Northfordian National News

Following the deaths of two Northfordian Peacekeepers in a friendly fire incident, there has been a mass outpouring of emotions onto the streets of redbridge today, signalling a change in public moon over Northfordian intervention in foreign affairs.

John Pritchard and Harold-De-Lookisiville, officers in the Combat Engineering Regiment that werestationed in the region inhabited by the Khornate Tribes met their end last week, after the helicopters they were in collided.

Their families, who are 'rightly' outraged, have issued the following statement.

"In serving, our children thought they would help the world, and bring stability to it. Obviously their deaths have proved that this ideal could not happen......."

In response to this, several anti-war charities have taken to the streets, in an attempt to rally their cause.

Unfortunately, their protests have taken a violent turn, with, so far, 15 people being hospitalised, and 3 people dead. Northfordian Police have been stationed outside the Embassies of GASN nations, and have been placed on high alert.

OOC: This is going to progress at it's own pace, culumating with Northford ordering it's own bluewater navy. As it stands, if you want to RP a person inside your said Embassy, feel free. Charachter RP's are always nice.

The Aesonic embassy had reacted to the riots by heavily beefing up security. There were snipers on the roofs, and guards at all main entrances.

The head of security, a Colonel Ross, had requested to speak with his counterpart in the Northfordian police forces outside. Currently, while waiting for a response, Ross was cleaning his guns.

"Things are getting ugly out there," said an aid, coming in.

"Tell me something I don't know," retorted Ross. "Any signs of an angry mob coming towards the embassy?"

"Not yet, sir."

"Godsdamn it, we weren't even in Khornate. If anyone breachs embassy walls, you have permission to use deadly force."

"Yes, sir."

North Tolemac Official Statement

The citizens of North Tolemac offer their condolences to the people of Northford for their loss. The noble sacrifice of your fighting men will be mourned by our people.

We believe it is perfectly natural for a nation to question its actions in the wake of a disaster such as the one you have suffered. Still, we implore you to honor your fallen heroes by continuing their work. Our nation strongly supports the GASN alliance. We feel there is no purpose more noble than protecting the rights others. In this day and age, our world is filled with predators. Many nations are willing to go to war for no better reason than to take what their neighbor has. As a small nation, our people rest easier at night knowing benevolent nations such as yours are out there.

While your nation may do as you wish, we felt it may bring your nation some relief to know that nations such as yours are making a positive difference in the world, and we thank you for that.

Respectfully,

- Henry Logan

Speaking slowly a mass of cameras, the Prime Minister, Alan Brookes, spoke slowly.

"Tonight, we have witnessed a new form of terror in the Commonwealth. Sheer ignorance of the population has allowed such barbaric behaviour to foster.....

....I say only this: Leave Redbridge and Richmond tonight, or we will not hesitate to end such animalistic protests with sheer force."

Walking quickly inside, Samuel Gregs opened a door into Colonel Ross's office, offering his hand to shake. He was wearing full Northfordian Riot Gear, and evidently sweaty.

"Appologies for the wait, Colonel, things are a *bit* busy outside. How may I help?"

Colonel Ross sent down his gun, and firmly clasped Gregs's hand. "Wanted to see if there was anything I could do to help. I'd offer manpower, but somehow I think that wouldn't help calm things down. I also wanted to give you fair warning. Any hostile touches foot on embassy grounds, they'll be treated as invaders on Aesonic soil."

Releasing his hand, Gregs, spoke.

"Sounds only fair, Colonel. As it stands, we have got thirty men around the walls, as well as another fifty around own perimeter we have established, approximately 300 meters outside the edge of the embassy grounds.

As it stands now, we have two UAVs in the air, also, and a Naval Corvette less than 4 miles from here to evacuate you and your men should the situation remain."

He paused, weighing up his options for a moment.

"Colonel, since we are both allies, I'll be frank with you. The situation out there is....fucked. My Sat-Phone is linked to the the Police Command Centre, and we have been told there is upwards of three quarters of a million people out there tonight. We've completely lost control of it. What started as small scale riots this afternoon seems to have bloomed into something completely different. We don't know where all these people are coming from, Colonel, but things could get rough. Are there any particularly vunerable people in the embassy?"

"Nah. We got the diplomat'' kids out as soon as things started getting ugly, along with all the non-vital civilians. Everyone that's left knows the risks if everything goes south, and they're prepared to deal with them. Offer works both ways though. If any of the powers-that-be in Northford need to dissapear until things cool down, Prime Minister's kids, for example, New Aeson is willing and able to take them in for the duration."

He sighed and shook his head. "Three quarters of a million? That can't just be over a couple of dead chopper pilots, no offense to the deceased. Not unless there's more to the story than I've been told."

So glad you put that last sentance in:P

Ever so quickly, a glance of doubt flashed over Greg's eye, before he continued.

"Well... thats a funny one, since we're not told either. That said, the grapevine does always exist.

Before we get onto rumours, I may or may not have though, we have more pressing business.

As it stands, one of our two UAVs needs to come down to refuel. Problem is that the refueling station we were operating has had to be locked down, and we're not going to have access to it. If it is all the same to you, would you mind if we landed it, and recharged it in the embassy grounds? Its electric, and should only take a 30 or so minutes."

21-10-2006, 19:42
Colonel Ross nodded. "Of course. I don't know how long we can expect before someone out there," he waved in the vague direction of the angry mobs, "Gets the bright idea to cut power, but we have our own generators, so we should be all right. In the meantime, apart from whatever rumors you've heard about those choppers, I'd like a briefing on that mob out there. Are they heavily armed? Do they have any real purpose or are they just looting?"

"Thank you", came the brief reply from Greg's, as he started pressing buttons on what looked like a small plastic plate attached to his vest.

"Sorry about this", he said, before he started talking to the radio, "Officer, we can feed the bird here, Bring her down. I repeat, Bring her Down."

Tapping the thin piece of plastic again, he diverted his attention back to the Colonel.

"Rumours..." he started, "Well, I don't know. I'm not officially Military, so I'm not pained to tell you this, but basically, people think there's either organised crime at work here, or some kind of terrorist act. The facts speak for themselves. Redbridge and Richmond are cities of 12 million and 34 million, respectively. While they are effectively one city due to geographical considerations, it several things need to be realised. Three quarters of a million people don't appear out of no-where. And transportation wise, they simply couldn't 'arrive'. Our roads arn't big enough for something like that to happen without us realising it."

