so this is an RP leading up to and accounting for the events of D-Day, but what afterwards? will it go on into 1945 and the end of the war, or just end after the Allies secure Utah, Omaha, Gold, Juno, and Sword Beaches?

I notice a major problem with this RP idea:

It's too spread apart. Every single person who's joined the RP is either in a division, branch, or side of the forces in Normandy. In other words, they won't be RPing together, they'll just be RPing on their own.

alright we will start, i don;t mean to sound cocky..but wat do u mean it could be a problem? In reality, not everyone would be part of the same squad or platoon.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Sergeant Anderson walked down the wet stone streets of the base in southern england. His boots shone brightly as he passes the brightly. He turned down an alley way and walked straight up to one of the many aluminum quanset huts that lined the new street he had emerged on. Anderson knocked quietly but nonetheless swiftly. The door opened and inside sat many G.I.'s many of whom he knew. The sergeant walked into the hut, closed the door behind him.

" Hey sarge!" said one particularly portly G.I., who had a cigar clenched in his teeth. " Take a seat."

AJ, alexander john, walked forward and sat down, and took a beer bottle from the same sergeant who had opened the door.

"What did the lieutenant have to say?" this second sergeant asked.

"Just that they are postponing the assault until the weather clears," Anderson said as he sat back, picking up the cards dealt him.

It could be a problem because it's hard to RP with someone when you're on Juno Beach and they're fighting at Omaha or Point Du Hoc. This RP is going to fall apart because everyone is going to be at a different area.

His unit had been one of the few, 19-36 year old troops assigned to this portion of the beach. (Im at Juno) He walked into on of the bunkers and saw an MG crew of two and a few riflemen with the standard Kar 98k bolt-action rifle. Xavier had no disrespect for the gun, but preferred his semi-automatic rifle, the newly designated, Kar 43.

As T/5 he asked if a few platoons of men could be put on the ground to shoot at the enemy from a small hump of sand so that any attempt to blew threw the barbed wire would cause a large amount of life.

Xavier went back to his unit's bunker and practiced with his bayonet. He had to decide what would be better in a fight, the foot long bayonet attached to the rifle, or should it be in his hand. He waded out the suggestions and decided to keep the bayonet attachment on his rifle for quick use.

He quickly returned to the bunker he was prevoiusly at, and set up his Kar 43's sights at approximately seven hundred meters. If they attacked his beach, he would have a perfect shot at them.

OOC: If it's going to be such a problem with everyone in different units and areas, why not just make everyone join two units facing eachother, either Allied or Axis? That way everyone is at either Gold, Juno, Sword, Omaha, or Utah, or is part of the Army Ranger's Paratroopers behind enemy lines (or the German forces that said paratroopers encountered)?

OoC: Agreed, everyone is either in the american first rangers, or the axis unit. By the way for all those who wish to continue, the rangers will be landing at Omaha. I figure it would make for an exciting roleplay.
