Raider Island, a tiny barren waste of good earth, formed by Mount Raider which is active to this day, spewing out immense amounts of lava, making the island larger and larger. It has an unusual side effect of evaporating extremely large amounts of water and creating a near permanent fog around the southern tip of the island.

Survey teams declared it worthless, strategically and mineral wise, it lacked Iron Ore, Copper Ore, Uranium, Gold, Oil and even good beaches to make it worthwhile to mine silcon.

But a recent independent geological expedition has discovered a truly monolithic reserve of Ferrocolumbite and Tantalite. All the ingredients to make extremely strong steel, and powerful microchips, a military's wet dream. Powerful electronics and armour.

Both Icovir and Leafanistan have set their sights on the island and are mobilizing major task forces to secure that reserve.

I wouldn't worry too much about the ships, most of them are to support the landing and then they will sail off.

The Emperor saw how this island was open for colonization. He also heard, recently, of Leafanistan's attempts at it.

"Sir, we have found an island named Raider Island. It is filled with natives and open for colonization." stated the Emperor's adviser, Bill Roshtock.

"So I see" replied the Emperor. "I say send some troops there, but not too many. We're fixing for a war with another nation, and we'll have to colonize this island and fight that country. Send 2,001,000 ground troops of our 31,000,000 troops. If Leafanistan reached the island first, we'll have spare troops.".

"Sir.".

These ships were sent off immediatly. The Emperor planned to conquer this island quickly without any deaths of his troops.

OOC: I question your ability to deploy a staggering 1 million 'gunships', there is no need to fill 1 million ships with guns, along wtih the equally massive number of repair ships, and capital ships. Though Capital Ships mean anything above the size of a cruiser today. You'll require 54 million men to operate this fleet.

And you'll arrive first, I move slowly but surely.

Lu-25 Black Mariahs were in the air soon enough, the fleet moved slowly and the Imperial forces would arrive ahead of time, but if anything, they could devastate the fleet before they arrived. The first flight was loaded with Macabee-made capital ship killers. They targetted the 5 battleships and let loose their arsenal outside of gun range. The missiles would cruise the way there.

The fleet moved on to get within cruise missile range of the enemy fleet.

The fleet's dreadnaughts turned their massive guns 25", 21", 18" toward the enemy fleet, and loaded a series of experimental rocket assisted shells.

These were called 'charges' and were the most complex naval weapons Leafanistan fielded. They were a ferrous shell, with a rocket motor in the back, and an ultracapacitor to power a magnetic field that held an internal shell of plasma, instead of explosives. Plasma expansion creates far more damage then a conventional explosive (OOC: Lets say 5 times as much?) and these shells were lobbed at the enemy.

Out of the 52 fired, 7 burst somewhere en route due to capacitor failure.