He looked over to where the Colonel waved to seconds ago.

"What makes it worse is the circumstances of the friendly fire. They were both killed by a Bullet Can being ruptured next to them, causing the Helicopters to crash. Bullet cans don't just explosivly rupture, although the investigation ruled that there was no foul play at work. Secretly, however, the armed forces are reeling. It must have been murder. There's no other way to describe it. The way things are left, the other, non-GASN part of the Army have basically been told that if things arn't settled by 8 am tomorrow, they are being sent in heavy."

He sighed.

"I just don't buy it. This whole thing, is too quick, too violent. On the issue of arms, we're fucked. It seems that essentially the groups have split into a number of smaller groups, each around 30 000 strong, and are each moving into various parts of the Twin-Capitals. Sometimes it seems like mindless looting, sometimes it seems almost like they are a hoard being commanded. It just doesn't make sense.

Anyway, we're safe here for the moment. As it stands, the nearest group is about a 10 minute ride by car, and are 40 000 strong. Gun wise... they seem to be bogged down in a fight with the armed residents of the area in which they live in the area they are moving through. From what the UAV has shown, it's not pretty. They're burning flags. Our flags.

If they come here, how much firepower have you gentleman got?"

Despite being new here I have browsed NS enough to know that my nation (Britain) would like to see the GASN fall flat on it's face.

Is there a way my nation could contact the rioters to help arm and fund them, turn this anti-GASN unrest into a fully blown revolt against your nations government?

The Colonel nodded. "I have two hundred and fifty security personnel total, plus fifty armed civilians whom I am convinced will acquit themselves well in a firefight. I have more firearms than I know what to do with. I have ten snipers on the roof, and they're some of the best men in New Aeson. I have a heavy machine gun set up in the lobby behind some sand bags, and another in front of the ambassador's office. The only thing we have to worry about, if the mob is indeed a mob, and not as organized as I begin to fear, is being overwhelmed by sheer numbers."

He sighed, put down his gun, and picked up another. "If they're smart, and they really want us, they'll put us under siege. Otherwise they risk buying this real estate at a higher price than it's worth."

"Now, I'm sure that you don't need advice from me, but, if I was in charge of putting down these riots, I wouldn't worry as much about the rank and file on the street. I'd look for whoever's stirring this up."

"300 People", reliterated Gregs, "Well, thats puts us at a significant advantage. It was my previous understanding we were a lot less armed, to be honest. As it stands, I suggest we maintain our respective perimeters, unless a conflict occurs, in which case, our sharpshooters aquaint themselves with your men on the roofs, and we bring in all our heavy stuff into the embassy itself. While you may have more arms, I think it would be prudent it we took advantage of our knowedge of the area and attempted to fight the mob off ourselves, until the effect of sheer numbers became too much. I don't know about what other equipment you have, but us Northfordian Guardsmen (Riot Police) are armoued up to the hilt, and can probably take as much punishment as we give."

He paused, catching breath.

"On the issue of catching the organisers, intelligence is already on it, although not much progress has been made. I know this isn't very heartening, but the attitude is to let the mob wear itself out (on us), before going in heavy. I'm sorry to say this, but if they come, we will simply have to do our best alone."

He put his Over-gloves back on.

"I need to go back to our perimeter, Colonel. Here is a radio, and you can contact me with it if you have any issues. Is that alright?"

[OOC: Next post I make will have a bit of 'Action' in it, if its ok with you, as well as Stats for my riot police....I'm about to tuck into a pizza, so excuse the short ending:P]

The colonel nodded, and took the radio. "Best of luck to you and your men. If you need to fall back just let us know, and we'll open up the gates for you." He set his gun on the table, and started cleaning another.

He also started humming an old Aesonic battle song under his breath. One thing was for sure. Any mob trying to take this embassy away from him was going to pay the price.

SICA: Special Infantry Combat Attire:

The SICA consists of the clothing and armour that a Commonwealth Guardsmen is issued with when he is to be placed in a High Risk Combat Situation (HRCS), to provide him with the most protection, most manoeuvrability, and the most sensory enhancement, all, at a reasonable weight.

The underlying concept behind SICA is that of layering, for many years it has been decided that for every aspect of clothing, such as warmth, moisture management and even ballistic protection is best handled in a piecemeal manner, addressing each aspect through the implementation of another layer of protection.

Before any aspect of combat is undertaken, it is clear the user of the equipment must be both comfortable and alert, so it therefore makes logical sense to address this issue first.

To that end, the first part of the SICA is a full body skin-tight constant environment suit. This aspect of the SICA is designed to wick moisture and act as thermal lagging, thereby helping the user to maintain a constant body temperature, one of the most important aspects in homeostasis.

The thickness of this layer is negligible, between 1-3mm

As well as this, the first layer of the SICA also contains some other functions. The first of such functions is that of an inbuilt urine storage bladder. This allows for soldiers to relieve themselves in combat without needing to undress themselves, or risk soiling themselves. The other main secondary feature of the body suit, is, through a series of small sensors, to provide a live feed of temperature, humidity, heart rate and blood pressure. These sensors feed to a micro USB cable that has a 4 inch cable. This feeds out of the inbuilt waste band, into the second and third layer of the SICA.

Once this function is completed, the SICA then has the Second Layer. In common terms, these items would be described as the ‘Undervest’ and ‘Pads’. The aim of this layer is dualfold, to provide covert ballistic protection to the body in places not covered in other layers, and to provide physical protection to exposed areas of the body that are often damaged in the ‘rough and tumble’ of combat.

This layer primarily consists of the Oblique-Ballistic-UnderGarment (OBUG), which is, visually, rather like a piece of medieval scale armour. This is simply due to the fact that to an untrained observer, that is what they are. Consisting of Level II protection for the Front and Back of the Torso, with level IIIA protection on the sides of the body, the Shoulders and the Groin. These are all made out of DragonSkin Technology, and consist of a number of Spectra backed Titanium pieces. The OBUG fits snugly to the body, and does not add significant bulk to the user.
The Second layer also consists of ridged protection pads. These protect the Shins and Forarms, with underclothing protection, and the Knees, Elbows and Shoulders with over the Clothing protection. These guards and pads are made Spectra/Titanium/ /HighImpactFoam, with the main titanium place encased in spectra and then backed with Foam. They are

The Third Layer of the SICA consists of the visibly seen clothing. Black or Woodland Camo Combat trousers don the legs, and a further ‘Ultralight’ T-shirt cover the body, itself covered by a full length shirt. They are made out of Rip-Stop Cotton, and have multiple pockets.

