As the Amphibious Task Force sailed for home, it would be passing close to Africa. And the Netherlands Government had set its sight on some nice land, that was once part of the Republic. If, the world wanted to play the imperialist game, then the Netherlands would play it better. The various conflicts over the past year had destabilize the Africa continent, the perfect time to slip in and acquire some land for itself. Besides, who wasn't to say they weren't better off under the wing of the Netherlands.
As Commander of the fleet, Admiral P.J. Bindt received his orders, though he had already prepared a nice speech to congratulate the troops on a job well done, it would now seem that the speech would have to wait.
As he step onto deck where all the troops had assembled per his orders he made the following speech. "Men, I know your tired and want to get back to your families, friends and lovers. However, R&R will have to wait. I promise you, once this final mission is completed you will all have earned the right to go home for a extended rest period you have my word on that. So, I know you'll do your duty as soldiers. Gear up and lock and load! Will be hitting the beaches soon, joining us will be the 2nd and 3rd Amphibious Task Forces coming from Spain. They will be carrying the Vasco da Gama "Huzaren" Armored Division, La Reina Special Forces Battalion and the Isabél la Católica Marine Battalion. The enemy won't know what hit him. Dismiss!"
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
With the arrival of the fleet in the Gulf of Guinea, the order was given. The invasion of Equatorial Guinea and Gabon was on.
The Almogàvers and Don Juan de Austria Marine Battalions, would assault Bioko Island. They two Marine Battalions would be assisted by a company from the La Reina Special Forces Battalion.
The rest of the forces would land in the Estuaire Province of Gabon, from their the armored forces would spread out.
The entire operation would take place all at the same time.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Within, hours the Capitals of Equatorial Guinea(Malabo) and Gabon(Libreville) had been captured. The same forces the two countries can field even combined were no match for the strength or firepower of the Royal Forces. Caught completely unprepared, it wasn't long before the entire Bioko Norte Province was in the hands of the Royal Forces. If current progress was any idea of the future of this operation, it would soon be over and two new democratic governments would be in place. Not, just democratic but, a government that would actually care for its people and provide them the basic needs of life including running water, electricity and other services of the modern world which these people had lived for so long without.
A New World was in the making!

OOC: Hey, you cannot hurry so fast! Yes they're small countries, but I cannot accept invading two capitals in one single post. You must RP your navy's way to their goal, and give time to other players to answer to your moves.
There's no way you can capture a capital just outside my coastline (distance around 100 km) without my navy doing anything. And we will probably see your fleet sailing through the Gibraltar Strait too, if they set of in the Mediterranean.
This is one of my primary coastlines, and it's pretty well defended.
I'll come up with an IC-reply later...

OCC: About the Capitals, they both sit right off the coast and I mean right off. Which is how I captured them so fast, I did the same thing in South America. Most of the fleet was coming from the opposite direction (remember I said they were returning home from their operation in South America and they said hey were here lets go have some more fun), so I could in fact catch your Navy off guard. Your Navy can’t be everywhere at once and I could have taken steps to avoid any contact with any other ships. Besides 100 km is still pretty far away and it’s not like I’m sitting right off your coast a mile or two away. I'm not sure the exact distance Bioko Island is from Nigeria but, using a rough guess it's about 60 or so miles while its only 40 kilometers (25 mi.) from Cameroon.
The other part of the fleet departed from Northern Spain and central Portugal. Travel time for both Task Forces was about 6-8 days depending on a number of factors. As for RP my Navy getting their I did that, I just started the attack and arrival of the Navy in the same post. But, don't worry I'm not going to add any more till Monday to give anyone who wants to respond a few days to do so. If, by Monday no one has replied then I'll continue.
Here's a link about the two Capital I invaded to show you I'm not lying about them being on the coast. Remember, also I directed almost all my forces at those two points and that's it.
Capital of Equatorial Guinea (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Malabo) and Capital of Gabon (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Libreville).
If, you have any other concerns I be glad to address them.

