Persecution and Hatred

(BTW, I lied about annexing, Im Annexing Cabinda province now as most of the crude oil is found there. so Aliff can you count Cabinda as a seperate entity? I.e. Angola. Cabinda.)
The city of Luanda was begging to regain her composure after the South African war of assimilation. Market traders were begging to get back to hawk there wares on the streets. Citizens of the city were finally begining go about their usual business before the invasion occured (albeit with more apprehension due to the increasing South African military presence in the city.)
The sheer Vivacity of the cities diverse populace and their attitudes were not lost during the war and the citizens are keen on proofing that despite all the Turmoil the Citizens of Luanda will uphold their dignity regardless of any adverse situations that may befall them (such as the war of assimilation)
Therefore it was very prudent for the South African authorities to allow the cities first Carnival since the the begining of the war to take place.
The Carnival was truly a sensious feast for the eyes and the soul to behold.
The carnival consisted of Traditional Angolan tribal dancing mixed with Portuguese colonial celebratory traditions with a slight twinge of the "contemporary" . The irrepressable Local and international Hip Hop musci scene was present where many of the locals do not speak a word of english but somehow knew and sung along to all the expletives and lyrics for a certain english speaking rap song that was emanating throughout the later stages of the carnivale.
Suprisingly there were few incidents during and after the carnival with only. the occaisional seemingly obligatory scuffle with the police afterwards. There were only about a few dozen citizens arrested on that night. and most of thoses citizens were arrested for intoxicated and disorderley behaviour.
On a different note Reperations to the cities Infrastructure were going along at a frantic pace. and the Prospects for better job opportunities in the Petroleum industry excited many Angolan citizens.
The United South African Petroleum company set up its headquarters in the Austere former Portuguese colonial quater.
And like a symbol for corporate lust and Greed the new Luanda oil Refinery was being constructed adjacent to a Profoundly Impoverished slum district. which kind of makes an ironic statement about the current political situation that despite being next to all the oil the poor Luandan is being deprived of the revenues.
Sleek and Aesthetically pleasing South African and Zimbabean BMWS and mereceds clash with Rustic and sometimes delapidated Angolan minibusses and ramshackle cars on the NewInter city Motorway.