The Forth Layer consists of the Combat Utility Rig (CUR). This is a one-piece-unit, containing two holsters, a vest-rig, a thin backpack, as well as the Combat over-gloves. Starting with the backpack, it contains everything needed to keep a person fully integrated into 21st century warfare, for it is essentially a small computer. With sensors measuring everything from temperature to humidity, as well secure radio communications. It also contains a separate, rechargeable power source for the Combat Over-gloves, and functions to control UAV’s and UGV’s, giving the wearer true functionality. The Combat Over-gloves are a marvel of engineering. A thick, Kevlar re-enforced glove, with a ‘Mini-Mag’ type bulb built in above the wrist, it easily allows any dark areas to be illuminated. However, this is only one aspect of the Combat Over-Gloves. Within each finger tip is an electrode, which is wired back to the backpack. When activated by the touch of the back of the hand, each fingertip becomes, effectively, a stun prod, with 500 000 volts of electricity being provided from the power source in the backpack.

The Vest-Rig and the Holsters provide stowage for any kit the Guardsman may be issues, and, with the case of the Vest Rig, provide another layer of ballistic protection. The vest has level IV ballistic protection, with a hard titanium inserts, for protection against rifled rounds.

The Helmet worn by the Guardsman is also technologically advanced. It offers up to level III protection, and has integrated radio communications, serving as a primary communication device to the radio attached to the vest.

Arms carried by Guardsman:

1 XM8 rifle in Compact, or Sharpshooter, 30 Round Magazine, 300 Rounds Carried.
2 Brugger+Thomet MP 9 submachine gun, with Tactical Light, Red-Dot Sight, Silencer Included
2 Glock 18 Automatic Pistols, 31 Round Magazine, 6 Mags
‘Over-Gloves’-Personal Defence Weapon
4 Stun Grenades
1 Illumination Grenade
1 HE Grenade
Knives: 2 Throwing Knives, Belt Knife, and Bayonet

Also, per every 20 men:

3 Jackhammer automatic shotguns
1 SAW
3 Tango 51- Sniper Rifle

Gregs shook the Colonels hand once more, and headed out.

-Three Hours Later, approximately 22:00-

Gunshots are heard around the 300 meter outside the Riot Police Perimeter, with defesive positions being taken by the Police Forces, trying to evade detection. The plan was that if the mob would pass straight by, onto another target.

"Roger Green Group, Target sighted....Officers are presently hiding amongst undergrowth and buildings... awaiting instructions, over." came the call on the radio to Greg's.

"This is Greg's, Mobile Command hears you. If conflict breaks out, inform us. We'll send what we can over. Lethal Force is authorised".

That last post was more of a reference post, for the Record

Dropping low against the hedge lining the road, Samuel Gregs was the shadow of death against the mob in front of him. He couldn't make them out yet, however, the torches they carried and the fires they made allowed him to work out where they were.

"Fan out, Gents", he spoke to the other members of his team, who were behind him, crouched against the hedged, "I want us to line up against the wall, and give them a line of lead when they get close enough"

Slowly, Bond, Ungerforth, Gendrot, Tusack, and Tuitt fanned out along the road, making partial cover out of an overturned car, knocking off its doors, and positioning them between the central reservation to re-enforce the barrier they made out of their ballistic riot shields.

"Hammond", called out Greg's, to the Medic at the rear of the group, "Come with me, and take the JackHammer *(http://world.guns.ru/shotgun/sh10-e.htm). I'm taking the Sniper rifle, and want some close cover."

Hammond, who was ironically the unhealtiest of the group, shuffled forward.

"Where we going, Sir?", he asked, looking for cover...

"Up there", came the reply of Greg's, pointing to something very unusual

http://www.egsigns.co.za/images/roadsigns/overheadgantry.jpg

"Sir", came the reply of Hammond, "What the hell?", looking Greg's, who was now scaling a metal pole, Sniper Rifle over Sholder. (http://www.snipercentral.com/tango51.htm)

Slowly lining up in the crosshairs, its aggressiev form was charging towards a bystander when it was struck Thump, its' now lifeless body slumping towards the ground. Again, Thump, taking another person to the next world. On and on this went, until the first magazine was emptied.

"Hammond, I've taken down 8 of them, and I've got at least another hundred in my scopes. Get on the Radio, and tell the Aesonic Embassy that at this rate they'll have contact in approximately one hour, possibly two if we can hold this front for long enough".

"Roger that Sir", came the reply of Hammond, obeying his superior, "Calling them now"

Thump.... Thump..... with each thud of the sniper rifle came one more life ending. It would not be enough, though. It was merely thinning out the lines, taking the strongest. The mob did not know yet what was happening, and it was making them all the more angry. When they did find out, however, there would be troubles.

"Calling Colonel Ross.... this Officer Hammond, who is currently with Officer Guardsman Gregs. He has requested that I inform you that you will probably have contact in one, maybe two hours, depending on how much we can do here. He wants me to enquire as to how ready you are for combat? Please inform us, over"

Meanwhile, not too far in the distance, screaming could be heard, as well as gunshots and flashes. It seemed the two officers trapped only moments ago, were fighting their way out......

The Asgarnian Embassy was being locked down as soon as the riots began. Security forces loaded their FN 303 Less-Lethal Launchers, Riot Shoguns, and readied their M-18L Tasers. The Ambassador General of Asgarnieu issued a standard self-defense order. Anyone that attempted to get into the embassy that was not wearing a badge was to be subdued. Anyone that got through the formidable barrage of bean-bags, taser barbs, and stun rounds was to be shot on sight. The personnel in the embassy were very grateful for the armed police forces outside the embassy.

"Jeeze. This is not the time to be in this embassy." said one assistant.

"Tell me about it. Muy Malo." another said.

One thing was for sure, they were all hoping to get out of this situation in one piece...