The Lagos fleet from Cape Verde Islands returned home to Nigeria, and immediately was redirected to attack Iberian Netherlands forces on and outside Bioko Island. Before they arrived, many ships and planes left from the bases in southeast Nigeria. Their missions are to liberate the Bioko Island from the enemy troops of Iberian Netherlands.
Lavi jets took of from the airport and headed southwards. Their cargo was as usual Nimrod and Python 5 missiles. They're having orders to open fire against military vessels and ground units belonging to United Netherlands.
Message to the government of Equatorial Guinea

Message to the government of Iberian Netherlands
We have noticed your evil invasion of the two independent countries of Equatorial Guinea and Gabon. We cannot tolerate this, as this is unbalancing the calm situation on the African continent. We urge you to immediately stop your invasion and withdraw your troops from both Equatorial Guinea and Gabon.
We're having a large military force on their way to Bioko Island, and they're having orders to open fire against every single ship, plane and troop belonging to Iberian Netherlands.
If you don't immediately withdraw your forces, and agree to pay for all the damage you've made, we will declare war on the nation of Iberian Netherlands as the first missile is fired towards your forces.

OCC: You are aware that I captured the seat of government of both those countries in my opening moves, right? So, you sent that message about helping Equatorial Guinea to me. If, your ok with that I am. And here is my reply.
IC:
To King Gustaf XXI, me and my government are sorry for not informing you beforehand of our intentions. Due to the rising tensions in South America, my government has been reluctant to inform other nations of where our fleets and troops are going. This is not an invasion force, I say again this is not an invasion force. We will not attack your nation in anyway. The governments of Gabon and Equatorial Guinea have killed their own citizens and keep them poor. We intended to fix that and return the power back to the people and bring them wonders of the modern world they can only dream of. Cheap electricity, free healthcare, running water- a massive transit system that will connect all parts of Africa for the free moment of goods and people.
Africa has been far from calm, thousands of people have been displaced and yet the majority of the people in those countries remain poor. Why, I ask you? Is democracy a thing to be feared, no Democracy should be embraced so that all nations and all races my have the same rights. Are only intention is to bring Democracy to these people the best way we know how. By, throwing off the old regime and starting refreshed.
I do not understand why you plan on attacking us, we have no hostile intent towards you nor your people. We only want to help. To withdraw now, would cause more harm then good. We have already told these people were here to help them and if they need anything not to be afraid to ask. (OCC: Both countries speak the native languages of my countries. Spanish and French- so communication is pretty easy.)
My government does agree to pay for any damage our forces cause, in fact I plan to pay to bring these people into the modern world.
I say again, we have no hostile intent towards your people, but we will defend ourselves if attacked.
Peace and Stability is our only intention.

Thats probably not what these countries want. i believe your spain had a little tea party called the Inquisition as i have had a minor social problem called Apartheid in my Earth V nation...
what i am sayin is human atrocities happen all the time and like it or not benevolence is the opposite side of the human equilibruim of Good and Evil. This is just a pretext for territorial gain. Now I wouldnt be so contentious with your Invasion if was anywhere but Africa but i believe you have too many African territories considering your government is half way across the world.
IC. After much deliberation South Africa has cut all diplomatic affairs with the United Netherlands and has transferred the Iberian ambassador and his staff to the nearest convienient Iberian netherlands location which is the colony of Madagascar.
we will sever all trade links with your nation and have put the nation to defcon 3 (medium alert) Incase your ambitions extend beyond your legitimate borders again and Invade one of our territories...
Many Iberian soldiers will have widows for wives and orphans for children if you do Invade the Boer Republic.
we wish Kopperburgs all the best in repelling your Invasion and we will decide at a later date whether to get Involved militarily or not...
Thank you and good day...

Message to The Iberian Netherlands
We have declared the Iberian ambassador in Tel-Aviv Persona non grata. We want him to leave the Kingdom of Kopparbergs within the next 12 hours.
We will also give you a 12 hours respite to withdraw your troops from Equatorial Guinea. This is only because we had good relations with Iberian Netherlands before this incident, and we would like to keep it that way.
We do not feel comfortable with hostile EATO troops in such close proximity to our most dense population area, and more important, to our most important oil fields.

Good Friend
I am diverting a division of the 4th African battlegroup (About 20,000 fighting men) to assist you in any operations you may undertake. We also offer you our airbases around Kinsasha to use against the enemy Imperialistic force.
Our navy is currently sailing to Provideniya, and will not be available to assist. Unfortunately, we can only offer you the lone division at the moment. We will be drawing up reservist Divisions in the comming week to further aid your cause.
Also, we feel it prudent to note that the Empire has been sanctioned by the PAC to occupy the regions in question at a later date, and we hope to share the luxury of governing these nations with your forces in the future.

