he would be safe there as the commander of the North Tokyo Section Imperial Pure Japanese Army HQ was his own brother in law. By 01:20 hours, half of the Imperial Cabinet had left Tokyo, including Foreign Minister Tenzo Abe and Deputy Prime Minister General Sanjii Kito-Akiki and went to safety, out of the reach of the coup plotters.

At 02:10 hours, MBTs and APCs had surrounded the Imperial Diet, the Tokyo Metropolitan Police HQ, the Ministries of Defence, Foreign Affairs, Finance, Public Saftey and State Security and Constitutional Affairs and the Tokyo Stock Exchange.

At 02:45 hours the state run TV and radio fell into the coup plotter''s hands as well and for the next half hour remained off the air until 03:15 when the coup leaders made their broadcast.

This has just come in, it seems there is a military coup under way in Tokyo, the capital of Pure Japan.

At this moment in time we have no knowledge of who is behind this coup or what the aim of the coup leaders are, suffice to say we only know that a coup is taking place as we report this to you.

Our reporter in Tokyo, staying at the Tokyo Hilton, say from his hotel balcony, he can see that most of the central area of Tokyo is under siege, with military forces occupying the Imperial Diet, the Tokyo Metropolitan Police HQ, the Ministries of Defence, Foreign Affairs, Finance, Public Saftey and State Security and Constitutional Affairs and the Tokyo Stock Exchange.

All Pure Japanese government websites and phone lines are currently down and out of service and reports have come in that the Prime Minister, Prince Fumimaro Kone and his government are missing and have not been seen or been in contact with people for the last few hours.

Across the nation, TV screens went back on air at 03:15 hours.

The TV showed Kita Ikki in the military uniform of a IPJA captin and at the desk of the office of the Prime Minister, Prime Minister Prince Konoe's desk.

He began his speech:

"Noble and pure blooded people, brave and fearless compatriots of Pure Japan.

Today, the traitor, arch fith-coloumist and puppet of the white devils, Fumimaro Konoe has fled the nation and fled his Office as Prime Minister of the Empire.

Today, his corrupt and rotten regime has fallen and now the Divine Grave of Ameratsu has radiated through the dark clouds that blackend our great and pure nation, to usher in a New Order of purity and national self renovation.

I have assumed command of the nation and now hold the title of Supreme Leader and First Shogun of the Empire of Pure Japan.

With our new government of patriots, in the noble and holy spirit of our samurai ancestors, we shall enact the will of the Heavens.

To the four corners of the Kingdom of Man, our hand shall go, to the four corners to carry out that which is eternal and divine. Our mission is to rid the Empire and the world of white devils, every sub-human of white skin and fair coloured hair, to wipe out every vile addict of the opiates and to restore the ANTO and our place as a nation that knows no fear and bows to no nation, man or diety other than that to the Divine Ameratsu. White devils and Jews are a plague upon our world, sent from the underworld to corrupt and destroy the divine and the pure, but we shall stand and fight as warriors. North Tokyo Section Imperial Pure Japanese Army HQ, Tokyo, Pure Japan.

At the North Tokyo Section Imperial Pure Japanese Army HQ, Prime Minister Konoe was sitting in the office of his brother in law, Lt. Gen. Yamataso Kuri, also the commander of the Northern Section of the IPJA in Tokyo and one of the Prime Ministers most loyal of military officers. Konoe watched the TV speech of Kita Ikki, muttering to himself.

"Huh, Supreme Leader and First Shogan of the Empire of Pure Japan, who does that deranged upstart think he is. I so await the time we get back and retake Tokyo, Kita Ikki does not know what is coming to him."

By 07:00 hours, the skies above Tokyo were still cloudy and the rain still pourned down in ever more heavy downfalls, yet by know the snu had began to light up the skies.

Many citizens of Tokyo were bemused and shocked at the antics going on in Tokyo and hardly anyone in Tokyo had seen Kita Ikki's speech to the nation on TV, given that most people were in bed at the time.

By 08:30, members of the IPJA Marine Corps based in their garrison at the Tokyo Naval Academy had finally had time to regroup and asses the situation. The Marine Corps were on the whole loyal to Prime Minister Konoe and hardly any Marine took Kita Ikki seriously. The commander of the Tokyo Marine Corp Division, Colonel Itami Hakedi was determined to link up with other parts of the Imperial Pure Japanese Armed Forces (IPJAF) loyal to the Konoe government and drive the coup rebels out of Tokyo.

At 09:10, Colonel Itami Hakedi sent messengers, dressed as normal civilians with their messages on paper hidden in their underwear to go to the North Tokyo Section Imperial Pure Japanese Army HQ and inform Konoe that they were ready to strike back.

Two hours later, they arrived and delivered the message to Konoe.
