"Well, he certainly is a strapping young lad if I saw so myself..." said Jack Harring, the recruiter for the Anolog City Police Department, "We could use someone like him. You know, a figure head. Good looks, charming attitude, and a heart of gold. I could care less if he can ACTUALLY fight good, but as long as people think he can, he's perfect for us!"

Jack, of course, was talking to Phil, the father of 22 year old Michael Johnson, a young man who had applied for a job at the ACPD. Michael was a German-Italian whose golden blonde hair and dark tan skin mixed perfectly with his solid, athleting muscle tone - something that Ashley, his wife-to-be, certainly loved. The ACPD has long been known for corruption and uneffectiveness in this large, crime-flooded city in the south of ViZion's Angolia claim.

After seeing this young man, Jack, who had recently been instructed to begin keeping an eye out for someone who could become the figurehead of their department. Someone who's name and picture could become a sort of recognizing factor of their department, as they tried to work on their public relations nightmare.

Phil was very excited to hear that his own some, Michael, would actually be considered a candidate for this new PR stunt by the department. "And what would my son get out of this? Huh?" he asked Jack.

"Oh, come now! You don't seriously attempt to kid me that you don't know what he would get out of this. Money, fame, woman, power. And, of course, you would only benefit from this." Jack said, winking. "Okay, okay. But what would you pay him?" Phil asked.

"I can't talk numbers, but I can assure you, it will be more than enough. Simply put, your son will make sure you are living like a king. Rather it be here in ViZion or somewhere else across the globe, something I would love to consider if I had that luxury. I never thought I'd actually say that, but these past five years have been hell, having to live in fear that the occupation would work its way south, and if not the occupation, then the rebels, surely they would come here." Jack said, his mind starting to wonder off to darker places before snapping back to attention. "Anyway, Phil. Get Michael back in here. This is a win-win situation for all of us. You, me, the department, the city, and of course your son." he said, smiling.

A week later, Michael was in his uniform, meeting everyone in the department. We would start off on the streets a few days per week, but as time goes on, would be pulled from the street and play the face of the entire department. Kind, strong, good-looking, and young. Exactly the image this department needed.

After visits to six stations, he finally met Ryan Anderson, his street partner. "Michael, meet your new partner, Ryan Anderson.." stated Jack. Ryan was a 47 year old veteran of the force, having been working the streets of Anolog City for over twenty years. His black hair was short, his dark brown skin rough. His face was like a brick.

Michael grew a large grin, then giving Ryan a hug, something that shocked Ryan. "It's great to finally meet you! They keep telling me about how great my partner is!" he exclaimed while embracing the shocked Ryan.

"Uhh, well... ya, it's nice to meet you, too. Umm... Michael." studdered Ryan. "But why the hell are you giving me a hug?" he finally asked his mind settled from being suprised like that. "What, I can't hug my new partner? C'mon, don't tell me you're to manly to hug your partner. After all, if we're gonna work the streets in this city, we gotta trust either, right?"

Ryan suddenly pushed the rookie back, "What?!" he said, then grabbing Jack by the arm and pulling him to the side. "What the hell? What the fuck is he talking about?!" Ryan demanded, "The hell am I having that rookie having my back in this shithole of a city! Why the fuck did you tell him that?!"

Jack replied, "Hey, this is only temporary. Relax, he'll be off the street very quickly. Now go over there and apologize. You know how important that kid is to this department!" commanded Jack.

As Ryan walked back over to Michael, the grumbled to himself, but suddenly realizing Michael was looking at him, put on a smile. "Look kid, sorry about that. Welcome to the force!" Ryan said excitedly with a smile.

Michaels frown reversed back into a smile. "Look man, I know I'm the rookie, and you don't think I'm made of the stuff you are. And know what, you're probably right, I probably can't be as good as you. But God as my witness, I have your back, and you need to trust me on that while we're out there."

They headed out, Jack taking him to the finally eighteen stations across the city before dropping him off at Ashley's house. "Michael, once again, I must say... welcome to the ACPD! You are exactly what we need... now go, have fun and get some sleep for your first day on duty tomorrow!" Jack said.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Hey baby!" Ashley shouted as he walked into the house, "There's my policeman! How was your day?!" she asked. "Not bad, infact pretty good. It was like a heroes welcome." he said calmly.

Ashley was a pettitte girl, 21 years old. She had a radiant glow from her soft, fair skin and blonde hair. Her smile lit up an entire room, her blue eyes reminding one of the Sea on a sunny day. Her nose was picture perfect, as were her small dimples.

OOC: This is the prelude to an up-coming RP that will tie in a couple other threads over the next few days.
