IC:
Hiro stood on a platform with a makeshift wall behind him so that the camera's would not pickup the surroundings as to give off their current location.

40,000 men strong were crowded into them temporary military camp, being trained on how to fight up close, in the streets, and on a more traditional battle field. However, all stood in attention to Hiro.

"This is Anne Marcy from ViZion Broadcast News. In just a moment, Hiro Ando V, great great great grandson of President Chiefy, will begin his speech to ViZion and the international community."

As Hiro scanned the crowd, he put his hand in the air, and immediately, the crowd quieted down.

"Hello fellow citizens of ViZion, and to the citizens of this international community. For five years to long, ViZion's Italian claims have been occupied by the forces of MP, Doom, Quester, and Prae. For far to long, we have sat here, living in fear that they would come to our African homes and attempt to take us over.

That had not happened... until just days ago. The rebels, loyal to the traitor Villian - the man who began our who civil war! - have launched a coordinated attack across our African cities.

With Villian having disappeared five years ago, and with no action in Africa, it is CLEAR that these rebels were supported, trained, and organized by the occupying nations, planning to disorientate us before moving in to strike us.

I say WE WILL NOT HAVE IT!

With those for nations, there is a clear and present danger! And that is NOT just to ViZion, but to any nation. They dared to occupy our land and keep it when we struggled in our civil war. What will they do elsewhere? Doom has always garnered up quite a reputation over his nations history as being a very aggressive nation. And once working against eachother, nations such as Doom and Prae are, together, occupying our land.

I call upon the occupying nations to leave our land now. Give it back to us. That is our land, and you have OUR people! We want you to leave, giving us our land and people back!

I call upon our allies of the WWA and elsewhere, join us should any of the occupying nations ignore our demands to hand back our land and people! We must fight these nations out before they strike the rest of ViZion and take over the whole of our people, resources, and power!

To the international community, even those not aligned with us right now; demand that they cease their occupation! And if they ignore those demands, aid us in pushing them out. This will benefit ViZion in the short term, but it will greatly benefit the world in the longer term. Any who remember us before the civil war can testify just how grave this situation is that ViZion does not fall into foreign powers!

Join us!

And to my fellow ViZionarians! We must unite and fight as one! We are brothers-in-arms! We shall win this war! We are not fighting for our flag, we are fighting for our neighbors, our friends, our families! We are fighting for eachother!"

The crowd erupted with the new chant, ViZion! Unite! ViZion! Unite!" as he walked off the podium.

What remained of the main government began to seek out Hiro. Seeing as the people followed him, they knew they needed him to work with them, become them. Sure, General Kilo was acting President, but he was a military man, not a politican, and he knew that, too. He wanted to be leading his men into battle, not trying to understand the jibber-jabber of the cabnet.

But they had a problem: They did not know of his where-abouts. Going by the tape, they, too, couldn't tell where he was at. So, they would have to look across Africa for him. It was their only option.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Oceana, ViZion
Along the Atlantic Ocean, Oceana was preparing for an onslaught of friendly and hostile naval forces alike.

However, at this time, Rick and Hiro were in town. Hiro and Rick had a plan. Hiro would stay here in Africa to lead his men. Rick, in the mean time, would set sail in a convoy of three ships. He would be headed to Jarridia to share plans, and then set sail back for ViZion.

Procurator's Palace, Doomani-occupied Roma, Italia Doomanum

Procurator Marcus Camillus Decimus, hero of the Battle of Vizion City, was in the process of signing the death warrant of a Vizionarian accused of heresy when news of Hiro's rebellion reached his ears. Dissent had died down the last few years with the occasional heretic being uncovered by the Inquisition, but such things were expected. An open rebellion was not.

Marcus had aged in the past five years, with a full head of gray hair and wrinkled skin. None the less, he was still a formidable man, staying in shape even in his old age. Such things were required of any Imperial soldier, no matter their occupation.

He sat at a large oaken desk adorned with various pictures: his patron saint, Michael the Archangel, his family (wife, two daughters, and son who had been killed in action during fighting in Arretium against the Czardaians), the virgin Mary, and of course a crucifix; the rest of his office included another large crucifix that hung above the door and a portrait of Caesar on the left hand side of the room and a large Doomani flag which hung on the other side. The walls were finely-polished wooden paneled.

It was a rather nice office, and a new one. The capital of Italia Doomanum, Roma, was mostly rebuilt by the Imperial Government using Vizionarian slave labor. The city had been turned into nothing short of a fortress: the only people who resided in the walled stronghold consisted only of Imperial troops and officials. The Vatican, of course, profited a great deal from Doomani occupation, as Doomanum was a strict Catholic nation, nothing less than a theocracy. Then again, the first thing the Doomani did when they occupied Rome was install their own Pope...

The city was not yet quite fully operational; the Imperial Government was not yet prepared to have citizens fully colonize it for some years.

The Empire had invested quite a bit in its Italian holdings, and this rebellion threatened all of that. It was Decimus' God-given duty to put down these infidels without mercy. Surprisingly, he had quite a bit of power for a mere Procurator: he commanded roughly half a million Imperial troops along with an armada of ships.

Imperial governors were always given much freedom in the use of their forces in newly-captured provinces such as Vizion...

Legatus Legionis Varus Gregarius Horatius, who had delivered the bad news, was a close friend of Decimus; they had served together before, and Horatius himself had commanded one of the many legions under Emperor Maximus III against the Czardaian horde.

Although he had served honorably, he was near retirement, and had thus landed the dead-end assignment of Procurator's Advisor in Italia Doomanum. Well, so much for dead end. Let's face it: the man was overjoyed when he heard of this rebellion. He would have one more oppurtunity to go to war and truely make a name for himself.

Horatius handed Decimus the manila envelope without a word being said. Decimus opened it up with a knife and carefully lifted the contents out of the packaging. He read through the first of twenty pages carefully and frowned.

"Varus, pack your bags," he looked up from the paper towards his comrade, studying him for a moment.

He was tall by Doomani standards, standing at six-foot-two, and was a rather imposing figure. He had broad shoulders and a large chest, which was more or less covered in medals. His black Legatus' uniform was absolutely immaculate, perfectly pressed, and very sharp looking indeed. His scarred and wrinkled old face conveyed no emotion.

"Looks like your going to Tunisia. Ceterum censeo Carthaginem esse delendam." he added with a slight smile.

Moreover, I advise that Carthage should be destroyed.

Tunisia, was, of course, the land where Carthage once stood so many years ago. Varus cracked a smile at that and took a seat in front of Decimus' desk. "We're blockading the bastards, I assume?" were the first words out of the mouth of Varus Gregarius Horatius.

"Naturally; I'll order the fleets moved in a few minutes. In the mean time I'm expecting various assorted heathen insurgents and terrorists to commence a rebellion of their own within my jurisiction. I'll deal with that personaly, of course," he produced a box of cigars from his desk and handed one to his trusted commander, who happily took it and allowed for the Procurator to light him; he then returned the favor.

"Won't be too difficult, I suppose; only place they can really be is the mountains." replied Horatius as he puffed on the cigar, the pleasant-smelling smoke slowly rising towards the high cieling of the office, "Which means they won't be able to do too much damage."

"Yes, I agree. In the mean time, I want to tripple the amount of UAVs we have over there. The sooner we crush these heretics the better. Now, as for Africa...well, I'm sure our Questarian allies would be much oblidged to take up some of the slack in terms of the blockade. You, on the other hand," he paused, looking out his window at the courtyard of his palace.

Columns of fully armored Legionaries clanked through with god-like precision, the sharp sound of boots hitting pavement echoing through the air.

"I want you to bring me this...Hiro. You can bring him to me in chains or you can bring me his head in a box; Caesar would undoubtedly be pleased with such a gift..."

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Imperial Mediterranian Fleet

It took no more than twenty minutes for the orders to reach Admiral Junius Paralentus Tertius. He, of course, was more than happy to divert three hundred ships from the main armada to establish a blockade around Vizion's African holdings. This, of course, was almost certain to spark a conflict, but Tertius was fine with that.

He was perfectly happy send a few hundred thousand infidels to watery graves on a whim.

While, compared to the fleets they would be up against, three hundred ships probably wasn't alot, it did not matter. The entire armada, stationed around Italy, was technically in missile range of Tunisia. If things got too hairy, they'd be able to lend somewhat of a helping hand.

In the mean time, the remaining five-hundred ships broke from their normal patrol routes and headed to a rally point east of Italy. It would be their duty to secure the Eastern Mediterranian from foreign intervention.

Finally, Horatius' own expeditionary force was being assembled in Bruttium. Once they had consolodated and boarded ships, they would be shipped out to Tunisia for a swift invasion.

To All Friendly Nations;

We are looking for nations friendly to us to accept our young children during this time of war for safe keeping. We are not willing to risk the loss of the entire up-and-coming generation of ViZionarians over the aggressiveness of the hostile nations, including Doomingsland and any nations who enter this war on his behalf.

Once again, we are asking for any friendly nation whose land is safe and stable to accept our young generation, our children and young teenagers for safe keeping until this war ends.

Since we are unable to, you will need to send your own people, ships, and planes to help evacuate.

Thank you!

All across Tunisia, the loyalists and the rebels were engaging in battle. However, while many loyalists were busied with the rebels, countless millions were preparing for the invasion force of the hostile nations. After all, that was a given. Right?

Old, dated ships and submarines were launched to sea, ready to engage in a battle with hostiles at sea. While they knew their enemies were supperior in technology, given that for years now, the loyalists weaponary had remained largely unchanged, they did know one thing: The heart, the vigor, was there. They knew they were the first line of defense, and even if they were to ultimately loose the battle at sea, they must take down the majority of the hostile ships with them.

They did not know if there would be much in the way of allied intervention. While they knew that ViZion was always there for their allies in times of need, this would be the test of whole was truly a friend and ally of ViZion in ViZion's time of need, when ViZion's very survival was coming down to the next few major battles - on land, sea, and in the air.

So, knowing they could count on no one but eachother, they prepared for the begining of the last stand. Orders were given and recieved, and it would come down to the next day or two for those orders to be carried out.

The mountains of ViZion Italia were abuzz with activity. Bombs were being prepared, missile launchers stocked, camps abandoned. They were armed, preparing for battle.

Across the mountain range, traps were being setup, the Units breaking down into small groups, spread out and preparing for their individual duties, setting up their locations as they prepared for the revival of a war that had turned cold for five years.

"But, General, that..." stammered the CommOfficer.

"Excuse me, boy?! Did you just talk back to me?!" General Asherheim barked at the young man. "Officers, take this man away! And put the fucking plan in action! NOW!" he yelled in a demanding voice.

"Yes, sir!" they replied.

General Asherheim's order was clear: Sixteen old Ohio-class nuclear submarines, armed with nuclear Trident SLBM, are to be launched to sea from Angola to the Atlantic sea in just four hours. Their mission was simple: spread out across the Atlantic, keep moving. If needed, refuel and restock at Jarridia, and any nation that launches an invasion against ViZion into Africa is to recieve their full payload.

Absolutely. We can send aircraft/ships to aid with the evacuation. Give us a day in the future, and we will close down Esmund International Airport (our largest airport) for twenty four hours so that it can handle all incoming aircraft. All other airports are open, our seaports are open. We are willing to receive evacuees immediately.

"SIR! SIR! WE'VE DONE IT! WE'VE DONE IT!" screamed a MTE.

"You've cracked into the system?! EXCELLENT!" yelled the General. "Now. You better tell me we can take complete control of those fucking things and lock the main computers out of the system. Then move it over into an all-new system here. You can, right?" he demanded.

"Sir, we've already locked them out. Give us a few hours and we should have control of them all on a new network. The old network will then be axed. No not worry."

The loyalists had just taken back complete control of the ViZionarian satellite system that had been controlled in ViZion City and other locations in Italy. For the first time in five years, the ViZionarians had control once again of their own satellites. Now, it's only a matter of hours before it's all locked up in a new network in an underground location in Africa.

We will absorb as many as we can. We estimate for the time being perhaps five to ten million, as we just obtained some new land. We will use aircraft to evacuate those with medical conditions and others who need special care. Unfortunately, our recent conflict has left us with many refugees to care for, so we would appreciate it if any nation could donate food items, clothing, medical supplies and the like.

The Imperial Palace, Arrandin, Yallak

For the first time in many months, a majority of the High Council of Arrandin was present in the Imperial Capital, though the news that would be discussed today was not on the planned agenda. Another civil war was brewing in the nation of ViZion - one just wasn’t enough for some nations these days – and the time had come to decide whether or not the Empire would intervene.

All save one of the High Council was now gathered around large darkly stained timber table within the council meeting chamber. The room itself was a decent size and like the rest of the palace a masterpiece of craftsmanship. The floor was a smooth marble and the walls a light coloured stone, as if taken from some ancient temple. Evenly spaced around the perimeter of the room, stone pylons reached all the way to the roof.

From their black high backed chairs, each of the High Councilors read over the copy of the speech given recently by Hiro Ando V in ViZion. There could be no doubt that the fighting already being seen in New ViZion would begin to spread to an all out war in the near future, if it hadn’t already.

General Caracas, High Lord of Navarath began to address the council mere minutes after the last of them, the Emperor himself, Lord Balor, had arrived. If it came to a war, it would be the general that would lead the Empire’s Legions into battle against some of the most powerful and experienced enemies Yallak could face.

‘Since this statement from Hiro, we have been monitoring the Mediterranean and ViZion’s African territories,’ he began, activating a digital projector which depicted images onto a screen which had been pulled down at the far end of the table. ‘Since that time we observed bulk movements of the Doomingsland fleet in that area.’

‘So it has already begun,’ interjected the shadowy Imperial Chancellor, Lord Merrech, whose quiet speech always seems to reflect that of someone taking part in some secretive conspiracy. ‘We should act now. Strike before they have a chance to prepare further.’

A murmur of conversation began at the suggestion, some for the idea and others opposed, but the Emperor silenced them with a wave of hand and the general continued to speak.

‘Surprisingly enough, Lord Merrech is correct. If we are to help ViZion then now is the opportune moment. At the moment we have a wide opening to deploy our forces into the area before a defence can be prepared. If we delay, we risk this advantage.’

‘They are not our allies,’ declared Lord Baelin abruptly in response. The High Lord of Kilrah was foremost amongst those opposed to any intervention, being fairly conformist to the traditional Yallakian idea of ignoring the petty activities of lesser nations. Nor are any of the nations we would face our enemies. It was this last point that disturbed the Council.

Well, I would rather have ViZion in control of the Mediterranean than the other nations,’ countered the Emperor. ‘There will be time enough to discuss the matter further but we should begin to prepare regardless; assemble all available Legions and ready a fleet as soon as possible.’

Dear colleagues and patriots,
The Holy Empire of Dismiscus, being of sound nature and being extremely heavily armed and defended, officially allies itself with the nation of ViZion. We also hereby suspend any and all diplomatic and peaceful ties with any and all of it's enemies. ViZion is now our friend and in respect we pledge:

1. 4,000,000 Marine-bots* to aid in any defenses needed
2. 6000 Heavy transports and airships to aid in evacuations and/or attacks
3. 30,000 Support and Transport vehicles
4. 5000 Royal Commandos to aid in the protection of all ViZion leaders and their families

*A Marine bot is a mechanical version of a standard marine. They are fully capable and skilled. They are also impervious to most standard bullets and chemicals.

also,
Henceforth all of Dismiscus's Airports, ports and boarder crossings will be on High Alert pending any need for evacuees to come into our nation.

Any further assistance will be available upon request.

