Still No Peace (MT, Open, ATTN Ackistan and Transylvania)
These events begin occuring a few days after the peace-keeping forces are deployed. Anyone is free to enter as their own nation and support whichever cause they wish, however I've been invaded once already and I'd rather not be invaded again.
N1 Special Report
"Good evening, and welcome to the ten o'clock news on N1, the primary network for Naasha and Surdun."
"Our lead story tonight, rioting in Samka! Around two hours ago, swarms of people crowded onto the main streets in the port city of Samka. Protestors waved banners and signs, they chanted anti-imperialist slogans and threw chunks of masonry at the Naashan police who attempted to calm them down."
"We cross live now to our corespondent on the scene:"
"Good evening, as you can see from the images behind me, the demonstrations are still in full swing. You can see both citizens and uniformed figures in the crowds, we believe these soldiers to be members of Naasha's 4th Conscript Battalion, who learned yesterday that they weren't to be disbanded, despite the end of hostilities with Clandonia."
"Smaller scale demonstrations have been held across the country, as conscript forces were told that they would be continuing to serve for at least another six months."
"Now, earlier this evening we saw police trying to break up the demonstration, but they appear to have withdrawn. Sources tell us that at least one officer has suffered a severe head injury from projectiles hurled by the crowd. The police have since withdrawn, although you may be able to hear the helicopters circling overhead, keeping an eye on things down here. It's pretty tense, the demonstrators appear to be still going strong, and with the police withdrawal, we can only wonder what the crowd might do next."
"We'll keep you updated as things occur, back to the studio."
"Yes, things looking quite severe in Samka at the moment, if you are in the city presently then the government is advising to find shelter and stay inside, they are promising a quick solution to the problem, although we don't as yet know what they intend."
"Our next story: Refugees on the return from Sunya, but the Empress and senior government figures remain overseas..."
N1 Bullet-In
"A new development on the situation in Samka, it appears that the army has been called in to restore order, over to our correspondent who'll give you all the details:"
"Well, you can see from the pictures behind me what's going on here. Those black uniformed soldiers are members of the Naashan 1st Infantry. They arrived just ten minutes ago in the armoured APCs you can see to my right and have started to push the crowd back along the street."
"You can see the ambulance trying to fight it's way through the demonstrators, we're aware that at least two citizens have been injured while trying to resist the soldiers, although the nature of their injuries is unknown at the moment."
"And wait... it appears ladies and gentlemen... that the infantry have opened fire, yes, they are firing into the ground about ten feet in front of the protestors. And scenes of panic are ensuing here as those in the front ranks of the demonstrators are trying to move backwards while the rest are trying to press forward."
"And well! You don't need me to describe what happened there. Younger viewers might want to switch off now, it appears that a demonstrator has been shot in the chest. Well, you can probably here the crowd's anger, but they look to be seething about that."
"I don't think any of us can quite believe what's happening here, the crowd are charging the soldiers! I can see... four rioters down, they've been shot by the infantry, but the crowd has reached them now. And well-"
"I'm sorry, but we've just been ordered to stop broadcasting that, but I can tell you that at least ten rioters have been badly injured, and that the riots are continuing, they're attacking the soldiers."
"We'll bring you more as we get it. Goodnight"
[[OOC: I still have a naval group in the area, so I'll probably deploy an Imperial Guard unit to do stuff. Also, I will be posting on the cease fire in the other threads, but I haven't been able to find time. Just thought I'd say that now.]]

Aboard the various ships in the Ackistani fleet, soldiers and commanders alike somberly watched the news. The chaos and the continued presence of the Cravan navy meant conditions would be worse than expected. As they received one bit of bad news after another, they quietly wondered to themselves whether they were up for the task. Tomorrow they would find out.

The last few days, reports came in on the situations in Naasha as the Dominionite peacekeepers were preparing their vehicles to be loaded in the cargo planes. The Dominion, having never been a peacekeeper force before, was going to use only a thousand soldiers. The numbers would be 25% from the 7th Dragon Slayers and the rest from the 14th Mason's Wolves.
The peacekeepers would be armed with two magazines of rubber rounds, which have yellow tape on the bottom, and two magazines of lethal rounds, which have blue tape on the bottom. They would each carry chemical mace, a taser, and tear gas grenades. Three things that were strange for a Dominionite soldier, to act as a police and not a fighter.
The peacekeepers would be using these vehicles: M1026A1 HMMWVs with a tear gas launcher mounted on them, M1038A1 HMMWVs, M997A1 HMMWVs, M1035A1 HMMWVs and BMW R65GS motorcycles. All vehicles painted black with the Dominion flag on it, but each would carry a blue flag with the letters ‘P’ and ‘K’ on it. And the helicopters were being load onto Dominion Navy carriers to be transport into the area. The helicopters were AH-6J Little Bird attack helicopters, OH-58D Kiowa Warrior scout helicopters, UH-60 Black Hawk transport helicopters, and Mi-35 Hind E assault transport helicopters. The carriers had the army pilots of the 14th Mason's Wolves, too.
Major Marina Fox would be in command of these Dominionite peace keepers, she was a young twenty-five year old red-head that is a member of the 7th Dragon Slayers. She is the woman for the job, the men will follow her orders without thinking twice. And she was a image of a goddess, too. A pro for a lonely soldier to picture her naked.
The young Major looked over her soldiers and the loading crews as they move vehicles into cargo planes, which are waiting on an airbase in Germany. Soon, the C-13 JackRabbit supersonic cargo aircrafts would be entering the air with the peacekeepers and their vehicles. And the carriers would be done an hour later.

As the last Clandonian forces were leaving, the breaking news made the commander smile. They had done the job, regime change in the little speck of dirt for a country, as the riots unfolded on screens around the world watching as the smoke rose from above Samka the last remaing vessels of the Clandonian fleet departed.
Unknown to most, a single Typhoon attack submarine had unloaded a large supply of weapons to aid rebel groups, contacted by various shadey underground networks an undisclosed amount of cash was paid into bank accounts. The war was over for Clandonia, they hoped the situation would brew over forcing about regime change of the current Naashian administration.
N1 News
"Good morning, and welcome to the N1 nine o'clock news."
"Our lead stories this morning; riots continue in Samka, at least three feared dead in clashes with Surdunni police and a new antidote to the SPLA? But first we cross live to our correspondent in Samka:"
"Thanks, and good morning. We're here in downtown Samka to bring you the latest updates from the scene. Things look quiet here this morning, after a troubling night for city residents. Large gangs of rioters took control of the streets during the hours of darkness, causing damage to people and property alike as they rebelled against the martial law that seems to have been imposed here."
"The protestors are still on the streets, as you can see through the window behind me, but things are looking a lot calmer now, the army has established a cordon around the edge of the city and the people are simply waiting for something to happen."
"I can confirm that five civilians were seriously injured during the night, and one soldier of the 1st Infantry is in hospital after a stabbing, he is said to be critical but stable."
"That's about it from here, back to the studio."
"Yes, troubling times indeed in Samka, but the civil violence is not just occuring there, sources in Surdun are telling us today of similar riots occuring in the cities of Fyrr and Arkam. The people appear to be trying to shake off the vast and corrupt government that was so recently re-imposed by a treaty that many Surdunnis feel has not helped them at all."
"Most disturbing of all were two seperate instances where Surdunni police, directly employed by the widely viewed as corrupt government, shot at protesting civilians. We believe that both events occurred in Arkam in the north of the country, and left three Surdunnis dead, and another in hospital."
"The protests appear to have been organised by a group calling itself UNNS, the United Nations of Naasha and Surdun. The extremist group calls for unification of the two nations and has received widespread support amongst the populace of both following the defeat of Naasha by foreign invaders."
"The by now well known SPLA, Surdunni People's Liberation Front, has vowed to defeat it's rival, despite it's decimation by the Naashan army and it's large loss of support amongst the Surdunni population."
"Our final piece tonight, senior Naashan government figures have elected to stay in refuge across the world this morning, including both the Prime and Jade Empress. An official statement from the Prime explained their decision as being 'in the best interest for Naasha', although analysts are saying that the current administration is worried by the events unfolding here and are staying in refuge for their own safety. Naashan officials both in and out of the country refused to comment on this."

Aboard the transport Agamemnon, Sgt. Steffen Leowitz had just finished putting on his Kevlar vest, and was lacing up his combat boots. In a few short hours, he expected to be among the first Ackistani soldiers to set foot in Surdun. He looked around. Dozens of men were making similar preparations. They seemed confident, almost eager to see some action. Steffen wondered to himself how many of these men, his friends, would be making the return trip home once this operation was over.
Steffen looked over his gear. For this assignment, they had been issued quite a bit of gear, which they weren’t accustomed to carrying. The extra weight wasn’t particularly welcome, but nevertheless, he wanted to make sure he had remembered it all. Between the rubber bullets, chemical mace, taser, and tear gas; he felt more like a police officer than a soldier.
Confident his gear was in good order, he reached into his footlocker to grab a few personal belongings. Although he didn’t smoke, he crammed his lucky zippo into his pocket. Finally, he took out a picture of his wife and two daughters, which had been taken the previous Easter. It was among his favorite photos. In it, they were all dressed up in their Sunday best, and his youngest daughter had a shit eating grin accompanied by chocolate covered hands and face.
A few minutes later, the ship’s PA system ordered him to the ship’s briefing room along with 20 other personnel.

OOC: Just so you know... In one of our previous war threads, I described the precautions my carrier groups take. This includes using helicopters to drag sonar buoys around the perimeter of my fleet to search for submarines. Granted this is a big area, but your submarine may be detected if it sticks around.

OOC: Its just part of the leaving group, thats all I doubt your carrrier group would be able to tell the difference with so much naval activity.
Protests were appearing all over the two countries now, the subject no longer seemed to be an issue, these were the voices of two unhappy nations, clamouring for change.
While the main demonstrations in Samka were still going on, protesting the forced and continued conscriptions, other groups were staging similar rallies and marches across Naasha.
The UNNS held a large rally in Keyremar, which drew a crowd of around five thousand for the best part of a day before being dispersed by police using water cannons.
Pro-democracy protests were underway in the northern city of Reyvver, these had almost every last resident of the city out on the streets waving banners and chanting 'power to the people' and 'down with the Empress!'
In Surdun, UNNS members out on publicity campaigns were attacked by the SPLA, brawls erupted in Jaevre and Arkam, the two focal points of UNNS support. The police were quick to intervene, but often took the side of the SPLA agressors, leaving around ten UNNS supporters injured and arresting two more.
Most worrying of all though, were the rumours of revolution, of UNNS extremists, somehow supplied with large quantities of arms all preparing to cast off their governments and open the borders between the north and south.
Whispers in taverns spoke of mysterious foreigners, not the peacekeepers, but others, supplying the revolutionaries and other even shadier groups.

'Sir the package made it ashore, our contacts have wired the funds to the government bank I'm sure we will cut a cutting of the cash for our dangerous mission.'
'Excellent, lets leave the area the place is filled with sonar activity from the Ackistani fleet.'
The Typhoon class submarine slipped away to the depths heading towards the naval base in Scandinavia where they would remain as part of the re-deployment of some sections of the fleet to spread it around the world incase of a situation like this arrising again.
OOC: Basically the people are rioting for many different causes. A brief explanation of the different groups involved is to follow, anyone can aid/support any of them, including militarily if it is covert.
The UNNS is the United Nations of Naasha and Surdun, they are basically a peaceful organisation who believe that the two nations should be unified, as they were long ago in the past. They organise passive rallies and such, but have a growing extremist/militant wing.
The SPLA are the reason Naasha invaded Surdun in an earlier thread (see my sig). These guys are basically terrorists, who despise Naasha and are totally against any unification, hence the name: Surdunni Peoples Liberation Front. They engage in terrorist activities against Naasha, and have recently begun attacking the UNNS too.
The NAC, Naashans against Conscription, is a passive group, mainly made up of the unwilling conscripts in the Naashan army. They hold peaceful protests and gather petitions to try and persuade the government to discharge them.
There is growing support for a communist party, the UPRNS, United Peoples Republics of Naasha and Surdun. These people will use any methods to convert the two nations to communism, including terrorism and kidnap. They have cells mainly in the north of Naasha and their numbers are limited, but the formidable organisation and dedication of the group makes them dangerous.
There is a large pro-democracy feeling amongst the citizens of both nations, notable groups are the Anti-Imperialist Militia in Naasha and the Democratic Unionists, who have followings across the two nations.

Why does everyone always portrait the Communists as terrorists?
Why not Christian Terrorists? Or Protestants? Or the Pope?
Or Yanks?
Or Russians?
Or French?
Or <add here>?
OOC: Because Naasha is essentially an atheist nation which doesn't have too many foreigners around. At the moment nearly every man and his dog could start their own 'revolutionary' group, but with the historical mistreatment of workers in Naasha, communism is a logical choice for some of them to support.

While the Ackistani fleet was blissfully unaware of Clandonia Prime's departing submarine, they were painfully aware of Cravan's naval presence. Frankly, it pissed them off. That fleet should be long gone by now, and Ackistan's military leadership was not at all happy to see them stay. Having the Ackistani fleet leave after dropping off their small peacekeeping force didn't seem like such a good idea with Cravan's forces nearby.
After consulting with the Ackistani government, Admiral Robert Ramsey radioed the Cravan surface fleet with the following message:
"Your continued presence here is a violation of the Surdun/Naasha/Cravan/Clandonia Prime peace accord. You are hindering our peacekeeping efforts. We request you leave the vicinity immediately."
As this message was broadcast, a lone Predator UAV took off from the deck of the Vindicator. Soon, it would be flying over the Cravan fleet to watch their response.
Meanwhile, back in Ackistan, a modified Boeing 747 was taking off from Rickenbacker Air Force Base.

"Good evening, then ten o'clock news tonight on N1:"
"A violent explosion ripped through Arkam earlier today, as a car parked adjaecent to the city's main police station detonated. Sources believe that the vehicle was packed with plastic explosives and set off remotely, although the explosion was so intense that substantial evidence cannot be gathered."
"We do know that the explosion killed three civilians, and wounded ten more. The police casualties number at least thirteen dead and thirty more wounded. Several extremist UNNS members have claimed responsibility for the attack, which main UNNS leaders say they do not condone."
"Regardless, both the SPLA and Surdunni government have labelled the group as criminal and against the interests of Surdun. Despite this, support for the pro-unification group is still on the rise."

As the Ackistani navy awaited a response from the Cravan naval group, the AT-1 dispatched from Rickenbacker Air Force base eventually arrived after making a refueling stop along the way.
The AT-1 was for all practical purposes a Boeing 747, whose passenger compartment had been gutted & replaced with a television and AM radio transmitter.
Upon the AT-1's arrival, two F-14 Tomcats took off from the deck of the Vindicator to provide it with escort. Soon, it would be flying in a figure eight pattern over Surdun and Naasha (starting with Surdun) while broadcasting the following message:
"Greetings to the people of Surdun and Naasha from the Republic of Ackistan!
As you are well aware, our nation has a fleet off your nation's coasts. This fleet was invited here to deliver a peacekeeping force as described in the peace accord, which ended the war in your respective nations.
We are not here to interfere with your government. We are not here to prevent or encourage the possible merger of your two nations. Our only purpose in this region is to prevent further loss of life.
While monitoring your news, it has become apparent to us that many of you are clamoring for change. While your various goals may differ, we are not here to endorse or oppose any of them. Our only wish is that any such changes be made peacefully if they are to occur at all.
We propose a national referendum to decide the matter of reunification followed soon after by national elections. All opinions may be voiced, and the outcome determined by popular opinion. If need be, the international community can send representatives to ensure your votes are counted fairly. Whether you choose to unify, remain separate, become capitalist nations, become communist nations, etc; we will support your decisions. We are only here to help you achieve what you want for yourselves.
Later today or possibly tomorrow, our peacekeepers will set foot in your nations for the first time. Their purpose is to patrol your borders to deter individuals or groups from crossing the border to cause mischief. Should your nations choose to unify, we will leave. Should both your nations request us to leave, we will do so. We are not here to confront you. We merely wish to give the recent peace accord the opportunity to succeed.
God bless Ackistan, Surdun, and Naasha."
"They're going to do what?!"
Other cries, and certain less dignified comments followed Thomas Lenrov's. But as the regional leader of the UNNS in Surdun, he received the full and instant attention of his comrades when he stood up to speak.
"The fools have no idea what they are doing! They don't think our government is just going to step down and hand Surdun to the people do they? They are closing the borders to us!"
Gregor Radinar, the operational director of the UNNS, and probably the unofficial second in command didn't even bother to rise as he corrected him.
"They're closing the borders to mischeivous groups, as of tomorrow, it'll be too dark to deploy tonight."
A look of irritation flashed across Lenrov's face.
"Do you think they are going to see us as perfectly harmless? We're smuggling weapons over the border to our comrades in Naasha! And it isn't like either of our governments are going to step back and be unified without our intervention."
The director frowned, but answered calmly.
"True, they don't appear to have considered that. Even so, we have enough small arms in Naasha now, with that shipment from the 'benefactor'. Our main concern must be getting explosives into the north, and coordinating our efforts with them."
But the UNNS top-dog wasn't going to be reassured that easily.
"So? Do you have a plan then? And remember that we have the SPLA to worry about too."
Radinar thought for a moment.
"We have... about 200lbs of plastic explosives in the depot in Arkam, and more in Jaevre. We'll get all we can across the border tonight, then we'll withdraw and mine it as we go. We can have operatives scour the mountains and see if they've missed any of the passes tomorrow."
Lenrov breathed deeply, 200lbs wasn't going to cover all of the operations that they had planned in Naasha.
"Well, do it! We'll step up the propaganda campiagns in both countries tomorrow, have our ground operatives in Naasha arrange another demonstration. Oh, and Gregor? You're to stay in Naasha and coordinate our efforts from there."
The operational director caught his commander's nasty grin and sighed.
"Yes sir, we'll use the satellite phones until we can find a more secure method of communication."

