A nation of 7 billion people, one would imagine that Questarian culture would be diverse and its ethnicities the same. However, it could not be closer to the opposite. Historically, Questers was split into two lands, the north with Japanese colonists who later split from Japan, and the southern natives who are long distant relatives of the Anglo Saxons. Bitter wars raged between the two races at the beginning of Questers history, until the Questarian Anglo Saxons - Questaxons - finally won the war and conquered the Japanese colonists, who for some three hundred years lived under the United Kingdom. However, in recognition of the contributions that the Japanese Questarians made during the Great Patriotic War, the Government granted these people independence under the Union, given their proportional size to the population - 38%. The North is traditionally made up of the Japanese-Questarians, although there is much integration between the South and the North internally.
The two cultures have learned to integrate to form the Questarian Culture - to be Questarian Japanese, Questaxon, or Eurasian is to be Questarian. The two races and cultures have learned to liv etogether in harmony from 400 years of practice, and both have their fair share of admirals, politicians, and factory workers.
Religiously, a recent survey showed that 89% of Questarians go to Church - with a 19% figure Catholic or other denominations and the rest Church of Questers / Protestant. Religion is a part of everyday Questarian life and most Questarians believe that the freedom they enjoy go hand in hand with Christianity.
Free Speech is something Questarians hold dear - the right to say whatever you like, however offensive it may be, under the protection of law. However it has come under attackby the Government recently and the 'Incitement' legal clauses have been extended enough that some groups like Liberty UK and Freedom 4 All have protested heavily against the Governmetns actions in supressing Communism, which is hated enough by Society as a whole anyway.
