The Fumetsu Na Heishi is Pale Rider Arms' latest battle armor design for the Otagian Regular Army (ORA). Replacing the aging NWS, the Fumetsu Na Heishi is lighter and more agile than the previous design, while sacrificing a minimal amount of protection.

The battlesuit offers level IV+ protection to all vital areas of the body, as well as portions of the arms and legs. Protection is provided by ceramic/tungsten disulfide plates backed by Dyneema weave. Areas that cannot be protected by plates (such as the groin, armpits, and the back of the knees) feature simple Dyneema protection. A simple plated kusazuri provides additional protection for the vulnerable groin and legs. A light weight puncture-resistant NBC suit is worn under the armor, which locks with the helmet. A two-part gorget is fastened about the neck after the helmet is in place, providing level IV+ protection to that area.

The helmet of the Fumetsu Na Heishi features a built-in SmartGun receiver, and will automatically display the targetting information of any SmartGun equipped weapon in range (this includes weapons used by squad mates). In addition, the helmet features thermographic and light amplification optics, along with broadband radio comms. NBC protection is provided by a gas mask built into the helmet. The mask features a toggle that seals the suit entirely from the outside world, forcing it to rely on the suit's attached 5 pound air tank.

The suit weighs in at 18 kilograms, and is entirely unpowered. A powered version is reputedly in the works, and, if released, would be Pale Rider Arm's lightest powered battle armor to date. The Fumetsu Na Heishi battlesuit is expected to retail at 14,000 USD.

OOC: Actually, on current market values, gold is worth about half as much as platinum. Still, feel free to pay in precious metals, royal regalias, livestock, etc.

IC: All above orders have been confirmed, and will be shipped upon receipt of payment. Please note that unlawful duplication of PRA products will be met with force. Thank you, and have a nice day.

Hello, let me introduce myself. My name is Hiro Ando V. I am leading our Loyalists into battle against the nations that occupy some of our land, the nations that wish to take complete control of ViZion, and the rebels that have disrupted our African claims.

While at this time we are unable to make much in the way of payments until victory is official, and our nation is rebuilt, we are much in need of improving our forces so we can will this war.

Are you willing to provide any to our troops, while payments are held off until our nation is stablized? We also will not be able to pick these up ourselves, so we will need them shipped by you to our African claims.

I do hope we can make some sort of arrangement.

Thank you,

Hiro Ando V

Mr. Ando,

We would happily supply you with equipment as needed. Merely specify an amount and we will ship them to you as soon as possible. Your current inability to pay is not an issue, although we will be required to add on a 20% fee due to the inherent risk of this venture. Pale Rider Arms will deliver your order at no charge. If this is acceptable, please respond at your earliest convenience with specifics (amount to be ordered, delivery location, etc).

Yours,

IC:

Her Excellency the Regent has seen this new development, and recognizes it as little more than one more sign the PRA is a cruel and unfeeling organization in every sense, and must be stopped.

~ Diplomatic Representative of the Military Regency of Romandeos.

OOC: Now that's some fine equipment there. *Contemplates sending spies into Otagia to steal it*

How do you come up with these things, Otagia?

P.S. By 'development', I don't just mean the armor, but the fact that it is being sold to the world at large so loosely.

OOC: Having no life helps. ;) On a more serious note, it's mostly boredom. There's absolutely nothing to do in this town, and I lack a car, so I stay on campus and fiddle around with stuff like this in my free time. As for they spying bit, feel free if you want. It's doubtful you'll get away with it, but it'd certainly throw fuel on the fire if and when you get caught.

OOC: I beg your pardon, sir! My failure is by no means assured! My soldiers, particularly, by special operations troops, are all well trained and also well led and equipped. They might fail to get out, but even then, they may well accomplish something worth the risks.

Do you want to actually RP that? If you do, some detailed information about Otagian society, etc.., would be welcome.

How much can you send out? We're in need of as much as possible.

The extra fee was expected, and is acceptable. Please send it to Port Tyria, ViZion (located in southern Zambia)

We thank you very much for your help on this! It shall not be forgotten!

Mr. Ando,

We have several hundred C-130 transports recently made available to ship as many Fumetsu Na Heishi suits as possible. Each aircraft can carry approximately 1000 of the suits, and we can deliver the suits as quickly as these aircraft can clear your runway. We will be sending a group of PRA Samurai in order to safeguard your order and assist your personnel in learning how to use these systems. The first C-130s should be leaving as I write this. I pray that they find you and your men in good health.

Hurtful Thoughts
21-02-2007, 02:27
Just OOCl checking if I can produce a similar armor (domestic use only).

I already had the IC reasoning figured out, and had been meaning to get around to it since 2005/6, but then on a completely unrelated note I found out a number of nations made un-powered armors of similar capabilities to my proposed design.

(Used to contain the following image, which was edited out (http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/7/7a/LastbattE.png)*)
*Image used because I was considering the use of the CM-26 in .30 caliber and had similar armor developed during the 'old republic'. (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=9928200&postcount=9) [Last surviving example of this original armor is to be used in the Kumite thread]
[Post 11 got a bit godmoddy, things started improving again by post 16]

Rebreather/oxygen supply
Type III-IV body armor, that could be upgraded to STANAG grade I.
Optional Optical sensors and HUD
A faceplate that protected the optional gas mask and most of the lower head*
Use of STF to improve ballistic protection and concussive dispersion

*Helmet protects upper part of head

Just wondering if you are okay with it.

Oddly, I didn't have the armor mass figured out and the only one to actually bother listing a mass for their unpowered armor was you.

So, using your mass as baseline, I'd estimate mine would weigh between 15 and 25 Kg. Something around 20 Kg would be average.

Other differances in my proposed design were in intended use.
