Kodiak Island, Alaska...
The Neuvo Rican Tiger Class Battlecruiser approached the island from the South. Along with it, two Archangel Class destroyers and a single Belem class assault cruiser sailed. Veracruz led the way, the other ships stayed in close formation behind. On the Veracruz and Orinoco were 2 companies of marines, assigned to take Kodiak island under their own power, whilst the other ships powered north for Anchorage. Once Martel arrived on the scene, it would begin to ferry resupplies to the troops on the island, but until then they were on their own.
Neuvo Rican North Pacific Battlegroup:
At Kodiak:
1 x Tiger Class CGN (MNRS Veracruz)
1 x Belem Class CGH (MNRS Orinoco)
2 x Archangel Class DDG (MNRS Brunei, MNRS Mayotte)
Not Yet Arrived:
2 x Hornet Class LHA (MNRS Riacheleuo, MNRS Martel)
4 x Bergen Class FFG (MNRS F-141 - F-144)
3 x Hades Class SSK (MNRS Hades, MNRS Pluto, MNRS Charon)
1 x Matto Grosso Class SSGN (MNRS Matto Grosso)
On the helipads of the cruisers the choppers began to lift off. Each company consisted of 300 men in this case, with only light vehicular support. Once landed the troops began to disembark, and the helicopters headed back for more. By now it was late evening, and the bad weather was closing in. Major Ruiz was the head of the unit, and as soon as the last CH-53 unloaded it's troops and the 'have a nice day' message was received from Veracruz Ruiz was in charge of everything on the island.
Statistics showed that over 13,000 civilians were known to be present on the island, and an unknown number of ex Squornshelan military units, not thought to be hostile. The force had landed in a deep bay Southwest of Kodiak, and were now establishing a perimeter for a base camp. In the morning A company would start out on a 50 mile treck to Kodiak city, taking most of the vehicles, whilst Ruiz and B company made the shorter journey along the coastline to Old Harbour.
Far away from anywhere, at least the force was not attracting attention in it's location.
Further North, in the Shelikof Straight...
The other ships were heading straight for Anchorage, some of the task force had yet to arrive, yet all the essential elements were already on the scene. Whilst the admiralty had not supplied a carrier, two Ynoga class carriers were on standby in Johnston atoll.
