The holo screens set up across the several cities of Bekhaera began showing the same image, the image of the emperor, Bekha Khath XII
The streets of the cities were filled, people watched from balconies and on the roads below, what had cause the people to gather in the streets, millions upon millions had gathered to hear the words of the emperor even in the colonies in space the people amassed in streets and in their homes to watch the emperor's announcement
The emperor was a spritely chap, 65 years old and didnt look a day over 30, his medium length black hair catching the light, his ice blue eyes soothing, he would need to calm many millions of his people today
"My liege, the people await your word, shall I start the feed to the screens and the colonies?" asked a small unusual looking man, his face human but with slight differences, his eyes almost reptilian, they gave off a weird devil look but his voice was calming and forceful, a weird man he was by the name of Alexandre Toyoka, the advisor and natural heir to a Bekhaeran legend
The emperor looked out from his palace in the city of Bekha Vale, he sighed
"Who'd have ever though this would happen, but how..so man lives lost and for what, I dont know what to say... I just dont know"
"Sir we're live in 3..2..1..." a voice from behind the camera said
The emperor took a deep breathe and began to speak
"People of the Holy Empire of Bekhaera. I emperor Bekha Maximillian Khath the twelfth today must reveal to you a great tragedy of our people, many of you will be shocked and for those who suspected the rumours were true... two centuries ago when we first began strengthening our empire and creating new colonies we entered a civil war against our own people and through war we restored peace but the conflict continued on for many years in a distant colony we had long forgotten.. there many lives were lost and taken from innocents, millions slaughtered under the name of freedom, we were not entirely without blame ourselves, it was because of us the war was started because of our ignorance and now we must reveal to the world thereults of our ignorance... the planet Bekha Centauri, there our eyes could not see the acts committed and now..now the colony has risen up in arms against us, each time we attempt to quell them they get stronger and the thinsg I have seen them do makes me wonder if we could be next, more nations turn against us for the actiosn of my father, and we are alone and helpless in this universe..their numbers double opurs and we do not know how"
The emperor paused for breathe, he had just lifted a dark secret off his shoulders before taking another breateh and carrying on,
"We are at war once more & I cannot guarantee the survival of our empire.. we are adrift..we must fight to keep the empire strong and to keep our nation powerful, there is so much more for us to do...we cannot let this be the end, so as of now any able bodied man between the ages of 17 to 45 has been drafted into the Bekhaeran High Guard... this is a war we must win"