Official Message from the Dominion
Our peacekeeper will not be needed at the border. They would be in the way of harm and the soldiers should not be in the way of anything in a role that they don't know. We know nothing about the two nations, Naasha and Surdun. Our peacekeepers will be in the way.
The riots and other thing having in both nations makes me feel sick. The people should not have to do any of that.
My peacekeeper will be heading towards a Commonwealth state without the non-lethal weapons and the flag of peacekeepers. They will be needed to fight rebels in that Commonwealth state.
I wish all the best of luck to the peacekeepers of Ackistan. And to the people of both nations.
Signed,
Count JWolf
The God-Emperor of the Dominion
The Lord Marshal of the Dominion Commonwealth.
OOC: Sorry, guys, I couldn't think of a good post for this thread and can’t think of way I want soldiers at the border. Like I said my soldiers are not peacekeeper, so what was I thinking? Have fun!
"Well, the Dominionites are out, which means the way should be clear. Keep it quiet and move out."
Radinar himself led the squad of twenty insurgents through the mountains. They had scoured the passes for an hour before finding one where the border guards had already withdrawn but Ackistan hadn't deployed to yet.
"What's that up ahead? Hold up men, keep quiet and heads down!"
Blocking their way through a narrow bottleneck was what appeared to be an abandoned pickup truck.
"Corporal, head up there and check it out."
They waited with bated breath as the defected Naashan conscript crept his way along the valley floor. He reached the pickup after what seemed like an eternity and turned around to give his comrades a thumbs up.
A single shot cracked across the valley and he fell to the floor, missing the back of his head.
"Get down! Return fire!"
Masked men were clambering over the truck now, firing at the insurgents as they took cover in the heavy snow. The squad returned fire and for a few minutes nothing else could be heard above the sounds of battle.
Things weren't going great for the UNNS, they'd lost another man and were pinned down. One man kept his head though, and fumbled in his pack, lighting the fuse on one of the 'bomb kits' they were carrying and flinging it at the ambushers.
The small explosion rocked the pickup truck, whose fuel tank detonated in sympathy. No more shots were fired as the insurgents advanced carefully.
Gregor prodded one of the corpses with his toe.
"SPLA."
No more elaboration was needed, and they carried on down the pass, mining the route as they did.
N1 News
"Good morning, yet more grim news today as a carbomb went off outside a Naashan border control post. UNNS has once again claimed responsibility for the attack which killed three Naashan soldiers."
"Ackistani peacekeepers are expected to deploy on the border today, and their presence is welcomed by the Naashan government, who blame the recent disturbances on terrorists entering the country from the south."
"Further demonstrations are expected today in Samka, the Worker's Party of Naasha has announced it will be holding it's own rallies in Keyremar and Rosaa. Government officials have vowed to contain the unrest by all means and have issued a statement saying that 'the extremist views expressed by these rioters are not reflected in the majority of the populace'."

The morning had been lost as the Ackistani government debated how to handle the latest developments in the region. Dispatching the AT-1 had been a risky decision. The Naashan government was in exile, and were in no position to object, but that was not the case in Surdun. In the end, Ackistan's government adopted the position that they were there to support the Surdun and Naashan people not prop up their respective governments. If these nations wanted to change their government, that was fine. If they wanted to maintain the status quo, that was just as good. All the Ackistanis really desired was an end to the instability and conflict. Hopefully, their message would be received as it was intended.
Around one in the afternoon, the order to deploy was finally given. The ships' PA systems came to life barking out orders to various units, and men were buzzing about the decks performing all manner of jobs.
Over the next two hours, the following occur:
- The AT-1 begins its return flight home after broadcasting its message.
- The Predator UAV currently flying over the border conducts surveillance of the three main mountain passes.
- Additional Predator UAV's are launched from the deck of the Vindicator, so that one can be assigned to survey each major mountain pass.
- Numerous Tidal Wave class LCAC’s begin transporting men and equipment to shore. They are divided into two groups. One group heads towards the Surdun side of the border at the base of the dividing mountain range, the other similarly deploys to the Naasha side. Each group consists of 3 Vextra 105's, 3 Stykers, 6 Humvees, 9 military cargo trucks, and full complement of men to match the deployed vehicles. Once they are assembled on shore, they begin to make their way towards the major mountain passes.
- 5 Comanche and 5 Blackhawk helicopters are being made ready for deployment.
From hidden positions on both sides of the border UNNS operatives observed the Ackistani deployments. They had mined several smaller passes, but the large ones hadn't been logistically possible to do in one night.
The relatively small size of the peacekeeping force on the border was noticed, they would be stretched to watch all of the passes, especially at night.
Meanwhile, other operatives in Samka had once again whipped up the crowd into a frenzy, the plan was to drive the government troops from the city which would either force the foreigners to intervene or destablise the region, either was good for them.
***********************************************************
They struck in daylight, relying on their menacing jet black uniforms and sheer numbers to part the crowd. Naashan Empress Guards forced their way through the demonstrators in the city in a desperate attempt to capture key insurgent figures.
But they ran into heavy fire from UNNS terrorists in the docklands, and were halted and pinned about two hundred metres from their objective, a large mostly intact apartment complex that had been adopted as the Unionist HQ in the city.
Pinned down and trapped between the UNNS and increasingly aggressive crowds of demonstrators, the EG were in serious trouble.

Unknown to the outside world, Clandonia had been supporting the UNNS with weaponry and monetary aid. Unknown to many in the military a secret black op's mission had been inserted as the forces left, 10 members of the Clandonian SAS instructed to teach the UNNS techniques in fighting the Naashan military. Armed with superior Clandonian new age weaponry they would proove their worth in any battle.
A two many sniper team was in the docks, seeing the UNNS team firing at the Naashans made them pleased, they were using Clandonian GMPG's, they just hoped they UNNS would win.
The UNNS were using GPMG's (sp?) and fighting like lions, albeit well trained ones. Their superior numbers and well chosen positions were beginning to tell as the Empress' Guards took casualties left and right.
Making matters worse, a crowd of demonstrators had closed in behind the Imperialist troops, trapping them.
"Raven One requesting mission abort, be advised, we are pinned and need extraction."
Naashan NA-4 combat transport helicopters, along with NA-3 attack craft flew over the city, snipers doing their best to suppress the insurgents while they advanced.
A problem arose however, it became clear that there wasn't a large enough space for the NA-4's to land. The troops on the ground fired shots over the crowd, trying to force them back to clear some room, but the mass of people pushed forward regardless.
An NA-3 swooped in low over the crowd, the crew shouting for the people to move, but noone seemed to be paying attention to them. That was, until an RPG flew from somewhere in the rear of the demonstrators, striking the helicopter's tail and causing it to spin wildly.
Two more NA-3's buzzed along the street, emptying their cannons into the mass of people in terrible retribution, even as the first helicopter slammed to the ground.
The carnage was appalling, but it had gained them the space they needed for the larger NA-4 helicopters to land and pick up the stranded Empress Guards, who boarded while NA-3's suppressed the UNNS.
Even as the helicopters sped away, the fury from the citizens seemed to permeate the air, their rage alone trying to turn back the helicopters containing their oppressors.
Fortunately, the UNNS had more practical uses for the people's anger...

Transmission to Clandonian benefactors:
Greetings, we find ourselves again in need of large amounts of small arms and ammunition.
We have the populace of Samka in a state of outright revolt now, and wish to supply the waves of new recruits with weapons to topple their oppressive masters.
We require cheap, easy to handle weaponry, sidearms and rifles would be preferable. The weapons you have supplied us so far have proved to be more than satisfactory, we trust you can repeat the quality again.

As Ackistan's ground forces made their way towards strategic mountain passes, Sgt. Steffen Leowitz was still with the fleet, but not for much longer. For the last half hour, he and his men had watched as Blackhawk and Comanche helicopters took off from the deck of the Agamemnon and her sister ship, the Hector.
Now it was their turn. Sgt. Leowitz crouched as he made his way towards the Blackhawk. Between the shifting ship and the powerful winds generated by the helicopter, he nearly lost his footing as he boarded. Soon after, Steffen and the ten men under his command were flying over the sea to whatever awaited them...
OOC: The 10 helicopters (5 Blackhawks & 5 Comanches) will be patrolling the various mountain passes. The helicopters will be working in pairs. A Comanche will scout ahead with a Blackhawk in tow. If they find anything suspicious, the Blackhawk drops off the troops nearby to investigate while the copters provide air support.

**FLASH** ENCRYPTED COMMAND
Greetings UNNS forces, you are friends among Clandonians. We have arranged using contacts to drop supplies in via a routine fly over of a C-17 Globemaster dropping weapon pallets, we have secured to drop in 2000 AK-47's, 400 Dragonov SVD Sniper rifles, 600 RPG-7 Launchers, 400 SA-7 Anti-Aircraft weapons and 3000 S-54 Fragmentation Grendades. AWACS flying over the 2nd Carrier Strike Group detected the Globemaster from hundreds of miles away. With so little air traffic traveling to Surdun and Naasha these days, the Globemaster stuck out like a sore thumb. Aboard the Vindicator, the approaching aircraft was brought to Admiral Pemberton's attention.
Petty Officer McFarland: Sir, we have detected an unidentified aircraft approaching Surdunese territory.
Admiral Pemberton: And?
Petty Officer McFarland: The plane is not listed among the humanitarian flights we are coordinating. Judging by its course, it isn't even going to the airport. Also, sir, the aircraft is flying at a very low altitude, which suggests it is attempting to evade ground based radar.
Admiral Pemberton: Interesting. Contact this aircraft to out what it is doing here, and launch two alert fighters to investigate. Oh, and see if we can get in contact with someone with air traffic control in Surdun to see what we can find out.
Petty Officer McFarland: Right away, sir.
Admiral Pemberton: McFarland?
Petty Officer McFarland: Yes, sir?
Admiral Pemberton: Who are the alert fighters on duty right now?
Petty Officer McFarland: "Ghost" and "Spaz", sir.
Admiral Pemberton: Very good. Keep me informed.
A few minutes later, two F-14 Tomcats took off from the Vindicator while a communications officer radioed the unidentified aircraft. "Ackistani fleet to unidentified aircraft: Please state your business and destination. Be advised two fighters from our fleet have been dispatched to investigate your presence", they said.
OOC: CP, I know I didn't post anything about AWACS flying over my fleet in this thread, but I did mention that as a standard precaution in our last war thread. Depending on what direction you are coming from, you may still be able to deliver your cargo before interception. If you are coming from the west or south, I would probably get to you first. Coming from the north or east, I would probably be too late, but you would also need to fly over some third party nation's air space.

'Shit, we are being tracked!'
'Sir, we are only around 40 miles away from leaving Naashan airspace, I suggest we climb higher and increase the speed.'
'So be it, by the look of the charts we could slip over Dartian airspace before refueling over a friendly nation.'
As the order was given the C-17 now a little lighter for the load climbed higher, counter measures were prepared and the distress request was issued to the nearest Clandonian fighter patrol, somewhere over the North Sea, a good 2 hours away....
UNNS operatives rushed out into the field to claim the drops from the Clandonian SAS.
Unknown to them though, a Naashan coastal vessel, loyalist, had spotted the plane too, even now a patrol was racing to intercept the suspected drops.

After notifying the Dartian government, Capt. Larry "Ghost" Peete and Lt. Phillip "Spaz" Wolfe were authorized to pursue the unidentified aircraft into Dartian airspace. Traveling around mach 1.7, the two Tomcats would soon overtake the much slower transport. Soon, the lone globemaster would be within range of their weapons. Again, they tried to contact this mysterious plane.
"Unidentified aircraft, you are in violation of Dartian airspace. Maintain your current course, speed, and altitude. Our fighters will arrive shortly to escort you to Edison Air Force base in Dartia. Please respond."
Capt. Peete's voice sounded a little shaky as he relayed his message. While he had received countless hours of practice flying for the Ackistani navy, this was the first time he'd ever been in a situation, where he might have to shoot down a real aircraft.
OOC: I sent a telegram to Dartia to make him/her aware of this thread. They may wish to do something.
OOC: Four SAS against a three vehicle patrol?
The lead Humvee cleared the ridge, the driver's eyes glued firmly to the road ahead while his gunner, manning a wicked looking 50. calibre, surveyed the dark landscape around them.
The second vehicle in the patrol, a small troop truck rumbled along about ten metres back, while another Humvee guarded the rear.
Radios crackled in all of the vehicles as they attempted to calculate their position relative to the suspected drop zone.

While Ackistani Predator UAV's and helicopters patrolled the Surdun/Naasha border looking for signs of trouble, Ackistan's two ground convoys were approaching their first destination. They were three miles away from the first major mountain pass in their path. They came to a stop. Men got out of their vehicles to stretch, and a few wandered off to take a leak. Meanwhile, the captains in charge of each of the convoys radioed back to base to indicate their position. Four of the helicopters and one of the predators were dispatched to the pass to confirm the target area was clear of hostiles. Once confirmation had been received, the two ground convoys would move into place.

OOC: Well they are genetically modified 2 metre super soldiers so why not.
'Contacts of three, 2 Hummers and a truck.'
'Shit, ok everyone got their grenades and LAW's ready?'
The soldiers crept low, loading a 40 mm HE round into their AG-36 Grenade Launchers, the gunner loaded his GPMG as the only sniper with them got his M95 out with some blue tipped rounds, High explosive composition 12.
The motto was 'who dares wins', and they certinally hoped it would occur in the battle about to ensue.
Around the rioting city of Samka, more permanent solutions were being considered to the problem. It had been decided that sending more soldiers and police would be fruitless, Naasha didn't have the manpower.
So instead, the very same artillery that had only a few days ago been firing at Cravan shipping was being deployed on the city outskirts.
"Warbler One, all pieces deployed, standing by."
Maybe this would send a clearer message to the UNNS.
OOC: Ackistan, no hostiles as yet, but your guys are going to see some serious trouble in a day or so. One of the smaller passes is mined, others are clear and the larger ones have border control stations that have been turned over to you by both nations.
The lead gunner was nervous. He was exposed on top of a moving vehicle, the headlights of the truck lit him up from behind and made it hard for him to see anything in the shifting darkness.
The convoy slowed gradually as they approached the target area. The patrol leader's voice echoed in the gunner's helmet.
"Units, approaching station area, slow down and prepare for a sweep, we'll start with the road then deploy the dog unit to sweep the fields. Gunners stay alert for hostiles."
The sense of being exposed came back double as the convoy slowed to almost a crawl, the anxious gunner swivelled back and forth, peering into the gloom for a target.
There! A slight rustle, barely audible over the rumbling of the engines. He hesistated briefly, then decided it was better to shoot and explain a dead squirrel than not shoot and explain to his squadmates in the afterlife how he'd seen the enemy and let them be.
Swivelling in the turret he squeezed the 50. cal's trigger.

