Today Cythe Vanillion, Director of Military Affairs, was laid to rest.
The so-called Silver Devil was sixty-five at his death, a man little past his prime.
But in truth he had suffered longer than many.
Born Cythe Tain Vanillion in A.A 202, Cythe Vanillion was a child of a Regiment Marshal Hakata Jois Vanillion and Saphilia Vanillion.
At age five Cythe proved to be a musical prodigy, by age thirteen he had mastered many instruments including the cello, piano and violin.
It would be five years before Cythe would begin his illustrous career as a professional swordsman in the National Swordsmans Association.
With a total win ration of two-hundred to one and a total of four hundred and two duels under his belt Cythe left the NSA and joined the military.

Serving in many conflicts the man soon showed a horric skill at military tactics and strategy.
In the first campaign he served in the elite Serpents Fangs in the Hydra Infantry, he was awarded both the Silver Diamond for outstanding duty to the nation on the battlefield and the Blood Tear for "showing the true spirit of the wrath of Uldarious".
In the second year of his service Cythe was given the rank of Regiment Marshal and participating in the Jasala Crusade, during which time his regiment managed to defeat several forces of equal strength achieving a kill ratio of seven to one. For this outstanding command Cythe was again honoured, this time with the Golden Tear.

Cythe was to serve in a dozen more campaigns before finally being awarded the rank of Director-General.
Cythe was then placed in command of the faltering Domas invasion, within a month the Domas were sent into full retrat where they were not destroyed utterly.
This is a critical turning point, for it demonstrated that Cythe not only possessed tactical excellence but also a strategic flair and he was later to prove a master of logistics.
Within a year Cythe's utterly ruthless assault had the Domas crumbling economically and physically, he accepted their official unconditional surrender in A.A 230.
At twenty-eight Cythe Vanillion was already one of the most feared men in Uldarious, he was a keen judge of character and a had a precise mind well suited to politics and psychological analysis.

It took five years more before Cythe was awarded the highest military office, Director of Military Affairs, yet in many ways this was just the beginning.
At this time Cythe was involved in the ill-fated Cusoul Peak reactor explosion, he was one of only three survivors of over a thousand men.
However in this time his body was badly damaged on a genetic level.
Despite years of genetic surgery Cythe would spend the next ten years of his life recovering.
Despite this setback it was at this time that Cythe was to earn his title of Silver Devil.
In a movement of unprecedented coordination a union of four nations called the Fateful Alliance came against Uldarious.

Individually each nation was a great deal less powerful than the behemoth of Uldarious, but together they enjoued the advantages of numbers, economic and geographic superiority.
Despite the two-to-one odds Cythe Vanillion beat back each and every attack over a two-year period and managed to kill five men for every loss.
It seemed that Cythe was content to simply sit back and let the FA beat themselves bloody agaisnt his defences, but in truth his plan was far more devious, and horrific.
There was no doubt that Uldarious lacked the resources to fight a war on five fronts, there was also no doubt that Cythe was the fienst strategic mind in Uldarious, but the act that was to come would be remembered in infamy for years to come.
Uldarious lacked any particular advantage over it's competitors except in one key factor, each and every Uldarion soul was giften with genetic enhancements and it was this factor that decided the issue.
Cythe ordered a massive assault of ICBM's on all major food, resource and population centres.
Some were standard warheads, some were chemical and there were tow destinct others.
Both were virus bombs, one was targergetted for humans, the other for crops.
The X-231 "Reaper" Virus bomb was specifically designed to eliminate non-genetically enhanced humans.
the X-606 "Blight" was designed to reduce plant matter top a thick suldge for three years, then die out suddenly. Leaving the land fertile once again.
Within two months the FA began to show strain, this was due to a lack of food and a result of much of it's indutrial basis from the bombings.
In truth Uldarious lacked the missiles to hit each and every crop-field or city, but they managed to hit all the right targets.
It is now predicted that over fifty million people died as a result of these bombings.

After another year Cythe felt the time was right and launched his "Terrible Titan" campaign that swept away both eastern fronts.
Now Uldarious faced off two opponents to the west and one to it's south, but with the majority of the Militant Division in the East keeping the cities under wraps the other fronts were left dangerously exposed.
Or at least, this was what Cythe wanted them to believe.
In a massive assault of some twelve million soldiers along with perhaps twenty thousand armoured vehicles and significant air support the remaining Fateful Alliance attacked in a series of multi-pronged adavances.
But what they coudln't know was that cythe had placed Tactical Nuklear Cobalt bombs in all the military bases along the frotns and he had deliverately left them underhanded.
This served two goals, it caused the Fateful Alliance to speed up and outpace it's supply trains and it also caused massive casualties when the army was sent into retreat some months later.
Cythe had held the greater proportion of his forces back, they led a series of lighting counter-attacks and forces that he had instructed to hide in the Ulmovastal mountains were let loose to wreak havoc on the F.A's unprotected supply lines.
Without supplies the F.A assault fell before the staunch Uldarion forces and their attack was finally thrown into massive retreat.