While the extremely large porportioned riots began to pour into the street, the Dephirian Embassy chose to close it's doors. All Dephirians outside of it's gates were not allowed in for safety concerns. They, along with some soldiers, roused together. Within their arsenal were several hundred DGARs. Hopefully they didn't have to use brute force to calm the riots down...even if Dephire was not affiliated with the GASN.

Clandonian Consulate Building, Northford

Embasador Sir Villian Clewis watched the Clandonian News Network's coverage of the ongoing riots, just a few miles away. Rumours of attacks on other nations diplomatic missions were rife. He had the two Agusta A109's prepared for emergency take off, and the Clandonian Type 23 Duke Class destroyer was alerted for possible evac mission.

In response the live ammo had been ditched out, 30 Clandonian Marines from the 3rd Commando Brigade were now in full urban combat gear. G36K's loaded they stood guard, the blast proof gates were closed and on the two patio decks on either side of the fine building a pair of marines were setting up the GPMG's incase anything went wrong horridly. Inside the 6 snipers were loading and cleaning their L96's and M95's incase they were called in for work. The sharp shooters with the Acog mounted G36 would be more suited to the close firing. The embasador a former officer of Clandonia's army air corps opened his locked office cubard pulling out a SIG-552 and his MP7, he told his son to come in as well, only 17 but a promising officer of the Clandonian Airforce. His father gave him a L9A1 9mm Browning pistol incase things got very hairy.

For now they waited.

Colonel Ross picked up the radio. "We're as ready as we'll ever be, gentlemen." He picked up his guns and headed to the main embassy doors. Apart from a small door in the back of the kitchen, which was also being guarded, this was the only way in. The walls had been designed to be unscalable, and the only windows, (bulletproof, as it so happens) began on the second story.

As Ross had said, there was even a machine gun nest set up in the lobby, to mow down the mob as they entered. Ross moved to the center of the formation of guards behind the machine gun nest, and shouted, "Valhalla!"

The cry was echoed by the men, and then through the embassy. "Valhalla!"

Hammond replied, "Thats good Colonel. As it stands we've got two officers in the thick of it now, and once we've extracted them we'll be pulling back. We're unleasing sniper fire on them now, and they are coming to range of our sharpshooters now. Over and out."

Looking quickly at Gregs, who was, focused as ever, looking down the sniper rifle, he spoke. "Sir", he started, "The Colonel has told us they are ready to recieve us."

"That fantastic" stated Gregs, as another 'Thump' was heard echoing out of the barrel, "As it stands, we need to draw some fire off the two men we have down there..... how about giving that Jackhammer of yours some exercise?" he asked, looking down at the automated shotgun that was slung over the metal pole Hammond was resting on.

"The Jackhammer always wants exercise..." said Hammond, slyly.

With that, Gregs put the sniper rifle down, cocking the safety's.

"MEN", he yelled down to the rest of the team that were below him, "I'm going to let of a flash bang, to get their attention. Cover your eyes. When they start over here, tell them once to go home, then open fire. We'll be trying to flank them, and help Yates and Florence escape. When we have them, we'll radio you, and you can do a 'Meet and Greet'. Understand?"

"Like Crystal Sir", came the reply of Ungerford, as he covered his eyes.

Preparing the flash bang, Gregs spokes.

"Alright then. I'll throw it, and get down from here, and run. Just cover your eyes, and prepare for the shit to hit the fan".

Click.................

Boom

With that, Gregs armoued body slid down along the rail, and into the darkness, with Hammond and the Jackhammer closly behind. The flash was seen, and now the battle would come.

"Yeh, man, but fuck, there's two guy's over there who are trying to be fucking action hero's, what the fuck, man? I say we unload a shitting on them first, then go get some pussy from that fire"

@ The Illiorian Embassy in Northford

The embassy was like most of the others that Illior operated and owned. It was a small mansion of sorts, with outer grounds and a surrounding wall when the government had bought it. Since then, the mansion had been remodeled into a 5 story (2 underground, 3 above) aesthetically pleasing complex, with rather unaesthetic 15 foot cement walls with walkways on top surrounding the rear yard, which was big enough for a H-75 Helicopter or two H-19s, and were presently holding two H-19s. The small front yard had a guard operated gate, and 15 foot tall iron stake walls.

With the word of riots, the normally docile embassy became a fortress. Sandbags and extra weapons were brought up from the storage area on the bottom floor, and the whole compliment of helljumpers was activated. The Guardpost became an expendable machine gun emplacement, with 2 6.5mm Grendel shooting II-19 GPMGs and four other men holding their II-17 Rifles. The windows of the embassy were all closed tight, and the roof was littered with sniper teams, each with their ISR-15 Sniper rifles set up.

On the roof was the CO, a major who somehow managed to get promoted to Embassy commander. He was just finishing his report to the Ministry of Foreign Establishment. No she won't leave... I've tried persuading her and her family... yes she is a stubborn bitch... get me a back up compliment here by the morning please... well god damned try and get it sorted out with the Northfordian government... I don't give a shit if their phones aren't working, just get them here soon... no, 125 men is not enough... I'll try sir, but I doubt it'll work... yes I have issued the live ammunition... yes, the '15s have been issued... no, I haven't armed the H-19s yet... WIll do sir. He hung up frustrated. "Franklin!" He yelled.

A rather flustered corporal jogged over, flipping his night vision goggles up and throwing a quick salute. "Yes Sah," He said in the customary northern Illiorian accent.

"Get on the horn and see if you can get some reinforcements from the Northies... and tell Jackson to get on the horn with Jefic (GEF-E(IC)) and see if they've got any incoming convoys that have a company or two that they can airlift in for us." Major Kris Mark said.

"Will do, Maj," He said, flipping the salute off as he sprinted off. Fuck, we're in a hairy situation... Corporal Nick Franklin thought to himself as he entered the COM center in the middle of the complex. Soon after he delivered his message to Jackson, He began typing his own, but was interrupted midway through by the ambassador.

"Corporal, what's the situation?" Ambassador Jessica Hartwell asked as she read over what he had been typing.

"Ain't lookin' pretty marm, the news' saying roving groups in the thousands, Maj wants some major backup from the HJ compliment of the GASN Escort force that's comin' into harbor tommorow, and the Northie police HQ's lines are fucked, so I gotta get a bulletin to 'em fast." He splurted as he typed.