'Shit we are being shot at!', screamed the squadie into his comms headset.
At once the 4 man team began firing, rockets, grenades, high explosive rounds at the convoy going for direct head shots. The teams tactic was to move around with firepower, giving the impresion that there was more of them, an age old tactic.
The gunner in the Humvee went down almost instantly, a round through his brain. The convoy lurched to a halt and all hell broke loose as the Naashan soldiers scrambled clear from the truck in the centre of the patrol.
They returned fire, using the vehicles for cover, the gunner in the last vehicle had a clear view of the fighting and was the only Naashan who was really making his shots count.
In the lead Humvee the patrol commander grabbed his radio and garbled
"Viktor Two under heavy fire, we're surrounded!"
He didn't get a chance to say much more however as a lucky shot caught the vehicles fuel tank, causing an explosion that flipped it up into the air.

'Target the vehicles,' spoke the section leader as he unloaded a clip of his G36K in the direction of a humvee. At that time the person with the last LAW fired it at the Humvee, they would make sure there were no survivors.
The second humvee was down as well now, the LAW had penetrated the poorly armoured vehicle with ease and transformed it into little more than a smouldering shell.
The remaining soldiers had fanned out and were returning shots, the bright fires from both humvees meant that they could see their opponents now.
A lucky shot from the SAS had ruptured both dog cages in the bottom of the truck, adding two fierce German Shepards to their worries.

'Agreed, just let me set up the package.'
The package was a small scale thermobarical back pack warhead designed to obliterate around 400 metres of ground.
The team set the countdown and then left a few AK-47's to entice the stupid Naashans to the deadly trap.
The dogs raced off after the withdrawing soldiers, their handlers struggling along after them while the remaining men slumped to the ground exhausted.
Field Headquarters in Naash received a transmission from a very relieved sounding soldier, telling them the enemy had fled. But no more responses could be raised on any of the channels after that.

They would re-group, it had been a close but lucky escape and they were tired and running low on ammo heading back to their hide away in the woods....
They had succesfully complete the resupply of the UNNS.
Some curious aircraft was wandering into Dartia's air space. The Ackistanis seemed to have bees in their bonnet about the little incident. If this vessel was doing something naughty or carrying some precious cargo, Dartia wanted to know.
Not wanting to be outdone by the Ackistanis, four Raptors took off from Dartia's two largest air force bases. Their orders were to haul ass towards the plane in question, and find out exactly what the hell was going on.

OOC: Alright. The two convoys will split up into smaller groups that guard the entrances to the three major mountain passes. The passes are guarded on both the Surdun and Naasha side, so there are six groups total. Once they are in place; they will pitch tents, fill sandbags to create fortified machinegun emplacements, install early warning tripwires around the perimeter (which shoot flares upwards), plant some claymores, and try to clear an area for helicopters to land.

"Warbler One standing by, artillery is deployed, over."
Marshall Ferren wasn't a policeman, he was a soldier. Right now he was a soldier with a city to be retaken at all costs, and in his eyes, the rebellious populace were merely UNNS terrorists. He couldn't understand why High Command hadn't given the order to open fire, they could crush these untrained, ill-equipped peasants in no time.
Sighing, he turned back to his television, and found the answer he'd been looking for. The politicians were doing their bit. He hated politicians, all talk and no action, but since his commander's commanders got their orders from them, this nonsense had to be tolerated.
"...and so, in retribution for their unprovoked attacks on civilian and military targets alike, for their blatant disregard for the security of the nation and for their misleading of the common people; we, the Glorious Empire of Naasha do declare war on the organisation known as the UNNS."
The field radio buzzed, and Ferren scrambled to pick it up.
"Warbler One standing by."
"Warbler One, this is High Command, begin preparations to fire, spotters are being deployed as we speak."
"Roger that, ready for coordinates."
Grinning and rubbing his hands together, the artillery commander shouted for his gun captains and leant over the map.

The by-now all too familiar buzz of the NA-3 jolted them back out of whatever reverie they had descended into, anxious faces turned upward, searching the sky for a target.
The buzz of the blades stayed somewhere above them for a few minutes before passing on, and the rioters returned to their beds.

"Hawkeye Two here, target is demonstrator's camp, coords are 412, 737. Be advised, narrow streets and possibility of building collapses, target is approx. 6 kilometres from you."
The artillery squealed in protest as the gun crews keyed in the new trajectories, other crewmen were already feeding the first shells into the weapons, high explosive conventional warheads for now, though they had plenty of choice if things got difficult.
"High Command, Warbler One, we have first coordinates, request permission to fire."

The up link of the video was broadcast on CNN, the government was in deep shock the Naashan forces had proberly killed thousands of unarmed civlians by striking a refugee camp. To the world
Today, our satellites observed an attack by Naashan military on a civilian refugee camp on the outskirts of Samka. This dispicable attack has warranted the fact that Clandonian bombers are now preparing to leave if the Naashan forces do not issue an explanation of this barbaric attack we will commence military operations regardless of the peace deal. We ask the world that they must not stand around while civllians are killed, if the Naashan forces do not stop their brutal campaign Clandonia will send troops in to restore order and disarm the paramilitary groups.
OOC: The government is effectively being run by the military, as they are the only officials who didn't leave the country. Clandonia, please don't bomb/invade again, let me run with this, I know where it's going.
Official Naashan Response
Once again Clandonian satellites are sadly mistaken. Naashan artillery struck targets of importance to the terrorist group the UNNS, including groups of terrorists camped inside the city of Samka. We coordinated our efforts in order to ensure that no civilians were harmed.
Naasha will continue to attack UNNS targets as and when it identifies them, because of the danger posed to the country by that group.

"Look! The fact is that we don't have enough support in Surdun to try anything on that scale! Our best course of action is to speed up these revolutions in Naasha, once a new government is in place there then Surdun will be prepared to unify."
Lenrov took a moment to calm himself then glared around the room, waiting for someone to defy him. Nobody did.
"Anyway, with only Radinar's cell still at operating capacity in Naasha we're going to have a problem. We've got far too many men and supplies here, and not enough support, and far too much support in Naasha and not enough men and equipment."
"So, what do you suggest sir?"
"Well, Ackistan has the border closed now, so just walking in is out of the question. But, I think we have a solution to that. I received a communication yesterday from the commanders of the Naashan 2nd Infantry and 3rd Mechanized Divisions, the ones who fought the most in the occupation. They say that if we launch an attack on the border, and on into Naasha then they will defect to our cause, as well as most of the populace."
A short spell of silence followed, as they took in the information. The 2nd and 3rd were Naasha's most experienced soldiers, and their aid meant that the Naashan military threat could be neutralized quickly.
"Alright, begin the preparations, ready the men and establish camps about 30 kilometres south of the border. The police won't bother us while we scout for an open pass. If there aren't any then we're just going to have to risk the Ackistani guns."

The bombers had just been a threat, in reality the only escalation were the levels of steadily increasing numbers of transport flights re-routing over Naashan airspace before turning sharply heading back over the continent to the Scandinavian island airbase.
Bringing in supplies of weapons and ammo as well as resupplying the Clandonian SAS who were still under deniable operations luckily escaping an engagement with a Naashan patrol, tasked with giving the UNNS weaponry to rebel against the Naashan military with the Clandonian aim of complete regime change that was interupted by the international community. At that airfield those weeks ago they had nearly killed the Empress, they were prepared to even drop tactical nukes to kill her, but the medaling nations of the world had rushed into help the murderous Naashan government flee.

Ackistan's citizens were appalled by the artillery strikes against the Naashan protesters. Clearly, their peace keeping force was in for a lot more than they bargained for.
Several secret meetings were taking place in the Ackistani capital to determine the next course of action. Some lawmakers pointed to the numerous treaty violations, and felt the violations justified the withdrawal of the peace keeping force. Other lawmakers favored air strikes against Naashan artillery combined with an increased peace keeping force. In a few hours, the decision would be made.
OOC: CP, did your first cargo plane surrender or what? AWACS can detect low-flying aircraft in a 250 mile radius, and aircraft flying at normal altitudes in a 400+ mile radius. General Douglas Marsh shook the man's hand briefly and led him quickly toward the command tent. At a little over six foot and sporting enormous shoulders and forearms, the man towered over Gregor Radinar, and looked more like a foot soldier than a general. A grave look was set on his usually hearty red face.
"Tomorrow you say? Well, it can be done of course, I just didn't expect you UNNS fellows to be this serious and all."
Radinar faced him calmly, he'd just been through this ritual once with the 3rd Mechanized Division and knew what to expect.
"I hope, comrade, that you are not getting cold feet? We are talking revolution here, a just and righteous cause. You and your men will be heroes!"
A faint smile crossed the general's face.
"Well, heroes sounds good indeed. Do you think we'll run into much resistance? Naashan shooting Naashan sounds like very bad sport."
The UNNS director breathed out slowly.
"There will be casualties on the road to liberation, but we expect your well experienced and popular troops to overcome anything the Imperialists can throw at you. We can expect more soldiers to join our cause once they see we have a victory, it is up to you to give us one!"
Marsh looked suitably impressed.
"Very well errr... comrade. What do you want my boys to do?"
"Tomorrow we are going to cross the border into Naasha, we think we'll be able to break through a weaker point in the Ackistani lines, it's up to you to secure a beach head for us on the other side and make sure the Imperials can't counterattack our men before they are through. We're sending the 3rd Mechanised to Samka to rally the remaining populace there, and then we'll be in a position to strike the oppressors on two fronts."
"A good plan! We'll do our best for you, we have some some helicopters still attached to the division if you need air support during the operation."

In true Clandonian style, being sneakery and treachory satellites had tracked Ackistani positions and had some how made it to the hands of Clandonian SAS units, who then gave them to UNNS forces who they hoped when they won the war would favour Clandonia, perhaps allowing a strategical base or two so they could place some nice missiles to aim at the Ackistanis....
In preparation for the next day's operations, each UNNS cell had now gone 'quiet.' This meant that no more information would be passed between them until the operation began.
Radio frequencies and satellite phones that were used during the planning stages were discarded, to be replaced by new codes and frequencies that would lie dormant until the operation began, this was intended to prevent interception of important transmissions once the operation began.
Operation Overthrow was due to begin at 1100 hours tomorrow.
Reports from the scouts in the mountains had revealed that Ackistan had occupied the three main passes, and that the others that had been earmarked for use had all snowed up in the past few days. This meant a bitter head on assault on the Ackistani positions on the western pass was in prospect.

After several hours of closed-door deliberations, Ackistan's senate made several important decisions regarding the peace keeping effort in Naasha and Surdun.
Conclusions reached:
1. Clandonia Prime, Cravan, and Naasha are all guilty of treaty violations. Ackistan no longer recognizes the terms of the peace treaty.
2. The peace keeping forces along the border are ineffective. Zero people have been stopped from crossing the border, and Naasha is in chaos. With the treaty nullified, Ackistan no longer feels obligated to provide peace keepers. Ground forces will be withdrawn as soon as possible.
3. Financial aid to Naasha will stop immediately. Once the situation in that country stabilizes, aid will resume.
4. As a parting gift to the Naashan people, air strikes are authorized against Naashan artillery guilty of targeting civilians. Ackistan's fleet will remain in the region until needed elsewhere in case further strikes are justified.
As the orders flowed down the chain of command, Ackistani peace keepers began to make preparations to head back to their ships. Their withdrawal would be orderly. The ground units furthest from the fleet would move out first, and join up with closer units as they reached them. Overhead, Ackistan's helicopters and UAV's abandoned their patrols in favor of providing air support for withdrawing ground troops.
As the troops began to make their exit, aircraft aboard the Vindicator were taking flight. 2 F-15E's and 2 F-16's were on their way to Naasha to target various artillery pieces. Meanwhile, 2 Harriers took to the air to provide additional air support for withdrawing ground forces in case any sort of counterattack was attempted.
At Rickenbacker Air Force Base in Ackistan, AT-1 was being prepped for flight. Soon it would be delivering a new message.

They seem far more concerned with maintaining power, which in our opinion they do not deserve.
The writing is on the wall. Soon the Naashan government will fall, and will be replaced by something better. We urge Naashan military personel everywhere to accept this change. Go home, and protect your families until this crisis is over. Why risk your life to defend a government that oppresses you?
Also, we wish to relay to you a public statement made by the Clandonia Prime government:
"Official Clandonian Response
Clandonia asks why the Ackistani government's views have changed about Clandonia, we have done nothing to violate the peace treaty. It was in fact your renegade forces that violated it, recently our spy satellites seem to be being blinded after spotting an increased buildup of military hardware. If you even think about an invasion of Naasha we will declare war on you.
Naasha is Clandonias toy, leave it well alone."
We urge the people of Naasha to reject any overtures by the Clandonian government. Not only did their nation mercilessly destroy your capital, but they have the gaul to admit they think of you as playthings. Your nation is better than that. You are not toys. You are people. You deserve peace and a government of your own choosing. Furthermore, we wish to express the fact Clandonia Prime's suspicions are wrong. We have no intention of invading Naasha or Surdun. Our military buildup in Dartia is the result of a military threat made against our friends there.
Best wishes,
Angelina Whittaker

1240 Hours - A Hercules transport drops pamphlets on the Naashan 5th conscripts, which carries the aforementioned message. In a show of strength, the transport is escorted by 6 F-14's and 6 F-16's.
OOC: CP, the plane I am talking about is the one that dropped weapons to Naasha (the one Dartia and I tried to intercept). There are three posts in this thread describing the interception effort. I know you understand exactly what I am talking about because you replied to one of those posts.

All transport aircraft were told to ignore potential hostile efforts to communicate, if even a single Clandonian aircraft got a scratch there would be hell to pay. The Ackistani broadcast of secret diplomatic communication was the final straw, the Clandonian propoganda wing went into over drive.
Meeting with UNNS forces the Clandonian SAS forces told of the Ackistani lies, showing them the pictures of troop movements in Dartia. There were also conspiracys of Ackistani forces were not peace but were preparing to pave the way for an invasion.
In the meantime, a prepartion force for a possible emergency deployment of the 16th Air Assault Brigade.
Southern Naasha
Fighting between the (UNNS) 2nd Infantry and (Imperialist) 5th Conscript Divisions was brought to a halt. UNNS reinforcements, particularly armoured vehicles, pushed the Imperial troops back toward Naash. At around 1400 hours they surrendered to the UNNS following what is believed to be Ackistani propaganda.
The 2nd Infantry pressed eastwards toward Naash, the strongpoint of Imperialist support, but found the entrance roads well defended by local forces. A stalemate is currently in progress.
***********************************************************
Samka
Elements of the (UNNS) 3rd Mechanised were forced to withdraw by determined resistance from the (Imperialist) 1st Infantry. The 1st Infantry are believed to be the most loyal to the current regime and are considerably well trained and equipped.
In the city centre, UNNS operatives rallied crowds of disgruntled citizens and organised a march eastwards from the city. The idea was to overwhelm the 1st Infantry, who wouldn't shoot their own people.
**********************************************************
Reyvver
Mass riots and civil unrest, coupled with poor working conditions and mistreatment of workers in the northern industrial city of Reyvver finally came to a head. Supported by defected conscripts of the 4th Conscript Division, communist cells in the city declared a revolution and formed the Naashan Worker's Party. It is unclear whether the Worker's Party will cooperate with the UNNS who are advancing in the south and west.
**********************************************************
Sandya
Rioting occurs in the capital but is quashed by a strong and immediate reaction from the Empress Guard. Martial Law is declared and the city itself remains calm. Many minor protests are being held around the suburbs.
**********************************************************
South West Naasha
Vogrost, Forstvir and Morgur are all placed under martial law, relative calm follows as conscript units keep order. The pleas of the locals, as well as the UNNS are not affecting these soldiers who were recruited in the north of the country and bear little sympathy for their garrison cities.

Ackistani government officials monitored the events as they unfolded. They were please. Their propaganda campaign appeared to be producing results. Encouraged, preparations were being made for additional leaflet drops. Conscript forces in Vogrost, Forstvir, and Morgur would be next.
Of course, the decision hadn't been made lightly. The conscripts in those cities were keeping the peace, but in the end government officials conceded regime change would be required if there was to be a lasting peace. With that goal in mind, the UNNS faction seemed to be the best faction to back. Still, the UNNS would have to fight their own battles. Ackistan's government was not ready to commit to the war effort beyond propaganda and using air strikes to prevent civilians from being massacred.
All transport aircraft were told to ignore potential hostile efforts to communicate, if even a single Clandonian aircraft got a scratch there would be hell to pay.
Once the four Raptors were in place....
"Clandonian transport, you are violating Dartian airspace. You are ordered to change course and prepare to land at Divine Air Force Base. Please respond."
No response...
"I repeat. You are violating Dartian airspace, and you are completely outmatched. We are authorized to use force against you. Change course and prepare to land at Divine Air Force Base. Please respond."
No response...
Warning shots are fired across the nose of the transport.