My complements to all of ViZion's leaders,
Thank you for your time,

Hiro looked puzzled, "That's great! But... who are they? None the less, thank you. Every bit of aid will help, we'll need it..." he said, mumbling.

"What was that, sir?" the young CommOff asked. Hiro glared back at him, "No DON'T call me sir! I am Hiro, I am a brother-in-arm with you, a fellow ViZionarian! Please, call me Hiro. And nevermind what I said, get back to work, we need to be ready for this!" Hiro said, giving him a slap on the back and a nod before turning around to look over all the paperwork and maps.

We ask that, when needed, those weapons not be used on ViZion's land - Africa or Italy - but rather on the capital of those hostile to us who wish to take our great nation over.

We are glad you are aiding us, and this shall not be forgotten.

"Correct sir. While military aid is out of the question, save perhaps in a rare few instances, this is an election year and a strong showing of foreign aid tends to look good to the electorate."
"The beans will scream, but that's nothing new. I assume you have plans I can provide to his Highness so he can approve them."
"As always."

We would be able to provide a safe haven for your women and children. In addition, if you can arrange a reliable method of shipping we would be able to provide certain bulk goods, basic medicines and vaccines for those citizens not engaged in the war.

OOC: Dismiscus, I assume you're new to NS, yes? When you attack someone (rather it be intentional, "hackers did it", or anything else), you cannot say "it hits them and kills XXX many" That's considered godmod. LAunching the attack, the other nation is responsible for saying rather it strikes them, where it strikes, and how many it killed if it strikes. So could you please edit your post and take out the part about it actually hitting them as so Doom can post what happens please? Thanks.

Also, guys, at this time no messages can reach Hiro at this time, as he's constantly moving and people aren't sure where he'll appear next...

"This is great! We are needing support from nations. This war is going to be a fucking BITCH!"

A short message was sent out to Asgarnieu.

Justin A. Herbert, we thank you for your support. Unfortunately, the letter you have sent cannot be recieved by Hiro at this time, as his where abouts is unknown. Once we find him, however, he will be immediately seated as Acting President until he is officially voted in by the people.

We urge you to be ready, as this war is going nowhere but to hell. I can assure you that your military will be needed in the coming days.

Thank you,

Minister A. Cidren,

Thank you for your willingness to aid our people. Our children and their mothers are currently located at all of our major seaports and airports across our African claims. Please help evacuate them immediately.

Unfortunately, we cannot arrange any shipments. All shipments - by sea, land, or air - will need to be arranged by you.

Thank you very much!

Official Apology

To the leaders of all nations involved in this conflict

I Muwatalli, Emperor of Dismiscus was ill in my home. Unfortunately my War department thought It would be wise to say we had some kind of "particle weapon". I am of course not sure what that is however, that is not the point.

The weapons misfire with Doomingsland was simply a shell misfiring from one of our cruisers and it did not hit Doomingsland rather it impacted onto a small raft floating close to the shore of southern Italy. I am deeply sorry for causing any kind of problems in the Mediterranean. I stand by my vow to support Hiro and ViZion however; and their enemies will surely fall!

I would also like to report to all that we are withdrawing our Marine-bots from conflict as they are prototype soldiers and have begun to malfunction.

"It seems we have a problem." Cidren commented to himself as he looked over P.G. Kilo's replied as he typed a reply, including some technical data* to facilitate evacuation.

As you are doubtlessly more aware of blockade patterns and other information than we, please inform us which of the included flight plans would minimize risk to both our pilots, planes and your citizens. In addition, as we are a land-locked nation that does not have an overland route to Africa, any suggestions on a shipping company that would be willing to ship the various supplies for no cost?

Unsure of what to make of the first message, they disregarded it, assuming they had managed to get off a distress call and hoping that everyone on that plane was alright.

After reviewing the second message, however, they were quite happy to hear that there would still be help on the way - albeit a small number. It would still help.

A quick reply was sent off;

As far as shipping companies are concerned, I cannot help you there. We don't know of any no-cost shipping companies, and unfortunately, as stated, we can't do the shipping ourselves.

Regarding the air routes, we would suggest going through the southern coastline of Angola or Tanzania. We will be keeping those areas open as long as possible - hopefully for the whole war.

Unfortunately, the majority of our shipments went to Italy and Tunisia before going out from there. And given the current situation in ViZion, there has been very little in the way of trade over the past 5 years, as we've been sustaining ourselves for the most part.

"Have you seen this yet, Sir?"

"Yes, I am already up to speed, Operation: Sopressata will commence in 3 hours" the old general replied after only glancing for a moment at the intelligence report his aide handed him.
...

It was late in the evening, near what once was a major Tyrador Air Force installation. The autumn air was crisp, and rank with the stench of cordite, pulverized concrete and jet fuel.

The last C-13 Jack Rabbit in possession of those free Tyradorian forces which are not loyal to an outside government was towed out of an abandoned warehouse onto a dimly lit stretch of a 4 lane road, in one of the Brooklyn districts that had not yet been rebuilt since the war. The divers hustled up the rear ramp of the The C-13, which was warming up it's engines.

1 airplane, 48 divers. That was all it would take to man and activate the 12 abandoned concrete submarines at the bottom of the Mediterranean. It would be a one way trip for the divers, so they had better get the co-ordinates right before they submerged into the cold depths. The divers checked their gear and stepped up into the belly of their aircraft. The Jack Rabbit's engines roared and then the unsightly aircraft rumbled down the makeshift runway, careful to avoid the hulks of burnt out cars which littered it, as it made its way across.
Once the C-13 became airborne and headed out to sea, the afterburners kicked in, accelerating the semi-stealth cargo aircraft to a relative speed of mach 2.8 in just under 10 minutes. Within a few hours, the divers would be over southern Europe and insert clandestinely into the black depths of the sea.

Hiro reviewed the list of nations who have pledged support to ViZion while he lay sleepless in the bushes along with some of his newly found friend. Hmm... he thought, Where is our support? Where are all of our allies? So few have pledged any sort of support to us. Hell, most haven't even offered to evacuate our children.

This is going to show the true colors of our allies. ViZion has always been there to help whenever possible, rather it be allies or nations we've never had contact with, when they've been threatened by anything or any nation. We've always pledged our military aid, humanitarian aid, anything needed.

And to see this? The true colors of our allies are showing. We'll now know who our TRUE allies and friends are, as opposed to those who only call us allies and use us as a name to throw around, or if they need us. This is sad... very sad.

He turned over, trying to fall asleep. But he couldn't... ViZion was in the midst of what could be its last stand as an independant nation. If ViZion were to fall, what would happen to its people? Surely many millions, even billions, would be killed off, knowing just how loyal the ViZionarians are, and how much heart they have for this great country and their fellow citizens.

As the morning sun arose, Hiro had managed an hour of sleep. It had been a little cold in the night, but alas, that did not matter. He was not going to go and hide like some leaders would. He's going to be on the battle field, living the life of everyone else. There is no secret cave, no cozy office, no warm coffee for him.

He and the six men walked together. While it would be another half an hour before they come to a town, they passed camps and other groups walking, usually picking up followers who would walk with them.

It would be only a matter of time before he would be giving another speech in the next town. And he hoped there would be more camera's, so he could speak to all ViZionarians once again.

Official Open Viceregal Edict - Office of the Vicereine
The Eternal Republic of Xirnium

Tárië Aicassë Laë Nainányéna! – Until the End of Time!
To:

The Comity of Nations

From:

Lady Victoria Seriendé
Vicereine of the Xirniumite State
The Eternal Republic of Xirnium

It is with untold grief and sorrow that the Eternal Republic has learned of the untimely passing of President Kelly Vickson, popularly-elected leader of the ViZionarian government-in-exile. Ms Vickson’s violent demise has shocked both I and the people of Xirnium, and on behalf of the Xirniumite State I extend to her family and friends our sincerest condolences.

The Xirniumite Republic has found herself both alarmed and concerned with the increasingly disturbing series of developments concerning ViZionarian Tunisia. The spectre of war now appears to loom large over Africa and the Mediterranean, due to the irresponsible and aggressive actions of certain belligerent parties, and the grave threat of a humanitarian and human rights disaster has compelled the Government of Xirnium to act.

In the interests of preserving the welfare and safety of numberless ViZionarian civilians who now risk being caught in the indiscriminate crossfire of callous aggressors, the Xirniumite Parliament has passed into law an Act granting asylum to the people of ViZion. In doing so, every conceivable effort shall be made to ensure that families evacuated from peril are kept together. It is our fervent hope that as many ViZionarian nationals as possible shall flee from danger to the safe haven of the Eternal Republic.

On behalf of the Xirniumite State, I call on all relevant parties to discontinue any hostile activities with respect to ViZionarian Tunisia and to demonstrate some small measure of compassion and restraint in their actions.

[Signed]

Her Serene Excellency
The Most Noble and Puissant Lady Victoria Seriendé
Vicereine and Head of State of the Eternal Republic of Xirnium

Hiro stood atop a low balcony in the small towns city hall, a crowd of about 4,000 people filling the street to see this young man, who was rapidly becoming a legandary hero across ViZion.

"Fellow citizens of ViZion! The enemy is preparing! They will likely begin their strike against us sometime within the next one or two days!

These rebels that have rose up from seemingly nowhere, killing thousands in their senseless acts of violence? They have been supplied by, organized by the hostile nations that wish to take our grand country over, killing anyone that opposes them!

Now, most of our allies, the ones we have worked hard with, aiding them in their times of need, having our own men killed in battle, our own supplies sent to them whenever they need it, have seemingly vanished, abandoning us!

Where have they gone in our darkest hours? Our greatest times of need? They have left us, ignored our plees for help, your plees, my plees, our governments plees. They ignore us. Now, it is just us and a very select few nations, including our greatest ally of all time, the Jarridians!

It is, however, up to us, as ViZionarians, to fight off those who seek to kill us, take us over! We must fight them off, push them out of our lands! Then, we must rebuild!

I promise you! Should we stick together, should we, as brothers-in-arms, as common people of this great country of ViZion, unite together and fight, we will be victorious!

And I swear to those nations who are so-called "allies" of ours, so called "friends" of ours who have turned their backs on us. They shall no longer recieve ANYTHING from us! No longer will we sent our people to die in battle to help them! No longer shall we sent our hard-earned money and supplies we have laboured over to create to them at their requests!

We have ALWAYS been there for those nations, and in turn, we are shunned from them, ignored by them in our darkest hours! No longer shall we aid them, no longer shall our name and theirs be spoken in the same sentence along with allies!

ViZionarians! It is up to us, as brothers-in-arms and common citizens of this country to unite and fight! Our fate rests on every one of your backs! To victory we shall march! Brothers we are!

ViZion! UNITE!

The crowd roared to life, cheering and whistling and chanting "Hiro! Hiro! Hiro!" and "ViZion! Unite! ViZion! Unite!"

While there was no camera crew, individuals had their cameras, recording his speech. In only hours, these recordings would be recieved by the worlds press, and played across the globe and throughout ViZion.

"Sir, Findan has launched their attack!" reported a CommOff.

"Say what? Findan has launched an attack? Aaginst who?" replied the General.

"We think Doomingsland. Shall we commence?" inquired the CommOff.

"Yes, commence. Damn, and I was hoping we would be the FIRST to strike at them. FIRE NOW! ORDER THE LAUNCHINGS! BEGIN THE STRIKE!" the General demanded.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------
The submarines were ready, their nuclear torpedo's loaded for the past few hours.

"Sir, they've ordered the attack!"

Within a moment, four nuclear torpedo's were launched, headed for Doomingsland's smaller fleet.

Another moment, another wave of four. Three waves of four over a three minute span were launched, the latter two waves launched towards Doomingsland's larger fleet.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Above water, the ships and land forces recieved the same order.

Three thousand F-22A's and three thousand JSF fighters were ordered into the sky, their payloads being mostly non-nuclear missiles. However, there were some light-load nuclear missiles that were to be launched at the Doomingsland ships and land forces.

Ten thousand missiles from Tunasia and the surrounding ViZionarian naval forces in the sea, in a single wave, were launched simoltaniously with the nuclear missiles. Their target: the Doomingsland naval forces.

Five minutes later, another wave - this time of one thousand missiles - was launched. Five minutes later, a wave of five thousand missiles were launched.

It had begun...

"What the fuck do you mean we've lost them!" he demanded.

"I mean... they're gone!" the CommOff reported.

"Holy fuck...." is all the General could manage.

Gibraltar

'Ugh.' Fleet Admiral Terrington scoffed as he watched the satellite updates to the ongoing conflict.

'Seal off the Gibraltar.'

'It will be done, sir.' the Naval Officer replied and gave the orders to seal off the Strait.

Destroyers and cruisers sailed the short distance out of the harbour to take up blockade positions, behind the Rock somewhat, so as to keep in range of its formidable AA umbrella. Six battleships, the Gibraltar Flotilla, under HMS Invincible, sailed out and began their blockade also behind the rock, so their artillery could shoot over the fortress port while being partially covered by it. Furthermore, the twelve triple 56cm turrets and the sixteen triple 35cm turrets on the fortress turned to face the entrance into the mediterannean, and RADAR and AA systems that had been on standby for the duration of the incident came online, the OTH radar and its GPS arrays standing ready.

Aircraft from the aircraft carrier Opportune and Obdurate in the Mediteranean itself were ready on the decks and some shot off into the distant skies to began their CAP, joined by aircraft from the carrier Orion in the port itself.

The submarines in the port faced towards the entrance, and together with supercavitating torpedoes and rocket torps from the frigates and destroyers, they would be able to lay down around 250 supercavitating torpedoes through the small 40 mile gap.

Thirty frigates out from Gibraltar provided initial picket ASW and AA defence, backed up by ten destroyers and then another fifteen frigates, spread 60 miles out. The battleships lining the deepened Gibraltar could turn their turrets either way, and on either side of their battlegroup twelve frigates and ten destroyers provided further picket defence. Again, in front of them, eight cruisers would also provide anti shipping assistance, and behind the battleships, a repeat of the forces laid out in the front of Gibraltar, with the two carrier battlegroups stationed not far off.

The Gibraltar was closed, the Union Jack was raised over Gibraltar once more, and Questarian naval power was coming into effect.

Malta

At Malta, the battlegroup centred around HMS North Borneo began to sail out, some eighty ships with two battleships and six cruisers, to clear the East Med and Suez from enemy forces. They would meet up in south italy from a similar sized battlegroup from Venice and proceed to assault the Suez in a bid to close it, sealing the Mediterranean for the colonial forces.

The Med

The Dismiscus fleet had been picked up adn watched as it has passed through Gibraltar, and the situation had not been critical until now, so they had been allowed through. Terrington was kicking himself. Never matter, he would destroy them, and if he didn't, Moor-Walker's fleet would.

Twenty Supermarine Shearwaters took off from Malta, lifting up swiftly to 30,000 feet, and thirty of the same mark aircraft - the Su-148NG-12s, from Gibraltar, and another fifty from Questarian-controlled Italy, and they were guided to their target by three Su-148ACAGs, AWACS aircraft some 50,000 feet up and 150km away from the Dimiscus fleet. Launching before their detection from the range of a CAP, or any naval RADAR, the 100 naval bombers each launched a pair of the power AS-38 missiles 650km, two hundred kilometres from their maximum range, giving plenty of fuel for manevouring. Each missile would accelerate, eventually, to Mach 4.4 and hit at a similar speed, delivering a gigantic 350kg payload. All missiles were targeted at the carriers.

