The Latican Empire is now buying ICBMs!

After many years of
debating, by the Imperial Council of Nation, we have decided that we
are now willing to buy four-hundred Inter-Continential Ballistic Missles,
nuclear or not, and/or the production rights to varieying
Inter-Continential Ballistic Missles.

Be aware that we are buying these missles from all agents, nation,
and corporations and that we will try our best to descriminate between
stolen warheads and legitimate warheads. Be told, that we are buying
from corporation, agent, and the black market; therefore it will be moderatly
difficult to police these transactions without a third party help, namely our allies.

Althought we view this new kind of warfare into our nation's existence.
We also hope that these actions will allow our nation to grow; both economically
and politically. Yes, we are searching for allies from the scrap heap and the ones
on the king's medophoric throne.

Now let the buying begin!

Naasha finds it rather odd, and slightly disturbing that a nation which is asking for charity in order to equip it's conventional armed forces would wish to purchase four hundred ICBM's.

Surely if you can afford these then you could have afforded to equip your own military? This makes your previous requests seem rather deceitful.

Ahh, my friends. We are a new nation, and even though we can afford such arms, the charity, as you can clearly see, is not going to well. We need these weapons for the defence of our people and allies, we are very sorry if we seem decietful, but thats how small nations must be some times. Now, are you willing to sell us anything?

Naasha is currently in a state of civil war and under invasion by a coalition of three enemy nations. Previously our people were killed and our cities reduced to rubble by Clandonia Prime's WMD's. We have nothing to sell to a nation that believes it requires four hundred ICBM's for it's 'defense'.

They don't have to be nuclear, what I meant by Inter-Continential Ballistic Missles are more like Surface-to-Air, Surface-to-Surface, Surface-to-Sea kind of missles. Besides I know I can't afford 400 Nuclear ICBMs. I'm actually looking more for Conventianial ICBMs.

Official Communiqué

TO: The government of the Latican Empire
FROM: Anastasia Schakowsky Emissary of the Circle of Cephiron
SUBJECT: Request for weapons of mass destruction

The Circle has deemed your request for 400 ICBM’s as suspicious and as such we are ordering a naval blockade of your nation until you withdraw your request for said weapons. We will not authorize any nation to sell you weapons of mass destruction. There is no reason to acquire such weapons for defensive purposes as you claim. All vessels entering your territorial seas will be detained and searched. We will also impose a no fly zone over your country until further notice. Any aircraft attempting to enter or leave Latican airspace will be shot down.

Otagia will happily supply you with said 400 ICBMs, all LGM-30 Minuteman IIIs. We will supply you with these at the cost of seven million USD per missile, or 2.8 billion USD. Due to their size, we will ship by sea. Due to the blockade around your nation, we have also deployed a full battlefleet in order to clear the seas of any opposing parties that attempt to interfere.

Yours,

SUBJECT: Latican request for weapons of mass destruction

It is most unfortunate that you have decided to grant the Laticans request for Weapons of mass destruction. Unfortunately, we cannot allow you to deliver the weapons. It is clear they will use these weapons aggressively. There is no other reason to make a request for said number of ISBM’s for defensive purposes. The Circle is prepared to send over 2000 thousand battleships to reinforce the blockade. The cost of delivering these ICBM’s will be substantially more then any profit you could make. We ask you humbly to withdraw your offer.

OOC: Using multiple nations that you control in RP to justify larger numbers is called puppetwanking, and is very much frowned upon here. All evidence points to every nation in that region being yours: No 'board posts, only one UN member, comparative nation sizes, etc. Regardless, even in the doubtful case that you aren't puppetwanking, my nation is STILL larger than all ten of yours put together, and much, MUCH richer. Even so, I don't pretend that I could possibly afford to maintain 2000 battleships and their supporting vessels. I don't believe that even Questers and Sarzonia have such an insane number.

IC: The loading crew sat back as they watched the crane lower the last massive crate into the cavernous hold of the PRA freighter, it's red and black hull shining in the early light, cutting through the fog. The sleek black forms of its Barachiel mounts jutted up between the massive cranes, newly mounted for protection from pirates and worse. Recieving some unheard signal, the freighter suddenly sprang to life, mooring lines cast off as the vessel slowly began to move, quickening as it moved out of the harbor, its three sisters following majestically in its wake.

As the ships hit the deep waters of the open ocean, its escort arrived. The massive form of the ONS Antonius cut through the morning haze, towering above its own escort fleet. Even the hulls of its Mayu-class supercarriers were dwarfed by Antonius' tremendous bulk.

The freighter captain whistled, impressed by the unexpected grandeur of his escort.

"ONS Antonius, this is Captain Bellos of Pale Rider vessel Unidentified Leaking Object. Thanks for the escort, but we didn't expect the Bahk blockade to warrant such a fleet. Can I ask the occasion, over?"

"PRV ULO, this is Admiral Nishi of the Otagian Imperial Navy. Due to Bahkan posturing, the Regent has authorized a show of force. While their claims of two thousand battleships is patently rediculous and obvious propaganda, the Regent believes that such a decision will put the Bakhans firmly in their place. Now, if you'd be so kind as to assume your places in the battlefleet? I would do so myself, but alas, Antonius here has a turning radius the size of the Southern Desert, over."

Bellos chuckled, his crew carefully guiding the ULO into the center of the miles-wide Otagian fleet. Watching his sister ships maneuver through the web of cruisers, frigates, and destroyers, Bellos felt a twinge of pride at the thought of doing something important enough to warrant an escort by Antonius itself. It wasn't every day that a simple merchantman caught a glimpse of one of the Quetzals. This would most certainly be one to tell his grandchildren about...

OCC: I was told about Nationstates by some friends on another forum. A bunch of us all signed up at or around the same time and I created a region and asked them to join. The only thing I did was make some flags since I'm good with photoshop. I based fleet numbers on the United States which has about 300 navy ships in service I thought I was being pretty conservative with the numbers also I never specified the type of ships. I never said I had 2000 Aircraft carriers or anything retarded like that so there was no need to be such a jerk. Look at Laticans thread with his fleet numbers... he has more frigates then I do total ships of course no one has said anything to him about it though. :upyours:

General Resources

While silo based missiles are a very important part of a nation's balanced diet of defense, mobile missile platforms are also very important. The SCUD, and later versions are still an important weapon with our new improvements.

The SS-1e Scud-D variant developed in the 1980s can deliver a conventional high-explosive warhead, a fuel-air warhead, 40 runway-penetrator sub-munitions, or 100 × 5 kg anti-personnel bomblets. We currently produce a version of this that uses GPS targeting to make the CEP only 15m.

This Scud-G has the same range and payload, and uses a smaller inertial guidance system and inserts a GPS targeting system. Just apply coordinates via CD, floppy, or keyboard, aim and fire.

We are willing to supply 200 missiles (including conventional warhead), their launching vehicles, and production rights for both for only $12 billion US. A discount compared to what other countries are offering for advanced ballistic missiles.