This transport was willfully trying to evade the Dartian fighters. That was for sure. The decision was made to open fire. Letting this trespasser go would make Dartia look spineless and weak. Weak nations get trampled by the strong.
The lead Raptor and his wingman turned to give chase. Once they had a shot, they would open fire with their guns in small bursts. With any luck, the Globemaster's crew would surrender once they started to take hits.

N1 Broadcast Tower, outskirts of Sandya.
They came out of nowhere seemingly, but all of a sudden they were everywhere. Hulking men in camouflage outfits and balaclavas sporting AK-47's and pistols. The two perimiter guards, Naashan soldiers, were despatched in a volley of automatic weapons fire.
The remainder of the security staff, being a private firm and more used to dealing with teenage vandals than hardened insurgents surrendered quickly. In around two minutes the entire site had been secured.
The presenters were escorted from the studio, although a children's cartoon show was in progress so the cameras didn't capture the fierce blows from the attackers. They allowed the program to run while they waited for the next part of the operation to begin.
*********************************************************
The blades of the NA-3 clattered through the otherwise silent skies over the capital, the passengers relying on the Imperial markings on the craft to mislead any would-be ambushers.
The pilot carefully brought the small helicopter to rest in front of the N1 broadcast tower, and even as the skids kissed the pavement the chopper's passengers leapt to the street and ran for the shelter of the perimiter fence.
They were saluted through the gate, which was raised by the AK-47 wielding insurgents, and escorted into the tower. The studio was abuzz with activity as the new arrivals carefully positioned the cameras and sound equipment to focus on a small podium, behind which was draped the flags of Naasha and Surdun, both mangled and ripped.
Removing his mask, Thomas Lenrov, the commander of the UNNS, took up position behind the podium and eyeballed the cameras, flanked by two insurgents, both gripping assault rifles.
*********************************************************
People of Naasha!
I come to deliver you the call, the call to cast off your Imperial masters and take back your country for yourselves! The time is no longer here when you can sit back and let these heartless, callous parasites live off your hard work and oppress your children. The time has come to take a stand, to unite and stand against them, to cast off the shackles of oppression!
And behold, you are not alone! We, the UNNS are already fighting on your behalf, pushing back the cowardly government troops. You have watched the nations of the world unite against your government, who oppress you, the people. And now the time is ripe for change, the current regime is weak from strife, we must act now to topple them and bring about a better life for us all.
The time is ripe to act now, both of our peoples, Naashan and Surdunni have been oppressed by cruel governments who do not care for the people. It is the time to overthrow them and establish a true democracy, to unite our nations and peoples for the betterment of all!
We, the UNNS alone, do this. Listen not to the thoughtless words of the Worker's Parties, or any other organisation, for then you would be merely swapping one oppressor for another.
No, support our cause and we will free you all from the grasp of tyranny, reunite our nations and establish a fair, democratic government. The time is now! Your government is weak, cast off the chains of oppression and become free citizens again!
Even as the NA-3 took off from the broadcast tower, returning the UNNS insurgents to their own lines, murmurs of revolt were beginning across Naasha.
In Forstvir a crowd of youths threw bricks at the police HQ and had to be driven off with a water cannon. In Keyremar, formerly an Imperial strongpoint, the people were out in the streets, waving UNNS banners and chanting their support.
In Vogrost, the southern port city, a thirteen year old boy strode ahead of a column of protestors, waving a Naashan flag, which was burning slowly.
***********************************************************
"He's in my sights, little bastard."
The marksman crouched on top of the nearby police building, his spotter huddled down beside him.
"Calm down! It's only a kid."
The sniper relaxed slightly, but remained focused on the image in the scope of his rifle. Ahead of him, the boy caught sight of them and raised his hand in an offensive gesture. Slowly, very deliberately, he lowered the burning flag to the ground and, crouching with his back to the crowd, began to urinate on it.
"That's it, he'll pay for that!"
The marksman's finger tightened on the trigger slowly. His spotter dived at him, trying to prevent him from shooting.
"It's a kid, don't shoot!"
The sudden movement jerked the barrel upwards a fraction, and the rifle discharged. Time seemed to slow as the bullet whizzed through the air, striking the youth low on the back of his head.
*********************************************************
Vogrost descended into turmoil for the better part of the day, but as night fell the result was clear. Vogrost had become the third city in Naasha to cast off the Imperial rule, and soon, the second city to fall into UNNS hands.
OOC: Just to clarify the situation, I've re-read my posts and it is somewhat unclear.
A dossier on the current state of affairs in Naasha/Surdun, the desk of an intelligence agency, somewhere.
A state of civil war currently exists in Naasha, the current, largely unpopular Imperialist regime is under attack from various revolutionary forces.
The main revolutionary element is the UNNS, who aim to unite Naasha and Surdun and establish a fair government to rule them both jointly. They have by far the most power in the region, and enjoy support from a large amount of the populace.
A secondary element is the Naashan Worker's party, who wish to establish a communist administration in Naasha. They enjoy support in the northern and eastern industrial cities, where they target the workers with promises of equality and fair treatment.
The situation on the ground is as follows:
Surdun is still under the control of it's largely corrupt and unpopular government, but a lack of police and military mean that the current administration lacks the means to defend it's power.
A pocket of southern Naasha is under the control of the UNNS, who attacked from Surdun and won victories over the 5th Conscript division. The Naashan 2nd Infantry Division, a well experienced and equipped Naashan unit, defected to the UNNS cause and is currently assisting them in their advance on Naash, the key to Imperialist control in the region.
The port city of Samka, in north west Naasha is under UNNS control after the populace forced out Imperial troops. The Naashan 3rd Mechanised Division defected to the UNNS cause, but is currently fighting the Imperialist controlled 1st Infantry Division near the city.
The port of Vogrost, on the western coast is in a state of revolt after government troops shot a thirteen year old boy. It is expected that the city will come under UNNS control if they can stage a large enough presence there.
The industrial city of Reyvver in the north also underwent uprisings, at the end of which government troops were forced out and the Naashan Worker's Party took control of the city.
The industrial cities of Rosaa and Keyremar in the east of the country are both still under government control, although support is growing for the Naashan Worker's Party.
The western agricultural cities of Morgur and Forstvir are under fragile government control, although the populace widely support the UNNS.
The capital is under government control, although order is only maintained in the city centre, thanks to the ruthless efforts of the Empress Guard.

Ackistan monitored the UNNS television broadcast with great interest. Thomas Lenrov's message was eloquent and persuasive. A man like Mr. Lenrov could very well be the next leader of Surdun and Naasha if he survived the civil war. It was decided the Ackistani government should try to contact this man.
Captain Henson of the AAF was assigned the task of locating and making contact with Thomas Lenrov. A few months earlier, Henson's F-22 had been crippled while taking part in an assault on a Clandonian fleet. Ever since, he had been serving as Ackistan's liaison officer to Naasha and Surdun.
This certainly wasn't the sort of assignment Henson was accustomed to receiving. Clandestine operations weren't exactly his cup of tea. Still, he was a fighter jock. If nothing else, his training instilled in him a great sense of confidence. He would find a way to get the job done.
Henson's first order of business was to ditch his military uniform in favor of local garments. Next, he would make his way towards the nearest UNNS rally to to try to establish contact with local UNNS leaders. He hoped he would be received well, and eventually work his way up the UNNS chain of command.
Captain Henson had been largely forgotten in the Naashan withdrawal from Surdun. So much actually, that he had been left in a hotel in Surdun for the past few days while the government dealt with bigger issues.
With the intense fighting and increased garrisons, crossing the border would be near impossible, but fortunately the more peaceful members of the UNNS were still holding regular rallies in the northern city of Arkam to show their support for their comrades in Naasha.
It was at one of these where his slightly odd, almost too normal clothing coupled with his foreign looks brought him to the attention of the rally host.
***********************************************************
The sudden appearance of the man probably startled the pilot. One moment he was weaving aimlessly through the crowd and the next he was faced by a small, dark skinned and grinning man who bounced eagerly on his heels.
"Good afternoon comrade! A lovely day isn't it? You are the pilot yes? The Ackistani? I am comrade Zurokov, I organise the rally here."
Obviously struggling with his english, the native's eagerness was overbearing and his wide, white grin lit up his dark features.
"You want for some coffee? A cigarette? My house is across the street there, follow me and we can talk, yes?"
He hovered, almost puppylike with nervous energy, waiting the man's answer.

"A pleasure to meet you, comrade. Yes, I am Captain Henson of the Ackistani Air Force. I've traveled here to meet you. I could definitely go for a cup of coffee and a bit of privacy."
He led Henson across the narrow street to a small, slightly decayed looking house, with a wide porch upon which sat two suspiciously rotted looking deck chairs and a wooden table.
Taking the chair nearest to the door, Zurokov eagerly fiddled with a startlingly new looking coffee machine on the table until, to his obvious delight, it began to work.
"Ah, excellent! Now, what brings you to my humble rally comrade?"
Ackistan

"My government asked me to seek out the leader of your movement to learn more about UNNS's plans for a unified Surdun and Naasha. From the outside, the UNNS appears to be an organization worthy of our support. Before we throw our weigh behind your movement, we would like a few assurances from your leader.“
"Ahhh comrade, you put big work on me. Our leaders are away in the north, fighting the Imperialist pigs."
The dimunitive man grinned again.
"But, I like you comrade, and your country does big things. You will wait here? I will make a phone call."
Without waiting for an answer, Zurokov darted inside, snatching up an expensive looking satellite phone.
Ackistan
27-10-2006, 00:23
"I understand. If you can arrange a meeting, transportation won't be a problem. I am curious. Is this really your house?" he asked with a grin.
"Alright comrade, I'll speak to him. Run the encryption program and then call this number again."
"Yes comrade leader, of course!"
Zurokov fumbled with the phone, eventually steadying his quivering hands enough to key in the latest in a series of encryption codes.
While not foolproof, these codes take even an intelligence agency computer about five minutes to crack, the idea is that each party receives a sheet listing the codes, and change to the next on the sheet after each call. Hence the only way the calls can be deciphered is if they can be traced and recorded, which is difficult thanks to the encryption fooling key-word systems, or if the code sheet is copied by a hostile intelligence operation.
Hearing the man's questions from the porch, he called back:
"It is my house yes! Some of this ...stuff is UNNS though. You are lucky man, comrade Lenrov speaks to you now."
He bounded back out of the door and dropped back into the damp chair, re-entering the number on the phone before holding it out to the pilot.
The phone buzzed and Lenrov picked it up.
"Good afternoon comrade! You are the Ackistani pilot I believe? Excellent."
"Now, what can I do for you?"
Ackistan
27-10-2006, 00:51
"Yes, Mr. Lenrov, I am Captain Henson of the Ackistani Air Force. Our government was impressed by your television broadcast. I've been ordered to meet with you if you are willing to receive me."
"Of course, that will be possible, although my leaving Naasha is out of the question, so you'll have to find your way into the country. Shall I have my comrades arrange transport for you?"
Ackistan
27-10-2006, 00:57
"If your comrades are able to provide transport, that would be ideal. Otherwise, our government can transport me by helicopter. We would prefer to not draw too much attention to my presence."
"I will arrange for you to be flown across the border on one of the Imperial helicopters we captured. Then they won't shoot you down eh? You'll land about thirty kilometres southwest of Naash. Tell Zurokov, he'll make the preparations."
Ackistan
27-10-2006, 01:10
"Very well. I look forward to meeting you. I believe you will be happy to hear the message I bring"
They had given him priority, that much was evident. In just under two hours, Captain Henderson was aboard an NA-3 and crossing the border, free from Imperial interference.
***********************************************************
Thomas Lenrov waited patiently as the helicopter circled the camp for the umpteenth time, before finally coming to rest in a wide section of cleared grass. He walked briskly and confidently to meet the Ackistani as he disembarked, extending a wiry but firm hand for the man to shake.
Ackistan
27-10-2006, 07:27
Crossing the border was easier than expected. Captain Henson was impressed by the resourcefulness of the UNNS. Surely, obtaining a helicopter and crossing the border uncontested had been no small task.
Having seen the UNNS leader on television, he recognized Lenroz the moment he laid eyes on him. He approached the leader slowly and shook the man's hand. He was careful to leave his hands in plain sight as he did not wish to alarm Mr. Lenroz's bodyguards.
Thomas Lenrov smiled slightly as Captain Henderson shook his hand, it was obvious the man had done a little research. Waving to his guards to stand down, the UNNS leader led Henderson towards an arrangement of rugs in front of an expensive looking tent.
The slightly garish tents and soft rugs looked a little comical spread out on the green Naashan grass.
"It is the way of the desert," he explained "and although it looks a little silly here, I find it comfortable."
Seating himself cross legged on a large cushion, Lenrov signalled to an attendant who brought them a pot of coffee. From an expensive looking case, Lenrov removed two cigars and offered one to the Ackistani.
"Luxurious eh? I know what you must be thinking, but these are my possesions, not the UNNS. I was a wealthy man, when such things counted in Surdun."
He settled back onto his cushion and waved to what appeared to be another UNNS officer, although from the chiselled features, it was clear this one was a Naashan. The northerner muttered into Lenrov's ear for a full minute, while the Surdunni nodded and grunted in acknowledgement. Finally, he turned back to his guest and introduced the man.
"This is my associate, comrade Gregor Radinar, he is the operations director for the UNNS and has flown from Samka to meet with us. And he bears good news!"
Radinar awkwardly tried to perch onto the cushions, but failed and ended up simply kneeling on the exotic looking rugs. His precise and clear cut speech contrasted with the accented and excitable Surdunni's.
"A pleasure to meet you, Ackistani. I've heard good things about your country. Now, the news is this; the city of Vogrost, that's a major port in the east, has gone into revolt. We think the Imperialists shot a young boy, but the point is that we can capitalize on the situation. The people hate the government, with just a small force we could secure the city and strike another blow for unity!"
Lenrov flashed with annoyance and gave a pointed nod toward Henderson.
"Yes comrade, but we'll discuss that later, we wouldn't want to bore our guest now would we? Now, Captain, I'm sure you haven't come simply to enjoy my hospitality?"
Ackistan
27-10-2006, 20:17
Captain Henson was relieved to hear Lenrov was a rich man. If Ackistan had their way, Surdun & Naasha would emerge from this conflict as a unified democratic capitalist nation. Rich men were rarely communists, so Henson was pleased to see Lenrov enjoyed the finer things in life. Hopefully, he didn't enjoy them too much.
"Mr. Lenrov, I thank you for your hospitality, but as you have said that is not why I am here. My government was impressed by your recent television address. That stunt took planning, boldness, and cunning. Your speech was eloquent, and it affirmed to us that your organization and our nation share many of the same ideals.
My government wishes to greatly increase our support of the UNNS, but we have a few questions before we do.
They want to know if desire to lead Surdun and Naasha after unification. They want to know what sort of government the UNNS wishes to support. Also, they wish to learn your views of Clandonia Prime."
"Ahh your government is wise indeed, and farsighted, for our cause will prosper, that I am sure of."
Lenrov shifted slightly on his cushion.
"Now, ideally we would oversee the two nations for a period after the unification, perhaps a year, in order to set up a fair democratic government. After that we would hold free elections for government, including Imperialist and Communist parties if they would participate, although we do not expect either to take much ground with the people."
"As for Clandonia, well, they have supplied us with many weapons, and much intelligence, and their actions against Naasha provided the opportunity for our cause to advance. That said, we believe the foreign devils to be rash and prone to reacting with overwhelming force. Many of our members believe the infidels wish to control us once unification is established, this cannot happen."
"To that end, any aid you might give us against the Clandonians and their vast infidel armies would gain you much popularity with the people, it would also benefit us, the UNNS, as we would be seen to have found a shield against them."
Ackistan
27-10-2006, 21:15
Captain Henson appeared satisfied with the answers he received.
"If we were to increase our support of the UNNS, what sort of help would you find desirable at this point?"
"Regarding the Clandonians, it is safe to say you can rely on us to assist you should they try to exert control over you. My government is bitterly opposed to allowing them to establish any sort of foothold in the region. Many of our allies and neighbors support that position as well. Far more than the Clandonians could ever hope to fight."
"Well, you could be of much help to us in the final stages of the liberation of Naasha, and in the second phase of the operation."
"Militarily, we possess large numbers of ground troops, but our air support is limited to captured helicopters. It would be useful to us if Ackistan could continue it's air strikes on Imperial positions, and cooperate with our intelligence as you do so. Also, if Ackistan wishes, we could use your aircraft for close air support missions too, as it is only a matter of time before the Imperialists regroup and begin using their airpower."
"Money at the moment is not an issue, however I think we will have to review that after a provisional government is formed."
"It would be a great political boost for us if you were to release a press statement in support of our cause. We could also use your facilities to broadcast more of our own messages to the people, another attack on a broadcast facility within Naasha is out of the question now, obviously."
"That's all I can think of for now, but there may be more, we are in need of much aid."
Ackistan
27-10-2006, 21:54
"Of course I must speak with my government before agreeing to provide you with those things, but I suspect they will grant most if not all your requests. May I borrow your satellite phone to contact them?"
Lenrov signalled an attendant, who fetched a satellite phone and handed it to Henderson.
"Of course comrade, we will give you a moment's privacy to speak with your government."

