The Parthians

Persepolis Prison, Parthia
The SAVAK agent looked at the bloodied pulp of their quarry, tied to a chair, shreiking from the fingernails pulled out one by one, the massive electric shocks applied to the fingers and toes, burns from cigarettes to the arms and soles of the feet, and a consistent string of beatings with everything from crowbars to bare fists, the once proud Communist sat weeping for mercy, divulging information in a constant stream. As his interrogator eyed him carefully, he smiled a bit, "Thank you for your cooperation, we had always assumed that you Communists were a dead force in Parthia since our crackdowns a decade ago, now, we can ensure that is true. For that, I can give you death now, mercifully, and preserve the lives of your family from further harassment." Smiling, the SAVAK agent removed a gun from his holster, placed it behind the head of his suspect, and let loose a single bullet, laughing wildly as the lifeless, now headless corpse slumped forward.
He had achieved the greatest breakthrough of national security in many years, having personally managed to extract information on high ranking Communists in Parthia, leaders of the Party once thought extinct in the Shahdom now would once again become targets of SAVAK, who would uproot this menace once again.
Persepolis, Parthia
Two black vans sat in front of a warehouse in the industrial district, officially abandoned, it was the site the intelligence source had led SAVAK towards, the site which, the source claimed, was the current central location of the Communist Party of Parthia, and of other banned leftist organizations operating alongside them. On the order of a radio in each van, four heavily armed SAVAK agents deployed, moving into the entrance, and with a simple shotgun blast, opening the door for the strike team to enter, finding a dozen men inside, who were quickly subdued with tear gas fired through the windows, while they were handcuffed and led off to the black vans, with hoods placed over their heads.
The suspects were brought to Persepolis Prison, each into an individual interrogation chamber, where they were identified, and with that complete, their names were erased from the database of citizens, SAVAK strike teams went active, seizing the immediate families of the Communists, bringing them too into the Prison, while their names were erased from the database, and all records of their existence expunged. Now, the interrogators went to work, torturing each one to divulge the names of 10 leftists, who were then targetted by further SAVAK strike teams as black secret police vans moved across Persepolis, arresting whole families and dragging them off to prison. Further tortures of suspects yeilded a continuous string of names, packing the prison with 17,000 leftists, along with 20,000 family members.
With the prison filled to capacity, the Parthian secret police force loaded the convicts into trucks, bringing them out into the deserts outside the city, and, as each truck arrived, lined them on top of a trench and shot them into it, sprinkling a layer of lime and soil over each new level of bodies, filling each trench up, until all had been shot and disposed of. Now, all that remained was to give a media announcement through Parthian News Network, informing the public of the destruction of Communists.
Parthian News Network Broadcast
"...In other news, 37,000 leftists and leftist sympathizers were apprehended and disposed of by SAVAK today, in what promises to be the first of a nationwide assault upon leftist infiltrators in our magnificent nation. SAVAK has not said what other cities will be targetted for purges, but does say they intend to continue until at least 150,000 leftists and their allies are dead, since they pose a great threat as a fifth column force within our nation. As incentive for patriotic citizens to inform them, SAVAK offers a $25,000 reward to anyone who provides information leading to the arrest of any leftist or leftist sympathizer.
More, after the break."
