Bramstoker Civil War - OOC Thread and Signup (MT)

Okay, leading on from my introductory thread ('The Fall of the Conche, the Rise of the Fist' (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=505447)) and the recent economic crisis in my country ('Robbing Peter to pay Paul' (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=505692)), I have decided to bring about a civil war in my state between the new revolutionary Fascist government and a (mostly) democratic rebellion which began at the end of the Economic Crisis. To this end, I would like to know if anybody is interested in joining in by back either side of this conflict.

The sides:

Fascists - A loose alliance of the ruling fascist government and various right-wing groups that will be solidified in the opening post of the Civil War thread. Interested in developing a form of Corporate Fascism that would utilise both free market capitalist and state corporation elements, the Fascists came to power on the back of a military coup following dissillusion with the liberal democratic system of government. Created the economic crisis through the purchase of nuclear weapons that the state was unable to pay for without printing more Dollars, thus creating massive inflation and instability within Bramstoker.

The Democratic Alliance - A somewhat uneasy Confederation of opposition parties led by the Liberal Democratic Party and the Communist Party as the two largest opposition groups. Became a military opposition following the secession of Bramstoker Self Defence Force Southern Command to the leaders of the DA by SDC Commanding Officer, General Taylor. Intent on taking back the country to the democratic system of government, although relations between the Communists and the Liberal Democrats remain uneasy.

Once I have developed some interest and begin writing the intro post, I shall post here an Order of Battle for both sides of the conflict as they stand with the Bramstoker Self Defence Forces.

Please note that I am looking for a well-written RP with character development as well as battles, so as to establish some history for my nation in whatever outcome the war brings. Those interested should post here. Once the RP starts, this shall be the OOC thread for posting Orders of Battle, solving disputes etc.

(N.B - Leafanistan & Dai Yuddha Ossyria are automatically allowed to participate due to their involvement in the Economic Crisis RP)

Anyone interested?

Ill support the fascists... expect some serious brutality though.

Being a Nazi nation, I'll support the fascists, but as I'm involved in 2 rather sizeable wars I can't afford a large-scale deployment so any aid is likely to be small in terms of troops n' tanks. They can expect a lot of financial aid though

Hmm...

Well, my nation is kind of psycho, so...

I'll support the fascists.

Being the size I am though, it will probably be through my state sponsored mafia.

Not that I have one, but if I did, it would be in Bramstoker helping out the fascists.

Sound good?

I'd like to support The Democratic Alliance. Equipment, training and economical support, maybe a SpecOps team too but nothing major (well, I will increase support if the situation demands it; such as if another state's armed forces openly fight on the fascist side).

Red Tide: Accepted - I believe you have a quantity of ships sitting nearby my nation anyway from my intro RP, unless you've moved them on since then.

Skgorria, Teraq: Accepted.

Relative Liberty: Accepted. With the military of Red Tide on the side of the government, this is likely to escalate quite quickly.

Would like some more support for the DA in order to make it somewhat more equal before starting.

I probably have moved them, seeing as any threat to your was gone.

Mind if I get involved?

At this point, I am not sure which side I would support, as I really support republican ideals (which would swing towards the Democratic Alliance) but passionately despise Communism and find Fascists, while misguided, to be fairly dependable allies. I would most likely start by selling weapons, equipment, and foodstuffs to both sides and getting directly involved if the situation calls for it.

Errikland: Accepted. I do however want to find a few more people to support the DA, so no more supporters of the government, please - otherwise this might be just too easy for one side.

The Latican Empire would like to support the Democratic Alliance by sending in a large ammount of troops, up to several hundred thousand, as the Democratic Alliance wishes. We are not currently in any wars, and our veterans troops are begining to quit the army, this will be our new testing ground. We will like to send our 3rd Quick Response Taskeforce. (Look at my signature and click on the Latican Imperial Navy, on the first post is a list of my fleet I will be sending.)

Gente Del Agua: Accepted. That now means we have a reasonably large military force on the side of both groups, as well as those involved in a smaller scale.

Okay, I am now officially closing the thread to more participants and begin writing the intro post to the Civil War, which I will link to from this thread once complete. We will use this thread as the OOC thread for information and disputes.

Thankyou for your interest. I hope you all enjoy. :)

Remember, you have to request as many troops as you want. (As I have decided to make up to 800,000 go into the battle, as of this moment.)

I will do - once the thread starts and the international community is made aware of the Civil War, you can make an IC offer and I can request your assistance.

Alright, I realize this thread is closed, but it's the first time that I had a chance to read it. Bramstoker already knows that I'll be supporting the Fascist government, since we've already exchanged embassies. Just letting everyone else know. I'll probably use this civil war as an opporutnity to cause some problems in my own government, but that's for another thread.

Sorry, yeah - you and Leafanistan are the only two exceptions to the thread closed rule, as I already stated your automatic acceptance. :)

Okay, the IC thread for the Civil War is HERE (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?p=11939248#post11939248). I will post an Order of Battle for the Bramstoker Forces on either side tommorow after University. If other countries that are involved wish to start placing Orders of Battle for the forces they intend to use, feel free to start organising that now. Otherwise, initial reactions and offers of assistance would be the obvious first step. However, the first shots fired will be between Bramstokerans themselves.

Hope everyone enjoys. :)

Well, the intro post itself details the events that led up to the Civil War, and then generally introduces the main characters and requests assistance for both parties at the end. I did say that I intended this to be a somewhat detailed RP. :) I guess the most important part to read would be the request at the end of the thread, if you want a breakdown.

Red Tide, thankyou for the OrBat - I shall post my own after Uni today, as stated.

The AK-101 is not a LMG.

And I've updated my post.

It's an assault rifle. A good example of a Soviet/Russian LMG would be the RPK (which replaced the RPM), the RPK-74 or the PKM (a GPMG).

Analysis

Superior numbers on the side of the Government prevented the Democratic Alliance from breaking through Devil's Pass, and caused losses on both sides. Despite superior numbers on the Government side, superior numbers in Artillery and Air Support for the DA prevented the Fascists from pushing forward on their victory, and both sides have retreated to regroup and plan their next offensive.