Captain Henson walked a hundred yards away after asking to be excused for a bit of privacy. For nearly twenty minutes he spoke with some unknown government official in Ackistan. When he finally hung up, he returned to his host with a wide grin on his face.
"Good news, Mr. Lenrov! My government has agreed to your requests.
Our airborne transmitter will be made available for your use. We only possess one AT-1, but it is being redeployed to our air force base in Dartia. Most days it should be able to broadcast up to 18 hours. My government will keep you advised of its maintenance schedule so you may know in advance if you will be without it for any extended period of time. However, this privilege will be lost if we find your broadcasts objectionable.
My government is also willing to assist your ground forces by providing air strikes and close air support. They are not quite prepared to give the UNNS free reign to call in air strikes whenever you choose. They want to dispatch a number of forward air controllers to join your men on the ground. Considering the delicacy of the situation, my government is very adamant that our own people verify the military nature of all targets before any air strikes are ordered. We are prepared to support your ground troops with planes and helicopters from our carrier group as well as AC 130 Spectres from our base in Dartia."

Unaware of the negotiations being held to the south, the UNNS command in Samka decides to strike at the rioting city of Vogrost, further south along the coast.
Vogrost
Black clouds of smoke lazily rise from the city as hastily repainted NA-3 and NA-4 helicopters hover overhead, watching it's inhabitants. The people are out in the streets in mobs, although none seem to have a clear purpose any more. A sea of upturned faces greets them, and one or two overzealous protestors fire shots at the aircraft.
"Sparrow One to base, situation is calm. Mobs in the streets but no violence observed. No apparent garrison forces. Advise operation continues as planned."
*********************************************************
Vogrost, City Docks
The small flotilla of motor powered yachts and speedboats raced in to dock, the UNNS soldiers inside had their weapons poised, but no shots greeted them. An entirely UNNS force had been chosen for this operation, as defected soldiers would probably enrage the populace as much as Imperial ones, but this didn't mean they weren't going to do this properly.
Advancing at a slow run, they cleared the immediate dock areas and began to fan outwards into the city. Encountering no hostile contact, they pressed onwards, receiving warm greetings from the settlement's residents as they went.
Finally, after about an hour's sweep through the city, the NA-4 helicopters landed in the city's broad parkland and unloaded additional soldiers, along with the soon to be leaders of the UNNS's second liberated city.
Greeted with nothing more deadly than cheers and rose petals, the liberators paraded through the streets to the city hall, where the leader gave a short speech.
Vogrost was under UNNS control.
"We understand the risks involved. We can have four teams on the ground in under two hours. By this time tomorrow, we could have ten teams in place.
I believe your enemies will find the Spectre gun ships particularly intimidating. I wouldn't be surprised if you start to see loyalists surrendering in great numbers once they come into play.
Lastly, my government has changed my orders. If you will allow it, I am to remain with you as our liaison officer to the UNNS."
"This is perfectly acceptable to us, your presence with us would be welcomed. May I suggest that you alert your government to the two UNNS controlled ports on the east coast, they may land the forward air controllers there. We will provide them with necessary intelligence and an operational area."

OOC: I am trying to determine if the UNNS has sufficient support that it would be reasonable for Ackistan to recognize their leadership of Naasha/Surdun.
OOC: Oooooh ummm... territorially they are still quite small, but they enjoy almost complete popularity with the people. The problem at the moment is training and equipping troops, as they have the potential to make great gains if they can field enough soldiers.

Ackistan's government was pleased they had been received so well by the UNNS leadership. Most lawmakers wanted to recognize the UNNS as the legitimate leaders of a unified Naasha/Surdun, but the State Department warned that it was premature. Their movement was still meeting too much resistance.
Orders were passed down the chain of command for the forward air controller teams to move into place as quickly as possible.
N1 News Studio
"Good evening and welcome to the evening news on N1, the prime network for both Naasha and Surdun."
"Our top stories tonight; the UNNS launches an all out attack on Naasha, civil unrest across the two nations and foreign interference, could Clandonia have had troops on our soil since the withdrawal?"
"First though, the big push. UNNS soldiers were spotted crossing the border from Surdun yesterday, but just how far have they got into the country? We cross now to our correspondent who has more on the situation."
Naash
A bleak grey cityscape in the background, Naashan soldiers are visible.
"Thank you, I'm here in Naash with the 3rd Infantry Division, who have spent the day preparing for a UNNS attack on the city. I can confirm that UNNS forces crossed the border sometime yesterday morning and have advanced north since then."
"The 5th Conscript Division was deployed on a key road to halt their advance, but defence officials have just confirmed that the Division has surrendered to the UNNS and what appears to be a force of defected Naashan soldiers. We believe these men to be of the 2nd Infantry Division, a battle hardened unit that served in the Surdun campaign."
"Now, earlier today we saw aerial skirmishes between Imperialist aircraft and UNNS helicopters, which resulted in the destruction of two UNNS NA-3's. Despite the air activity over the city, we've yet to see any signs of a UNNS attack."
"In fact, sources report that the UNNS, along with the 2nd Infantry have in fact moved north-east, presumably toward Morgur and Forstvir. The city of Vogrost was captured by the UNNS today, and it is expected that the other two cities in the region will fall beneath a two-pronged assault from the north-east and south-west."
"That's all I have for you at the moment, so back to the studio."

A advisor knocked on the door to the room witch the prime minister was currently in
Advisor: Sir, we have had reports of un-needed killing of many people including civialns in Naasha, it apears their protesting against something, we havent found out what but we are trying. Also we have had protest's here demanding that we send help to the people being un-needly killed
PM: Ok, what sort of force do we have ready to help?
Advisor: We have the 51st and 52nd infentry about one day away who were on a training exercise in the area. And we have a small fleet of navy vessels manily made up of destroyers and air craft carriers.
PM: Ok, we should moninter the situation as it may sort it self out, get me the commander of the forces that we can use
Advisor: Ok let me go get the secure phone
The advisor walks out of the room and down the corridor to an office and picks up a bulkey phone and takes it to the PM
The phone is secure but its not that secure so if you want to listen in and have the abbilty then go on
Advisor: Here is the phone sir
PM: Ahh thank you.
The PM picks up the phone witch had the number for the comnder of the forces already dialed
PM: Would you mind, I need some privacy
Advisor: Ok, I will go to my office
PM: Thanks
The advisor leaves the room
Commander: Hello prime minister, how can I help you?
PM: We need to move the 51st and 52nd infentry and the fleet closer to the nation of Naasha, but do not enter their waters under any circumstances.
Commander: Ok we will move them as soon as possible, we will be 10 miles away from their coast in about 23 hours if we move now
PM: Ok, but one thing why 10 miles away?
Commander: Beacuse as far as I am aware 10 miles is were their water ends and international waters begin
PM: Ok, thank you bye
The PM puts the phone down and calls hes advisor
Advisor: Yes sir?
PM: Prepare a press statment that states that we are moving a small force (only 900 fighting personel) to the edge of international waters so we can moniter the situation more carefuly
Advisor: Ok I will get right on that
PM: Also, please make sure that its clear that this is NOT a decleration of war against any one
Advisor: Ok sir I will do that now

It has been stressd that this is not a decleartion of war and if anything a peace keeping operation, but for the time being it is purely to gain inteligence on the situation
OCC: Like I said if im too late to participate in this RP tell me and ignore that i moved my people :D
OOC: Too tired to respond yet, but no you aren't really too late. I'm not sure what you could acheive by force here, so using diplomatic influence would probably be better here. If you want to find out more about what's been happening then read through the thread, the start of it is a few days after Clandonia Prime announced it would withdraw it's troops from Naasha, after nearly defeating the country.

We understand that you do not have the required facilities to facilitate the deployment of large foreign powers. We also understand that your populace is mistrustful of foreign armed forces in their lands. We fully support the suggestion of the formation of a coalition force. As recommended, we will place our forces at readiness, and the Dentara 1st Imperial Regiment and Dentara Air Command Third Echelon will be posted aboard Dentara Imperial Navy 2nd Fleet, en route to a location approximately 50 miles off the coast of Naasha. Joining the forces will be elements of the Dentara 3rd Siege Regiment.
Seeing as we cannot deploy on the ground, elements of the DAC Third Echelon will begin aerial drops of supplies, weapons and small armoured vehicles, for use by the UNNS. We request coordinates to air drop these supplies. We also request coordinates to launch our F/A-18 Hornet squadrons on CAP and strike missions to support UNNS assets on the ground.
Finally, we have brought 150 Drill Sergeants for the purpose of training new recruits to supplement forces already in action. If you wish, we can airdrop these trainers and give them orders to train your troops to further increase your combat ready forces.

Public Statement
Greetings from the Republic of Ackistan!
We are pleased to see other nations taking an interest in supporting the UNNS. For quite some time our government has taken an interest in the people of Surdun and Naasha. Initially, our goal was to establish peace in this region and assist the war ravaged nations in rebuilding. When it became apparent that was not possible, we shifted our efforts toward supporting the UNNS.
The UNNS wish to unite and liberate Naasha and Surdun. They have pledged to institute a democracy with open elections. Like every good citizen, they merely want what is best for their country. We support that.
It is important for all parties to realize that foreign powers are viewed with mistrust in these two nations. They are neither paranoid nor xenophobic. They have excellent reason to doubt the intentions of outsiders. Foreign nations have long meddled in their affairs, slaughtered their people, and flagrantly disregarded treaties.
Our nation has worked long and hard to earn the trust of these people, and we feel we are close to achieving our goals, which are the goals of the UNNS. If a bunch of nations cause instability by showing up with their guns blazing, we will not take that very well.
We ask that newcomers to the area position their fleets south of Naasha/Surdun to give our friend Dartia some breathing room. We DEMAND that all parties refrain from landing troops on the ground without express permission from the UNNS leadership. If your nations wish to assist the UNNS by providing air strikes, air support, supplies, money, moral support or whatnot; we welcome that. Above all else, respect the wishes of the UNNS.
Best wishes,
Angelina Whittaker
Secretary of State

Advisor: Yes the UNNS has requested that no nation deploys any troops onto the ground, and that the fleets are moved to the south of the island
Commander: Ok I will aranage the fleet to be moved
PM: Ok, could we establish a no-fly-zone around the fleet and patrol it
Commander: Yes that is possible
PM: I would like to send a team of diplomats to akistan to start formal talks, how long would it take to fly them out to the carrier then on akistan when / if they want to talk to us
Advisor: We have the team ready to go and it will take only a few hours to reach the fleet at the 10 mile marker
PM: Ok dispatch them to the carrier and let me know when they get their, ok now my plans are to request direct "Leader to Leader" talks with Akistan.
Advisor: Ok
Commander: Once the fleet get into postion what should we do about the other fleets from other nations?
PM: Do not attack unless attacked apon, any attack could be seen as a decleration of war

PM: Sorry we only discuss the truth here, not stupid rumors made up by the tabloids
Reporter 2: So thats a yes?
All the reporters chuckle lightley
PM: No, I said it wasnt true, their for no we are not planning to invade any island
Reporter 3: So why did you order a fleet of ships to move near this island then?
PM: The fleet was moved purely to provide a defense force to our planned aid drops
Reporter 4: How many people are ready to go?
PM: We are unable to comment on this at the moment, we will let you know as the numbers are finalized
Advisor: Ok thank you for the quetions but the prime minsiter is very busy and we need to move on!
The UNNS strongly urge the free nation of Dartia, whom we have no quarrel with, to refuse any Clandonian offers of aid, as that nation merely wishes to establish a foothold within the region and cares little for countries such as ours.
We suggest that the nations wishing to aid us send representatives to our HQ in Surdun (coordinates to follow securely) in order to establish rules of engagement and a battle plan.
OOC: A map of Naasha and Surdun is available from the factbook in my signature, sorry for the poor drawing. The region this is located in is to be called 'Nova Europe' or something, it hasn't been decided yet but I will find the link to a map for you.
EDIT: Land claims map for us is here (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=503964&highlight=Europe+Land+Claims).
Dentara assets will be moved to a point 50 miles directly south of Naasha, to avoid potential hostilities with the Free Land of Dartia.
Also, after a review of forces currently in service and a recent increase in funding, a larger concentration of Dentaran Imperial forces will be moved to the fleet staging area, namely the remainder of the Dentaran 3rd Siege Regiment, the Dentaran 4th Imperial Paratroop Regiment, the Dentaran 7th Imperial Regiment, the Dentaran 1st Imperial Armoured Regiment and the Dentaran Naval Air Group, 2nd Echelon, and to facilitate this, the Dentaran Imperial Navy 5th Fleet will be consolidated into the 2nd Fleet. An encrypted file containing the new assets will be sent to the appropriate governments. Of course, unless the UNNS gives it's permission, these forces will most likely not see any action. Nonetheless, we stress that we will, on request, field a force of military assets wherever requested, and ask that our aerial assets are used as needed, especially with the arrival of F-111c Refitted Carrier Bombers.

As promised, secure coordinates for a meeting point for national representatives are attached to this message.
The meeting will take place in UNNS controlled Naasha; the port of Samka, and representatives may arrive by helicopter or ship.
We do advise that excessive displays of force are not required and may well damage our popularity with the citizens.
The purpose of this is to verify what forces each nation has commited to the area, set up a coalition force with the goal of liberating Naasha (and Surdun in the near future), provide necessary ground intelligence for each involved nation and, if things proceed well, establish an operational plan and rules of engagement for a strike against Imperialist-held Naasha.
Please inform us whether this would be acceptable, ideally the meeting would be held tomorrow or in the near future.
Regards, UNNS leadership.

Message to Ackistani Forward Air Control
2nd Infantry pinned down on NH4 approx 40km from Morgur. Imperial air assets in area. Request close air support to suppress enemy ground forces and fighter sweep to clear the skies.
Having already agreed to provide air support and air strikes to the UNNS, the Ackistani navy and air force already had a few assets in the air. They were ready to answer any calls for assistance.
Four F-14 Tomcats (2 groups of two) flying air patrol missions over the Ackistani fleet were diverted to engage Imperial air assets. They had full authority to fire upon any enemy aircraft they encountered, and would do so without warning. Meanwhile, four alert fighters stationed on the Vindicator were ordered to take to the skies to replace their diverted comrades.
Two F-15E's and one AC-130 Spectre were available for close air support. The F-15's were competent fighters, and moved into position as quickly as possible. The Spectre was not well equipped to face other aircraft. It circled over the Ackistani fleet, and would move into position only after any Imperial aircraft had been driven off or destroyed.
One J-10 went down before the flight even knew what hit them, the remaining three aircraft weaved frantically, trying to avoid missile locks.
Unfortunately, the low altitude of the flight caused one aircraft to crash into the ground while doing so, the other two managed to get clear and turn around to engage the attacking F-14's.