"Just to let you know, My family and I are here the whole way with you, and we'll fight too if it comes to that." The Ambassador said, patting the Corporal on the shoulder as she left.

Like that fuckin' helps... he thought as he finished his message.

@ Aesonic Embassy Perimeter

"Carter, chuck me another clip, I'm running low"

Dodging under a large rubbish bin, and doing a side roll towards a wall, he ducked behind his prone partner.

"I can't", he said, quickly, "I'm down to my last ten rounds on the (X) M-8 too. Our best bet is to bust out the MP-9's, and try and run and gun it back to the line."

Carter, the one in front, let off a few rounds at a dozen or so men crossing their path.

"Sound good?" he asked, firing off some more bullets until a resounding 'click' was heard, signaling to him that he was out. "I'll lay down a bit of covering fire, while you set them up."

"Sure thing, Sir" came the reply from the other officer, set down a couple of small satchels from his bag. "Coming right up", he muttered, quickly, as he set about preparing them, assemballing the sholder stock to the gun, and fitting the silencer and tactical light.

"Oliver's" called Carter, "I'm going to pull my Glocks. Think you can do that on the move? I want us to get inside that store", he said, pointing to, what looked like, a burned out coffee shop about 50 metres away.

"Sure thing. Just make sure you don't get me shot at Carter....you know I don't trust this dammed body armour"

"Body armour?" laughed Carter, "Oliver's, that kit you're wearing could protect you from a rifle bullet to the chest, as I'd be happy to demonstrate"

Unsafetying the two Glock-18 machine pistols in his hands, he continued...

..."as I'd be happy to demonstrate, if we had the ammo"

=======

Back at the improvised barrier, things were shaping up a little better... Bond, Ungerforth, Gendrot, Tusack, and Tuitt had starting seletivly picking targets at the upper end of their range, their 3.5x scopes picking up targets, who effortlessly fell to the ground once hit.

Despite this however, it did seem like one or two in the approaching mob were a little more armed than first thought. While Class III weapons were available in Northford, they were generally uncommon since they were subject to rather lax licencing laws. It seemed someone was taking pot shots at them though, for several of the ballistic riot shields they were taking cover against where shattered, with Grendrot taking a glancing hit from something powerful to his chest. While he was not in immediate danger. Ungerford, the officer left in command, decided it was best not to chance things, and requested help from the Aesonic Embassy.

"Calling Colonel Ross, Over? This is Officer Ungerford, one of the Northfordian Riot Control force outside your embassy. We have a walked wounded and would like to know if we could evac him to your facilities over?"

Clicking the Radio, he waited for a reply.

====

Elsewhere, in the Embassy Zone of Northford, things were getting rough. While the 30 000 strong mod had seperated out somewhat, there was still a potent threat, with the Dephirian, Asgarnian, Clandonian, as well as the Illiorian embassies all locking down through fear of their personal safeties. Around each of them, a handful of Northfordian Guardsmen ( essentially SWAT-SF-Riot Police officers hybrids ) set up around each.

As it stood, most of the embassies were keeping themselves to themselves, either relying on their own secuity personell, or choosing to distance themselves from the Northfordian Operatives.

The Illiorian Embassy however, sent the following message to the Guardsmen HQ, which was snuggled in possibly the safest part of Redbridge. Situated in the Military-Run part of the docks that was usually only tasked with maintaining the coastal batteries of the Area and refueling escort ships, tonight it effectively became the hub of the Northfordian Police.

"Our 'Riot Centre' desk has got a message from the Illiorian Embassy" came a message to Yankle Frederic, the Officer in command of the HQ.

"Send it over", he replied, having it played onto the large projector that was the centrepiece of the Control Centre".

With that, a couple of Clerks scurried off, and within minutes, a small, light helicopter was in the air, on the way to the Illiorian Embassy, requesting permission to land.

The Following message was played repeatedly over the the standard communication waveslengths of Nortford and Illior:

"This is Guardmen Chopper HGX-40FD over, requesting permission to land within Embassy Juristictions, over?"

They waited for a reply....

For any nation that has ships appearing in my waters like *that*, back the hell off. Unless you care to RP some suprise attack or something, bear in mind ships take time to arrive. Also, because of the escort force, and all that, I have an load of escorts that are just moving through the open waters surrounding my country.

Also, the Government is still in control, this is just one night in two (joined) cities, so, if you attempt to land people in my cities, and you're not GASN and have an explicit invitation (i.e Countries Escort Force countries, Craven, blah blah, Rosdivan,), I'll take it as an oppotunistic invasion. And, since this isn't Martial Law (yet), all my Navy is still doing it's usual patrolling stuff.... but that doesn't matter, does it? Since we all know ships don't just appear of the coastline, unless you're an GEF (GASN Escort Force) contributor, or member.

Also, @ Hataria, you can do what you want, but this is going to be over in (at the most) an IC week, which is the very possibly, the shortest time you could get arms into my country by, so, short of writing nasty IC posts, you can't really do much. Appologises.

If I've just included you as a passing reference, and you want to do an RP, just have a couple of your Embassy staff calling Northfordian CO's, or RP a bit about 'The Mob' approaching your compound.

Edited to add: I'll do an official government statement at some point, too... to address Shaz, and a few other things I want to bring to bear, IC. Keep watching, folks!

Tentile, Arston Naval Base
The Arston Naval base was one of the larger of the Naval bases operated in Illior, being able to house 5 full fleets in its docks at one time, making it a huge, busy, polluted, and testosterone overloaded area. Adding onto all the fleet commands at Arston was the GASN Escort Force East (Illiorian Command) Headquarters.

It had been a usual shift, except for a transmission from Northford, originating from the Illiorian Embassy. The Coms officer passed the request to his CO, who then authorized the deployment from Group 18, a group guarding several grain tankers supposed to finish docking in Redbridge in the next hour, and not supposed to leave for 10 days due to a shore leave allotment.

Group 18, Redbridge, Northford

The commander of Group 18 was a rather Gruff old Captain, who looked the order over and passed it on to the HJ commander on the ships. He looked over the orders, the image attached, and the sitrep. He Decided to send out 5 H-75s with a total of 125 men, and fast rope them down into the back yard, and drop extra ammunition, gear, food and such to keep the compound running.

