I was wondering if anybody would be interested in either a squad-based or single character RP based on 40k.
The last time I created a 40k RP, it kind of died for no reason after a while. There was a ton of interest, the RP went up, and RPing was going reasonably well. Then, one day, all posts just stopped. I think this was probably due to the extremely high post rate, and the fact that the forces were quite large.
In order to remedy this, I propose a much smaller scale RP, in which each player would control only a small squad, or a single character. Anyone interested, please post suggestions, and/or what faction/individual you might be interested in RPing as.
Note: No Primarchs or other such ridiculously high-powered characters. Also, anything "made up" must fit into the 40k universe, and have something
already made up that you can link to as a reference. All players must have a knowledge of the 40k universe that is greater than rudimentary. Having played Dawn of War or Fire Warrior just isn't going to cut it.

Yes, I know it's a revolutionary idea, but if implemented correctly, the GM could settle any and all squabbles that arose, and keep the RP alive.

If I had the time to RP it, I would do it in a heart beat. But due to numerous real life crisises and comitments, I fear I cannot.

However, I can drop by for the occasional background character post....

Basically this would be more in line with a single player kinda game where we'd all be out to get each other right?

But if there is anything I have learned from my obsession with these blue guys is that their firepower kicks the crap out of anyone.
I have a squad of traitor tau in my Lost and the Damned army. The tau are nice models, and the conversions which I did were quite easy, and the results are phenomenal (so I've been told). In particular, I made a mini-diorama for the heavy weapons team, who have a missile launcher, which got me a lot of complements at Chicago GamesDay this year.

OK ive decided to be the Tyranids because I love the little guys. I wish they were on DOW, but I am eagerly awaiting the Tyranid Mod for DOW and WA. Not sure about DC...

Actually, since Tau, Kroot, Vespids, and Gue'vesa are the only playable units amongst the Tau, Ill just play those guys. Gotta love the Stingwings and Knarlocs :D

Nicassar/Demiurg/Tallerians are still cool if you care to use them, just be sure that if you choose to do so, you provide links for those who aren't familliar with them (as per the original rules layed out in my 1st post)

Well, I was PMed about this. And while I'm not particularly interested, getting as I do, more than enough 40K from other RP. I'm sure you'd all love to hear what I have to say. In running a character RP like this it's generally best to try and rig it so that characters don't have to fight one another. The 40K background isn't too good at that for different species. I've seen good GM'd roleplays based on the Inquisitor premise though, with various inquisitors and retunites working together (sometimes fractiously). The Inquisitor game is a very good starting point and resource for character scale roleplaying in the 40K universe, which I heartily reccomend.

Yes, this is going ahead, but I'm a little busy right now. As a resident of the US, I have a long break from class and work for Thanksgiving, and that's when I'll get much more specific, and (hopefully) start the IC and OOC threads.