While the Shearwaters were in the air, a further eighty torpedo bombers were launched from Malta and the battlegroup carriers there. They fired their payloads at the same time as the Shearwaters, some 400km away as they skimmed the sea surface, jet engines throwing up water. Each launched a single missile targeted at the battleships - an ASROC torpedo. This would sea skim until fifty km away, where it would dive underwater and detonate its 300kg warhead at 600 knots under the waterline.

IC:

The naval forces within the blockade quickly picked up the massive missile launch from Vizionarian forces. It was hard not to; one does not just not see 10,000 missiles. It was absolutely mind boggling to the sailors of the Imperial Mediterranian Fleet just how this backward mudhole of a state had managed to stockpile such an arsenal; they were, of course, forgetting that the Imperial conquest of Italy had been only a portion of Vizion.

A good portion of the Vizionarian Army was still intact, and had been rebuilt.

When the missiles were identified as Tommahawks, the captains of the various vessels were somewhat disappointed. And relieved. The Tommahawk missile was possibly the most widely used cruise missile on the face of the planet, and the Empire had thus faced it countless times in battle. Its performance had always been less than spectacular, and it would be no different this time around.

Well, there was one wild card in the mix this time around. Nuclear tipped missiles. The Vizionarian warheads had a yield of ten kilotons, enough to put a battleship out of action. Of course, there was only ten of them. That was not enough to destroy even a decent portion of the fleet by any stretch of the imagination.

The incoming wave of missiles was initialy met by thousands upon thousands of anti-missiles. A good portion of the subsonic Tommahawks were blown out of the sky right then and there; they made easy targets for the vastly more advanced Doomani missiles. The ones that made it through quickly found themselves in no better a situation.

Literally tens of thousands of 105mm AHEAD rounds fired from almost forty miles away burst into the swarm of missiles. The deadly rounds showered the formations with literally millions of tungsten flechettes, ripping missiles apart left and right. As the missiles past through this near-solid wall of flak, rolling airframe missiles began to collide with the formation. By now there were nowhere near 10,000 missiles left: they would be lucky if there was even more than one thousand by now. The vast majority had been taken down.

The RAM missiles began to hit the Tommahawks with lethal precision, blowing them out of the sky with ease. Even then the flak hadn't let up: 105mm and now 6" and 5" AHEAD rounds fell at a disturbing rate.

Finally, the missiles reached the seven mile mark: 37mm CIWS guns began to open up with their own AHEAD rounds, totally filling the air with the buckshot-like cannon rounds.

When the smoke cleared only a few of the missiles actualy made in through. Twenty vessels reported being hit; only twelve of them actualy went down under. Of course, the same could not be said of the heavy cruiser Gaius Marius and the battleship Augustus.

These two vessels were the unlikely vessels of something the Empire had not experienced in decades. Nuclear attack.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Empire's nuclear war doctrine is quite clear: any and all nuclear weapons used against Imperial property constitute immediate nuclear retaliation. They would not break that policy this day; with the detection of fourteen seperate nnuclear blasts (including that of the torpedoes and cruise missiles), the nuclear deterrant based on Sicily immediately went to work.

Twenty short-range missiles carrying one hundred megaton thermonuclear warheads were launched from several facilities on Sicily, targetting New Vizion (twenty were launched to allow for a much better chance of one of the missiles actualy hitting the target). Anti-satellite missiles were launched simultaneously from bases on Italy along with brilliant pebbles-esque kinetic kill weapons at the newly liberated Vizionarian satellite network.

The occupying powers had the locations of all of the Vizionarian satellites, as they had previously operated them, so targetting them took no amazing feat of strength.

In addition to the anti-satellite action, the Vizionarian missile defenses were targetted by no less than five thousand supersonic cruise missiles equipped with both penetrating warheads and munitions dispensors in order to overwhelm them and prevent them from targetting the massive warhead.

Finally, in order to counter the threat of the Vizionarian airforce, no less than three thousand fighters were launched from bases in Sicily and Italy, preparing for a swift and terrible strike on their planes in the air. In addition, fifteen hundred medium bombers also prepared to strike enemy airfields and air defenses. Finally, a fleet of three hundred strategic bombers prepared to launch to deliver a crushing blow.

When one of the warheads hit, it would be an air burts, and vaporize the other incoming warheads. Of course, it would also completely vaporize twenty square miles of the city in its massive fireball, and cause varrying degrees of damage for one hundred miles (blowing over structures, killing people, burning things, et cetera).

OOC:Findan...you never actualy RPed sending any forces to Vizion, you just had your emperor make some announcement. I'll RP my fleet's actions when you respond to that.

And, also, for the record, Vizion and I worked out this nuclear attack before hand, he's cool with me glassing his capital, but we both decided that there will be NO FURTHER NUCLEAR ESCALATION for the remainder of this RP. That goes for everyone.

IC:

The five-hundred strong section of the Mediterranian Fleet that was not taking part in the blockade had successfully assembled south of Greece in the Mediterranian. They would soon commence anti-fleet patrol actions in the Eastern Mediterranian, leaving the western half to the Questarians.

In addition, Legatus Legionis Horatius' army had finished assembling on Sicily, concealed in various hidden underground facilities throughout the island; there were, of course, other units of Horatius' army assembling in underground staging areas in the toe of Italy as well. Once naval supremacy had been achieved, they would board landing vessels and land in Tunisia.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Italia Doomanum

The rocket attacks by Vizionarian insurgents had been maringally successful. They had caught numerous firebases and other facilities totally off-guard, catching many Legionaries out in the open. The attacks on Capua had been slightly less successful; the missile defense network around the Procurator's Palace and the city itself had held up, with the exception of a few bomblets landing in a courtyard, showing the surrounding buildings with shrapnel.

Roughly three thousand Imperial soldiers had been wounded in the attack with another two-hundred fifty being killed in the initial strike. Of course, this prompted an immediate response.

Counter-battery RADARs, were, of course, installed in all of the fire bases in the event of attacks such as this. Because of this, when the initial bombardments let up, artillery crews were able to man their howitzers and quickly return fire on the positions that the enemy MRLs had occupied when they had fired.

In addition, Imperial MLRS systems rained a combination of munitions dispensors and VX warheads on the insurgent positions.

The large amount of UAVs now in the air would allow for the rockets to be targetted more easily, allowing for them to hopefully hit insurgent hide-outs with VX gas and kill a decent portion. Roughly three-thousand rockets had been launched in retaliation, with one third being loaded with chemical warheads, in addition to the thousands of howitzers that had returned fire.

A bloody counter-insurgency campaign was soon to follow...

Najaster, Capital of Kahanistan

Hall of the Supreme Soviet

The war in ViZion had flared up again. If intelligence was accurate, the Suez Canal which provided a large portion of Kahanistanian shipping was soon to be rendered unusable. There were numerous calls for intervention, especially from the Kahanistanian Socialist Party, which detested Doomingsland and everything it stood for. They would love nothing more than to smack them into the ground and repair their image in the international community.

"What have we been developing new tactics for? Why have we imported all these new surface-to-air missiles, made a deal with Isselmere to produce warships, imported Praetonian warships... if not to wipe CAD off the face of the earth?" asked Senator Mahmoud Mohammed Amir, one of the most militant members of the Socialist Party. "We could easily crush the Doomingslandians right here, keep our trade routes open, and even make Kraven think twice about messing with us! Why don't you understand?" The Senator took off his shoe and slammed it repeatedly on his desk, Khrushchev-style.

Senator Maribel Crowley, the head of the Armed Forces and Defense Committee, dissented. As a Satanist, she would have had the most reason to despise the Doomies; from what she knew, her faith was persecuted mercilessly, if it existed at all over there. She wasn't sure.

"You talk about making Kraven think twice, they brazenly stabbed AMF in the back after we were removed from the Kraven conflicts. Kraven is not rational, not the same way CAD or AMF are. We have a Kraven warfleet closing in on us now, we cannot fight off Kraven AND a CAD invasion at the same time. Yes, we should help ViZion. No, we cannot spare the troops. In fact, since we were bombed simply for stating our political opposition to CAD, I am afraid to even speak diplomatically."

"We were bombed because some idiot decided it would show how big their balls were and not how thick their head was to ask MassPwnage and Doomingsland to surrender to us," said Amir angrily. "I'm sure we can spare production rights to our designs, or even funding."

"Very well," said Crowley. "All in favor of allocating half a billion shekels from the defense budget to aid ViZion, say aye."

More than two thousand and two hundred of the three thousand members of the Supreme Soviet said aye. The bill had passed with 73% of the vote.

That night, half a billion Kahanistanian shekels were wired to the ViZionarian resistance through a secure channel. The Foreign Minister also issued a greatly watered-down statement of support for ViZion.

The Government of Kahanistan condemns the use of nuclear weaponry against civilian populations as a form of state terrorism. We urge that a peacekeeping force be stationed in the areas affected by the current hostilities, composed of members of the armed forces of all combatant nations. Further, we advise that an interim government be installed in ViZion City following the procedures of government specified in the Constitution of ViZion in force at the time of the beginning of the first ViZion Civil War.

In a show of force, the WPS-1A Satellite targeted an area just 100 feet away from the head of the Blackhelm fleet, and calculated the travel distance and time. Cell 1A1 opened and fired its boronated tungsten steel alloy projectile. It burned throught the atmosphere, and struck just in front of the Blackhelm fleet. A column of water 200 meters high rushed into the air ahead of the Blackhelm fleet.

The next projectile would not be a warning shot.

Jagada
04-11-2006, 07:30
{New Christendom, The Republic}

The decision was a hard one to make. Jagada had always preached tolerance, fairness, equality, and religious freedom -- yet it could not bring itself to support ViZion. No, not because ViZion was an evil nation – in fact no Jagite had ever heard of ViZion and it was more alien to them then the Papacy. It was the prospect of entering the war for Jagada's always present priority, and that was expansion. The Republic needed resources, fuels, metals, rich agricultural lands to continue to fuel its booming economy. Lacking any of these was potentially hazardous to the economy. Beyond that, Jagada had friendly relations with Questers and only wished to improve upon this. Though one nation has caught the Republic's attention and that was Doomingsland, a Catholic Theocracy. Rumors had always abounded about the supremacy of Doomingsland over the Catholic World. Though how would react when approached for friendship by a nation of many, if not all religions -- bar Satanism and the Order of the Third Eye. One more key element caused Jagada to sway towards helping the occupiers -- nine straight military defeats, Riyabou was determined to keep its nine for a tenth was of no benefit to her or the Monotheistic Republic. Of coarse there were more religious reasons.

The War Council had already been assembled since anything militarily involving Jagada had to be taken to the most serious degree. This meant that none of those assigned by Congress were absent at the meeting -- so strictly and harshly was it enforced that if any Council member refused to participate for any reason that was politically motivated then they were immediately imprisoned without trail for an minimum of ten years, strip of their citizenship, and exiled once they were released from prison. Of coarse the Highest Minister was the Chairmen/woman of the Committee for obvious reasons, and the Riyabuo Kalia was present.

'The situation is never good,' she said defiantly at Admiral Togashi Tôtarô Masanaga's openly statement of the bleakness of intervention on either side. Her comment only got her nods from everyone -- rarely had the situation been good for Jagada.

Senator Kitagaki Sanekazu, a Traditionalist, pointed to the Vizionarian holdings in Africa, which consisted of some minor colony in North Africa and a straight of land across the southern portions of the Dark Continent, 'The situation in Tunisia is already hopeless for the Vizionarians. There are reports of nuclear weaponry already being used by both sides, those sides being the Vizionarians and Doomings. Questers has attack the Suez and sealed the Mediterranean at Gibraltar -'

'So we're assured that Tunisia is going to fall then, the Occupiers will then seek to punish the Vizionarians viciously for this incident,' interjected Riyabuo looking at the various blinking movement lights on the wide-screen monitor that accompanied them in the room. The Doomings were yellow, Questers blue, Vizion red, and Jagada, once they chose which side to join, would be green. The digital map already had a green dot blinking at the very corner of the map -- the RS-177, a small frigate-sized vessel deployed to the very outskirts of the region for monitoring the situation.

'If we intervened on Vizionarians side, what are our chances?' asked Riyabuo after a minute of silent concentration. The looks on the various War Council members’ faces showed it all; they wanted to help Vizion, they really did, but they all knew the Republic wasn't going to stand a chance against Questers, Doomingsland, Preatoria, and MassPwnage. It'd be a slaughter for Jagada. Finally Battle Lord Toda Shinkurô Katakage, the overall under Riyabuo of the Jagite Armed Forces gave her the bleak news, 'Madame Minister, I can only say this. If you involve us on Vizion's side, I can only promise that this country will die swiftly from nuclear hellfire or the slow advance of the Occupier's boots across our own territory. We can not stand up to them,' he said before his eyes looked down, '...for now.'

Highest Minister Riyabuo Kalia nodded at the grim news. She could sacrifice the very morals upon which the Republic was founded to accomplish the wider strategic mission or she could stick to the Republic's morals and in the end loose the Republic itself. Occupation was a taboo word in Jagada, and it was a bitter, almost blasphemous, word following the Extermination War. She looked over at Reverend Munekage with worried eyes -- he must have read her eyes, 'God gives us freedom of will, weather or not that was a mistake it for theologians, the fact is that we have it and now you must use it.'

'Reverend ... does God consider betraying everything you proclaim to be for the purpose of survival and betterment to be blasphemy?' she questioned. The Reverend did not answer right away but her eyes once against betrayed her and told him what she was thinking, 'Sometimes the mercy of God must be brought by thunder and fire.' No one else in the room understood what they were talking about, or if they did they did not understand.

Riyabuo sighed, 'I make a motion that we intervene upon the side,' she held her breath before giving another long sigh, '... of the occupiers.'

Reverend Munekage immediately seconded the motion, and the vote passed without incident. A bitter moment it was -- but perhaps not all was lost.

{Inn Shipyards, The Republic}

Twisted and purely industrial the city of Inn sat on the shores of the Monotheistic Republic as a painful image of what humans will do when they allow fear to control them. Inn wasn't a city in the normal sense of the word, for not one lived inside of it -- but there were virtually people working inside of it around the clock. Thousands of factories, oil refineries, power plants, chemical and biological plants inhabited the city with dozens of other industrious sorts of complexes all across the nearly one-hundred square mile large city. Though these factories were different from others, for each one of them were armored or protected to some degree. The oil refineries had two layer of steel reinforced concrete, with the top half of the sphere covered in a solid plate of two-inch thick steel armor. Biological and chemical plants carried similar reinforcement tools and equipment. If this wasn't enough there were two million men of the Republican Army stationed inside of the city with thousands of tanks and armored personnel carriers as troops controlled the city as if it were under martial law. Jets screamed above the city on their hourly patrols while helicopters stayed in the air the entire time. Hundreds of anti-aircraft weapons, accompanied by anti-missile platforms and regular flak cannons discouraged even the heaviest of bombers from flying over the city barring any kind of hostile feelings. If this were not enough and the bombing was too intense, the city had dozens upon dozens of rail tunnels under it that led out of the city all the products the city managed to keep producing would be shipped to other parts of the country -- even if Inn was under siege. These tunnels were also reinforced with concrete and steel.

Any foreign would call the Jagites absolutely mad for constructing this monster of a city. To Grand Admiral Tsugaru Daigorô Kazumasa it was more than mad, it was border lining a serious nation-wide psychological disorder -- and he liked that. All of Jagada's industries were located in the city of Inn, most under the country of Inn Industrial the monopolistic mega-corporation that the government had managed to get on their side for at least a year now. It seemed only logical to make the city a virtual fortress and that is what it exactly was. Anyone hoping to bomb Inn would be wasting their time, for it would cost their entire war budget to completely turn to rubble, taking it on ground was suicidal, and a nuclear assault on it would probably do massive damage, but since all the buildings were reinforced and there was just so many of them the military aspects of the economy, the parts needed to continue the war, would be capable of continuing -- then agian, anyone who launched a nuclear strike on Jagada would be returned the favor in form of nearly a thousand Fable-class nuclear ICBMs. Essentially taking Inn was impossible at the moment, also because no one had ever tried to take the city.