The 5 heavy lift helicopters began to load up off the back of destroyers, with crewmen helping move supplies into the aircraft and tie them down. A message was relayed to the embassy via Sattelite that their request was on the way.

Illiorian Embasssy Compound, Northford Embassy Sector
"Hey Artie!" Johnson yelled as he saw the message on the screen and heard the other over his headset.

An older man, not part of the company of helljumpers, but an embassy techie walked over. "What we got?" He asked as he read the message over and listened to the bird's message and heard it pass over. "Shit... Get Kris to get those choppers in the air, we need to get this police helo on the ground, get whatever they have off, and then get the heavies in." He said as he pressed the Mic button on the headset. "HGX-40FD, HGX-40FD, this is Illiorian Embassy Control, stay over the streets for 5, while the pad is cleared. Be prepared to make a touch-off, we've got 5 Heavies inbound from the GEF with reinforcements."

He Finished the message and then proceeded to watch the two H-19s spin up, and take off, each with 6 helljumpers, with two in each setting up gattling guns, and the other four with rifles ready to shoot at any sign of trouble. Once he saw them get to altitude and clear the LZ, he turned the Mic on again, "HGX-40FD, HGX-40FD, You are clear for a touch and go, heavies ETA in under 5 minutes, so get your stuff off and go!"

"Roger that" replied a clipped Northfordian Voice, "Proceeding now"

In a matter of moments the Northfordian Police Helicopter touched down, it's rotors temporarily stopping to allow a man to quickly hop out. He was a medium sized man, and was, quite strangly, wearing a tidy, Navy Blue suit. He was holding a large attaché case, and, quite strangly, and SMG.

"Hello", he started, "I am Harrold Chambers, and am your Northfordian Liason officer. May we continue this inside?", he asked, waving off the Helicopter that dropped him off

24-10-2006, 23:18
A Sergeant was waiting, and watched in wonder as the man in the blue suit got off. Fuck... He thought to himself, they sent us some fucking desk monkey, atleast we got another company inbound. "Nice to meet you Mr. Chambers, I'm Sergeant Keller, and I guess I'm your go to guy." The sky began to hum as the five heavies approached. "Let's get you set up in the Com center, and Hurry, we got a back-up company being flown in from GEF-E(IC)18 right now." He said as he began walking toward a door, opened it, yelled something inside, and 12 men rushed out. Keller waved at Chambers, welcoming him into the compound.

They walked up to the makeshift headquarters area, and found Mr. Chambers a place to set up. Keller introduced Chambers to the staff in the area, from Artie to Corporal Johnson.

Back out in the yard was havoc, as the first helo landed, with it's 25 troops all armed to the teeth, and the other supplies were loaded up. The troops had to disembark, disarm, and help the others already there unload. It took them 10 minutes to get the first one done. The next landed and the process repeated. It took over an hour for all five helos to unload and move out, and just in time too.

The latest Sat photo showed that the large IR mass was only 4 miles away.

Entering into the HQ, Chambers set down his Briefcase, and took off his Jacket. Stereotypes, eh? he thought, almost aloud.

"Any of you gents have any problems with me carrying a gun?" he asked.

"Good", he replied before he got an answer.

Unbuttoning his shirt with one hand, and popping his briefcase onto a nearby desk, he started to talk. He unclipped the briefcase, and it opened, revealing a laptop, as well a number of firearms, and some electronical gadgetry.

"Sargent Keller?", he called, trying to get the mans attention.

"Sergeant?" he called, now, his shirt off, showing an undercover bullet proof vest covering a toned, muscular body only partially covered by a Coolmax (tm) type T-Shirt.

Glad that he got his attention, Chambers started talking.

"I'll be short and quick with you, Sir. Things in Redbridge arn't looking great right now, as you no doubt understand. However, I've got a satalite phone in my briefcase, linking you directly to Police HQ. A deadline is approaching, and when it passes, army units are going to be deployed to restore order, which, no doubt, they'll do. That said, you've got a helipad here, and, like you, we have helicopters."

Dipping into his brief case, he put on a Northfordian Load Bearing Vest, strapping magazines and shotgun shells onto them as he carried on talking.

"Here's the Phone, Sergeant. He is expecting a call..."

With that, he handed him the phone, and assemballed the Compact Shotgun he had in the briefcase...

"Greetings Sergeant Heller." started Fredrics. "In as few words as possible, what is your exact situation, and how many people do you need?", he asked, tapping his bluetooth earpiece.

Asking such a question, was, he guaged, going to get one of two responses. He decided in his head, that they would either ask for man power, or they would ask for evacuation. Either way, however, Fredrics knew he was able to accomodate the Illiorian Embassy, so long as their requests were'nt too unreasonable, because, simply, they lacked the resources.

"Simply put sir, we're between a rock and an incoming tank shell. From what a photo analyst has told me, that picture of the IR mass that was sent originally is a mob, approximately 28,000 people coming to our corner. We're well armed and protected, but almost 250 men and two helicopters hold no chance against 100-1 odds. To make things worse, Mrs. Ambassador and her family have decided to show Illior's commitment to your government by being a stubborn bitch and refusing to evacuate.

My commander's a good guy, but he's gonna freak if I tell him the amount of persons on the way. I've also got reports coming in from the sat geeks that there's another mob, slightly larger, heading towards another embassy compound, that could bypass them and eventually hit us, as we're down the street.

To get to your question, we need a few things. The first would be to launch a couple of Cruise missiles at the mob, but I think that's out of the question. The second would be for some armor support down here, as we've got scores of heavy weapons, but nothing to frighten 30,000+ people. Several attack helis might do the trick, but who knows. If you could really grant what we need, I'd say an armor division rolling right at the mob, but again, I doubt it. The best possibility I can see working is Helidropping some northfordian units into the embassy and then try and find a way to slow them down, maybe with roadblocks but, I don't know how well that'll work." He finished.

@PROHT: The edited bit: We'll, in the embassy area, things are just about to get rough, with clashes with a could of my Counter Terrorism/SF/Riot Police guys meeting a few hundred people, the toe-end of a big crowd. As for the Northfordians under your command, it won't, since they are all abroad, and until the sunrise of the next IC day, the Military arn't being called out. In any event, they will still be under your control. When I allow the Military to Intervene, you are welcome to RP some of my peacekeepers you have, perhaps ones which are stationed at, say, a Northfordian Supply Dump, at a port.
I'm waiting for Aeson to give me a post, and, I'll reply to you Illior, in a few hours, but I have dinner now.
@PROHT: Dude, mind changing your text size to something a bit smaller for OOC comments? Thanks.

