Cruxium's House of Justice saw its' first case of pro-choice violation today, leading to extensive debate within the House of Democracy and House of Justice.

Robert Sandwell, 46, a practicing catholic, refused to sell the morning after pill to a woman who cannot be named for legal reasons. After reporting this to her area Speaker, Mr Sandwell, BSc. (Biology) was dismissed from his position in the woman's local PharmaCare Outlet and remanded in custody pending further investigation.

LifeWyze were unable to comment about the employee, stating that the PharmaCare Outlet in question is one of many such franchise branches that LifeWyze has "little to do with".

Mr Sandwell gave the following statement;

"I admit I refused to sell the morning after pill to Ms. X, as it conflicts with my personal religious beliefs."

First Speaker Philip Dunford offered the following official government statement;

"That Mr Sandwell would be prepared to breach the human rights of Ms. X on such grounds is socially and morally deplorable. He has been remanded in custody pending an investigation into this event."

Ms. X is reported to have recieved a morning after pill later that day from a PharmaCare Outlet a mile away.

Cruxium was blasted by the Catholic Church today after the announcement Robert Sandwell will face trial.

Mr. Sandwell, 46, a Cruxium national and Catholic is being tried for religious discrimination and breaching human rights. The maximum sentence is said to be five years in prison.

The action has been slammed by many as being over-kill, however respected Seer of Justice, Siegfried Harris, spoke publically on the matter;

"What we are dealing with is someone for whom personal opinion is valued above the needs of society, for whom personal opinion is valued above work ethic, and for whom a breach of human rights is considered preferable to breach of religious practice.

"Anyone so deplorable is fully deserving of being tried to the full extent of the law."

In a remark that is being praised within the higher echelons of government, Seer Harris added;

"It hardly seems to me that denying another person their base human rights is the most Christian of actions."

Trial is set for November 6th.

Granade Turquesa Isla, finds your actions foolish, a waste of tax payer's money, and nothing more than a foolishly concoctued scheem to assert Government Might and act in the name of Dictator. Refusing to assert pro-choice is hardly an abuse of "human rights." Save the burden on your poor taxpayers, if someone doesn't feel right about selling the pill, get another employee to do it.

This nation state abhores the current custodial sentence applied to mr sandwell, reminding the legal representitives of the state in question that freedom of consience is a human right and that mr sandwell has a "right to choose" what goods are or are not for sale in his commercial outlet.

"Having had replies from foreign Governments, it is felt that such statements must be addressed publically.

"Cruxium is not now, nor has it ever been, a dictatorship. It is by the will of the people that Mister Sandwell is being prosecuted for his deplorable actions and we shall be meeting with a Catholic representative to discuss the doctrine that led him to act unlawfully.

"Furthermore, the PharmaCare Outlet in question was not owned by Mister Sandwell, but rather by another who does not wish to make his identity public. In light of this disturbing turn of events, we shall be making an amendment to the Women's Right's Act of 1937 to ensure that denying contraception and abortion methods will result in prosecution.

"Thank you, and good day."

Outrage gripped the few religious groups in Cruxium today at the outcome of Mr. Sandwell versus the People.

After three days of deliberation, Seer Harris delivered a verdict of guilty and handed a sentence of 20 months suspended sentence, seven thousand and five hundred pounds, approximately twelve thousand universal standard dollars, in damages to Ms. X and court costs of a further three thousand pounds.

Many groups proclaim it a breach of his religious rights and a step down a slippery slope, while members of the secular community, approximately 91% of the nation, proclaimed it a bright day for common sense and rational thinking.

Unfortunately this action has further fuelled the rising tension between the religious groups in Cruxium and the primarily secular people.

Rumours also abound that the Catholic Church is to be fined by the Cruxian Government.

_______________

Robert Sandwell, 46, a practicing Catholic, refused to sell the Morning After pill to a woman who shall remain unamed. In addition The Crixium Government filed criminal charges for quote unquote "Human Rights Violations." (As though Pro-Choice was considered a "Human Right") So in a not-so-suprising twist after a three-day trial it was ruled in favor of the prosecution, and finding for 20 months suspended sentence, £7,500 , approximately $12,000 damages to Ms. X and court costs of a further £3,000.

What a traverse waste of the Justice System. Crixium has yet again proven its self nothing more than a "Democracy in Disguise." The Jury and the Taxpayers should be ashamed of them selves for not realizing how much of their hard earned cash has gone down the tubes over some silly pills. Now I'll admit I my self am Agonist but unlike the agonistic pricks of Crixium, I have respect for Christians. Personally I don't belive Abortion either, but that's another topic. I think to pick on Christians is a sad waste of time and money, because there are Christian Nations which do the same to Agonistic peoples. That is why I'm greatful to be in a nation where I can chose to be Agnostic, as opposed to Crixium where you can only chose to be Agonist or face persecution-excuse me ridicule-excuse me again-appropriate "law and order" from the Government. And get this rumor has it Crixium plans of finin the entire Catholic Church for one man's actions! I'm sure that fine money goes to building more abotion clinics weapons of mass destruction all that fun stuff.

Boy it's a sad day when a persons right to chose it taken away. And I don't mean right to chose if they want a condem, right to chose if they really want to violate their personal belifes. If Crixium is all about "Pro-choice," where's the pro-choice in chosing one's belifes. Next you know there will be a head line about some parents being arrested for teaching their children moral values.

I think it's time for the people of Crixium to wake up and realize their government is wasting their money on silly prosecutions and biased trials. They want to be secular that's their business, but don't drag thoes that want to be dragged with them along.

It is the official stance of this government to respect the decisions of the people of a foreign nation. If it is their will to prosecute a man for refusing to sell contraception, then so be it. It is no one else's business but your own. One thing that we do disagree with, and must address, is the abundance of rumors regarding a decision of the Cruxium government to fine the Catholic Church for the action of one man. We feel this is highly out of order and irresponsible. We wish to here a reply regarding this matter.

Official Government Statement

*First Speaker Philip Dunford stands before the podium, the other eighteen members of the House of Democracy sitting behind him in a public show of support.*

"Through the aftermath of the prosecution of Mr. Sandwell, rumours have abounded that We, the Voice of Democracy, intend to fine the Catholic Church for the views and actions of Mr. Sandwell. This is preposterous.

"Despite the firm, secular view of this Nation and Government, we shall not hold religious organizations accountable for a single person's actions. However, recent demonstrations have been growing increasingly hostile toward the Social Defense Corps. We are informing the People now, that in the interest of the People, the Church of any religious group found to be protesting in an unlawful manner will be fined to the full extent of the law and all parties prosecuted.

"Furthermore, We have completed work on Amendment XXIII to Law I, the People's Rights Act 1927 (Amended 2004);

Refusal to sell legal products to a Citizen of Cruxium within legal quantities, based on religious and/or personal beliefs is illegal. If found guilty, there is a minimum sentence of 6 months community service and a maximum sentence of 2 years imprisonment.

"Thank you."