Thus Inn was the perfect place to set sail in Kazumasa's opinion. He was already on his flagship, the Storm-Class Dreadnaught JGFS 困難, and was overseeing the organize of the Armada that the Grand Navy had assembled for him. He had about three fleets under his command, giving him command of roughly just over a thousand warships. He looked down at his personnel TACPC (Tactical PC) and reviewed the objectives of his campaign against the Vizionarians; they seemed simple and straight forward. Of coarse he would change that since the Vizionarians had a larger population and thus a stronger economy which would allow them to put more ships to sail than his own. Though as he pressed onto the screen with his index finger, bringing up the map of Vizionarian Africa, dubbed 'Farmer Paradise' for intelligence reasons, he felt disgust in him. He didn't even know Vizion existed until now and his quick overview of their history gave him little to work with, nor did the reasons supplied to him sufficient to make him believe what he was doing was noble. The Vizionarians only wanted what was theirs and what was stolen from them by foreigners -- much like Old Jagada had been stolen from his people by the godless Kravenites, may they burn forever.

'None of that matters,' he muttered to himself. He was a Grand Admiral, he didn't have an opinion, he had an objective and he had to complete that objective effectively.

His TACPC flared to life as three grey circles in the upper left hand portion of the screen with the words 'Signal Communications' all blinking green. The three fleets were ready. Thus Jagada intervened into the war.

To: The Holy Empire of Doomingsland
From: Alfred Rednight, Foreign Ministry

Greetings and may the Lord Bless you,

I am sure you haven't heard of us, the Monotheistic Republic of Jagada. Though like yourselves we are a theocracy, save we tend to follow more democratic principles. Then again, you're probably not interested to hear what we are, how we operate, or any such thing.

So I'll get to the point. Jagada is going to intervene into this conflict for matters the pertain to the Monotheistic Republic, we would like to, however, establish decent relations with the Holy Empire of Doomingsland so that we may work in co-operation for the purposes of putting down this Vizionarian aggression and promptly securing Africa for nations whom are more ... civilized and pure.

I await your reply.

His actual thoughts were: "I'm gonna give those bastards a fight they'll never forget. They'll be shitting outta new assholes when I'm through with them."

He turned from hs window and called for his secretary. "Miss Spelling, get hold of Vlad, Vyossae, and Schneider. Have them beam here in fifteen minutes. Get hold of Gen. Alaric smiled. 'I think I'm gonna like this guy', he thought.........

All were assembled in the Situation Room far below the main section of the Emperor's Palace. Vlad of The Grey Phoenix, Schneider of the Grey Legions, Vyossae of the Black Katanas, with the Emperor himself representing the forces of Xeraph. The new Supreme Xeraphian Commander, Frank Willard, was seated to the right of the Emperor.

"Gentlemen, you have all been briefed on the situation in ViZion," Alaric began. "I've ordered a naval task force to the waters off of ViZion with directives to coordinate operations with the Jarridian forces. There are at present more than enough military personnel there to deal with the rebels. I've decided that we are going to pursue our goals a little differently than we have in the past.

In the past, you have all commanded your own national forces in any endevor concerning the Empire. However, with the threat of Azulun and his manic obsession to destroy Xeraph at any cost hanging over our heads, I have decided to bulk up our HomeLand Defense operations by keeping all Imperial national forces at high alert on our own territory. Only Xeraph itself will enter the fray concerning the liberation of ViZion from the usupers.

Our current miltary roll is standing right at 75 million personnel, or 1.75% of overall Xeraphian population. I will be mobilizing 6 million naval, air, and ground troops which include approximately 1.5 million support personnel, leaving us with 4.5 million active combat units. As of an hour ago, about 76,000 are deployed to ViZion to include all service branches. That'll leave us about 3.7 million to be utilized elsewhere."

With a gleam in his eye and a smile on his face, Gen. Willard said, "Elsewhere, m'lord?"

"Yes General......elsewhere." Turning to the leaders of the Imperial nations seated around the table, he said, "Vlad, you, President Schneider, and Prince Vyossae are going to command Xeraphian troops in this war against the scum who have set their faces against ViZion. You are all battle-hardened leaders, and this is a very serious situation. I want the best, and your'e it."

Vyossae and Schneider glanced at each other, then Vyossae said, "Command us, Alaric. You have but to ask and we'll do our best."

"Good. You, Vyossae, will be Overlord of the Royal Navy, and you, President Schneider, will be Overlord of the Royal Airforce."

Vlad asked, "And me, Alaric?"

"Vlad, my friend, you are going to work with General Willard in coordinating the ground offensive against Doomingsland, Praetonia and the rest of the occupation forces in ViZion's African territories."

You could hear a pin drop. Vlad spoke up. "Alaric, Praetonia is a Xeraphian ally. Has been for a very long time."

"Yes, I know all about Praetonia. I'm going to give them the opportunity to reconsider their position in this conflict. It will be through diplomatic channels with the Ambassadors talking directly with each other. The Praetonian government knows full well that what theyr'e doing is a serious violation of international law. I don't want to fire on a long-standing ally, but ViZion is one of our original allies, and I won't allow anyone to screw around with them."

"So basically we're going to attack four nations simultaneously...is that what your'e saying, m'lord?" This from Willard.

"No, General, just three. I'm leaving Tunisia alone for now. We or someone else can deal with Tunisia later. We're going to concentrate on the other three that run from east to west across the African continent." He noted very carefully each of their expressions, and was satisfied that they were behind him.

"Here's how we're gonna do it......"

The harbor was abuzz with activity. Every wharf was at its maximum capacity for ships. Soldiers, troop transports, supply trucks and even small supply ships darted between the mighty Imperial warships secured at the port, ferrying personnel and cargo to their needing locations, while cranes hauled large crates or munitions off the wharves and up onto the waiting vessels.

Offshore was no different either, with multiple vessels anchored out on the harbor. Nor was such a sight just contained to the base at Telún, but it was occurring at practically every naval base across the Southern Coast of the Empire.

Onboard one the massive heavy battleships anchored in the depths of the port, Fleet Commander Minaith, the officer who would have lead the war effort to aid ViZion last time had he not been ordered to stand down by the Emperor, was making his way through the bowels of his battlegroups command ship, the IYS Soulblighter. As he did, the relative silence of the ship was interrupted by the vessels intercom crackling to life.

Commander Minaith to the bridge, Commander Minaith to the Bridge!

‘Yeah, I’m coming,’ he said quietly to himself as he turned the last corner before the bridge and covered the remaining few meters of stark metallic gray corridors to step through the already open bridge door. ‘Report,’ he demanded, drawing the attention of the gathered crew and officers, who professionally snapped to attention at their superior’s arrival.

‘All sections have just confirmed they are good to go,’ answered the ships Captain, Melîas. Although he was a few years older than the commander, the age gap wasn’t particularly noticeable in physical appearance and both men (and of course their uniforms) were in top shape. ‘Our supplies are all aboard and we have a full load of ordinance,’ finished the Captain, returning to his casual stance.

‘Start it up then, and inform the fleet we will be leaving within the hour. We need to get through the Dardanelles before a defence is prepared,’ ordered Minaith, his voice filled with impatience and enthusiasm. The commander had been anticipating this moment since he had first been informed of the situation, and he wanted nothing to delay his part in the coming war, and a second chance at leading a vast Imperial fleet against the enemies of the Empire.

As his orders were carried out, the silence of the ship faded, slowly being replaced by the dull sound of the battleships nuclear reactors building in power output. Across the dockyard, other ships began to do the same as the loading of ammunition and supplies was coming to an end. The Empire was almost ready to strike.

Open Statement to the World by President James Anderson of the United States of Independent Hitmen

“Ladies and Gentlemen of the press, esteemed citizens and members of the world community today it is my not so proud duty to speak of the current conflict that appears to be rife in our old ally of Vizion. For those of you who are not familiar Vizion was our ally during the times of the NOW and more recently in the cold-war struggles against Guffingford and Bob-bob to name but a few. Lately we have fallen out of touch but that is no excuse to lose our alliance, the treaty still stands as far as we are concerned and the renewal date is not for some ten years hence.”

“Unfortunately one of our newer friends stands opposed to Vizion. The Empire of Questers, whom many of you know provide our military with almost all of its supergrade capital ships and several of our carriers have taken a stance against Vizion. Now this puts me in a predicament and obviously the use of military force is completely ruled out as we have allies and friends on both sides of this…unfortunate conflict. I have therefore instructed the State Department to establish diplomatic conversation with both affected nations in this….dispute, shall we say, in order to draw a conclusion that does not involve bloodshed.”

“However. We know that the Vizionary leader considers himself to be at war and has asked for humanitarian assistance to evacuate innocents from any potential areas of conflict and we shall of course answer that call. When have the Hitmen ever left allies to fend for themselves? The answer is never my friends, it is not our way and God willing never shall be our way. We will not shirk from our duty we will help all we can and if necessary they will be brought back here so that they may live in a safe environment, completely free of the threat of war. I have therefore instructed my military commanders to draw up plans for assisting in large scale humanitarian work, now I use my military commanders because we need to ensure security for our workers in such a climate and we will.”

“Now this is a message to both sides of this dispute. If any humanitarian workers are killed or wounded on purpose by either side we will look extremely dimly on those who are responsible. The Hitmen will not take offensive military action, for the moment, but we are determined that our old allies in Vizion will not be abandoned to a cruel fate and we will ensure the defence of any Hitmen citizens that are sent into the area by our government.”

“All Hitmen passport holding tourists and visa holders in the areas affected have been advised by the State Department to leave and they will receive priority on the flights out that are being arranged along with those citizens of our close ally Stevid. This travel warning does not extend to the nations of Questers, Doomingsland, Praetonia and Findan, however its extension to these countries is highly dependent upon any future of nuclear weapons or other strategic strike options.”

“On the subject of IH shipping currently in the Med we expect our merchant fleets to be left unhindered. Currently we have little actual Navy presence there due to our current ship cycle periods and we have ordered the one Surface Action group in the Med to avoid all combatants and we expect the combatants to show us similar respect. Attacks on those vessels WILL be considered an act of war against the whole of the United States of Independent Hitmen so please ensure that no attacks occur.”

“Thank you for your attention”

Private Communique to the Acting President of Vizion

We cannot give you direct military support due to the alliances that we have in place, however we can offer you and your people safety from the situation you find yourselves in. We will begin evacuating civilians as soon as we can, however that will be limited to aircraft at the moment due to the Questerian blockade that is about to descend on the Med.

With regards your government and Hiro’s safety we are willing to take you as a Government in exile in J City if and when you need it. Special Forces have been put on standby to fly you and your staffs out of the country if you so require it. We will keep you apprised of the situation regarding that but we wish to know if there is any likelihood of you taking up that offer as soon as possible.

IHS Jacob’s Door, Gaul Class Battlecruiser (Flight IIB)
The Eastern Med

The ship and its small group, two cruisers a half dozen destroyers and another half dozen frigates, had gone to increased alert three days earlier with the increased tensions in the region. Orders had come through to make for the Suez to ensure that remained open for Hitmen and other vessels, but these had been promptly countermanded when it was realised the full force of the Questers Navy would be trying to seal it. If the two forces were in close proximity accidents could happen and it was clear who would be victorious if such an accident occurred. So for now they just sailed in circles some sixty miles south of Greece keeping themselves to themselves, advertising their position with all active systems on and operating at max power. Their electronic emissions were quite recognisable so anybody poking around would know who it was and that they posed no threat to anybody at the moment.

In his plush leather chair in the CIC of Jacob’s Door, Rear Admiral Jack Gregan leaned back taking a drag on a freshly lit cigarette. On his ships there was no such thing as a no-smoking rule, especially as it pissed off the tree huggers. Exhaling the smoke he began to speak.

“Officer of the Watch, whats the status of our resupply group?”

“Last reports have them approaching the Dardenelles Sir. We expect our own update from them within the hour.”

“Very well. Inform me as soon as we receive anything, I’ll be on the bridge.”

He didn’t bother picking up the ashtray, just tapping some off the end into it before he stood and walked briskly to the ladder to the bridge, leaving the air conditioned coolness of the CIC for the warmth of a gentle evening in the Eastern Med. He saw the two doors that lead from the bridge out to the bridge wings were wide open and secured to allow the warm breeze to drift through and smiled, this was easily one of the easiest postings at the moment despite the rumblings that now spread through the area due to those Vizionary idiots trying to take on god knows how many enemies. He would be happier still when he had rendezvoused with his supply group, now heading down towards him from its base on the Black Sea in Russian Forces. That would give him a full load of fuel for the conventional escorts that he relied on to provide ASW and AAW support to his little Battlecruiser that carried the majority of the ASuW equipment. Typical of the airheads in command that none of the floating airbases were available at the moment, by the time they got their act together and sent some to him they would find the Suez and Gibraltar entrances blocked. Not that that would matter, it meant he kept his command.

... and anyone now who thinks the Imperial MEA was idle this time is very much uninformed. At the time though, these messages were encrypted, and it is very much doubtful that any regime knew what they said until months after the fact.
The cables sent from the-then Deputy Minister of External Affairs to the Imperial Embassy in ViZion City (each timestamped here relative to the bombings) where short and to the point.

Approximately 26 hours after the bombings in New ViZion City:
LEVARRE; SEND REPEAT PRECIS OF MOST RECENT N10 COMMUNIQUÉS STOP - ALDRESET

Approximately 29 hours after the bombings:
LEVARRE; CC ME THE TWO MOST RECENT N10 COMMUNIQUÉS + RESPONSES STOP - ALDRESET

Approximately 29 hours, 20 minutes after the bombings:
LEVARRE; NEXT TIME REFER FOR INSTRUCTION STOP N10 A SPECIAL CASE STOP - ALDRESET

Approximately 30 hours after the bombings, we see that a decision had been made by the Cabinet:
LEVARRE; CIVIL WAR AN INTERNAL AFFAIR OF VIZION STOP DO NOT ENDORSE EITHER SIDE STOP HSM GOVERNMENT REAFFIRMS NEUTRALITY STOP NO RECOGNITION UNTIL END OF MILITARY CONFLICT STOP RIGHT OF CONQUEST WILL BE USED TO DETERMINE LEGITIMACY STOP ACK - ALDRESET

Of course, the Imperial Embassy in ViZion City didn't issue any statements; with a total travel ban in effect on the nation, there were no Imperial citizens in the country to notify. The consulates had been evacuated years earlier, and the Embassy itself only had a token staff in addition to the guards. There had been no real change in the government's position, only Aldreset informing the Ambassador of the yardstick the Covenant would use to recognise the rightful rulers of ViZion; that wasn't anyone else's business. For the outside observer, nothing changed.

Far more telling is the actions of the Immigration Secretariat, which was quietly blacklisting every single nation that pledged support to an occupying power; years earlier it had decided that all four occupying powers would have been the same species of nation as the Kraven Corporation, given their imperialist attitudes, but, as Aldreset put it "at least Kraven had the guts and decency to be honest about it". In that spirit, the four occupiers had been blacklisted, and then the matter was forgotten.

President Anderson,

While I must thank you for your offer of escorting me safely out of this hell-forbidden country, I graciously decline. I am but a General, and a ViZionarian soldier who has been given this title Acting President, and burdoned with its responsibilities. I am a soldier of ViZion, and as such, I have the responsibility of being here and fighting with my men, leading them into battle.

