*Transcript of Speech Delivered to the Auferstehn Parliament, 28th October 2006 by President Matthew Ryan*
Good Afternoon,
It is with great pomp and rejoicing that I, President Ryan, am able to deliver this message....
Auferstehn has regained it's independence. After a long and protracted invasion, and ejection from the great Smithillian region Auferstehn has fought against it's occupancies and now holds its own again. Many will rememeber the skill and prudence used by the then PM, of the Monarchy of Auferstehn, in the great Oil Crisis of fall 2004, some going further back may remember the fledging Auferstehn departing the East Pacific and taking it's first steps into international waters.
Well, into 2006 the new Auferstehn Republic would wish to announce its' independence and tie into it a pledge to develop and further the peace and prosperity its 596 million inhabitants now enjoy. I myself would like to pledge a desire to re-invigorate and pick up the region of The Imperial States of Genovia. Clearly, until such day as this region prospers and Auferstehn, herself is a nation of power once more, may the world live in peace and harmony. However, we do realise that the world we inhabit is an ever more dangerous one and we would like to swear a pledge of allegence to any nation the falls foul of another wrongfully. We urge the international community to assign it's name to the cause.
Auferstehn will, in complete harmony with the literal meaning of the german derivation of her name, rise again. And will defend liberty all over this vast global network.
