Buried deep in the dim grey terrain of the Aslanic Mountains stood the central government building of the old province of Gafeur. The evening sky was picturesque, the sun setting between two mountain peaks with snow beginning to fall, touching upon the dim grey rock that was the foundation for the new nation of The Aslanic Mountains.

The leaders of the old nations of Gafeur and Aslania sat in a room together by a fireplace, hunched over a piece of off white paper. Dressed formally with top buttons and ties slackened, jackets removed, they talked quietly with an air of importance about them. John N Harolds scrawled on the paper, before handing over the heavy ornate looking fountain pen to Stanley Farthing. He paused, hovering over the place he was meant to sign. He glanced up at Harolds who looked back, catching each others eyes for a moment before he scrawled his name also.

Harolds picked up the piece of paper, and took Farthing by the hand.

Today is the day that the peoples of Gafeur, and the peoples of Aslania come together. Today is the day that will change the history of our region, restoring stability and ending a conflict fought for a whole ten years. Before me I have a piece of documentation, signed by myself, former President of Aslania, John N Harolds and Leader of Gafeur Stanley Farthing, outlining the legislative process and system of government by which the new state of The Aslanic Mountains shall adopt.

The situation was a curious one. Two nations with two conflicting views and in complete contrast to each other combining to form a nation who's beauty and perfection was worthy of commendation.

However, one thing was apparent, and in urgent need of a solution. Despite an abundance of military armaments and power, it had little arable land and other resources. Capitalist and rich, they had a lot to offer. However, what they lacked could ruin them.

The Allied States of The Aslanic Mountains asks the world for trade and allies in these early stages.

There are currently two main places for you requested embassy to be situated. These are the two capital's of each of the old provinces, Halifi and Lighton. They are similar in many ways, with the crucial difference of being the home of one group in The Aslanic Mountains. We would like to remind you under the new statute these two groups are equals, and the position of your embassy shall not affect relations with groups in any way. Central government building is not located in either city.

Lacking mountains in Ponbridge (being an island city state) our troops are in dire need of training in rough terrain.

Our consumer goods include televisions, computers, refridgerators (for storing all that food that nations have offered to import), and portable electrical generators to power all that stuff.

We do indeed have a deal. The training area is being set-up as we speak, and instructors sorting out training programmes. The location will be ready for use within four months and we will be able to accomodate 4,000 troops at a time.

Consumer goods would be good to have in our nation, although we are concerned about prices and the economy. We are offering you instead the chance to set-up your business here. We can assign you land free of charge for manufacturing and land to sell your goods. This way, goods should be cheaper for the people of The Aslanic Mountains. Corporation tax will be charged, although not for the first year. You may accept this offer of just export your goods overseas.

Within the nation of Pontbridge we have a large corporation conglomerate called "Gorillatech" which provides very much everything in Pontbridge. Heavy laws govern their conduct within our nation including the 20% ownership by the Republic of Pontbridge.

We would be happy to allow Gorillatech to move in to your nation. They will be regulated to use local Aslanic labour and also to keep reinvesting money in the Aslanic Mountains for the next three years.

The terrain wields little room for such a facility. If you could build on a mountain face or would take the time to level out some ground without destroying the environment, we would accept.

Ultrasilvanian organic grains, fruits, dairies and meats are renowned throughout Central Europe, and beyond. We would be pleased to start commercial relations with Aslanic Mountains. Our products come at a relatively high price, due to their quality, but in the interest of a healthy population we believe that you will have no problems commiting to trade agreements. Our most prominent weapons company, AAT (Aslanic Arms Tech), is already working as we are told at 103% production. However, they are with increased demand extending their operations having obtained government permission.

We cannot promise you anything for six months when they are expected to be able to meet the demand. We do however, accept your trade. You diamonds can be used for further trading or to sell on in jewellry. We think this is a very worthy trade for both parties.