As for Hiro, we do not know where to find him, as he's moving around day after day, and no one seems to know where he'll be next. If you find him, you may not be able to convince him to go with you. However, if you find him before us, have him brought to us, as we are in need of placing him in control. Also, would it be to much to ask that you send in some of your special forces to work with whoever his guards are to protect him?

While we are disappointed that you cannot enter this war on our behalf, we are glad that you will help evacuate our young citizens to protect their future from the evils of the Doomslandi occupation, or death before they can occupy.

Official Communication to International Community
Attn: Those Against ViZion, Especially Questers

There have been hints that there are numerous plans to attack the Suez Canal. Let it be known that if you, or any of your treacherous allies dare to touch a single speck of air in Jarridian Airspace, or you launch any attack that will put any Jarridian in harms way, your death and destruction will be imminent.

There will be no hesitation on this matter. Jarridia is a free and sovereign nation, and shall move about the world as it pleases. If you blockade Gibraltar, we have no concern for you, and will continue on our path to wherever we choose. If you choose to bombard the Suez, Sinai, or just the vicinity of Port Said, you will pay with the blood of your nation.

Do not test our sincerety on this issue. Jarridian sovereign land is just that, our own sovereign land, and should you breach that simple fact, you will be greeted by the Jarridian sword. Since our last international mission, we have grown in power and strength. The height of the Jarridian Military is now, and it is more than mobilized for battle. The WWA has also been notified and is mobilized should the need occur.

We expect that you will follow your merry way, and will not mess with Jarridia. It is NOT in your best interests. Should you choose to stop our fleets in the straight, or forces our troops to stay locked in the Suez, we will have no choice but to blaze ourselves a path poste haste.

Thank you, and have a delightful evening.

OOC: I appologize for the late responce, as well as the rather low-quality "RP", as I'm trying to rush to get this response up...

"Sir, the Doomingsland forces are retaliating! They were able to fight off most of the attack. Incoming fighters, bombers, missiles! They are headed towards New ViZion!" screamed a RadOff.

"Damnit! Well, get to it!" snapped the General, "Knock them out of the sky, God damnit!" he barked.

"Sir, we are trying, but we're having malfunctions. So far, only about 200 missiles have launched. The naval forces are doing what they can, but that's not nearly enough, not against the attack coming our way!" reported a CommOff.

"What the fuck do you mean a malfunction! Get it working!" ordered the General. "Sir!" announced another CommOff, "The SatNet is under attack!" he reported.

"What the hell do you mean?!" screamed the General, as the scene in one of the many military command centers in New ViZion was becoming chaotic.

"Sir, we're getting reports that three launching stations failed to launch, and the missiles have begun to explode there. We don't have much in the way of surface-to-air defenses." reported a CommOff.

"Well, has the airforce scrambled their aircraft? Has the naval forces scrambled their planes?" the General demanded to know.

"Yes, about 6,000 fighters in all are up in the air at this time, as well as about 500 bombers." reported one of the CommOffs.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Two hours later, the Doomini attack was over. Fourteen of the twenty nuclear missiles made it to New ViZion. Almost all of the supersonic missiles had laid waste to their targets. Over 95% of the city was rubble and fire, nearly 3 million left dead or dying.

As for the airforce, six airforce bases were completely destroyed. While the majority of the airforce managed to get into the air, four hundred aircraft from various airfields were lost, as well as over 5,000 of the 9,000 airborn fighters. Of the roughly 700 bombers, nearly 100 were lost while the others were relocated farther back in the province of Tunisia.

The naval forces took only minor hits, not being of the primary targets. However, they still took hits, with about 400 of the 1,200 various ships around Tunisia heavily damaged or destroyed.

As each launching area expired in weaponary, the men moved quickly, knowing far well that the Doomini forces would be returning heavy fire at the soonest possible time. Some moved into their cave networks, others moved into their underground hidings, while others still moved into areas of the mountains that were not yet fired from or occupied by others.

As such, the majority of these men were able to escape any serious injuries. However, as night set in, and the retaliation had stopped, nearly 5,000 of the roughly 30,000 were dead, and another 2,000 dying.

Given the size of the mountain range, however, they knew, going into this, they would have the immediate advantage until the Doomini forces organized. As such, another wave of attacks were launched.

In this, they moved to their secondary offensive posts, preparing to launch a far more advanced and dangerous strike upon the Doomini military locations.

1,000 subsonic cruise missiles of all sorts were launched from various locations, each location having four missiles. Upon the launch of the four, the people at that location were to promptly move out of the area as soon as possible.

Another 6,000 rockets were also launched, 1,000 of which are biological weapons having a deadly airborne disease - a mix of smallpox and anthrax. Another 500 of them were loaded with 30 gallons of gasoline in hopes of causing larger explosions with deadly fires.

The offensive of 6,000 rockets and 1,000 missiles was to be spread out over a 30-minute time table - the missiles first followed by the rockets - so that it would give the earlier launching crews a better chance of escape. This was to begin at 3:45 AM.

"Hiro... here's the latest report on who's fighting and on which side they're on... and one of the names will shock you..." said Terry, who has become one of Hiro's closest allies and great friends in this time. "Thank you Terry..." he said, taking the paper and scanning over it.

Jarridia

Hiro's expression sunk. "This is it? This is who we have to back us? Out of all of our allies, after all that we have done for so many countless nations, THIS is what we get? And then what's with this list of nations... IH, Xirnium, and so forth that say they will aid us but not militarily? This is what I have been worried about all this time. My father was right... I guess we cannot trust our allies after all, except for a very few select ones. And even many I trusted we COULD definately count on, they either do not answer our calls, or they do but will not aid us militarily. Hiro said, followed by a deep, saddened sigh.

"We've best get moving. I must speak with the international community and our fellow citizens. War has begun now with the offensive strike upon Doomingsland by our military and fellow citizens in Italy brave enough to launch a pre-emptive and suprise strike upon Doomingsland military sites."

Official Private Letter to ViZion
To: Pinkerton, ViZion

Dearest Ally,

We in the WWA are very alarmed by what is happening and are taking every opportunity to prepare ourselves to come to your aid and rid your beautiful nation and the world of these horrid and treacherous fools. Those who have backstabbed you will perish, and those who have insulted you will meet their just reward.

In hopes of giving you the chance to rebuild yourself before we can arrive at your aid, the WWA is authorizing a large lump sum of our Emergency Fund to be donated to you. We will never expect any repayment, as you have done so much for Jarridia and the WWA. You will soon be recieving this package and you may do with it what you wish. If you should require more, our bank is preparing more to be sent in the future.

At this time we have authorized 195 Trillion Dollars to be at your disposal.

We hope that this will comfort your starving government in their time of need. Long live ViZion's loyalty to the WWA and long live the Jaro-ViZo alliance!

Acting President General Kilo was in the middle of gulping down his coffee when one of his officers and cabnet members charged into the room and through a letter down on the desk. Kilo's eyes travelled towards the paper quickly, scanning the title $195 Trillion Donated to ViZionarian Government. Before he could finish the title, he spat out a mouth-full of coffee and began to cough, trying to catch his breath. He quickly began reading the letter from Jarridia.

"Holy fucking shit! Are you fucking KIDDING ME?! Is this a typo, or are they truly giving us $195 trillion dollars?!" he yelled.

"Sir, we're working on finding out the validity of this message. It seems to good to be true." he officer responded.

"You're damn right it does! But what the hell, $195 billion would give us enough to begin building up our military. I am ordering an emergency purchase of any and all weaponary - land, sea, and air - that we can get our fucking hands on. IMMEDIATELY!" he barked his orders in an earth-shaking voice.

For IC Purposes the Transaction has been completed.

Upon arriving in Pinkerton, 20 armed Jarridian Agents ushered their package to where the acting ViZionarian President was located. They were stopped at the entrance, but quickly displayed their Jarridian Military Identification and were allowed in.

"You're Presidency," General Aldous Jamill stated, "We have arrived with an immediate package from Jarridian and the WWA, will you accept it?"

The men watched the President, then pryed the case open displaying the stacks upon stacks of crisp $100 bills. They were piled upon one another and the large case was full to the brim. None of the men had ever seen so much money in one place, and their mouths hung open astonished.

"President Kilo, the Jarridians have arrived with the package. Of money. A very... LARGE package." announced one of the officers. "Very good, let them in." Kilo said. The officer opened the door, and the Jarridians entered.

"You're Presidency," General Aldous Jamill stated, "We have arrived with an immediate package from Jarridian and the WWA, will you accept it?"

"Of course we..." he began, but stopped in his tracks as the case opened to reveal the cash. His facial expression mirrored that of everyone that saw what he say: $195 trillion in $100 bills. Shock, utter shock.

It took him a moment to shake out of that before he spoke again, "My God, they weren't fudging the numbers. It was not a mistake. $195 trillion. My God..." he said, trailing off for a second before coming back strong.

"As Acting President of this great nation, ViZion, I formally accept this offer from our greatest ally of all time, Jarridia, and our great alliance and region, the Westwood Alliance.. he said proudly, then standing up and shaking General Jamill's hand, then proceeding to shake hands with every other member of the Jarridian military in the room. "Thank you, THANK YOU, God Bless! You cannot begin to understand what this will do for us, what this means to us! Send my greatest thanks to ALL of your nation!" he said, "We shall forever be in your debt."

A request for the evacuation of civilians has reached the Republic of Krioval. At this time, our Senate is evaluating the situation; however, our Guild requests the permission of governments involved in the region to allow for our Guild to begin transporting children and their mothers from the disputed territories. The White City is currently equipped to receive twenty million evacuees as guests of the Paladic Guild until such a time as their repatriation would be possible. To facilitate the expedient transport of affected civilians, we ask that any national government or civilian organization capable of assisting in the transport to the Republic communicate this to us at their earliest convenience.

Hiro stood infront of a crowd of over 120,000 people. It was dark, but lights lit up a makeshift stage. Once again, while there were no news crew here, many thousands were videotaping this. It would, indeed, make its way to news companies across the globe by morning.

"Today, I am making two speeches in one. I will firstly be addressing you, my fellow ViZionarians! The second is for the international community at large.

To my fellow ViZionarians! As you are well aware of, the war has begin. Our military made a strike upon the Doomini naval forces, and a lesser-publicized strike was made in ViZionarian Italia against the Doomini occupiers, which was, to a degree, a success, catching the Doomingsland occupying forces completely offguard.

While I know Doomingsland retaliated, I do not know yet of what our brave militia lost. I do know, however, that the strike upon the Doomingsland naval forces was, for the most part, a total failure. It also resulted in the near total destruction of New ViZion, a city I was in just over a week ago going to college at with my friends!

Nearly 3 million are dead or dying it is reported in the retaliation, which included fourteen known nuclear explosions.

Now, the Doomini, Questers, Praetoria, and other aggressors will be marching into our African claims within a day, their naval forces and airforces bombarding our own, making way for their land forces to strike.

They will take Tunisia by force first, then come to Angola, Tanzania, and Zambia. They have already begun to blockade Angola and Tanzania, however they have not had time to fully blockade us, thus allowing nations to continue to evacuate our young generation, our future.

This also is allowing our allied forces - however small they are - to enter and help prepare for their onslaught. Which brings me to a major point of this speech.

Our allies. Or our so-called allies, which I do hope our official government has decided to cancel. So few of our allies have come to our side. Jarridia was expected. As well Xeraph. But some others, such as Yallak,
Finlan, and The Lone Alliance - the last being an ally we have had no contact with since my grandfathers time - have come to our aid, pledging military support of varying degrees. Also, Dismiscus, a young nation in which had have had absolutely no prior contact with, nor have we heard of before, has rallying to our side, bravely standing up with us and a few select allies against some of the top military powers today!

It is with great pride that I know we have some of the greatest allies ever. These few brave nations stand here when no others would, in our darkest days.

The majority of our so-called 'allies' have completely turned their backs on us, ignoring our plees for help. Still others will only aid us in evacuation of our younger generation. And while that is nice, these allies - many of which we have worked with and shed our own tears and blood with in their wars - will not aid us militarily in our greatest hours of need. And yet another - The Silver Sky - has completely turned on us, joining the ranks of Quester, Praetoria, Doomingsland, Jagada, and others in their quest for our blood and our land!

So, while we do have a few allies, it is almost completely on each and every one of our backs to carry this nation with great pride to victory against these oppressors who wish only to have our land, rape our woman, and kill or enslave anyone who stands in their way! They wish to wipe us off the face on the earth forever!

I say WE SHALL NOT HAVE THAT! I say WE SHALL FIGHT BACK! We will win this! But in order for us to be victorious, we MUST stand united!

The crowd went wild, thousands upon thousands cheering, jumping, yelling. Some chanted "Hiro! Hiro! Hiro!", others chanted "ViZion! Unite! ViZion! Unite!" and others just screamed and celebrated and cheered.

After a couple minutes, Hiro calmed the crowd quite rapidly with the lift of his right hand into the air. It took less than a minute for a deep quiet to cover the crowd.

"This, my friends, is for the international community. This is addressing those who are against us, those with us, those who are offering only evacuation aid, and those who have yet to join in at all. This is to the governments, the military's, and the citizens of this world.

First, I wish to address those who wish to harm us, those who wish to fight us, invade our land, kill or enslave our people, and take whatever they can. I ask those more sensible nations with an open mind and open heart to cease your actions and hand over our land to us. Allow us to live our lifes in peace, under our own rule, not under a foreign master - that is, if we still live.

I also demand, for those of you set on taking all that you can from us, including our land, woman, and lives, to cease and decease! You do not know what you will be facing should you step foot on our land again! But should you, you will fully understand. And that, I promise you, is not a good think for you.

I also wish to address those so-called allies who are refusing to aid us in fighting off our enemies. We have fought side-by-side, spilling our own blood and shedding our own tears with your people in fighting your wars, aiding you when you call upon us, when you are in need. But you, you as claimed allies of ours, will not help us in saving our land and people in our darkest hours when we are coming under attack from foreign powers wishing nothing more than the total destruction of ViZion, and killing or enslaving anyone of our people of ANY age should they resist their takeover.

I, for one, pitty you. I also call upon our ViZionarian government to cancel, to void, any standing alliances we have with any nation who refuses to rally to save our nation. While I realize this means we will have few allies, it also means we cut unwanted and unneeded leaches upon our nation, who throw our name around whenever they're in trouble, and should they be attacked, expect us to dig them out of their hole when they wont aid us when we need it most!

Lasrly, I also call upon the international community, to the governments, military's, and citizens of the nations who have yet to become involved in this war. Help us! In our darkest hours, in our worse days, we need help in fighting off the aggressors. We, as citizens of ViZion, appeal to you, citizens and nations of the international community, to aid us. It is not often that ViZion - once the glowing symbol of peace, prosperity, and champions of civil rights and humanitarianism - asks for help.

However, this is a rare thing to see indeed. Our nation - who has fought to save those nations who are oppressed, those nations who come under the threat of invasion and aggressive nations - is now the one who needs the help. We, ViZionarians, of all ages, beliefs, and ideals, call upon you to help us! Help us before it is to late!

We hope our pleas have been heard and will be answered. Thank you."

Within a couple hours, recordings of his two-part speech were being sent off across the globe, both by mail and internet, to all different news networks and internet websites.

The unmanned Transport subs crept closer and after a few more miles deployed their cargo, 80 small objects with the appearence of a large oval with propellers on all sides. With a rapid speed they motored to take up positions on the Alantic side of the strait.