ooc: EDIT:
4th Battlegroup Africa - General Oluwasegun Nthanda 62,500 Fighting men
13th African Infantry - Lt. General Nsonowa 20840 Fighting men (RWANDA INVASION FORCE)

OCC: I'll get to all your posts later but, I wanted to address the point you brought up Kopparbergs. Your right, there are very few player conflicts and I hope you would see why. Every war that will break out will become a dog pile.
See this RP as an example- Everyone is allied with everyone else. So, when if any wars breaks out it will become a world war. You, Persecution and Hatred and Vineyard are all plan on attacking me. 3 to 1 odds are not good so, to defend myself I would have to call on my allies and you would do the same and before you know it the whole world is at war. That would be a major headache in my opinion, but if you all want to go that route I'll give it a go. But, I thought I suggest me and you (Kopparbergs) have just a little regional war. If, you want to have a war. Using real life as an example, when Argentina invaded the Falklands, you didn't have every neighbor around Argentina up and suddenly declare war on them. So, if you all are about to attack me (declare war, I would like an good IC reason instead of- I declare war on you because I think your imperialists. That's all I ask). One final note, my total forces in the area are less then 20,000- Vineyard alone is sending 20,000 after me. Little overkill don't you think, also- how exactly does he/you plan to get those forces to attack me. I share no borders with any of your countries and as of right now I have Air and Naval Superiority. Which is the only way you'll be able to attack me, in the African region anyway.
I agree it will be fun and I look forward to the outcome, whatever it is.
Sorry for the long post I had a lot to say, I'll reply to all your posts when I get a chance. Let me know what you all decide.

ooc: I know the feeling UE
You just have to remember that there are 2 realities. The first is how many nations support whom. The second reality is how many troops each nation commits to a conflict. In this case, I can only commit 20,000.
Allow me to digress. I find that fighting against the odds in a player-on-player conflict is not only challenging, but fun! You can come up with clever tactics to defeat and disorganize the enemy. For example: South East Russia. The Empire of Vineyard against Mauiwowee, Warta Endor, Charina, and the assorted nations of FOAM. Although i eventually cut my losses and surrendered South east Russia, I had a lot of fun doing so. For instance, Warta Endor's troops were the first i encountered. As he landed on the long island of Skhalin, I rigged the city infastructure with explosives, including the buildings. As he landed, i fled the Island, setting up 'gradual retreat defence positions' between the Coast and the Irkutsk inland Peninsula, where I made my final stand. Anyhow, when his troops entered the cities, i detonated them, inflicting tens of thousands of casuilties. And as FOAM forces marched on Irkutsk, My troops ran from position to position, gradually fallinbg back while fighting, letting the combination of Attrition, gun fire, mines, and boobytraps take their toll. In the end, they won a Pyrrhic victory.
Another example can be perhaps drawn from The French Civil War. The Revolutionaries had cornered a Royal French Army in Toulon, an important French port. The Royal French had called on their allies for reinforcements, amungst which Peidmont, Spain, England, and Austria replied, promising to send troops. Peidmont sent light infantry, Spain and England sent Heavy infantry, and Austria never sent a single soldier to the conflict, despite their promise. The English and Spainish refused to fight side-by-side, leaving the light infantry forces of peidmont and Royalist France to fill and hold the center of any battle line. needless to say, despite the odds looking unfavorably towards the Revolutionaries, they conscripted a young corsican artillary captain to form an artillary division in the revolutionary army, and to lead their attacks. The Captain's name was Napoleon.
Not only this, but you have to face the consequences of your actions its not a "Good guy - bad guy" thing, it is international relations and politics.

