Freoan Forces Uncover Rebel Cache!

Associated Press:

Soldiers and militiamen in Freoa had reason to rejoice today, as they located and secured a sizable stockpile of weapons and equipment hidden by insurgent forces early this morning. The many weapons and vehicles, which are now being placed into service with the Freoan government and civilian militias, have been described as 'a great boon' by First Citizen Steele. "With most of our industrial sector focused on civilian manufacturing, every gun and every bullet we take from these mysterious terrorists goes a long way towards the strengthening of our military, and the eventual defeat of the insurgents" he told reporters this morning. "I won't go into details, but we captured a significant number of tanks and other vehicles, saving us the trouble of manufacturing new ones to replace those lost in the war against the old regime".

Freoa has had many problems in the past year with insurgent forces, who want to reinstate the old monarchy. They are believed to be led by former Crown Prince Theodore IV, and supported by an unknown but powerful ally supplying them both additional personnel and new equipment. The Freoan Republican Self-Defense Force has kept the situation from exploding into all-out war, and disrupted insurgent operations enough to keep the situation relatively under control, but the equipment found in caches such as the one uncovered this morning, as well as information from captured terrorists, suggests that an as yet unknown power is backing the rebels. Freoan intelligence agencies are frantically trying to identify the culprit. According to a government official who wishes to remain anonymous "We know another country is backing these terrorists, there's no doubt there, but whoever they are, they're covering their tracks very thoroughly. We're doing our best, but it looks like what we need is some kind of break, and perhaps even our own international support."

The Freoan government is asking citizens to remain calm, but to be especially wary of suspicious activity. Terrorists attacks such as bombings, kidnappings and industrial sabotage have become increasingly common in recent months.