While the two lead fighters took aggressive actions, their wingmen did what they could to protect their partner from threats.
One of the lead fighters had a confirmed kill already, and was feeling pretty good about himself. This was their first real engagement, and getting the first kill was a real confidence booster. Meanwhile, the other lead fighter had chased of the Imperial fighters into the ground.
The two wingmen kept an eye on the remaining Imperial fighters. When they observed the remaining J-10's assuming attack postures, they broke formation to intercept. Before they could establish a lock on their enemies, incoming missiles were already on their way towards the Ackistani lead fighters.
Captain Young (a.k.a. Sparrow) was the only veteran among the group. When the missile warning indicator went off, he launched his countermeasures and banked hard. The incoming missile narrowly missed him.
Young's comrade wasn't so fortunate. He knew the incoming missile would strike him, and pulled his ejection lever. Having just chased a J-10 into the ground, his aircraft had not yet achieved the minimum altitude required for a safe ejection. His parachute opened, but he hit the ground way too fast. Both his legs were severely broken, and he was suffering extensive internal bleeding.
Another J-10 went down, only seconds after it's confirmed kill on an F-14. The last pilot was employing all of his tricks and countermeasures, but couldn't defeat three enemy aircraft alone. Using his low altitude, he attempted to escape the engagement.
The downed pilot had fortunately been spotted ejecting by UNNS forces, and the 2nd Infantry were able to dispatch a squad to his suspected location and bring him in.

28-10-2006, 21:02
One of the F-14's had been patrolling for some time before the battle, and needed to return to the Vindicator to refuel. The two other Tomcats gave chase to the retreating J-10. They weren't sure they would catch up with it, but maybe they could strafe it on the ground if it landed.
News of the downed pilot had reached the fleet. A search and rescue helicopter crew would soon be taking off from the Liberator. The downed pilot's approximate location was known. Imperialist and UNNS forces were fighting in the area, so there was a great sense of urgency to find their missing man.
The F-15E's were in position to begin their attack on Imperialist armor. On the ground, Ackistani FAC's were guiding their approach and fire.
Confident the Imperialist air force had been driven off, the Spectre changed course to approach the action on the ground. Two of the recently launched F-14's would provide escort once they caught up.
Imperialist APC's and support tanks of the 2nd Mechanised Division were destroyed by coordinated strikes from the F-15E's. But the Spectre gunship was really turning the battle for the UNNS, every time a pocket of Imperial resistance opened up, a swift strike would flatten it.
Within an hour the road had been cleared and the remainder of the Imperialist forces withdrew.
The lone J-10 headed back for it's base at Air Command in Naash, dodging and weaving, trying to evade the enemy fire until it got back into the range of Imperial AA defenses.
Secure Communique to UNNS Leadership
FROM: Emperor Aramius the 1st
The area chosen for the meeting is acceptable, and I myself will be arriving via UH-60 helicopter. Note that there will be an escort of one squadron of F-14r Refitted Tomcat Interceptors, and three UH-60s will be arriving. These escort assets will return to the fleet once I am on the ground. Note also that I will be arriving with a small bodyguard unit of four men.
UNNS response to Dentara
This will be fine, although we do ask that you fly your air assets in as low as possible to try and evade Imperial radar, which will help us to keep the meeting low-key.
We are preparing an intact hotel and adjoining conference centre on the waterfront, UNNS will provide security to the premises as needed.
Your helicopters may use the extending docks for landing, as these have served us excellently for our captured ones.
A convoy of low-flying UH-60 Blackhawk helicopters slashed in toward Naashan airspace, flying at 120 metres above sea level, and escorted by a full squadron of refitted Tomcats that were pacing them quite easily. The squadron's CO, Captain Lester, was extremely nervous, and rightfully so, because one of the UH-60s carried Emperor Aramius himself.
Coming in at a steady 170km/h, the convoy approached the port of Samka. There, the middle UH-60 peeled off and landed, while the rest of the convoy came about and began the flight back to the carrier group, as another escort group would return the Emperor to the fleet.
Disembarking from the UH-60 and flanked by four elite Imperial Infantry, the Emperor rapidly marched across to the waiting UNNS troops nearby the hotel & conference centre chosen for the meeting.
The speedy approach of the Emperor's Blackhawk helicopters had been noticed, and by the time they touched down a squad of unusually neat looking UNNS soldiers had arrived to welcome them.
The docklands were in a state of wreckage, buildings in ruins, seemingly torn apart by projectiles from above, the Emperor would notice more ruin as he moved through the city, as well as buildings collapsed across streets in several places.
A nervous looking sergeant stepped forward to greet the men as they disembarked.
"Good afternoon your Imperial Majesty, your accomodation, and lodgings for your retinue have been set up in a hotel about two blocks from here, it's a little way but if you'd like to follow me..."
'Thank you Sergeant,' replied the Emperor to the obviously nervous trooper standing before him. While walking toward the hotel, he noticed, firstly, the massive amounts of damage caused to the buildings of the Port. However, he didn't say anything; he merely took in how much damage had been caused in the fight to defeat the Empress.
'Tell me, Sergeant,' began the Emperor, 'are all the cities and townships of Naasha like this?'
"Well, here is the worst sir, the buildings in the docklands were hit by Clandonian orbital weaponry, they've made strikes across the nation. The capital is also pretty bad, they launched big artillery strikes there, but obviously we can't exactly wander in and take a look.
The buildings collapsed across the streets were done so with explosives to create defensive barriers against Clandonian tanks. The other damage you see is from Imperial Naashan artillery, luckily Ackistani air strikes have put them out of action."
They rounded a corner, revealing a reasonably large and intact hotel, although the letters forming it's name had fallen off.
"Here we are sir, we've four squads on security detail, and with these bodyguards as well the place ought to be pretty secure. The staff inside will show you to your quarters, but just in case we do get attacked, you should probably head across the street if possible to the checkpoint in that building there."
The sergeant pointed out a partially ruined building across from the hotel, and then called to his squad, who headed over to it.
"Have a nice stay sir."
'Thank you, Sergeant,' replied the Emperor, before entering the hotel. His first item of business was to unpack his gear, which was a prototype 7.62mm Light Assault Rifle, which he kept unloaded for the moment, and his SatCom uplink with the Dentaran Imperial forces off the coast.
Then, having finished that, the Emperor settled in until the summons came for the discussions to begin.

Thus far, the Ackistani fighters had yet to encounter any Imperial AA defenses. The continued to persue the J-10 unaware of the danger they were in.
An attendant informed the Emperor that he was the first to arrive, but the others ought to arrive shortly. The staff did their best to make their guest comfortable, obviously slightly awed to be in the presence of an Emperor.
***********************************************************
A lone NA-3 clattered through the breezy afternoon air toward Samka. Inside sat both Thomas Lenrov and Gregor Radinar, to represent the UNNS. Also inside was Captain Henderson, it had been suggested that they shared transport, as UNNS resources were strained now that they were forced to rely on helicopters to access the two captured cities.
The chopper landed and the three disembarked quietly, walking toward the hotel.
OOC: Figured I'd give your man a lift Ackistan, considering he's my guest. I'll stop controlling him from here.
The whoosh of the incoming jets, both Naashan and Ackistani, brought the defenses around Naash back to the alert. From a rooftop in the city centre, a two man squad carefully took aim and fired a Starstreak surface to air missile at the nearer of the two enemy fighters.

"I'm picking up radar activity on the ground. They've got a lock on me!"
Not a second later, the missile took off to seek out the F-14. The pilot deployed his countermeasures, and did what he could to evade. He thought he had done enough. He did not even try to eject. When the missile struck his plane, he was killed instantly in a ball of flame.
The other pilot banked away from the direction of AA fire, and turned back home.
Aboard the Vindicator, military planners stood in front of a large map of the region. A large red circle was drawn in, which would be off limits to aircraft until the AA units there had been identified and destroyed. Soon after, the order was given for a number of F-16's and Prowlers to be made ready for take off.
The only actual static air defenses are SAM batteries around the Air Command. But the defenders of the city have a few Starstreak shoulder fired SAM's.

Please wait until we have completed salvage of your last fleet before sending another.
OOC: I hate to spam up my own thread but... hahaha, well said Dartia.
A lone V-22 Osprey took off from the Intrepid-class aircraft carrier Chimaera, escorted by two Ka-50s and two Su-47s. A encrypted communique came from the Osprey:
"This is Commodore Admiral James Salvatore of the Royal Ezaltian Navy. I hope I'm not late for the talks. I'm heading for you position now."
Elsewhere, a CAP of five F/A-37 Talons picked up the F-14's distress signal. "This is Wyvern 1. Ackistani fighters, do you need assistance, over?"

We support the decision to back the UNNS. Our government still has some reservations about the large quantities of forces being sent to our area.
If some of the nations entering the fray are willing to send their fleets home, we would permit them use our air force base in Crete until the successful conclusion of this war.
OOC: Ya, I thought it would be funny and I couldn't resist :)

We would also be willing to send a diplomat to any sort of talk

Either way we are brinning a helicopter
escorted by 2 F-15's that will break away
once the helicopter has landed
On the bridge of the HMS Breaker
Their are two men, both are the captains of the HMS Breaker
Jean Luke: Sir, we have been requested to send a diplomat to some sort of confrence
Fred Hi-Jing: Ok, do we have the co-ord's?
JL: Yes, here they are
Jean Luke pass's the co-ords witch are on a peice of paper
FH: Ok, use the UH-60 Blackhawk, give the diplomat a body gaurd and give the diplomat the standard issue side arm
JL: Will do captain, also should we send the 2 escort ready F15's ?
FH: Yes, get them ready and send them to the co-ords
JL: Ok I will make an accouncment
Jean Luke walks over to a microphone and turns it on
(Over the PA)JL: Please will the diplomat come to the brifeing room along with the two F15 pilots
Jean walks away from the microphone after switching it back off
Both captains walk to the brifeing room
In the brifeing room their is a screen, three pilots and the captains and James Goodwin the diplomat
James Goodwin: Hello sir, are we ready to go?
FH: Yes, you will be disptached to a confrence using the UH-60, and being escorted at low level by two F-15's
JG: Ok And i guess these two men are the pilots of the F-15?
FH: That is correct
JL: The plan is to fly low and land the blackhawk in the port then the F-15's break off and return to the carrier
All the men agree on the plan and walk up out of the room to the plane
The first F-15 takes off and starts to circulate the carrier
FH: Ok get that helicopter off and going!
The blackhawk takes off with the diplomat on board, the helicopter hovered at 150 meters while the first F15 got in postion, then the second F15 took off and started follow the over two aircrafts
Pilot1(the lead one): In postion beging formation flight
Pilot2(Blackhawk): Roger that, fly out at 150m
Pilot3(Rear F15): Roger, whats the eta?
Pilot2: ETE is 5 minutes
Pilot1: Roger
5 Minutes Pass
Pilot2: Requesting permison to land over
Sorry for speaking for your air trafic controler
ATC: Roger that permison to land granted
The pilot then lands the helicopter on the make-shift heli-pad
Pilot1: Escort compleet, break formation repeat BREAK formation
Pilot3: Roger that breaking formation and returing to home base
The diplomat exits the helicopter
OOC: We wouldn't actually have an air traffic controller, as Samka's airport has been bombed to bits and is under Imperial control anyway.
The sergeant greeted both arriving diplomats with a brisk handshake, and led the way to the hotel. The conference could begin once the UNNS delegates were ready.

Captain Henson, the Ackistani spokesperson was more than a bit nervous. This sort of meeting was WAY beyond his normal duties. He was a fighter pilot. Meeting heads of state and foreign dignitaries was entirely new to him...
OOC: Yes, we might have that. You have to understand that the UNNS are operating out of a mostly destroyed city and they aren't that professional at times either.
Thomas Lenrov, the UNNS leader, and many people's favourite candidate for control over the two nations once the war is won, glanced around the room. Everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves, even if noone looked particularly relaxed. He coughed slightly to get their attention and began to speak.
"Friends, comrades! I am honoured that our humble cause has gathered so much support from your great nations, we in the UNNS appreciate that support, and our most recent engagements with the Imperialists have highlighted to us that our war cannot be won alone."
"This is why we have invited you here, I guess all these fleets you've brought aren't here on holiday, no? Well, we certainly have a use for them my friends! I, of course, am more of a visionary, a leader, but I'll hand you over now our Operations Director, Gregor Radinar, he's the man who gets things done."
Chuckling to himself, Lenrov returned to his seat and waved for his subordinate to begin. Radinar stood and cleared his throat, when he spoke, it was in a much clearer, more formal way than Lenrov, his chiselled features suggested that this man was Naashan.
"Good evening to you all. I'm sure, with such great forces as you all possess, you are aware of the logistical problems posed by an invasion of Naasha. All of your forces are aboard ships, which means we will have to secure docking facilities for them. Currently, the only place we can do this is in the city of Vogrost, which recently came under our control, it is located south of here."
"Even then, with the limited dock space available, the logistics are going to be a problem. If the Imperials catch wind of the operation before enough of your forces are on the shore then they will be able to strike at Vogrost and push you back into the sea."
"Now, obviously there are tactical issues to discuss, but first I would like to propose that for the sake of unity, a coalition is formed, under one commander. Coalition forces would take orders from this man, or woman, but would fight as their own seperate national units alongside our UNNS fighters and the defected Naashan troops."

"Has the UNNS changed its position regarding a foreign invasion of Naasha? You seemed opposed to it last I knew."
"Recent engagements with the Imperials have taught us a sad lesson comrade, if not for your prompt air assistance we would have lost one of our finest divisions yesterday. And Imperial forces still outnumber us manifold. No, we will hope to organise a coalition, and hopefully employ some good propaganda to win support for it."

29-10-2006, 02:38
"Of course that is your decision. The prospect of a ground invasion is not very popular with my government. We will of course support the UNNS as we have, but I do not foresee Ackistani ground troops being deployed."
"We did not anticipate Ackistani ground troops being deployed, and we believe it would probably be best if they were not, as Clandonia may well get involved just to engage them. As for the rest of you, are you prepared to commit your forces to a coalition invasion?"

"Give us numbers and a stageing point in side a neibouring country (if possible) and ill get what you need, we can commit around 20,000 troops (and more support personel) with in a few days as we have been on high alert for a while and they are ready to move when you give the go ahead, we also have around 900 speical forces opertives who can do covert strikes, and we have some very nice missles mainly tomhawks that can be lauched at any target you require from their current postion
And would nations not willing to commit troops be able to commit aid and support perosonel"
Emperor Aramius the 1st stands and addresses the assembly...
'I fully support the formation of a coalition, although I would prefer to keep Dentaran assets under our own control. As of this moment, the Dentaran Task Force holding position 50 miles south of Naasha is able to deploy a full regiment in a total of 40 minutes via paradrops, able to deploy sizeable Special Forces units anywhere, once again via paradrops, and is able to initiate a combat landing to deploy two Imperial Regiments, an Imperial Armoured Regiment and an Imperial Siege Regiment. We can also conduct deep strike missions into Naashan airspace to harass the Naashan Imperialists still in the area.
As for a staging post and amphibious assault troubles, they are nonexistant for our forces, as our troop carriers have a very shallow keel, allowing them to approach and conduct landing operations. Once the combat landing is completed, automated tractors will deploy from our troop carriers, which can deploy into a large, temporary staging post, complete with an airfield. To assist the other military forces nearby, I offer the use of that staging post for all national militaries that will be in the coalition. In this way, we can leap the hurdle.
As for the possibility of an Imperialist surprise assault, I can delay that if necessary by use of the Dentaran 4th Imperial Paratroop Regiment, supported by aerial assets.
Now, for tactics. While the cities of Vogrost, Morgur and Forstvir are relatively close together, allowing for a quick, decisive assault to secure any one of them at any time, the cities of Naash and Sandya are quite far away, and their distance allows forces to accidentally become seperated. I propose that, once the 'Green Triangle' cities are firmly under UNNS control, we form two seperate armies. The larger army would proceed to Naash to take control of the city and finish off the Imperialist military forces. The smaller army would proceed to Sandya to finish off the Empress and her Empress Guard, thereby taking control of the seat of government, abolishing the Imperial reign, and allowing the nationwide takeover of the UNNS to be completed. If we wanted to, we could also send a smaller force to attack from the east, thereby taking control of the cities of Rosaa and Keyremar.
I am curious, however, about the standing of the UNNS to this growing movement calling itself the 'Naashan Worker's Party,' paticularly their control of the city of Reyvvr and UNNS plans concerning that city.

