Dear Imperial subjects and compatriots of the Empire of Pure Japan.
As Prime Minister of the Imperial Government of the Empire of Pure Japan and First Lord of the Privy Council of the Empire of Pure Japan, I announace the dissolution of the Imperial Diet and the calling of a General Parliamentary Election on this day, November 1st, 2006.
This announcement has been made after it was presented to and given it's blessing by the Divine Emperor Showa.

Political Parties:
Civil Association for the Unity of the State (CAUS):
Party History: The ruling party in the Imperial Diet (parliament). It currently holds 305 seats out of the Imperial Diet's total of 500 seats. The CAUS was formed five months before this election out of a number of smaller right-wing and conservative parties, as well as numerous non-party/independent Dietmen/MPs, of which Prince Fumimaro Konoe was one.
Party Orientation: Right-wing, patriotic with strong ties to the military (especially the Imperial Pure Japanese Navy) and the Emperor and the Imperial Court.
Party Policies:
On economic issues, the CAUS aims to intergrate the many large companies and corporations in Pure Japan and to merge them into mega-coporations and holdings intitutions, known in Pure Japanese as Ziabatsu. The CAUS also aim to provide state subsidies to Pure Japanese corporations and to protect internal markets from outside competition via import embargos and very high import tarrifs. With all of these policies, the CAUS claim that a export based economy will flourish that will enable the Pure Japanese economy to grow even more and to rival the many other powerful economies of the world.
In foreign affairs, the CAUS are generally hostile to nations that are socialist, communist, sponsor terrorism and rebel movements and engage in narco-trafficking. The CAUS aim to promote stronger relations with the nations of SouthEast Asia (SEA) and the Shahdom of the Parthian Empire. The CAUS is hostile to the Kraven Corporation and will aim to build an alliance with those nations which are currently fighting the Kraven Corporation.
Imperial Way Faction (IWF):
Party History: The IWF started out as secret society made up of extreme right-wing and Fascist military officers. The IWF was responsible for a military coup nine years ago back in May 1997 which established a four year dictatorship until November 2001. The IWF has since become a public organisation but still has very strong ties to the Imperial Armed Forces and most of the Imperial Armed Force's members vote for the IWF, espcially the Imperial Pure Japanese Army, where the IWF has it's strongest support. The IWF is led by General Sanjii Kito-Akiki.
Party Orientation: Extreme right-wing and Fascist. Aims to abolish the multi-party system and to establish a system by which all members of the Imperial Diet become members of a Imperial Rule Assistance Association-IRAA. Has some support from the eldest son of Emperor Showa, Crown Prince Akihito and some members of the CAUS have also expressed their desire for the CAUS and the IWF to merge into a single party.
Party Policies:
The economic ideology of the IWF is corporatist. Like the CAUS, it supports the mergers of corporations into larger entities and the monopolisation of the economy and the market by Pure Japanese businesses, at the expense of foriegn businesses and corporations. It supports limited trade with close allies of the Empire of Pure Japan and embargos on all other economies and markets, which the IWF believe will corrupt the nation and weaken the Empire.
On the issue of political reform, the IWF aim to merge all political parties in the Imperial Diet into a new organisation, the Imperial Rule Assistance Association (IRAA). The IRAA would be composed of all political groups and parties, including the IWF and the CAUS, as well as all civil servants, members of the Imperial Court and the Imperial Household Agency (IHA) and all members of the Imperial Armed Forces and leading figures in Pure Japanese industry and commerce, thus reaching the main objective of the IWF, a corporatist, single party, Fascist state in the Empire of Pure Japan.
On the issue of foreign affairs, the IWF, like the CAUS is anti-Kraven Corporation and the IWF leader in the Imperial Diet, General Sanjii Kito-Akiki, has made many speeches about how Pure Japan can expand by annexing Kraven land and solving the problem of Pure Japan's high labour costs by using former Kraven citizens as slaves in the new Pure Japanese colonies that would result from such a war against the Kraven Corporation.
League for National Purity and Divine Grace (LNPDG):
Party History: The LNPDG started off, like the IWF, as a secret society inside the Imperial Armed Forces. Like the IWF, the LNPDG took part in the military coup of May 1997 but fell out with the IWF and the IWF backed military regime of 1997-2001 as the LNPDG considered the IWF too moderate and lacking in a proper patriotic spirit. It is the smallest of the three parties running in this election, but also the most militant and right-wing/Fascistic. Although made up mainly of junior officers from the Imperial Pure Japanese Army and sections of the paramilitary Home Guard, it is led by a civilian, the ultra-nationalist and Fascist philosopher, Kita Ikki.
Party Orientation: The LNPDG is a fusion of ideologies. It's statist and corporatist and thus has a strong Fascist element in it's ideology. Even more so than the IWF, the LNPDG is strongly racist, believing the Pure Japanese to be the 'master race', granted divine grace by the Sun God, Amaterasu. The LNPDG consider the Emperor Showa to be a direct descendent of Amaterasu and so the LNPDG call for the Imperial Diet to be abolished, to be replaced by the direct authority of the Emperor Showa, who would rule the nation in alliance with the LNPDG. All in all, the LNPDG is a fusion of ideologies, peasant socialism, fuedalism, anti-free market capitalism, extreme militarism, extreme imperialism and Emperor worship, Buddhist-Shinto fundamentalism, Fascism and extreme racism and hatred towards whites, blacks and Jews.

On economic issues, the LNPDG is opposed to rapid industrialisation and supports the concept of peasant socialism, whereby the workers in the cities would leave the factories and go back to the land and farm, as care free and traditional farmers who oppose social change and live a simple live of hard work, prayer, Emperor worship, martial arts training and meditation. The LNPDG views capitalism in it's modern form to be a Western plot, hatched by the white race, to undermine Pure Japanese society and values, a source of moral decay and spiritual corruption. The LNPDG has vowed to wipe out the corrupt corporate elite of Pure Japan, the Ziabatsu.
On political reform, the LNPDG aims to wholly abolish the Imperial Diet and do away with party politics. The LNPDG aim for an absolutist monarchy, whereby the Emperor would rule directly in league with his advisors and members of the aristocracy and the clerical establishment of the Shinto temples of Pure Japan. The LNPDG wants to do away with the more recent changes that have occured in the Shinto faith and restore Shintoism to it's ancient Buddhist roots. The LNPDG aims to expel or execute all individuals residing in Pure Japan who are not of Pure Japanese racial stock.

No trade, no diplomacy, no treaties with the outside world is what is needed to preserve Pure Japan's purity and strength, in the eyes of the LNPDG. The LNPDG also is expansionist, in that it believes that the Sun God, Amaterasu, has granted the entire world to Pure Japan and thus other nations are not worthy of their existence. The LNPDG, seeing the Pure Japanese as the master race, urges imperialism to create more living space for the people to move into, in an effort at global colonialism. The LNPDG is opposed to any friendship with SouthEast Asia (SEA), seeing SEA as a nation that has failed Asia and that the SEA should be colonised by Pure Japan under a new Imperial Pan-Asian Oder.