"Atleast he's thinking big....", thought Fredrics, momentarily.

"Well, I can't give you any military equipment until tomorrow morning, and that rules out most of your ideas. Ideally, yes, I'll be sending a couple of Guided Missiles down to your local, followed by an armoured division, but, simply, thats not going to happen. As for the issue of attack helicopters, well.... thats pushing it. As it stands, the best I can offer you is more manpower being helidropped, along with a dozen or so Machine Guns and perhaps a light mortar or too, unless you gentleman are prepared to...well... bend the rules:

At the moment, I've not got more than 300 Specialist Guardsmen to spare. Those specialists are, essentially, perfect for this job, but, as I'm sure you'd agree, simply not enough.

You said that you are having Illiorian Personell aiflifted to you, from the East GASN Escort Force Convoys. What I would like to propose, is, that you were to lend us some uniforms. I have enough marines, as well as heavy equipment here, on Northfordian GASN Escort Force Ships that I can effectively turn your embassy into a fortress. Legally however, I just can't release them until Martial Law is declared, unless somehow, I can have them operating under your command, or, more specifically, under the Command of the East GASN Escort Force. That sounds stupid, but it allows me, and my government to stay legal. And, boy, with all the lawsuits that will be around after this, that can only be a good thing.

So, what do you think?"

===

@ PROHT: Yes. It sounds stupid, but hey, this is, in reality the first time Northfordian Ground Forces have been deployed oversee's, en-masse, and I'm using it to my advantage.

"Open the gates," ordered Colonel Ross. "Sharpshooters, stand ready. This is the most dangerous time. I want anybody trying to come through the gates not wearing a Northfordian uniform wounded."

"Roger that," said one of the sharpshooters. The gates swung open. Ross stood in the center of the gateway holding a machine gun. "Welcome to New Aeson, boys!" He shouted at the Northfordian officers. "Come on in!" He glared at the mob, and with exaggerated motions, switched the safety off.

Grendrot had a sore chest. Not just any old sore... it was fucking killing him. He had a sore arm too... but his chest was worse. Though not damaging his rifle plate, it had completly shredded his 'blunt trauma' system, and had fractured several of his ribs.

Walking....crawling to the gate of the New Aesonic Boarder, he stumbled, calling out in pain as his broken ribs dug into the membrane seperating his lungs from the Chest cavity. Then, he saw the light.....

===

....behind him, about 400 metres some of the mob managed to break through the roadblock, by going through a small side ally. There was 300 of them, one of him and 200 metres to go until he could get inside the Aesonic Embassy. All that stood protecting him was a brave Colonel, and a Dozen elite Sharpshooters.

Tonight would test the nerve of them all....

It isn't our riot, it isn't our embassy, if they need dour help they'll ask for it, we are in enough politicaly hot water as it is without charging headfirst into things we know almost nothing about, send a group of 4 scouts from the Marine raiders to figure out what is going on and whether we should be concerned."

"All right, that is exactly the 'something' I wanted to do, I just wanted to clear it with you first"

"You haven't bothered to clear it with me before, what makes this operation so different that you need my permission?"

"Riot control agents* might be involved..."

"Oh god... I wish you hadn't told me that, those weapons they developed over the years have caused more fear than any other branch of weaponry we have."

"Exatly."

"the complex itself is already a fortress, although a manpower and supply boost is always welcome. Those Spec-ops guys you got sittin around... I might be able to scrounge up those 300 uniforms off of GEF-E(IC) marines. They might not be perfect fits, but they'll do. I'll buzz over to them, and get some helo's rollin, as we've got an hour at the current rate of speed.

If things go the way I hope, your spec ops guys will get in about 15 minutes before the mob crosses the 9 block line when we go weapons free. Get your men suited and ready to haul ass. I'll see if I can get 6 helos over to you in 25 minutes, and each can carry 50, although it won't be too comfortable. The uni's will come along with them, and do me a favor and see if you can get some attack helos to help scare and strafe, as all I've got are two helos that can mount the machine guns we have here. Lastly, expect the helos in 25, if you can muster that fast, as I know the H-J boys over on GEF-E(IC) are hopin for a good outcome.

Thanks so much for your help, but now I gotta pull the strings on my end, I'll call back in five."
He handed the phone back to Mr. Chambers, who was looking very Steven Segalish by this point and went over to Johnson.

"You still got the McGurny's Emergency Messenger system's address on file?"

"Course sarge, what you want?"

"300 Unis, and them loaded on 6 '75s"

"I'll see what I can do."

And Johnson did. He dutifully sent the message to the lead ship of the GEF-E(IC) Illiorian group, and got to the H-J commander, and quickly persuaded him to make the necessary arrangements, and it got done quickly. 6 Ships managed to scrounge 50 Uniforms each, and quickly shoved them all onto a '75 per each ship. The '75s promptly took to the air, and went speeding towards the scripted rally point. By the time they were under Northfordian ATC, and were close to landing, there was 50 minutes left.

The Asgarnian Royal Parliamentary Guard and Balkan City Royal Police personnel in the embassy were told very disheartening news minutes before. They were told that they would be sent a shipment of ammunition, supplies, and a few extra personnel, while the diplomats and ambassadors were airlifted to the A.N.S. Zonial off the coast of Northford.

The up-armored UH-60 Black Hawk took off from the roof of the 7-story facility. The pilots hoped that no RPG's would hit the helicopter as it made its hasty retreat. Thankfully, they cleared the red-zone and were on the A.N.S. Zonial shortly thereafter.

In Balkan City, the Central Command Center was innundated with phone calls from the higher-up Generals. 2-Star General Nancy Thompson was sitting at her large Asgarnian oak desk when the red phone on her neatly organized desk rang.

"Nancy? This is 4-Star General Alexander Tokrav. May I have a word with you?" Tokrav inquired.

"Yes Sir, what's the matter?" Nancy asked.

"Intelligence reports in from an unnamed central mole in Hataria state that Hataria is sending a very ordinary cargo vessel to Northford to deliver arms." Tokrav said.

