Royal Navy to use new classification system

Amongst heavy debate, the Board of Admirals, with the First Sea Lord's approval, have begun to phase in the new classification system for the Royal Navy. One of the more hotly debated subjects was the removing of nuclear on the classification scheme, which was kept eventually for cases such as submarines where there were two types of vessels, for the same purpose, but with different propulsion, or for conventional/nuclear battleship doctrine.