'My people have agrred with the plans brought forward today, and some bad news, my satalite phone has gone out i think something is wrong with the roof satalite'
Hearing that the satellite phone was out, Emperor Aramius pulled a small radio from his cloak and said, 'Imperial Bodyguards, arm up, and head for the conference room. We may have some trouble. Oh, and bring my rifle as well. Aramius Out.' He then stood again, and spoke out to the assembly, 'Although there may be nothing wrong, I suggest that we all prepare our respective retinues, bodyguards and security forces for a possible attack.' OOC: I was thinking something like this could happen to add some exictment to a overwise rahther dull confrence :p
Mabye a rocket could have hit the next door buliding?
Trooper Joansonn cursed silently as he stepped over the twisted power cables to the satellite dish. As one of the elite 'Ravens' of the Empress' Guard, he wasn't really expecting to trip over a wire on his first mission. Still, so far noone had seemed to notice, and his squad was almost in place.
Nodding to the six other men in his team, he gently reached for the power control box on the rooftop, opened it and pulled out a row of fuses. At almost the same moment, two of his colleagues on the road side of the building began firing at the UNNS guards, who were caught in the open and killed nearly instantly.
On the other side of the roof, away from prying eyes, the remaining four men had secured their grappling lines and began to gently slide down the face of the wall, avoiding the windows.
Hearing the faint chatter of gunfire, Aramius leapt out of his chair and yelled, 'Everyone take cover!' Charging for the doorway and unsheathing his .50cal pistol, he moved quickly to the entrance of the conference centre, meeting his bodyguards, standing by the doorway with SMGs drawn, one of which tossed him his Light Assault Rifle, before returning his attention to peering out of the doorway, looking for the unseen agressors whilst muttering, 'Amateurs...'
Aramius then quickly updated his bodyguards. 'We have to get to my quarters in the hotel building. The UNNS squads can hold this structure; we have to get reinforcements and air support ASAP. Two squads of 'Ghosts' should be able to deal with these men, especially if they are supported by F-14s.' Running past a UNNS security team moving to secure the doorway, the Emperor and his guardsmen headed through the makeshift portal between the conference centre and the hotel, only to dive behind a wall as an unknown hostile opened fire on them, catching one of the bodyguards with a three round burst in the chest. Wheeling around the corner, Aramius and a bodyguard hit the hostile with a spray of automatic fire, and was rewarded with seeing his now bullet ridden body propelled into the wall.
Sprinting up the stairs, the four men arrived at the Emperor's suite. The bodyguards set up in the hallway to hold off any attackers, while the Emperor connected to the Dentaran SatCom and issued a quick burst communique to the Dentaran Fleet: 'Situation critical, send air support and 'Ghost' support squads ASAP.' As soon as this was away, Aramius shut off the ComSat array, hid it, only to hear the chatter of his bodyguards' SMGs, followed by two of them dashing into the room and taking cover. Reaching for his radio, Aramius yelled into it on the UNNS channel, 'Emperor Aramius here, pinned down in Dentaran suite, request immediate assistance!'
OOC: Thank the heavens, finally a bit of action for us!
They had penetrated a window on the accomodation level, intending to move down into the conference centre, but the lead trooper was fortunate enough to have his gun up when the three men burst around the corner. He fired off a spurt of rounds, catching one man in the chest, before going down himself.
The remaining three fell back to another corner, one held the corridor while the other two Ravens looked for the back staircase.
Up on the roof, Trooper Joansonn heard the gunfire, and realised that they must have been detected, he grabbed his radio, well aware of the forces that all of these leaders could call in.
Raven One to Base, mission is compromised, one man down. We are on the roof, perimiter is not secure. We are detected, repeat detected. Request heavy support.
"Get DOWN, sir!" the bodyguard yelled as he threw Salvatore to the floor, drawing his MP7. He slammed the door of the conference room shut, yelling out to the other bodyguards in the room to help him block the door with the conference table.
Elsewhere, the pilots of the two Ka-50s were enjoying their cheeseburgers when their portable radios went off. Shots could be heard in the background as Slavatore said, "We need support NOW! Get the hell over here!"
Throwing a wad of cash on the table, the pilots jumped into their choppers, starting up the engines and taking off, flying towards the hotel.
Two menacing looking NA-4 helicopters (similar to the UH-60 Blackhawk) buzzed over the city, they didn't answer UNNS contact attempts, but because of the large amount of foreign helicopters around it was decided that they might be diplomats, and they weren't fired upon.
Trooper Joansonn greeted the sergeant with a salute as two squads of Jade Guards disembarked onto the hotel's roof.
"The others are inside sir! We've no way of getting to them, they've sealed off the entrances."
"Then why on earth are you still on the roof trooper?! We'll have to do this ourselves, bloody Ravens always mess things up. Cover us as we descend, we're going in through the front door. I trust even you can do that?"
With a final glare, the man called to his team, who used their own grappeling hooks and lines to descend the front of the building, while the three on the rooftop and machine gun fire from the NA-4's suppressed the UNNS.
They reached the street and paused, a grenade was launched in the direction of the checkpoint across the street, while another one was tossed into the hotel's foyer. They attacked through the smoke, fourteen bloodthirsty and well armed, fiercly Imperial troops.
"Blue 2 here. Targets acquired, sir."
"10-4, Blue 2. Fire at will."
Two AIM-9X Sidewinders flew out from under each chopper's wings, heading directly for the NA-4s.
One of the helicopters was struck, and sent into a tailspin to the ground. The other banked sharply and somehow managed to evade the missile, the proximity to the ground probably helping to fool it. Not bothering to even try to fight back, the craft hugged the rooftops and sped away.
"Shit! Air support has left us! Get inside!"
The remainder of the Empress Guard managed to get inside the hotel's foyer, and while the main force attempted to pierce the corridor to the conference room, a group of five headed up the main staircase to the accomodation area.

The sound of gun fire and explosions was everywhere. Captain Henderson drew his sidearm. He would remain with the UNNS leaders, and serve as their protectors. If need be, he would sacrifice himself for them, but only as a last resort.
On the Chimaera, another pair of V-22s were being prepped for launch. Soldiers armed with UMP-40s and underbarrel grenade launchers strapped on their body armor and sidearms, dashing inside the choppers. Reinforcements were on the way.
A wing of UH-60 Blackhawks outfitted for close support, escorted by two squadrons of F-14r Tomcats, sped toward the combat scene at extreme speed. Arriving, they saw the remains of what appeared to be an enemy helicopter and several hostiles on the roof, who dove for cover while the Blackhawks approached. Descending rapidly, all four Blackhawks deployed their squad of 8 'Ghost' Imperial Special Forces units, who proceeded to begin securing the hotel, while the F-14r squadrons maintained UNNS air superiority.
Hearing his radio come to life, Aramius brought it up and barked into it, 'Ghosts, Emperor Aramius here. Trapped on second floor, pinned down, need assistance ASAP.
The five Jade Guards had swept the first floor, it was mainly a staff area, so they hadn't stayed long, they climbed the staircase to the second floor, only to be met with a volley of fire that drove them back.

HOTEL
Blasting the door open, six Ghosts entered the hotel ground floor, moving to cover quickly and proceeding to carefully secure each room. At the main foyer, they had the most trouble, as there was a concentration of hostile forces. Throwing frag grenades, the Ghosts opened fire, trying to elimenate the hostiles as quickly as possible.
CONFERENCE CENTRE
The remainder of the Ghosts were attempting to get into the Conference Centre, but were having a difficult time of it, as the hostiles had already secured the entry corridor and the streetside doorway. A firefight ensued as the Ghosts tried desperately to elimenate the hostiles, get into the building and get to the relatively vulnerable UNNS and national delegates.
Snipers took positions on adjecent rooftops, their L115A1 rifles providing complete coverage of the hotel. Another fireteam was in an alley, their rifles trained at the back door where a demolitions man was strapping plastic explosives.
The second V-22 had landed on the roof, where troopers were rapelling down to the second floor. "Gamma Team here. We're coming to your postion, Aramius.

'Ok, listen up, 30 special forces operatives are currenrtly rushing down to here to secure it, the talks should continue when it has been made secure if it cant my goverment has aranged to transport all the people in this room to the HMS Breaker and then onto your goverments fleet'
Foot steps and yelling can be heard in the back ground
On the stairs
'Put the gun down or you will be shot'
The man they were yelling at carried on pointing the gun at them
'Put it down!'
'No way you are an intruder'
One of the Sterotops troops opens fire and fires 5 rounds
'Strike Force Command, we have fired shots at armed man so far he has been the only resitances we have found we are still on the stairs over'
The UNNS operative fell to the ground, shot by what he thought were more Imperials, oops.
The Jade Guards were outnumbered and outgunned, but were further into the hotel than the other teams, and were fighting a bitter rearguard action to keep them at bay while the lead members exchanged shots with the bodyguards in front.

OOC: I forgot to mention the 30 men arnt all togher their spilt up all over the hotel my bad lol, and opps for shooting a UNNS person lol
'O crap, we shot a UNNS hes not one of the people invading, preety good thing your not good at shooting you hit hes arm but he will probley live get a medic down here now!'
OOC AGain: Naasha if you want your person to die just say that he dies before the medic gets their
The man rolled on the ground, cursing and clutching his arm. He lashed out at the medic until he saw that the man wasn't an Imperial Naashan.
Meanwhile another Jade Guard had gone down outside Aramius' suite, but they were almost at the door. The entire team was strung out along the corridor, and they certainly weren't paying enough attention to the man rapelling down to the window at the end of it.
The windows shattered all at once, and the team of Ezaltian special forces men rolled in. Flashbang grenades went off all around. The G36s and UMPs cut loose into the Jade Guards, taking them by surprise.
Hearing the sudden commotion, Aramius and his bodyguards leaned out of the doorway and opened fire as well. Between the friendly combatants, the bodyguards and the Emperor, the Jade Guards were pushed back, with moderate casualties.
Caught in the crossfire, three of the men went down, the other two turned to stagger back downstairs, only to be caught up in a hail of fire from the other Ghost team. They surrendered, rather than be shot like their comrades.
The Ezaltians herded the defeated Jade Guards to another room, shoving them inside and locking the door. A pair of soldiers stood guard over them.
The two Hokums were still orbiting the building, just waiting for an Imperialist to show his face.
Emperor Aramius returned to the conference chamber, escorted by two surviving bodyguards and a full squad of eight Ghosts (the remainder of the Ghosts were still securing the rest of Samka from the Jade Guards). Upon entering, he began talking to the delegates thatwere still assembled, beginning with, 'Delegates and leaders of the UNNS, I believe that this attack proves that we have to act, and act quickly. The mere fact that the Imperialists would attack a meeting of delegates, many of whom come from nations that have not yet made any actions against the Imperialists, shows that they are growing desperate, as the only goal of such an attack would be to prevent any nations from supporting the UNNS. I hereby propose that we, as nations, respond to this unprovoked and cowardly attack by launching a full scale assault, with all the forces at our disposal! If we can show sufficient force and secure the 'Green Triangle' cities, we may be able to force the Jade Empress and the remainder of her supporters and military assets to surrender! Finally, I ask that the leaders of the UNNS grant permission for Coalition forces to enter Naasha itself. Who is with me?'

Although we have not yet managed to re-establish contact with Emperor Aramius, Dentaran Naval Air Group Second Echelon Command has confirmed that a force of 'Ghost' Special Forces were deployed to the area, and that most fighting has subsi...new information, viewers! Captain Blaine Olivier sat himself down in the cockpit of his B-52, strapping himself in. The rest of the crew did the same, and the B-52, Irene the Intimidator, began to taxi down the runway. Other BUFFs were taking off as well, going into formation for the flight to Naasha. The purple, black and white of the Ezaltian flag glinted off their fuselages as the sun began to set. A squadron of F/A-37 Talons met them as they began to fly south.
Their target: Sandya. Their mission: accurate bombing of all military and government assets.
Olivier flipped on the autopilot and settled himself more comfortably in his chair as a crewman came around with a Thermos of tomato soup.

"No, the way forward must be an invasion, it won't have to be huge, just well placed, where the Imperials least suspect it and where we will win the hearts of the populace."
"I propose that the glorious Dentaran parachute regiment conducts a drop in loyalist Imperial territory, to capture the International Airport at Sandya. From there they can strike at Imperial assets with reinforcements they can fly in and divert their attention away from the second front I propose we open."
"This will be an amphibious landing with the aim of capturing Morgur, combined with an armoured thrust from Vogrost to take the slightly better defended city of Forstvir. Thus, the green triangle is secured."
"From then onwards speed will be essential, the Ezaltian and Sterotops forces will push on to the capital and relieve the Dentarans, who will be keeping the majority of the Naashan forces occupied by holding the airport. The two groups can then strike at Sandya itself."
"Meanwhile, the UNNS will conduct an assault on Naash, with the help of the defected Naashan regiments we will at least be able to bottle up the enemy reinforcements within the city, at best we could even take it, although I think we may need assistance in that."

Our government wishes to dispatch helicopters to collect Captain Henderson and the bodies of our dead pilots.

This is of course totally acceptable to us, we will have the bodies collected from the field and ready for you.
Pass along our condolences to those involved.
The bomber crews grumbled under their breath when the AWACS told them to abort their mission. The BUFFs and Talons made a wide loop, heading back north to Valais.
Meanwhile, Marines in the 1st Fleet began to ready themselves for battle. Some fed belts of ammunition into their machineguns while others taped their blood type onto their boots. A few of the Marines mentioned bad luck, but everybody knew it was better to be safe than sorry.
Lieutenant Andrew Copperfield removed the cleaning swab from the barrel of his G-36, wiping the grime off on a towel. He'd never aimed the weapon at a person, but all the men had plenty of practice shooting up aluminum targets. He envied the SAS guys who had rescued the Commodore yesterday. They already knew how to engage the Imperialists, how to destroy them. Copperfield sighed. Before long, he would too.
'I agree with your planned course of action. The Dentaran 4th Imperial Parachute Regiment will be deployed to the Sandya military airbase via C-130 paradrops, escorted by 6 squadrons of F/A-18 Hornets & 2 squadrons F-14r Tomcats outfitted for 'Wild Weasel' operations, supported by one wing of F-111c Carrier Bombers. Once captured, the rest of the Dentaran Forces will be deployed on the ground and commence an invasion of Sandya itself, while the Dentaran Air Command Third Echelon will headquarter itself on at the military airbase,' responded Emperor Aramius the 1st, before inputting orders into his SatCom. Within half an hour, the entire assault force was in the air, en route to Sandya, with the F-14rs and F-111cs heading out in front to neutralize the SAM defenses.
OOC: Just so you know, Wild Weasels are fighters that fly overhead, outfitted with stacks of coutermeasures, while the F-111cs fire guided missiles on the SAMs when they reveal themselves. Much-used tactic from around 1965-1970.

So Naasha, do I need to capture Vogrost first, or is it already ours?
OOC: 8 squadrons of fighters for a regiment being deployed via parachute over the centre of Imperialist Government? Personally, that escort is pretty small to me :D
IC: The squadron of C-130 Hercules transports modified for parachute deployments were just 5km from the outer edges of the Sandya Airbase, following the squadrons of F/A-18 Hornets escorting them. The F-14rs and F-111cs had already made their strike, and every SAM site in the vicinity was now burning wreckage. Nearly over the base, the Regiment Commander, Kordan Uviir, stood, and announced, 'Troops, listen up! We are going to do a HALO, that is, High Altitude Low Opening, jump into Imperialist territory, right into the Sandya Airbase. We have orders to secure the airbase ASAP so that the follow-up C-130 Hercules transports can deploy the 1st and 7th Imperial Regiments, the 1st Imperial Armoured Regiment and the 3rd Siege Regiment to the area. Jump in five...four...three...two...one...'
Leaping out of the aircraft first, Uviir plummeted to the Earth at extreme speed, breathing calmly inside his mask and carefully checking the clip in his M-4 Rifle.