"Yes purchase!" The person said pointing to the docked remains of 2 Nanuchka-III class corvettes, the Kildin class Destroyer Neulovimy, the Krivak class Bezzavetny Frigate and The Sverdlov class Cruiser Mikhail Kutuzov. All were were abandoned and most of them had been considered 'scrapped' of all useful items. But they remained, and more importantly they were inside the blockade, them and a handful of Tarantul-III Missile Boats were all The Lone Alliance Could find. Though they cost way more then they were worth The Lone Alliance had no choice but to purchase then find a way to repair them, crew them, and arm them within a week.

Once they had a verifiable copy, it took the MEA about fifteen minutes to respond to what is now called "Hiro's Doomini Response" with this internal cable:

LEVARRE; DO NOT ISSUE STATEMENT STOP FORWARD ALL RECORDINGS AND DATA RELEVANT TO MOST RECENT 48 HRS IN N10 TO MEA STOP CONSIDER ALL PERSONAL SAFETY PROCEDURES + PROTOCOLS JIC STOP IF ASKED FOR COMMENT STATE: HSM GOV'T CURRENTLY HAS NO OFFICIAL POSITION ON THE MATTER STOP ACK - ALDRESET

At this point Aldreset was still functioning under the SG system; he had been given a policy goal, and then given complete discretion in achieving it.
By this stage the Cabinet had cordoned off the original bombings, deciding that they were a separate matter entirely...

The stage was set. Xeraphian naval units were en route to a two-stage deployment off the coasts of Angola and Tanzania. After ascertainment of enemy fortifications, simultaneous bombardment of coastal installations would commence, followed by air-strikes to the interior. The coastal cities and towns, such as Soyo, Ambriz, Porto Amboin, Lobito/Benguela, and Namibe would take the brunt of the navy's fury. The capitol, Luanda, would undoubtedly be the more heavily defended of the cities, and so a concentrated effort was the order of the day there.

King Cobra fighter-bombers from the Xeraphian carriers in the west would strike the dug-in forces of the enemy in Lubango, Menonque, Huambo, Luena, Malanje, and the Zambian cities of Mongu and Livingstone.

In the east, from the naval task force off the coast of Tanzania and the Xeraphian bases on Madagascar would come the main thrust of the liberation of ViZion/Afrique territories. Shelling of the towns of Tanga, Mtwara, Lindi, Kilwa Masoko, Pangani and Tanga would be followed by air-strikes by Python/Constrictor B-3 bombers and the King Cobras. On the islands of Zanzibar, Pamba and Comoros, strategic bombings would be followed by massive troop-landings via air and sea. These islands were needed as a base for the garnering of further assaults on the continent.

Alaric pored over the maps again and again, hoping against hope that he and the generals hadn't missed anything. He was particularly troubled by Praetonia and Jagada, both long-standing Xeraphian allies. He had ordered the Imperial emissaries to the respective Praetonian and Jagadan embassies in Xeraphia with his message, which was basically, in plain, non-diplomatic language, simple: "We're allies. Don't make me fire on you. Don't give the Empire of Xeraph cause to kill and destroy that which is Praetonian or Jagadan. Let's reason this out."

He had, however, a sinking feeling in the pit of his stomach about Praetonia. Jagada was a 'maybe'...maybe they would listen to reason. He wasn't so sure about Praetonia.

Vlad and Schneider were watching the Emperor. Vlad said, "Alaric, we haven't been embroiled in a biggie like this in a long time. It's been 28 years since the Black & Grey Imperium revolt, which has lingering aspects to this day. We're in much better shape these days. Better technology, greater man-power. It's not going to be pretty, but we'll come out on top."

The Emperor mused for a second. "The difference, my friend, is that the B&G war was against our nations that rebelled against us. There were quite a few elements within those nations who fought an underground war against the rebel leaders. And we were fighting on known terrain. This...this is different. Old allies are involved, on the opposite side. Not only are we going to fight them on foreign colonial soil, but the potential for it over-flowing into all of the individual countries is there."

Schneider stared. "You mean, of course, that this conflict could spill over into the particular nations of Praetonia, Questers, Doomingsland, Silver Sky, and Jagada.....not to mention Xeraph itself. A MAD situation if I've ever seen one." MAD...Mutual Assured Destruction. A lose-lose proposition. "Jesus, Alaric, even Xeraph doesn't have the wherewithal to fight a war like that. Even with GAPTS entering, it'd be a cluster-fuck."

"Good choice of words, Mr. President. A class-A cluster-fuck." He turned to face the two Imperial leaders. "Let's hope and pray that it doesn't come to that, gentlemen." He went back to the maps. "OK, now where were we....?"

The young ensign, of the Dismiscus Navy, rushed onto the bridge, "Sir! The Gibraltar has been blockaded!"
"How many vessels? How strong? What Nation?" the captain responded.
"Sir, I do not have that information at this time, but should we contact naval command?"
"Yes, I will call them."

Official Press Release, Office of Councilor of State - Dismiscus
------------

In accordance with Dismiscus foreign policy, we demand full access through the Strait of Gibraltar. We will be sending more ships through and demand they not be harmed. It is of course, not our policy to attack any adversary prior to their engagement; however, if our forces are attacked while passing through or if they are blocked, we will be forced into action. Thank you for your time.

Gathered in front of the entire Executive Council Emperor Muwatalli stood, walked to the window and gave word to the Dispatch to call a public meeting.

Within minutes, thousands.... then tens of thousands and soon hundreds of thousands and before 1 hour had passed... almost one million Dismiscus Cityt residents had left their jobs, their classrooms and their homes to come to the Palace and listen to their Emperor speak.

It was on the minds of many, what will he say of the situation in the Mediterranean, what of the Dismiscus troops? Emperor Muwatalli's hand rose...

-------------

My fellow Dismiscians. I stand before you today to bring several government decisions to your direct attention. I have chosen not to go through my Public Councilor as I want you to hear my words from my mouth and in my tone.

The time of Dismiscus to rise up amongst the nations of this world and test itself against adversaries much more powerful than us is at hand. We must overcome these foes on the battlefield as well as in our minds. Do not second guess yourselves or your government. Trust your Army and Navy to protect the mighty nation of ViZion and its rightful leader Hiro.

The crowds cheered! Muwatalli, Muwatalli! The Emperor rose his hand again... the chants died down and vanished

My citizens, grave times are ahead. Dismiscus is a small nation, however our power is great! As of today, all wages and supplies are frozen. Rationing will begin immediately and all public offices are now at code level Red.

A Political Convention is being scheduled for next week. Please attend if you can. I want to hear your thoughts. Have a nice day.

As Muwatalli left the balcony, the sound of his name being chanted was moving. Shouting, praying, deafening chants for support of the Emperor! Then it was all quiet, what had happened? What was going on? The Councilor of War took the stage...

I am here today for one reason and one reason alone... Today, as of 1:56PM Dismiscus and the Executive Council officially declare International War, on all fronts in all situations and in regards to any upcoming situations. We declare this war on any and all adversaries of ViZion and the rightful President Hiro and any adversaries of the current stand-in, President Kilo.

This declaration will be presented to and sent to all nations immediately via Code-48 channels reserved for declarations. To WAR!

The sound was too much, people were consumed and overwhelmed at the shouting and chanting of support... Dismiscus was now at WAR!

Imperial Command and Control Center, Sicily

Horatius stared at the massive flat screen monitor mounted to the wall with a raised eyebrow as he puffed on his cigar. There was dead silence amongst his command staff. Never had there been as complete a destruction of an enemy with an army the size of Vizion's in the first hour of war with the Imperium.

"God is truely with us this day..." Tribune Marcus Crescentius with a hint of utter awe in his voice.

Taking another puff of his cigar, Horatius responded with a subtle smirk, speaking with the cigar hanging out of the corner of his mouth

"Damn straight," he said with a grin turned as another Vizionarian cruiser was engulfed in flame and began to roll over to the side from a missile impact.

"Fuckin’ brilliant work by your boys, Amandus," he complemented his air force leazon, Legatus Legionis Amandus Nerva.

"Couldn't have said it better myself," responded Nerva, a man of the same age as Horatius.

He was clearly proud of the performance of the Arma Caelum Imperium Doomanum (ACID, or, Doomingsland Imperial Air Force (DIAF)). They’d done most of the work in demolishing the Vizonarian military in the first hours of the conflict, and so Nerva had a reason for his pride.

Assembled in this command and control center, built into the mountains, were no less than six generals (Legatus Legionis being the Doomani-equivalent rank), and at least two dozen tribunes. This room was absolutely packed with brass, and Horatius was in command of all of them.

”Alright, let’s go ahead and finish the pagan fleet off for good,” Horatius said finally, grabbing the attention of the other commanders from the screen back to him. ”I want an immediate full scale strike on their fleet. Options?”

His commanders went through the procedure, showing him his different strike options. It took only five minutes for him to get his orders out: Sicily’s cruise missile bases went active and heated up. Concealed vertical launch systems throughout the island went online, the armored doors of the cells swinging open, revealing their deadly payload: Quadrereme anti-shipping missiles.

These missiles had been stationed on Sicily precisely for this sort of scenario: A large hostile fleet threatening Imperial holdings in Vizion, one that completely outnumbered the Imperial Navy. They would be absolutely perfect for this situation: the enemy fleet was trapped between the Doomani II Mediterranean Fleet and land. There was nowhere to run or hide for the forces of democracy.

During the previous five years of occupation, the Imperial Army and Air Force had stockpiled an ungodly amount of missiles of various types: nuclear-tipped surface-to-surface missiles, theatre, long, medium and short range surface-to-air missiles, anti-shipping missiles, supersonic surface-to-surface cruise missiles with a variety of payloads. There was nothing short of an arsenal on that relatively small island.

And it was about to be unleashed on the already crippled Vizionarian fleet, and the other fleets off the coast of Tunisia.

Vast clouds of smoke erupted from different portions of the island as the first of over seven-thousand anti-shipping missiles exploded out of their concealed launch boxes. They proceeded to cruise supersonically at low level towards the enemy fleets. Upon coming within seventy-five miles of the enemy fleet (well out of range of enemy CIWS and most likely out of RAM range), the missiles slowed down, dropping into the water. To the enemy, it would seem that they had succeeded in shooting the missiles down, or that they had, perhaps, malfunctioned.

Of course, that was an illusion. From there, the second stage of the weapon would take over: a keel-breaking supercavitating 30” torpedo. Cruising at three hundred knots and guided inertialy, it would be next to impossible for any ship to evade the incoming torpedoes, and just a few of them were enough to totally destroy a battleship; a cruiser, frigate, destroyer, and most likely an aircraft carrier could be destroyed with just one.

With seven-thousand of them heading towards the enemy fleets, their fate was most likely sealed. Unlike cruise missiles, you can’t shoot down a torpedo. Especially one traveling at 300 knots; and you sure as hell aren’t going to dodge one traveling that fast…

Simultaneously to the attack on the fleets, other Sicilian missile bases, equipped with supersonic ATL-75C cruise missiles, targeted the remaining Vizionarian air bases, which were currently in the process of refueling and rearming all of the Vizion Air Force’s remaining Tunisian aircraft. The missiles were armed predominantly with munitions dispensers; they would scatter thousands of baseball-sized bomblets on runways, concentrations of aircraft, fuel depots, and other soft targets. Mines were mixed in, meaning repairing the runways (or using it, for that matter) would be next to suicide. In addition, penetrating warheads targeted hangars, barracks, control towers, ammo dumps, and other hardened targets.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

All major orders went up the chain to the Procurator's command for approval, of course; the nuclear strike had been authorized by Caesar Himself, and this large scale retaliatory operation was approved by the Mediterranean High Command (commanded by Procurator Decius).

Currently the African and Italian operations were under the Mediterranean High Command, with counter-insurgency operations directly under Supreme Command in Rome. African affairs, under African Purification Command, were conducted on Sicily, closer to the action. Procurator Decius was currently in the process of forming an Italian Purification Command (to be headquartered in Capua) as a second command to operate under the Mediterranean High Command, which would be tasked with dealing with the insurgency and finally purging the last of the unclean from Imperial lands.

The man designated for command of the Italian Purification Command was Legatus Legionis Pontius Valerius, another one of Decius’ trusted generals. Once all was in place, Decius would be able to more efficiently control the strategic situation of his province, along with his own little war of conquest.

The ship of 1952m length was one of the four longest ships in the Skyian Republican Navy's register and one of the strongest as it's thirty-two 787mm guns, each at over 81m in length showed.

It was literally a floating fortress bristling with Close-in Weapons Systems, VLS, and dual-purpose weapons, from 140mm to 55mm AA guns. Capable of defending it's self from all types of threats, from submarines to long range bombers. Also, it was surrounded by 1184 combat ships, ranging from Hyperion-Class Trimaran Assualt Dreadnaughts to Dolphin-Class ASW Frigates and anything in between. However, our story is not focused on the destruction this metallic and somewhat phallic beast can cause, but rather the happenings inside.

Armada Admiral Kevin Rogers finished looking over his newest orders, he shook his head, betraying allies for the so-called greater 'good'.

Anyway, this armada's movement of troops was only the latest in strategic moves by The Silver Sky since the war in ViZion, shortly after the first civil war the first move, to move all civilians out of the country, in anticipation of a Doomingslandi invasion of ViZion's South Africa provinces tens of thousands of Skyian Nationals were sent letters by the government and given a large some of money to board government subsidiesed cruise ships to back to The Silver Sky of a country of their choice.

However, now the evacuations were older and it was time to take action. The fleet was headed for ViZionary waters with nearly 500,000 troops carried in hundreds of transports, but this force was not for invasion, it had another purpose, yet to be reveiled.

Armada Admiral Rogers looked at his watch, 1900 Hours, 30 hours before he arrived, he got up from his chair and walked toward the exit onto the observation deck, it was a brief 1 minute ride in an elevator before he arrived in the Observation Deck, he walked out onto the revieled part and looked at his watch. [HEAVILY ENCRYPTED TRANSMISSION]
To: Acting President General Kilo, ViZionary Government in Angola, Zambia and Tanzania
From: President Kara Maddox, The Silver Sky
Subject: Military Aid

I am sending this message to you to show that your great allies have not overlooked you in your time of need, we, and several allies, have gathered at our Rocky Shores Joint Naval Base, about 1500km, or about 30 hours from your territory in Angola, we bring a very massive fleet, totaling over 3000 combat ships, 1184 for us alone, and countless transports. We also would like to electronicly wire, directly to you, 15 trillion USD from budget surpluses to help you buy more military equippment.

We would like you to know that we are dedicated to ViZion and it's great people, we will join any ships you have and sail up the atlantic to break the Questerian block of Gibraltar. However, we would first like to send an airborne detatchment to meet with you and discuss the deployment of more airmobile forces to eliminate the rebels that plague the country side.

We hope you will allow us to do this, please respond in a timely manner as our detachment of airborne troops sent to meet with you is merely hours away. They will land just 10km east of Saurimo in Lunda Sul in one of their stealth transports. They will correspond to you the number of troops we can dedicate to eliminating the rebels.

We hope you respond.

Admiral Rogers was enjoying a hot cup of coffee with the ships captain when an ensign interrrupted them to give him the news that the message had been sent.

"Excellent, keep the fleet on course, I'll send a message to the other fle...".

Admiral Rogers was interrupted by the roar of the engines of a flight of 30 C-7 Venegeance Heavy Stealth Transports, each loaded with 106 men, ten light trucks, and 4 attack helicopters in their massive girths, as they flew low over the flagship on the way to Angola. Their black figures were highlighted by the rapidly setting sun, but it would be no problem by the time they arrived.