Wailing sirens sounded accross every city and countryside in North Western Italy as the TO's were called to arms. Alpine TO units occupied the newly constructed and renewed extensive fortifications on the border, spreading out to form a thin line until further units could arrive. -Imperial Palace-
Outside the offices of every Minister, General, and the Regent himself stood two Military poliece, as European-war protocal calls for. Everyone in the building did not leave the office unless accompanied by one MP, for their personal saftey.
Regent Windsor was to be found in his office, watching a hologram of Italy with flags representing individual TO and MP units on the move, giving him live-feed. His head was hi his hands as he stared blankly at the screen. The 31st, 32ed, 33ed, and 34th TO units based out of Genoa Were inching towards the Alps, obviously in some sort of traffic jam. Only the 24th, 61st, 78th, and 45th TO units were on the front, representing obscure Farming and Town communities throughout the area, had managed to reach the border so far. The Border guards had retreated from their posts to man the fortifications, despite the fact that there were only about 2,000 of them on the French-Italian border.
Regent Windsor eyed a gold-plated pistol on his desk. He should be out there in case they attacked. He could rally the TOs in case they broke and fled, he can give confidence to his troops, and msot importantly, he could command the defences there, instead of some regional Mayor, or poliece cheif doing so! he sighed. it happened all of a sudden, without warning. Satilite Intel told him that military command was moving on Africa, and that the war may extend to Europe. His spies in France even failed to report anything before it happened. Damn him and macedonia. Why did he sent the 3ed to the macedonian front, whe so much else was going on! He shoudl have let the 3ed rest, seeing how the cement in the Alps was barely dry from the recent construction projects!
He looked down at a piece of paper. Maj. General Zora, the first female General of the Empire, and Generao of the Regional Defence of Bosnia. Seeing how Italy lacked a regional defence general... He grinned. What better a way to test the Empire's First female general?
He picked up a telphone and called the Bosnian Regional Defence HQ, based inside an undisclosed mountain on the coast. After a breif telephone conversation, he hung up. Zora's 'test' was perhaps under a situation too grave, but he needed SOMEONE to hold the front for 3 days! She was granted an Osprey to take her to the alpine region, escorted by 2 Bosnian Eurofighters.

The military buildup in the Gulf of Guinea continues. The Sea Corps (Navy) together with the Air Force has the responsibility to defend all Nigerian oil fields in the Gulf of Guinea. They have orders to open fire against every hostile military vessel entering Kopparbergs national waters.
The navy has not landed at Bioko Island, they stopped 30 km from the island. The Air Force is in the air 24/7, making patrols over the oilfields, and towards Bioko Island (but they're not flying over the island).
Order to the Sea Corps and the Air Force currently in the Gulf of Guinea
Do not let any foreign military or civilian vessel or airplane enter Kopparbergs national territory. You have permission to open fire inside our territorial borders.
Patrol the area extending towards Bioko Island. Do not come closer than 20 km. Airplanes should patrol the skies towards Bioko Island, and towards the territorial waters of Cameroon. Do not fly over the island.

I hope you withdraw this BattleGroup and your fleet back to Nigeria. As, that was part of the deal. You know all forces stand down. And I know it doesn't look that far on the map, but the Island is actually quite some distance. Using a rough guide (map and a ruler) I got a distance of around 75 miles. That's from the Mainland of Island to the closest point of land in Nigeria. Your base in Lagos is much much further. 442 miles to be exact. So, depending on the speed of your ships and the tide, it would of taken your fleet about a good day or two to get there. That is, if I wouldn't had attack that hostile force. Which I would have had it gotten to say within 20-40 milies or about an few hours away.
Source (http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/distances.html?n=699)
And I hope you don't plan on landing hostile forces with me stuck in the middle, that would be bad. :(

Once, you address those issues, I'll RP my troops withdrawing. If, you could also get to me on the issue of using your airspace. I'm also sending a small convoy to deliver supplies (food, medical so on) and return with the troops. I've made this public.

