In the past decade, The Reich has recently undergone a massive nuclear-modernization program. The program, which produced dozens of new designs, including satellite-launched ICBMs and more modern tactical nuclear devices, has been an incredible success.

The Tocrowkian Nuclear arsenal now consists of over 100,000 modern weapons. How ever, that leaves the relatively large matter of the 20,00 older Cold War-era Nuclear Devices the Reich built before the modernization program.

The arsenal, which was considered old and dangerous, was dubbed too costly to be disposed of in any reasonable manner. So, in response, they opted to due so the old-fashioned way: Blowing them all up, at the same time!

On a private, abandoned series military bases on small islands in the South Pacific, The Tocrowkian Military loaded all 20,00 of of it's old weapons, which consisted of huge gravity bombs, small tactical weapons, and older ICBM warheads, and retreated thousands of miles away.

And on 1:40 PM, the Reich detonated all of the weapons simultaneously. The resulting explosion was utterly massive, most likely the largest in history, with an estimated yield of over 1,200 megatons. The island string, and several others along with it, which may or may not have been inhabited. The explosion is estimated to have reached as high as the upper stratosphere, and the Earthquake that resulted from the massive nuclear explosion is estimated to be over 10.0 on the Richter scale. Tsunamis have resulted in the vicinity, but as of yet, no casualties have been reported. The explosion is also estimated to have been so powerful, it was visible from the surface of the moon, though this is unconfirmed.

The Tocrowkian Government has made no official statement as of yet.

A disaster of epic proportions was about to strike the Commonalitarianism cities. It was a normal sunny day, the wind was blowing about 5 mph on the Pacific in midsummer.

For the most part the waters were calm. Some nuclear submarines patrolled the oceans. There were a few special submarines as well which patrolled the depths. They were massive and ready to counterstrike.

In the Pacific the floating cities were quietly accepting tourists, attending to trade and watching their borders. Nothing at all was expected.

There had been some indication that a country called Tocrowkia had been planning another nuclear test on a deserted island. But nothing like this was expected.

Many of the cities were utterly swamped by massive tsunamis cracking and destroying their ocean going domes and ripping apart the flotation devices. The towers fell on the cities and people died screaming drowned or in flames. Walls of water tossed ships like matchsticks tearing them to bits. Some of the transport subs managed to get into deeper waters.

On many of the orbital platforms the tethers snapped releasing to earth spreading orbital debris across the oceans. Many of the people on the new orbital platforms were blinded by the massive nuclear explosions. Their systems went off line from the electromagnetic pulse and many died before they could restart the computers and life support systems. A few orbital defense platforms were in place.

Most of the underwater city in the Mariana trench was destroyed. A few building miraculously survived. The main deep sea secret military base survived because it was hardened against nuclear attack.

A few of the smaller domes had been floating in the Atlantic out of the range of the main nuclear explosion, but over half of the Commonalitarianism had been destroyed in a single unexpected and unprecedented blow. The orbital platforms and a few of the asteroid mining stations were all that was left of the main Commonalitarianism.

The skies darkened. Fueled with rage the order for a counterstrike was given.