"Those damned rebels won't ever see these babies coming." Said Admiral Rogers with a smirk.

He was truly correct, if the rebels even owned any radars they would still not see a thing until it was too late. Except for one, which was modified so it could extend flaps that would show it's presence to the ViZionary forces and had an IFF installed so it could be identified as Skyian.

"Good Good, everything is going as planned, I'll send a message to the other fleets."

'Alright, send it through.' This was Tashimotos second time in action, and the first against a real enemy. Fighting colonial patrol boats wasn't really experience.

The secure line printer hummed and hummed, and whirreda nd whizzed until it printed off its contents, SONAR and RADAR maps and following deployment of sonobuoys, and a request for orders. Tashimoto studied the patterns and remembered his training and analysed the patterns with his Electronics Officer.

F-348

The helicopters blades shuddered and the HELO lifted off from the frigate while various interception preparations were made. The 80 objects that began their lives a moment ago only fifteen miles from the Gibraltar were picked up on RADAR and active SONAR and sonobuoy dips revealed the objects, and they were quickly engaged - SSTDs were launched from the ships, anti torpedo countermeasures were engaged and attacked the incoming objects. Further down, F-383 shot off more anti-torpedo rockets and seamen activated the anti torpedo defensive systems. The fleet, only a day after its deployment, was defending itself.

HMS Invincible Communique to nearby fleet
As a servant of His Majesty, I request and require in the name of His Majesty to inform you that the demand be made, as a representative of the Questarian Admiralty, for you to move your fleet from the area unless it is engaging in hostilities. The Gibraltar is closed and you may not pass through, please back off.

Diplomatic Communique
The United Kingdom hereby places its official closure of the Gibraltar Straits, enforcable from this moment onwards until whenver we see fit to close it, for any vessel not flying under a Questarian, Commonwealth, Sovereign League, or Allied flag. No other nation will be allowed through. Furthermore, we are applying a blockade of the mediterranean - we assure the Jarridian government that we are not making any offensive moves on the Suez, however we have the capability to enforce a blockade from Malta to the coast of Greece and we will enforce this.

The first of the defenses were headed at the targets... However seconds before impact, the sub moved rapidly out of the way, this scene would repeat itself over and over as evasion of the countermeasures began. When an impact on a sub happened it exploded with the force of 2 1000lb bombs. Sending shockwaves throughout the water that would damage the other countermeasures. Still over 80% of the group was destroyed, the remaining 15 began to Rush the enemy ships in a scattered formation.

Atlantic, Travel Towards Gibraltar

The Jarridian fleet continued on its projected path towards the straight of Gibraltar. The mobilized 'First Wave' was massive and had left the Jarridian shoreline many weeks before. A separate force had left the group as they passed north of the Canaries and was going to spearhead the entire fleet into the Straight of Gibraltar. The other, larger fleet fell back on speed only slighly, allowing the smaller fleet to break away and take charge.

It had been confirmed that Questers was intending on blockading the Straight; however, Jarridia was under no concern of this, as President Branam had ordered continued movement into the area.

Estimated arrival time in the Gibraltar region, 1-2 days. A message of preparedness was being written up from the Spearhead Fleet, primarily stating that 'We will not be barred from entering free waters.'

Kiakor, Jarridia

Back in the Jarridian nation, the second wave was well under preparation for its launch towards the Med. At the same time, an even more impressive third wave was beginning to take shape up the coastline in Corvica.

The full brunt of Jarridian might was to be poured into whatever conflict occurred, ViZion would not go down, Jarridia would see to that.

OOC: Sorry for the seemingly bland posts. I have so much work piled on my desk right now. I will continue to post, hopefully adding some dialogue soon. Especially once I breach Gibraltar.

Questarian Venice, Italy

Rear Admiral Franklin Rozelle quietly sipped his tea as he sat in the officers room of the Super Dreadnought WNF-Argyle, party of the advance party of the Willinkian Colonial fleet docked in Venice. As the other officers sat talking quietly, he continued to sit, unperceived, thinking out a battle plan in his head, as he had for a longish amount of time. The coordination of the meeting amused him; in his earlier years official meetings followed strict guidelines and were proper, prearranged, and very platitudinous. Despite that, he managed to get along with most of the ships officers well, and most of all, they listened to what he had to say.

He spoke up suddenly, and the room fell silent. “Men, I believe this meeting should focus on the current hostilities, rather than which one of you will be able to bed more women while in this port.” The officers turned, intimidated by the elderly Admiral, but nevertheless continued to talk in hushed voices among themselves. Rozelle stood up from his chair, and rested his shoulder against the frame of the unlatched door. He had visited Venice the night before, venturing off the ship, and found it delightful. He had dinner at a small cafe adjacent to the campanile on San Pietro di Castello, before heading to view the sights of the main canal.

After watching the Officers silently for several more minutes, he returned to the bridge, his favorite place on the ship. The small force that had arrived with him was sporadically laying throughout the harbor, including several destroyers and a few replenishment ships. Traffic in the harbor, as Rozelle could see, was meager to say the least. Aside from a few private boats, a single cargo vessel ventured out from the cargo terminal, slowly gaining speed as it headed out east into the Gulf of Venice. As the sun began to fall over the horizon, the orange light danced across the bow of the massive ship, and the lights indolently lit in the harbor.

The discommodious forthcoming presence of the Jarridia's naval force was of little worry to the well-versed Admiral; he had utmost confidence in the stalwart Questarian navy to defuse the situation. His mind slowly drifted back to the current confrontation. Willink had many allies in the theater, including Velkya, Space Union, The Silver Sky, and most importantly, Questers.

The prevailing arm of the Willinkian Colonial Fleet, led by the SuperDreadnought WNF-Formidable was approaching from the Atlantic, consisting of nearly 500 ships. They were responsible for defense of the Willinkian landing forces, nearly 980,000 men in total. A long and tedious mission to escort back and forth, yes, but a admirable one at that.

Slowly Rozelle lowered himself into his position at the helm of the ship and sent commands to a bridge crewman. He briskly walked to a small, green panel and pressed a button on the touch screen. Suddenly, the ships exterior was illuminated with bright light.

The Lone Alliance Fleet Retreated with the exception of the transport subs which by now have settled on the ocean floor. All 12 of them, each with a cargo of 20 sucide subs were to wait for an enemy fleet to pass over. The Sucide subs were orginally a Nod invention first used against Parthia and Pudu in Chitzland. With enough explosives to breach a destroyer, and destroy the screws and rudders of a Super Dreadnaugh, and a remarkable ability to evade enemy weapons, they made a potent deathtrap.

"Yes?"
"We are approaching the Gibraltar..."
"Signal any enemy ships that we mean not to stop and will attack if not allowed full passage."
"Yes sir!" The young ensign rushed to the bridge, this would be his first battle, if there was a battle.

Subject: Blockade

Dear Sir or Madam,

We note that you have seen fit to close the straits of Gibraltar to all shipping, and are blockading the western Mediterranean under similar restrictions.

I have the duty to inform you that, should you refuse to permit the departure of any Macisikani vessel from the blockaded area (bearing in mind that they will depart the Mediterranean via the Suez Canal), we will consider you to be holding them illegally and in violation of our recognised neutrality. As a consequence we will be forced to take suitable retaliatory and punitive actions against your nation.

We do hope that you will see fit to allow our merchantmen to depart the area, thus avoiding any unpleasantness.

Count Ethelred Aldreset,
His Most Serene Majesty's Deputy Minister for External Affairs

... Aldreset clearly had no faith in the Questerians. All he was asking was that the Imperial ships be allowed to come home. But ever since they'd invaded ViZion, their reputation in the Daíl had been mud (see chapter 5); no-one had faith in Questerian "honesty". Before the ink had dried on that communiqué, Aldreset was drafting Letters of Marque...

Of course, his ire was solely directed at Questers; as Sir Edmund Foxworth had said about Valdir's MEA; "they like having their ships come home intact. They're funny that way".

I don't want to fire on a long-standing ally, but ViZion is one of our original allies, and I won't allow anyone to screw around with them.""

He leant back in his chair, "We are ensuring the citizens of the Former ViZion in our sector a good standard of living - better than under the previous government - and safety from any state agency.

"You must understand we are not like the Doomani. They have their slave labour and their oppression and their dreadful tyranny, but we cannot prevent that. Our occupation the Former ViZion is protecting those in our Sector from the fate of their former compatriots in zones belonging the states not so," he hesitated, trying to choose the right word, "civilised, as we are, although they of course would not agree.

"The Former ViZion was a mess of a state anyway. They have had a nuclear-armed battleship mutiny, they have had an SLBM-carrying deterrent submarine run away and disappear into the ocean, they have almost released numerous deadly pathogens on several occassions and finally their state collapsed into brutal civil war between a valiant but hopelessly outnumbered democratic resistance and a bloody-thirsty tyrant! There comes a point when enough is quite simply enough.

"We are the... stablising hand, as it were, of the Former ViZion. We are a beneficient force and we have vastly improved the prospects of those living the Former ViZion, from civil war and quite likely wholesale occupation by the Imperium Doomanum to residency and, eventually, citizenship of an enlightened, stable, liberal-democratic state. To you ViZion's sovereignty may be vital but to us it is at best a burden."

He sat in silence for a moment, pondering what he had just said. Then, leaning towards the Xeraphian ambassafor.

"His Majesty's Government understands your dilemma, and it affects us also. We have no desire for conflict with anyone, not least an ally. We will agree not to fire on Xeraphian troops, sink Xeraphian ships or even interdict Xeraphian aid if Xeraph in return agrees not to fight Praetonian troops or render any material assistance to others doing so. In essense we will ignore each other, and cancel each other out. It is a gentlemanly offer. I do so hope you will take it."

Somewhere in the Aegean Sea

Fleet Commander Minaith watched from the bridge of the Soulblighter as the Imperial Fleet re-gathered in the Aegean after finally passing through the Dardanelles. So far everything was running to schedule, well as far as he could tell while still awaiting a communiqué from the Empire. But even as he wondered what was taking them so long, the console before him came to life, beeping its alert at an incoming transmission.

Finally, thought the Commander as he sat down in his chair and pressed a button on the console. A small 3D holographic image, about fifteen centimeters high, of a roughly fifty-year-old man in military uniform appeared before the commander. The mans immaculate outfit was black like most Imperial uniforms but bore a vast array of service ribbons and a unique rank insignia on the shoulders and arms.

‘Air Marshal Cynath,’ acknowledged Minaith, ‘Has there been a problem, Sir?’

’Nothing major, Commander. The bombers were deployed as planned, two full Air Fleets, however we detected a massive missile launch from multiple areas of Sicily against ViZion. You shall need to deal with this threat before moving the fleet further into the Mediterranean. I already had a shipment of ‘special cargo’ dispatched to you. Hopefully it will prove effective enough. Good luck Commander.’

‘Understood, Marshal,’ answered Minaith, a second or two before the transmission cut out and the hologram vanished.

Somewhere over the Baltic Sea

Two entire Air Fleets of HSB-77 Remora’s, totaling several thousand bombers, as well as an armada of escorts were now on the second leg of their journey to join the war in the Mediterranean. They had departed some hour ago were following a round about route to avoid any hostile air defences. The escorts would never make it the whole way but a fleet had also been dispatched from the north of the Empire to pick them up as they returned.

For now, it was merely a time of navigation. With well over two and a half thousand miles to travel to their target it would be some time before the fleet would arrive, but when they did, the enemy would not see them coming.

Admiral Lord Tom Paxton had been ambassador to Praetonia from the start of their relationship, so many years ago. He knew Sir Thomas quite well, having not only attended formal dinners and other gatherings, but knew him as one hell of a poker player. Which was why he was just a tad skeptical of his offer. Sir Thomas had on his "poker face", that non-commital, innocuous facade that usually spelled trouble for the other players.

Paxton eyed the Praetonian ambassador for a few seconds, then said, "So, Sir Thomas, what you are essentially telling me is that you haven't any intention of abandoning your occupation of sovereign ViZionarian territory. The main reason being that you are a more stable influence and that Praetonia's presence does nothing but benefit the citizens of ViZion." He paused for a second, then pressed on. "Sir, I for one agree with you. ViZion leadership in over the past eighty years or so leaves something to be desired, to say the least. As a matter of fact, it was Emperor Alaric Tan'it who made the historic observation about ViZion: 'ViZion didn't screw up much, but when they did it was a cluster-fuck of momentous proportions.' Excusing my language. Their government has been...entertaining...over the years, much like the Clinton administration in the old USA centuries ago." They all laughed at the analogy.

"However......ViZion is still a sovereign nation, with every right to self-determination. Praetonia is usurping an inherent ruler's right to rule his or her nation as they see fit. You know how seriously the Emperor holds this right. If there's one thing that rankles his Imperial Majesty, it's one nation imposing it's will upon another unasked and unwanted." Again he paused.

"But I have a thought. What if you and I could talk to this Hiro and work out some kind of co-governing agreement? I'm sure the Emperor would have no problem with it, and if we could broker a deal with Hiro, then all the better.

But regardless of that particular outcome, the Emperor has instructed me to assure you that neither Xeraph nor any other Imperial nation will contend with Praetonia militarily. We will not invade your portion of ViZion Italia, nor will we enter the coastal waters you now occupy."

"But I wish to make one thing perfectly clear. The Emperor will not tolerate the harboring of Questern, Jagadan, or any other hostile nation's military within the Praetonian Italia borders. If those nations fire on us from within the confines of this nation, we will fire back.....no ifs, ands, or buts."

The Admiral stood up. "With your leave, Sir Thomas, I need to contact the Emperor and advise him of the situation. Please think over my proposal. I'll give you a call within the next 24 hours." He gave the ambassador a short bow, turned on his heel, and left the room. He couldn't help thinking that Sir Thomas, ever the card sharp, had an ace up his sleeve. All good card players did. As did Alaric Tan'it, hustler that he was..............

Emperor Muwatalli sat stone faced in his chair, after more than 22 years on the throne his age was showing. He looked towards the sunrise in the east, over the great blue horizon, how had his reign come to such a point that the nation he led was heading into a huge conflict that Dismiscus had no right or standing to be in. His country could be destroyed if he did not make the correct decisions and he was no general.

As the morning went on he walked in the palace garden and knelt by the pond there. "How are the leaves this fine morning, how are the trees?" He spoke softly as he recited the ancient poem of the gardener. "How is the grass that flows in the breeze?"

He knew the time was near, days maybe weeks but more likely it would be sooner than that, possibly even this very day. He called for his attendant to gather the Council..."Hurry!" he coughed..."Time is short..."

If you know your enemy and yourself, in a thousand battles you shall never be defeated. --Sun Tzu

~ International Waters; Indian Ocean (700 km off African Coast)

Omega 49 Dosun waited.

In total darkness, he waited; as he always had. His fleet had deployed to the co-ordinates and was now sitting comfortably in international waters, supplied from the ports of the Overland; and until some thin-skinned nation took umbrage, it could sit there until Judgment Day. But Aimée's orders were never too long in coming. It may have been days or hours or sunlit months; but he was confident that his orders would come. He lived upon that hope.

And come, as always, they did.

Omega 49 Dosun's eyes snap open once more, the screens around him lighting up again, as the Goddess-Empress's voice speaks through his earpiece, his uplink to the Overland and Underland, to Steelia.

"Omega 49."

"Yes, Lady?" The answer, as always.

"Your new orders run as follows. You are to move to positions at the boundary of international waters near the Maldives, and hold position. If hailed, claim to be an observing fleet."

Dosun hardly has time to think an objection before the haunting voice on the other end says, "Naturally this will be seen as ridiculous, due to the composition of your battlegroup; however, if anyone fires upon you you can use it to your advantage."