It was now that the Silver Devil unleashed his deadly trap.
The nuklear bombs were set to go off if anyone tried to remove them, also they were hidden in the msot cunning of places, the power plant itself.
Uldarious powers most of it's nation with Geothermal power and these bases were no exception, but the F.A couldn't have known that.
The F.A forces took up garrison in and around the captured military bases, using them as strong points to anchor their defence and also relying on the supplies stored within them.
All this had been planned months in advance by Cythe.
The nuklear bombs went off and took by far the great proportion of the F.A army with them over the course of the next year. As it was over a million men died from the first explosions alone.
Meanwhile in the East, Law Division personnel had arrived to relieve the military forces who them moved to Western bases.
The problem was, the Nuklear explosiuons had now formed a no-man's land between Uldarious and the F.A.
It looked like a stalemate was going to form for the next twenty years, time enough for the F.A to marshal themselves and for others to join the fight.

Cythe had laughed when he declared his plan, he never intended to directly assault the F.A over existing lines.
In a bold, and insanely violent, assault the Uldarion forces blazed a path through, not a F.A nation, but the neutral nation of Jakalamesh.
To the outside observer Cythe appeared to have lost it, however Jakalamesh was already entering negotiations with the F.A and Cythe had declraed in a public announcement a week later. "Only a fool lets new blood join and enemy who you've spent so much effort on bleeding white. This is an example."
In four months Jakalamesh had fallen far, they had been a populous and beautiful nation, after Uldarious they were a beautiful but gutted and sullen nation.
Cythe didn't get involved with CI warfare, he simply obliterated the population from forty million to nine million, the only ones spared were loyal to Uldarious.
Then it was a simply matter of marching through the now-Uldarion territory and hitting the F.A full-force.
Like a hammer striking fine glass the F.A in the south was dealt a deathblow that broke them in weeks, they surrendered to Uldarious under the condition that their population would not suffer as others' had.
The war would last six more months, by the end of it two-hundred million F.A citizens were dead. Five million Uldarions were dead.
Cythe was given the Diamond Tear for "Supreme dedication to striking down the enemies of Uldarious."
More wars would follow but none served Cythe's twisted genius as well as that with the F.A.

In A.A 242 Cythe met the son and successor of Chairman Aralach Uldarion II. Alexance Uldarion was only a young boy of a few years but the two would become the best of friends.
In A.A 260 Alexance became Chairman, with much to be said of the support of Cythe Vanillion and Sumarr Talchion.
It was now that Uldarious had it's last battle, that with Nustromoth.
The war lasted two years and stood as a shining example of Uldarion power and with the fall of Nustromoth Uldarious occupied the entire continental mass.
Over the last five years Cythe had nothing to occupy his genius and with his death one of the greatest figures in Uldarion History passes away.
Cythe was lowered into his crystal tomb one hour ago. Over three million people came out to see the Director take his place in his tomb.
Dressed all in white, Cythe was placed in his tomb by his close friends Tamar Vauss, Vuzril Amon and Raquel Murau, the Chairman himself acted as the forth bearer of his friends body.
Each man placed a single white lily on Cythe's grave.
So it is now today, in the two-hundreth and sixty-seventh year After the Ascension of Aralach Uldarion, that Cythe Vanillion was laid to rest in the Hall of Heroes in Crytosis-Ulth.
As to who will succeed him? Rumours are that Alexance had some of Cythe's genetic material saved for cloning, a possibility not to be dismissed.
Whether you believe him to be a priceless Hero or a impossible monster Cythe Vanillion will always be remembered as a influential figure.
But we will let him have the last word.

Victory is never simply winning battles, to win you must either break your enemy or guide them to yourself. Truly great commanders will always remember that those who they fight, and those who they command are human. With human flaws and human strengths. A human can break at a touch or survive a thousand blows depending on how you attack them. Thus victory can come by a million seperate paths, some obvious and some subtle. It is a great pity that even I can see merely a few hundred of these options. A general who forgets he fights agaisnt human flesh and human spirit is one doomed to fail.

Cythe Vanillion, Methods of Combat

Know yourself and know your enemies as best you may. Look at every situation from as many different eyes as you may. Attack and defend in as many ways as possible. Waste nothing.

Cythe Vanillion, Ideals and Philosophy of combat.

The flowers grow and bloom, then fall to die and rot. Life and death, growth and decay. These two acts are repeated for eternity. Our lives also are thus, fear not death for it comes to us all. But try to not fall so soon

Cythe Vanillion, answer to when asked why he never feared dying.
