Even with the Purifiers so far having showed no problems in battle, the construction of a new Supersoldier was well under way. Unlike the current Purifiers, there would be three classes of this new Supersoldier. The field soldier, or Crusader, the special forces, or Purifier, and the newest idea, the Jotun (plural being Jötnar).

The Crusader model was designed to bear the brunt of modern warfare. Mainly, they were designed to function as the spearhead of assaults, which would be backed up by unenhanced troops.
To this end, the Crusaders needed to be tough, deadly, mobile, and well armored. And so they are. Crusader armor consists of three layers of liquid armor, capable of stopping most standard caliber weaponry, while still allowing Crusaders to move and run as if they weren’t wearing armor.
Underneath these layers is a detailed, if rugged for still having to deal with the impact from the rounds that the liquid armor is designed to stop, diagnostic system, designed to let the Crusader (and their commander) know if the Crusader has been injured or let the commander know if they have been killed. This interfaces with the HUD in the helmet, to keep track of the Crusader’s location, nearby allies and enemies, mission objectives, and other pertinent tactical data. The commanding officer, or Squad Leader, of each squad of Crusaders (there being ten to a squad, and ten squads to a unit) has a far more detailed HUD, as he keeps continuous track not only of himself, but of the location and situation of all of the Crusaders under his command.
The Crusaders themselves have been genetically and technologically modified. On average, they stand eight feet high, and are exceedingly fit. They also have slightly increased brain capacity, the better to deal with unexpected situations. The Squad Leaders have more extensively increased brain capacity than the others.
The main technological enhancement, apart from a small firearm, capable of firing five times without being reloaded, located in each Crusader’s right forearm, is the Sensory Input Exchange Chip or SIEC. This lets them literally see through the eyes of their brethren, and experience exactly what they are experiencing. Nobody is quite sure why Keene ordered this enhancement, but everyone is sure it has some purpose or other.

The Purifier model, loosely based on that of the same name used by Keene during the Cleansing, was designed as a covert operator. They rely on stealth and skill more than brute force, and usually operate only in small groups, or individually.
The Purifier armor is more concerned with stealth and camouflage than pure protection. Utilizing electrical impulses to change the color is it’s primary function. It contains similar diagnostic and HUD systems to the Crusader armor. Finally, it insulates the Purifier to some degree, dramatically reducing IR profiles.
The Purifiers are generally smaller in build than the Crusaders, standing at an average of five feet three inches. They also are fitted with SIEC technology.

The final model is the Jotun. The Jotun was designed for one simple purpose. Brute power. The most heavily armed and armored of the new Supersoldier program’s products, they are also the slowest.
In addition to five layers of liquid armor, underneath they wear a titanium suit similar to those worn by knights of old. Needless to say, they are more like lumbering behemoths than quick footed warriors. In keeping with this design theory, they are heavily armed. In addition to the fact that each carries a rifle, they have two shoulder mounted weapons. A heavy machine gun on the right shoulder, and a rocket launcher on the left.
Apart from this, their armor is similar in design to the Crusaders. In order to offset their weaknesses, a squad of Jötnar usually consists of five Jötnar and ten Crusaders.
The average Jotun stands at a full ten feet high, and almost as broad through the shoulders. Despite what one may expect, their brains are also enhanced, and are on a par with the Crusaders and Purifiers.