Dosun murmurs an assent, flips a link to the rest of his fleet, and reiterates the orders briefly. As he swivels to face the displays lining his circular room, Aimée's voice returns across his link.

"And, if you encounter Praetonian forces in the vicinity, or any allied to them, consider them friends."

"Yes, Lady," Dosun murmurs again, as the link is closed inaudibly. The massive display screens around him are the only light in his room; he watches as the ships of his battlegroup begin to move, westward bound, to bring glory to the Imperium Corporation.

For indeed, in the reaches of history, who is remembered for what they failed to achieve? ~

Malé Naval Base; Admiral James T. Garin's personal office; 0900 hours]

Admiral Garin was sitting at his desk sipping tea and sorting out the days logistical reports when his computer told him he had an urgent message from Regional Admiral Braun. 'Oh boy,' he thought, 'just one more thing to worry about.' The small Akavarian Colony had been buzzing with activity ever since Akavar started building up its forces in the area. So many ships had been brought in or expected to be in from allied nations that is was putting a huge strain on the small nation of atolls. Admiral Garin hadn't even known why he was sent there. He was a combat office, not a pencil pusher. None-the-less Command had ordered him there to oversee the deployment of the fleet in the Maldives.

Subject: Urgent Orders – Priority One

Admiral Garin, I am pleased to see that under your direction the fleet buildup has been going so smoothly. A fleet this size operating from such a small colony is indeed an extraordinary feat in and of itself. You have not just been sent there to oversee the build-up operation however – that would be a waste of your resources. Instead your new standing orders are to form the “Stacked Deck” Battle Group and rendezvous with the Praetorian fleet at the attached coordinates. The composition of your forces are attached to the message. Left behind with be the 5th Fleet Group commanded by Admiral Berg and the 7th by Admiral Muller, and the 11th commanded by Admiral Roth. These will act as standing defense forces for the Maldives and will guard the region. The 11th Fleet Group will also serve as an escort force to keep supply shipments safe from attack.

I know you will do Akavar proud James. I have the utmost confidence in your abilities. Good Luck, and Good Hunting.

Keep the faith.

'Who the fuck is Nexia Prime', he thought. Admiral Modugno had been perusing the messages and came across an urgent message from a Lord Daniels. Then it dawned on him.

"Ensign, get a note to the Emperor. I think we've got a lead as to where our old buddy Alejandro is."

He privately hoped that Nexia Prime was who he thought it was. The long and tangled history of the Taniths and Valtanes was nothing to sneeze at. Perhaps yet another crisis had propelled the once-proud territories of old Eric Valtane into isolation again. Many in the Empire were of the opinion that the Emperor should do something to help ease the re-entry of the various Valtane lands into a more permanent status. Perhaps this time something could be accomplished.

The flashing screen told him that the Emperor was on the line. He picked up the direct line to the palace. "Yes sir. Modugno here. I think we've found VL..."

IC:
President Kilo signed Order 462684R, which warrants and forces the immediate evacuation of all children and young teenagers 15 years of age or younger, along with any civilians not taking up arms into friendly territory. In this event, due to being in such close quarters with the nation of Al Ramir, who has agreed to take in our civilians in emergency evacuation situations, these civilians have begun boarding non-armed ships, along with aircraft, while others still are making the trek via land.

From there, we will begin to send these civilians to allied nations accepting our request for evacuated civilians of ViZion.

It has come to our attention that you wish to find some place of safety for your citizens. We are willing to provide them such a place, however, we require a port of harbor to which we can dispatch our rescue ships. Should you like, we are willing to supply you with weapons and ammunition, and perhaps a limited number of military advisers. We have also hired several groups of mercenaries with limited ties to the government that might have some interest in working in your region.

"An interesting development in the Vizionary civil war today as President Anderson re-affirms his stance on refugees, stating that his earlier pledge stands and that we will offer sanctuary to and and all Vizionary citizens fleeing the devastating war. The President's weekly press conference took a slight swing from the planned agenda of housing reforms after numerous questions revolving around Vizion, including this from IHNN's Steve Thomas."

The screen changed to a picture of the President in the press room of the New White House as he took a sip of water and then pointed to a reporter.

"Mr President, Steve Thomas IHNN. The disturbing events in Vizion continue even as we speak, do you intend to stand by the earlier commitment to help as many Vizionary citizens as we can to escape?"

"Of course I stand by my earlier pledge Steve. The United States of Independent Hitmen will aid our ally in need in this most basic of ways as we would any ally of ours who required our assistance. Granted the scale of the exodus from Vizionary lands is probably going to be huge and more than we alone can handle, but I'm confident that our allies around the world as well as Vizions other friends and concerned third parties will all offer further assistance. I will not speak of the details of the ongoing operation, however I am fairly confident that we will be taking Vizionary citizens out of Vizion itself as well as relieving pressure on the neighbouring Al Ramir who will no doubt have the bulk of the fleeing populace descend upon them."

"Mr President a follow up. What can you say of the rumours that IH Special Forces are preparing for deployment to the region to aid the Vizionary cause and provide close protection to leading Vizionary political and military figures?"

"I've heard no such rumour Steve. If I were you I'd check those sources again."

"Yes Mr President, thank you."

"Next Question Please"

The President flicked off the TV in his office and turned to the assembled Department of Defence officials, including both the Secretary and the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs.

"Ok Gents. Care to explain how a reporter is hearing rumours of something that I only ordered three hours before that press conference?"

A deathly silence fell on the room that lasted for a good five seconds until the Secretary of Defence spoke it.

"Mr President, its just reporters making it up to try and get an answer from you regarding the subject. Merely playing for soundbites that they can then use to show we are going into another world hot spot."

"As if the Golden Throne and that bloody Kanami itch weren't enough you mean."

"Yes Sir. The media are slow to catch on that all is not rosy in either theatre at the moment, either that or they are purposely not saying anything in order to maintain morale. The latter seems unlikely."

"Very much so. But back to the point. When will those Special Ops people be ready to go in?"

"They leave on a pair of aid planes that are carrying supplies to Vizion and evacuating the last of our foreign nationals as they do so. Of course the supplies are surplus weapons and ammunition that cannot be traced back to us as ordered Sir."

"Very well Mr Secretary. But if I find leaks there will be hell to play, this one stays undercover until its over."

"Yes Sir. Thank you Mr President."

The five C-141 Starlifters sat idly on the loading bays as the last of their cargo was forklifted aboard. For three of them that was crates of various weapons, scrubbed of all marks and serial numbers, as well as pallets upon pallets of ammunition.

The other two would hold two Special Forces A-Teams each along with the equipment that each team brought for their various planned duties. The primary mission of two of them was the safeguarding of President Kilo, although locating him would probably prove to be difficult.

OOC:I'll respond to the insurgents later.
The alarms on the ships, airbases, and other military locations blew loud and clear of the impending air strike upon them. Aircrafts - rather filled and loaded completely or not, we being ordered into the air. Multiple tankers were also ordered into the air to help fuel those who needed it. The aircraft had no choice but to launch their own aerial assault upon the hostile naval forces.

In the mean time, anti-missile systems on land and sea began to fire at the nearing ATL-75C cruise missiles. Even so, while many of these missiles were shot down, hundreds more still devistated their intended targets. And while some managed to hit local cities, the cities were mostly vacant from the evacuation.

The remaining ViZionarian naval forces located around Tunisia, in the mean time, began their own offensive against hostile forces. However, while the ViZionarian naval forces began their offensive, they became, once again, the victims of the hostile forces, with the thousands of torpedo's quickly engulfing almost all of the ships in an instant of chaos. It quickly became a realization with the ViZionarian forces in Tunisia that this would be devistatingly hard at best.

OOC: added a little more detail, but I'm at work and don't have the time/feel like reworking the entire post. My better posts will come tonight...

Just as the C-13 was nearing the limit of its reserve fuel, the pilot quickly switched off the afterburners. "We're here boys, 5 minutes to ramp-down"
The divers double and triple checked their gear and prepared to make their HALO jump. The aircraft decelerated to commercial airline speeds and dropped to about 40,000 feet. A yellow light flicked on and the ramp door slowly opened. As the air rushed out of the back the divers gripped the handles on their troop seat and listened carefully to their commander as he counted down out loud.

"30 seconds!

25!

20!

15!

10!
5

JUMP JUMP JUMP!!!"

One by one the divers leaped off the rear ramp and into the abyss.
In a few minutes time they will fall from over 40,000 feet in the air, to over 1,000 feet below sea level.

The loadmaster checked to confirm all jumpers were away, and then pulled violently on a lever which closed the rear door. He gave a thumbs up to the pilot behind him, who rapidly accelerated the Jack Rabbit to maximum super cruise and climbed to over 50,000 feet. It would have to rendezvous with a tanker over the Atlantic since there was excessive use of afterburners, but then it would a quick flight home, and a smooth landing, if a suitable runway could be found in the ruined city.

"... and therefore the Committee recommends to the Parliament that we recognise in law what has been long established in fact; ViZion is no longer a viable nation-state," the speaker was the head of one of the numerous parliamentary committees; Foreign Relations (House of Representatives).
"In any case, the Committee has presented its findings to the Minister of External Affairs, who has informed us that she endorses the recommendations of the Committee as outlined in page eight of your summary notes.
"For the purposes of the record, the provisions on page eight stipulate the following: that our diplomatic missions in ViZion be dissolved, and the assets thereof be disposed of in accordance with the policy of the Department of Ambassador-General; that ViZionarian diplomatic missions in the Covenant be immediately expired; that all ViZionarian refugees be offered the options of naturalisation, or expulsion as an illegal immigrant; that His Serene Majesty's Government declare ViZion a Deceased Nation, with all the properties inherent thereof. This committee does not consider recognition of the claims of the occupying powers, as they are under examination by a committee of Lords Spiritual and Temporal."

The Committee chair sat, even as one of the Tribunes below rose to her feet.
"Honoured Representatives," her clear voice rang out. "I move that this House adopts the recommendations of the Foreign Relations Committee, in their report on the matter of ViZion, in full, without exception," she sat. There was some desultory applause from the back benches.

Up on his dais, the wizened form of the Speaker stirred.

"Does anyone wish to speak against the motion?" he asked in his cracked voice. Silence was his only answer. "No opposition voiced, no division required," he declared.

He raised his staff and brought it down, the metal sounding hard against the marble at the base of his chair.

"Motion carries."

He beckoned to a courier, and handed the youth a red token. The courier bowed, and departed the chamber, to inform the Archnoble that a motion was being sent to the House of Lords.

RIS Scorpion
Flagship of the Risban Imperial Fleet
Home to the Imperial Government-in-Exile

"This is not good news, to say the least," remarked an gentleman sitting behind a large desk aboard the superdreadnought that served as the flagship if the Risbanian fleet. The man looked worn out and tired, lines under his eyes. He had every reason to be tired. He was Grand Admiral Eric Tarda, current leader of the Imperial Government-in-Exile of Risban.

The Grand Imperium of Risban had been rocked by civil war, when the Grand General orchestrated a series of terrorist attacks throughout the Imperium to force the Emperor and the Imperial Parliament to build up the military further and crack down on civil liberties. The Grand General then seized the moment and launched a coup d'etat against Emperor Robinson Antares Scorpius, resulting in a civil war that plagued all of Risban. The General's forces eventually were victorious, conquering Risban City and capturing the Emperor as the Imperial Family and loyalists members of parliament fled with the Imperial Navy away from Risban. Locking the Emperor away, the Grand General proceeded to fight the Loyalist Insurgency. It was at that point in time, after the War of Golden Succession that had rocked Greater Dienstad, that neighboring Jagada invaded and occupied the fragile Imperium, its legitimate government far off in exile as a military dictator fought for control.

Thus Grand Admiral Eric Tarda was never having a good day, and a message from Imported ViZion seeking aid in their war made things all-the-more difficult for the de facto leader of the Risbanian Imperial Remnant.

"We cannot assist ViZion militarily," concluded Alexander Perkins, former Imperial High Minister for Foreign Affairs. "Nations that we have had amicable relations with in the past are against ViZion, such as Praetonia. Furthermore, Jagada is in the alliance against ViZion."

The Grand Admiral's eyes widened slightly, as did those of others sitting at the table. The Risbanian Imperial Remnant was presently trying to coordinate with the Loyalist Insurgency in Risban and the Jagadan occupiers to free the Emperor from the Grand General and to restore the legitimate government to power in Risban. Aligning with an enemy of Jagada would destroy any hopes of a peaceful exchange.

"Then perhaps we should align ourselves against ViZion," suggested Lord Kenneth Fowl, the Imperial Ambassador to the United Nations and a former advisor to the Emperor.

"No. We cannot as a matter of honor," said Perkins. "Our relations with ViZion have been friendly in the past, and they came to us seeking assistance. Furthermore, the nation of Xeraph is one of their allies, and Xeraph has aided the Grand Imperium in the past. We cannot turn on them now."

"So we are left with playing the middle-man... Oh, how I wish the Emperor were here to figure out what to do," sighed Tarda, rubbing his temple as he contemplated the situation. Nearly all of the massive Risbanian Imperial Navy was still under his control-- a force powerful enough to prove to be of great military assistance. If he assisted one side, however, he would jeopardize the chances of a restored Risban and anger formerly friendly nations. If he assisted the other side, he would alienate a formerly close ally and dishonor another friend. But he could not just do nothing. Sighing, the Grand Admiral looked up. "We shall offer humanitarian aid to Imported ViZion. Refugees can go to Retributed Island."

Retributed Island was one of the few Risbanian territories still under Imperial control. After the rogue nation of Muru had launched a terrorist attack on Risban, the Imperium and a coalition of allies invaded and destroyed the nation, splitting its territories between themselves. With the Macabees reclaiming Retreat Island after the Risbanian Emperor was overthrown, Retributed Island was the largest island under loyalist control.

"Dispatch letters to Doomingsland, Questers, Praetonia, Jagada, and company that we will be sending strictly humanitarian missions to the region and that they are free to check these missions to verify our claims. Ask that our neutrality be respected," said the Grand Admiral. "Then send a letter to Imported ViZion apologizing that we cannot assist them militarily but we will help their citizens out humanitarianly."

"Maybe we could offer an ambassador to seek a diplomatic solution of some kind to this whole mess," suggested Lord William Plutus, the former finance minister. "It would be a lot cheaper than humanitarian aid."

"This mess will not be resolved until blood has soaked the sea and the mountains," said Myles Abrahms, minister of intelligence, with a fierce tone. "The greed and unbridled passions of men will see to that, I assure you."

"In any means, let us hope for the best," said Admiral Tarda, standing. "Imperium et libertas... May God be with us."

~Imperial Statement of Neutrality~
The Grand Imperium of Risban, known to some as the Risbanian Imperial Remnant, hereby declares full neutrality in this sad conflict. We ask that our ships be allowed to continue to travel without harassment and that our people not be targeted by any militaries. Imperial humanitarian aid workers will be assisting the citizens of ViZion, and we ask that they not be harmed.

The Imperium opens its doors to any refugees from ViZion and is sitting up shelters and camps on Retributed Island for the refugees.

We hope that a diplomatic solution is found for this problem. War is a terrible thing, as you all know. We ask that you all remember that while you great leaders may be making these decisions of great impact and your nations be waging these wars, it is the ordinary people who are paying the price.

Signed,
Grand Admiral Eric Tarda, Supreme Commander of the Grand Imperium
Duke Sargas Caecus Lesath, High Chancellor of the Imperial Parliament
Alexander Perkins, Minister for Foreign Affairs