"Damn. I was afraid that one of those wacko nations would do something like this, and it is not at all surprising that Hataria is doing it." Nancy blatently stated.

"I'm not surprised either." Tokrav said, "However, we don't have any time to lament Hataria's actions. We need to stop this vessel."

"Obviously," Nancy replied, "but how? There's any number of Hatarian cargo vessels in that area at any one time."

"Right, but how many are going to Northford?" Tokrav slyly asked.

"Gotcha. Let's get permission from Northford." Nancy said.

"Go ahead, but do it right." Tokrav said sternly.

Subject: Permission to search incoming ships

Greetings. A foriegn mole in Hataria has confirmed the worst. A Hatarian cargo vessel is being loaded with weapons and supplies to further the capabilities of the rioters in your country. We are asking for permission to search and seize any ships incoming from Hatria. If you don't allow us, maybe your naval force can do the searching. Asgarnieu and Northford can also work together, we are willing to do just about anything to prevent these weapons from getting into the hands of these lawless rioters. Thank you for your continious cooperation and we hope that these events will not affect further operations in Asgarnian embassies in your fine nation.

Respectfully,

Nancy T. Thompson

"So how are we supposed to get 4 raiders into the area of the embassy? It's not like we could just stick out our thumbs and get a ride from the local rioters... the only helicopters we have are transports - and very large ones at that - the UL-2000, though well suited, might not have the range necessary, and the FMX-6B wouldn't have anyplace to take off from, though it could land if need be on a dime."

"This problem seems quite peculiar, the fastest method I'd guess would be either to tow or drop a glider from a plane carrying the troops, and increse the detachment size to 11 men."

"Alright, then what would the parent craft be?"

"Anything from an FMX-6B, which could, if needed, provide a very good account of itself if engaged in hostilities, or any of our larger fixed wings"

"Alright, a single Turkey Vulture towing an assault glider equiped with 11 Raiders and a pair of Minions, seems a bit much, especially if we start lobbing RCAs into that mob..."

"You can never have enough security whenever RCAs may be involved, if RCAs are used, we might as well save ourselves the time and declare them all dead on arrival."

"So where do we procure these materials on such short notice?"

"We have a few task forces wandering around twiddling their thumbs, and the HTS Independance isn't being used, we could most likely get something together, that reminds me, the Independance still has five old V-22 Ospreys, correct?"

"Yes sir..."

"Attach them to the flight, make sure they are armed, and add another two Turkey Vultures. In the meantime, can we drop a satalite on the rioters?"

"Do you really want to? I could maybe hit within, about 100 yards or so of the intended target..."

(Hurtian military satalites are deemed 'expendable' and doctorine ranks them as less valuable than an enemy satalite destroyed [or two])

@ PROHT and others: Illior, I‘ll reply to you at some point today. BTW, what I actually meant was I'd use your uniforms to clothe regular marines, and send you around 1000, but hey, your idea'll keep the RP more interesting.

PROHT: Bear in mind that this is happening over one, maybe two IC days, so anything that requires time to travel will proabably miss the event completely. That, and if a plane suddenly appears in my airspace, I'm liable to just shoot it down. Either way it's all cool.

Asgarnieu: I'll give you a reply when I get a chance.

Yeah, my defense planners are trying to figure out how to do this within that time frame, it is getting rather difficult to figure out how the'd get a plane (even with aireal refueling) to the embassy in less than 24 hours, especially when the plane I'm using only goes at about 300 miles an hour and only has a range of a few thousand miles on econo-cruise and with all pylons fitted with extra fuel tanks, less if towing something.

I can still try dropping satalites though... but sorry, I don't have any rods of god at my disposal, just a bunch of semi-functioing stalites in need of retiring before they become space trash

It would be something like the re-entry of Skylab over Australia, only smaller, and with some degre of control

Hurtian space travel is pretty much limited to hauling stuff into space, and has yet to recover anything from orbit and re-use it, so fixing satalites is out of the qustion, and to make room for its replacement, we 'retire' them to the oceans, or military targets...

Do I have an embassy in Northford?

"Sharpshooters," said the Colonel. "You have clearance to shoot."

"Sir, they're not anywhere near the embassy."

"Shoot non-fatally. Let them know that we're serious about this."

"Sir, that could be considered an act of war!"

"And if we don't do anything, that man will die. Now open fire!"

The sharpshooters took careful aim at the legs of the mob. Then, as one, they opened fire. A few moments after the first wave, they fired again.

Taking the phone off of the Sergeant, Cambers nodded, clipping the phone back up.

"Sir," he started, "Since I've done my official duty to provide a liaison, I'm pretty much a free hand. Where abouts do you want me? As it stands, I've got my own guns, and I'm more than happy to put myself into a dangerous situation..."

Meanwhile, back in the Blue Zone, on the Redbridge ports, things were starting to happen. The uniforms had been given to the Northfordian Marines stationed on the ships in the port, as well as those Northfordian Guardsmen that were spare.

Piling onto 40 Northfordian Transport helicopters, they assembled. Ten to a helicopter, they quickly loaded up, also taking ten helicopters full of weapons and ammunition. All in all it took them 15 minutes to load up, and take off.

“Roger Two Charlie, we are in the air…. The Babies are in the pram and the daddies are standing by”

“We copy that Chief Egg. Giving daddies clearance to take off……. Now”

“OK Uncle Radio, little eggs 1,2,5 and 7 are up, Babies are in our prams, and we’re packing heat. Locking GPS onto Target, Distance, 20 miles, ETA, 4 Minutes.”

“Uncle Radio, this is Daddy one, we’ve got take off. Daddy’s got his baby clubs at the ready, and picking targets”

“Open Message to…all… airborne craft: Feel free to…. Have a good hunt, but remember you’ve only got 8 daddies today”

Approaching the Illiorian Embassy Compound, the Transport Helicopters, flanked by 8 attack helicopters proceeded to hover. Preparing for permission to land, they could see the mob in front of them, 30 000 of them in total, essentially enveloping the block that the Illiorian Compound was on. It would be a battle, a battle between brothers, a battle that would see Northford Change forever.

@People: Sorry this is so short, but I had a fairly busy evening tonight. I’ll carry it on from here, tomorrow, Illior, and give you ample opportunity to get stuck in tomorrow… Everyone else, humble appologies.