Touching down en masse, the Dentaran 4th Imperial Paratroop Regiment landed in the Airbase perimeter and promptly opened fire on the guards. In seconds, the tower sentries were dead, killed by marksmen, while the rest of the Imperialist troops were being pushed back into the structures by the sheer numbers of Dentaran troopers on the ground. Then the Ghosts touched down. Tasked with taking control of the underground hangar and ensuring the survival of all Naashan aircraft, they rapidly secured a small building before heading down below. Pretty soon, the echoes of gunfire came up from the shaft.
Having finished securing the area, the Dentarans turned their attention onto the final buildings to be secured. Charging in en masse, they quickly secured the building, killing all who resisted. In minutes, the above-ground facilities of the Sandya Airbase had been taken, and the underground facilities were clear, with the exception of a few barricaded squads of Naashan Imperialist troops.
Marching into the communications centre, Regimental Commander Uviir tuned the radio into the frequency of the Dentaran forces in the region, and made a quick announcement; 'Foothold established. Bring 'em in.'
Launching from their places on the assortment of carriers, a fleet of C-130 Hercules transports carrying the 1st Imperial Regiment, the 7th Imperial Regiment, the 3rd Imperial Siege Regiment, and the 1st Imperial Armoured Regiment began their journey to the capital city of Sandya, escorted by an armada of 6 F-14r Interceptor Squadrons.
Dentaran Imperial News Service Emergency Broadcast
WAR
Loyal peoples of Dentara, as of this moment, we are at war. Minutes ago, Fleet Admiral Constani of the Dentaran Imperial Navy transmitted the following message:
'By the executive order of our glorious leader, Emperor Aramius the 1st, the peoples of Dentara are formally at war with the Imperialist faction of the nation of Naasha. By the same token, we are now official allies with the United Nations of Naasha and Surdun. Minutes ago, an assault group, the Dentaran 4th Imperial Paratroop Regiment, deployed deep behind enemy lines to take control of the Sandya Imperialist-held Airbase.'
In accordance with Imperial Code Delta-Tango-Niner, all conscription offices have been staffed, although at the moment, conscription has been deemed unnecessary for this action.
As always, we will stand by and support our glorious leader, Emperor Aramius the 1st, long may he reign. And remember my fellow Dentarans... One Nation; One Leader; One Goal. Peace Through Power!
END BROADCAST
OOC: It may have seemed a bit quick for an airbase takeover, but I took a few things into account. 1) The majority of Imperialist military power is at Naash. 2) There wouldn't be too many troops guarding the place, as they'd all be off fighting the UNNS at the front line. 3) Having 2,000 pumped up, hyped up, well-trained assault troops land in your base with very nasty intentions would be pretty bloody effective.
OOC: That's fine, bear in mind that things will get much, much tougher as you had into the capital, the idea is for you to draw enough of the enemy forces away from Naash and the frontlines to allow the others to make a breakthrough. Vogrost is in UNNS hands, it held it's own rebellions after the Imperials shot a twelve year old.
Naasha's SAM defences across the north of the country were brought crashing down by the far more sophisticated measures used by the Dentaran aircraft. The few guards stationed at the airport were quickly overwhelmed by the vast Dentaran forces deployed, only a few pockets of resistance opened up in the bunker complex, but even they were dispersed with relative ease.
In around an hour, the Dentarans had secured the airstrip, with the only operational Imperial air forces now stationed at Naash and with their own problems to deal with, there was going to be no way to stop the enemy reinforcements.
The Imperial 4th Infantry were deployed to the city outskirts in a bid to slow the enemy advance into the city while citizens could flee and reinforcements could be brought up. Without much time, they turfed the groggy residents of the district out of their homes, which were quickly assesed for fields of fire. There was little time for any fortifications to be made.
*********************************************************
Lenrov smiled widely when he heard the news, although they ahd jumped the gun, the Dentarans had secured the airbase. It was time for the other two forces to mobilise. Calling to his lieutenant, he had the man pen down a quick message to the two nations.
To: Sterotops Military Command, Ezaltia Military Command.
CC: Dentara Military Command
From: UNNS High Command
Topic: Deployment
As you probably have gathered, the Dentaran paratroops have begun the first assault. The time for the main attack is now. Ezaltia, you may use the docks at Vogrost to unload your armoured vehicles and personnel, the attack will be scheduled for 0800.
Sterotopsian forces will begin amphibious assault at 0700, resistance is expected to be minimal, but be prepared for a fight. Due to the five different forces involved in this engagement, each force will be assigned a colour. Each target must be confirmed as hostile before it can be engaged, and coalition forces MUST display an armband of their nation's colour so as to minimise the risk of a friendly fire incident.
UNNS and UNNS controlled army units will use yellow.
Dentaran forces are to use a (bright) green.
Ezaltian forces will use red as their colour.
Sterotopsian forces are required to use blue.
Imperialist forces can be identified by their Imperial Black uniforms and colour schemes, this also applies to vehicles, but in the case of vehicles it will be important to thoroughly identify, due to captured Naashan vehicles in UNNS employ.
As such, (hostile) Imperial forces will be coded as black.

AT-1 Broadcast Over Naasha
Imperialist forces, your battle is lost. A coalition of governments is assisting the UNNS. You will not be able to defeat them. By continuing your resistance, you will only be laying down your lives for a government that no longer exists. Why sacrifices your lives for a defeated government, which never care about you in the first place?
We encourage Imperialist forces everywhere to lay down their arms and go home and protect your families. There is no shame in admitting defeat. You fought bravely, but the writing is on the wall. It is time to go home.
OOC: This message will be followed by more pamphlet drops.
Clandonia Prime
31-10-2006, 20:28
The Clandonian government pondered as the failed state of Naasha attracted so much attention to the world. The Clandonians worried as the UNNS were attracted more by the Ackistanis, perhaps in the future they would be filled with hatred for Clandonia fed on Ackistani lies.
Plans were made incase they stepped out of line in any of Clandonias actions....
"Dam thing! Can't we shoot it down?"
"Afraid not sir, that transmitter is Ackistani, and we don't want to risk provoking them."
"I guess, what do the troops think of the message?"
"They think it's rubbish sir, all of the rebel sympathisers have already left the ranks, and no Naashan well ever stand down on another nation's orders, I think they have misplayed their hand sir."
Terenga grinned.
"Excellent, see that morale is kept high, authorise the 1st Armoured Division to move from Keyremar to Sandya, we'll keep the other armour in reserve, we don't really have enough."
As the last of the troops and armoured vehicles formed up in the Airbase, the order was given. Moving quickly, the Dentaran 1st & 7th Imperial Regiments, supported by the Dentaran 1st Imperial Armoured Regiment and the Dentaran 3rd Imperial Siege Regiment, deployed and began the advance to Sandya, with all the troops wearing green identification bands and the vehicles sporting a band of green paint around them.
The first line of Naashan defences were set up along the road into town from the airport, a series of barricades across the wide but empty street, lined with shops and cafes. Few troops were stationed at the lines of sandbags and barbed wire themselves, but both machine gun and anti-tank teams had deployed in the upper stories of buildings on either side of the street, they would engage as the enemy approached.
In the city itself, one of the parks had been transformed into a helicopter station, and from it two NA-3 attack helicopters were lazily drifting up into the sky, ready to go tankbusting. If the enemy had concentrated their armour along the road then they would make for great strafing targets.
***********************************************************
Southern Naasha
A small scale artillery barrage began on the city of Naash, UNNS field guns deployed in a small range of hills near the town were being put into effect, although the damage caused was questionable.
UNNS forces, wearing their yellow armbands, were preparing for the initial attack behind these hills. They had a lot of ground to clear, and only limited resources, but they only had to keep the Imperialists busy while the larger forces across the nation did their work.
Lieutenant Andrew Copperfield helped one of his men strap on their red armband as the platoon prepared to move out. Next to them were the massive Behemoth III tanks, along with the smaller Challenger 2s. A squad of red-striped M3 Bradley APCs stopped in front of the infantry, and they all clambered onboard. Behind them were AS90 artillery peices, who would begin shelling Forstvir once they were in range. Above them, the AC-130 Spectre gunships circled lazily, ready to follow once the army got moving.
"Sir, our observers report a huge armoured convoy headed inbound from Vogrost! Looks to be Ezaltian, from the intelligence we compiled on that nation."
"Do these nations ever get tired of attacking us in places we don't expect? Very well, the UNNS threat to the south of Forstvir seems to have dissapated, so move most of the defenders north to counter the new threat."
"Yes sir, but these are tanks, we're going to need something substantial to stop them sir."
"I know that, have the infantry slow their advance, you know, ambushes, mines and the like, and we'll see about throwing up some proper defences around Forstvir."
"Sir, the enemy are only about four hours away..."
"Then just do it fast, lieutenant."
The artillery opened fire 25 kilometers away from Forstvir, and the AC-130s roared on ahead to pummel the defenses. The tanks and APCs advanced, praying that the enemy had few anti-armor emplacements. The APCs did, anyway. The Behemoth crews just laughed, knowing that barely anything could penetrate their heavy armor.
Swooping in at high speed, a trio of F/A-18 Hornets buzzed over the Dentaran forces that had reached the front lines of the Imperialist defences. Firing their complement of AGMs, the wingmen broke off, arming their AA missiles and scanning for targets, while the leader opened fire with two attached 30mm machinegun pods and two Hellfire Rocket Pods, strafing straight down the street, beating up the Imperialist defensive lines, before breaking off, climbing out...and blowing up spectacularly as a ground AA missile surprised it. Following the F/A-18s were two pairs of UH-60 Blackhawks loaded with Ghost special forces, ordered to secure the building to try and cover the advancing forces.
By this point, the 1st Imperial Regiment was heavily engaged, being fired down upon by machine-gunners from the buildings on either side of the street. Within minutes, a stalemate had formed, as the Ghosts tried desperately to clear out the buildings and the Imperial Troopers tried to continue the advance.

A1: Roger that, good timing the rest of your attack force has arived the plan has changed going in all at once then followed by the heavy armor you need to secure the beach before we can go in
Breaker: Roger that alpha one
PA: Begin cruise missle attack!
Sudnley loads of missles started to fly off the ships
OOC: Ill end now to let you lot RP the results of my intatial attack
The Naashan defences around the capital had come under attack now. A lucky bomb hit had all but destroyed the impromptu barricade, although untracked vehicles might find the debris a bit difficult to cross.
Machine guns were firing from windows on both sides of the street, so long as both sides kept the base of the opposite building secure then they could hold out indefinately, or so they thought.
The first team of Ghosts landed on the roof of the suburban house, flat roofed like many Naashan buildings. The defenders hadn't even heard their entrance, so overwhelmed with the chatter of their weaponry, and were thus very surprised when automatic fire swept the room. The first defensive position had fallen, and with no cover for the lower part of the street opposite, Dentaran soldiers managed to get in through the front door of the opposite house and neutralise it's Imperialist occupants.
Further up the street though, the Naashans had established stronger positions, a church dominated an intersection, and a combination of machine gun fire and haphazard sniping was keeping the road clear. Nearby, the rooftop of a public library had been fortified with several machine guns, a Starstreak AA launcher and a Javelin anti tank crew. The Starstreak had already claimed a lucky kill of a strafing enemy fighter who hadn't seen them, at the range they were at, a miss was almost impossible.
Ezaltian artillery barrages had swept the city, which fortunately had been mostly evacuated. The defenders often found themselves trapped under collapsing buildings, but the rubble left behind would make for good defensive positions.
Concealing a few Javelin anti-tank missiles in the more than ample cover, they could do little more than wait with bated breath, there was little chance of reinforcement.
The majority of the Sterotops fighters would unfortunately find little for them to target along the beach, although a few military checkpoints were bombed into the ground. Cruise missiles ranging a little further inland were lucky enough to strike a company of Conscripts who were moving forward to the beach, the resultant casualties forcing the company to withdraw.
A small Naashan coastal patrol vessel was surprised by the waves of aircraft, and hit by rockets before the crew could man it's single AA emplacement.
Damage was relatively limited, but this was because there was very little to hit, however the Sterotops bombers had won a morale victory at least, and Naashan troops would be thinking twice about trying to contest the landings now.
Colonel Lloyd Bronsworth was standing with his head and shoulders exposed, trying to get a better view of the Behemoth III's surroundings. Behemoths, Challengers, Bradleys, and Humvees all followed the huge tank. They were in the outskirts of Forstvir, and the infantry was now on foot, their G36 assault rifles at the ready. Still, nobody had yet fired a shot.
A head popped up from behind a pile of rubble, and quickly ducked from a torrent of machine-gun fire. The tanks then cut loose onto the pile of rubble, hoping that they would kill a few Imperialists.

OOC: It was ment to be moral boosting for my forces and moral lowering for yours so it worked :p
On board the HMS Breaker
'Ladys and gentlement it is time to attack we have done enough bombing for the time being, all forces beinging getting into your attack boats!'
All the men and women got into difrent things, manily hovercrafts then started heading towards Morgur
As they got close they came underfire from small arms fire and the ocasinol missle
OOC: Ok im stoping now to let you RP me comming in
"Get down soldier!"
The cry came too late for the inexperienced man, who was cut too pieces by the machine gun fire, to make matters worse, the tank shells had exposed one of the ambush teams, who were wiped out in seconds.
The rest of the Naashans huddled further down into cover, while above them on the rooftops a few LAW and Starstreak teams moved quietly into position. Just like in Sandya, they were going to make this as difficult as possible.
The whining of the hovercraft was what alerted the Naashan defenders who had scrambled back into position after the air strikes had ended. Many sets of eyes squinted out to sea to catch a glimpse of the enemy, and the lone crack of a rifle sounded from further up the beach, where a sniper had found a shot.
Then, suddenly, the enemy were in sight, the defenders waited patiently still until they came into range, and then opened up on the craft with machine gun and rifle fire. A few LAW weapons were also deployed, although the mostly unguided rockets were useless until the enemy came closer.
It was quiet again. Too quiet, Lieutenant Copperfield thought, his G-36 held at the ready. A door opened a block away, and the entire platoon trained their guns on it. They frowned and muttered under their breath when a small dog scampered out and relieved itself on one of the Behemoths.
The shadows were getting longer, and they now fell halfway into the street. Out of the corner of his eye, Copperfield saw a figure scamper along a rooftop. He whirled around, looking to the top of the building, where a black-clad Imperial soldier stood, his anti-tank launcher trained on a Challenger 2.
Dentaran troops had secured the first buildings in the area, and had worked out the strategy of the Naashan Imperialist forces: take cover in the buildings and hold off the assault as long as possible. Technically, an excellent plan, but with inherent weaknesses.
Having set up four kilometres from the area of First Contact, the Dentaran 3rd Imperial Siege Regiment had finished deploying their heaviest artillery, the massive triple barrelled 182mm 'Annihilator' Artillery sections. Having spent a few minutes getting precise coordinates on the Naashan strongpoint centered around the Church at a crucial chokepoint, the cannons, supported by smaller but nonetheless deadly 'Thunder' 126mm SPGs, released a massive one shot apiece barrage, sending 92 High Explosive rounds screaming in, smashing into the area around the Church, with several rounds actually hitting the structure directly. This was followed by a thunderous barrage of MLRS missiles loaded with fragmentation charges. By the end of the barrage, there was not a single intact window, doorway or, with a few exceptions, wall in the area. Then the assault began, as an M3 Bradley APC rounded the corner slightly and fired a Stinger TOW missile into the pinnacle of the Church tower, before opening fire with the 25mm machinegun in the turret.

From: Ackistani State Department
Greetings from the Republic of Ackistan!
Since the arrival of your new allies, it would seem your liberation movement has grown in strength to the point our assistance is no longer required. We have a bit of a crisis of our own, so we will be redeploying our 2nd Carrier Strike Group to the Tyrrhenian Sea. It will remain within range to provide you with air support, but response times will be longer. Should your situation change, we will assume a more active role in assisting you once again.
AT-1 and its escorts will continue to remain at your disposal.
Best wishes,
Angelina Whittaker
Secretary of State
The trooper stood and trained the rocket's sights on the nearest Ezaltian tank, a Challenger 2. He squeezed the trigger, while bracing against the recoil, and watched as the projectile screamed away in the direction of the enemy tank.
Across the street a machine gun team opened fire, trying to catch the Ezaltian infantry while they were in the open.
The church was ripped to pieces by the bombardment, the troops manning the tower found themselves plummeting several stories to the ground after it began to collapse. The infantry who still lay in wait in the graveyard surrounding the structure opened fire on the Dentarans, with aid from the well positioned forces on top of the library they were in a good position to make the enemy pay for every step they took.
At the command of the ground commander, two NA-3 attack helicopters, complete with cannon and rocket pods began to make their way toward the Dentaran armour, hoping to delay the enemy infantry's support, and thus making their losses even higher.
The Challenger exploded, sending fire and shrapnel everywhere. The foot soldiers were taken totally be surprise by the machine gun, and many were cut down before they found cover. Colonel Bronsworth ducked back inside his Behemoth as the colossal tank advanced, firing a pair of high-explosive rounds at the MG nest.
The Imperialists were firing from the rooftops, too, at both tanks and foot soldiers. Two more Challengers were down, and thrity soldiers dead.

OOC: Sorry been busy for the last 2 days
As they got closer they began to open fire with the heavy machine guns that were located on top of the hovercrafts.
One of the hovercrafts was having difuctlty as it had been hit by a sniper, but as it was so close it did not matter.
As they hit the beach they all disembarked and started running towards the defenders with their guns at the ready.
'Open fire!'
suddnely a very loud noise was heard, that was all their guns opening fire on the many targets all at once
