Inside the Mind of a Cyveron (should you want to know your enemy)

Cyverons are the result of the research into Human-Cybernetic Union (HCU) technology carried out on the planet Arborius by the brilliant scientist and Supreme Military Commander Augusto Reid.

The Cyverons consist of a military standard Battle Suit made of the powerful metal known as 'Valcorium'. This battle suit is only the outside however. The inside is where the real genius is. A fully organic nervous system, veins and gallons of artificial blood keep the Cyveron running like a human being. Aside from this though, the interior is that of cold metal. And finally one must look inside the helmet. It is in here that the brain is inserted. And thus the Cyveron becomes truly organic. A man inside a robot.

But it is not this simple. The crux of Reid dream was not to make man physically strong inside this tomb of metal. His dream was to make man a God, free from death, free from machination and free from themselves.

Thus the true horror of the Cyverons comes to light. The brain is stored within a maze of electrical volts and preserved in the Valcorium. It never dies, and gives the subjecy eternal life. But how to prevent the machinations of the average mind? The answer was simple to Reid. All corruption comes from desire, from despair, from pride, from anger, from loss, from pain, from hatred and from happiness. Emotions were the source of corruption, and emotions must therefore be thrown away. It was for this purpose that Reid invented Valcose syrum, over tireless days and nights for 15 years.

Valcose syrum utterly supresses emotion in the average mind. It focuses the mind, it eliminates pain, and it creates complete and utter equality and uniformity in all Cyverons. This is the axis of their creation.

In the Present

Of course, everything has changed now. Reid's dream finally came true as the Cyverons swarmed across Arborius, killing and converting all before them. Now, with Reid being fed into the same grinding mill, the Cyverons are free to pursue their purposes. But what exactly are they?

The Cyverons have a single minded devotion to what they know as 'Transformation' or 'Conversion'. This stems from the remembered experiences in their organic form, minus the emotion that would make them realize how much better life was beforehand. Thus they remember only pain, loss and death and strive to free all others of this. Since they also believe that emotions make others irrational, they are prepared to (and often have to) revert to forceful conversion in the belief that they are acting for a greater good.

But while this may be the 'lighter side' to the Cyveron mindset, there is an even darker side. All those that are deemed unworthy of the conversion, all those lacking the brains (AI units, ghostly are godly forms etc) are deemed 'irrelevant' and therefore killed. In this way, if not others, the Cyverons are a genocide race.

Though this doesn't make them totally irrational. The Cyverons are often forced to lie, cheat and infilitrate. And they do make alliances, though it must be warned. A Cyveron alliance with an alien species is only worth so much when weighed against the importance of their mission. As soon as all use in alliance expires, no further cooperation can be expected.

I may write more. It depends on whether people read this or not.

[ooc: Very good take on Cybermen, quite interesting, cause you changed it enough to make it original. Once I have the Lorotai worked out I may have to organize a Republic Mission.

Perhaps.]