-4ed Battlegroup, Congo-
Udo treated himself to a fine Angolain Cigar. This was going to be one hell of an event. The division was well into the stte of Congo, enroute to the troubled regions recently attacked by UE. Although a peace was underway, they had been rodered to 'keep the peace' and to 'ensure the stability of their neighbors'. Simply put: Absorb the bastards. Udo's division had been Redirected to Brazzaville, to force the surrender of the Republic at gun point. Al Capone's words echoed through his mind "You can get more with a kind word and a gun, than with just a kind word.." He smiled.
As he ascended the Steps to the Presidential Residence in Brazzaville, his soldiers solmnly followed him. Behind him, throughout the wide street, his soldiers stood in formation. He plucked the Cigar from his mouth and looked at it. Throughout the past week they had occupied Brazzaville, suprisingly with cooperative Poliece and Military of the Republic of Congo. He sure hoped this would not turn bloody.
He poped the cigar back to his mouth and looked up as he continued to walk up the steps. There, Denis Sassou Nguesso, the 'President' of the congo stood along with his entoroge. Behind him was a lengthy table, with both the Republic of Congo's Flags and the Empire's flag (Its the Croatian Flag) Displayed prominently at the center of the table. He reached the president.
The President bowed his head and squeexed his eyes shut. The opening them, he looked up. "You bastards, you are all bastards..."
Udo smiled. "Yea, I know." He gestured to the table, where 2 pieces of paper lay next to 2 rather expencive ball-poin pens. Both Udo and the President sat down together behind the table, facing the street filled with soldiers. Both his Entorouge and the president's had moved aside, allowing a small gathering of reporters and cameramen to watch. It was a historic event, and one of the first times the Empire had taken over a nation peacefully. Auctually, it was probably the first time ever.
Udo signed the Piece of paper at the bottom, and looked at the President who's pen hovered above the line. Tears welled in his eyes.
Udo coughed. The President came out of his dreemy-state and clenching his jaw, he signed the piece of paper. The Two men then exchanged pieces of paper, and signed them both again. The treaty was complete. Under the treaty the republic of Congo was to:
-Disband all armed forces.
-Armed Forces were to report to their barracks once they had turned in their arms, to await 'reassignment'.
-Declare itself a State of the Empire.
-All ministers were to retain their posts for a year, until Imperial-appointed ministries could replace them.
-All police forces were to remain in active duty while recieving re-training to meet Imperial Standards.
-The Imperial State was to nationalize all resources and industries, and evict all forign buisnesses and companies within 2 days. (Just their personnel, not their property.)
-They were to close all borders to everyone except to allies and the Empire (Of course..)
-The Presient was to resign.
-All political parties would be disbanded.
-Their constitution was to be revoked, and transfered to the Imperial historical museam in Zagreb, the Imperial Capital.
-All official legal documents were to be revoked and preserved for history. -All Imperial treaties and laws were to be ratified immediately.
-All citizens would have to report to their townhall or government center for catologing, counting, reassignment, and processing.

OCC: I'm making this bold and at the top so NO ONE MISSES THIS MESSAGE. This RP post will cover the events of my nation/government/forces leading from South Africa's declaration of war till the stand down. If, my time table is correct that covers a total of 3 days. If, this is wrong I will correct it. SO, THIS IS ALL HAPPENING IN THE PAST. REMEMBER THAT. I will do another post after this one to address the current issues. This post I'm going to divided into days.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Day 1: The Declaration of War
The suddenness of the South African Republic's declaration of war surprised almost everyone in the Kingdom except for one man. President Ravalomanana was not the least surprised over the reaction committed by the African Republic. Marc, had tried to warn the Netherlands Government but, they had they're head so far up their assess over their good intentions they choose to ignore his warnings. He had seen it coming after the rude treatment he was given at the conference, never in his life had he been so insulted. An insult he would not soon forget. The Netherlands had made their mess and now they were going to have to clean it up themselves. Hours later, President Ravalomanana declared his neutrality in the following conflict. He would support neither side. If, they wanted to fight it out, then so be it. To ensure, his people were left out of the conflict all Madagascan forces were called to duty.
Meanwhile, in Gabon and Equatorial Guinea the operation continued as planned. The entirety of Bioko was now completely under the control of the Royal Forces. Working with local governments those that weren't corrupt, food and water was handed out to all citizens. Make shift hospitals were set up to treat the inhabitants of Bioko island. Across the Gulf of Guinea in Gabon, the Estuaire province had been deemed secure enough for support forces to move in.
The matter of the Kopparbergs Forces were another problem that had caught the Iberian Netherlands Government off guard. With only a Marine Battalion on the Island in question, the Royal Forces would be hard pressed to defend themselves. As, such over the next day a Tank Battalion would be reassigned to the Island's Defense. A simple message was submitted to the Kopparbergs Government. "If any of your Forces approach within 20 km of the Island without proper authorized from us, they will be considered a hostile force and fired upon. We have noted you have issued no declaration of war against us yet send hostile forces our way. Do not think your lack of a declaration will protect your forces from attack. We will take all measures to ensure the safety of our troops and those of the civilians located on the Island. This is a simple Peacekeeping Operation and not an Invasion Force. Continue with your actions and it will turn into an Invasion Force, an invasion of your nation."
To insure the security of both the citizens and combat personnel. A constant Air Patrol was to be conducted. Air Defenses were put on High Alert.
The final matter the Netherlands Government had to deal with was. What was to happen with the Governments of Gabon and Equatorial Guinea. Most of the Top officials of both governments had been captured in the opening hours of the operation. As of right now, all were being held for questioning and for those guilty of war crimes being placed under arrest. Though Gabon had some corrupt officials most were loyal to their homeland and concern over the welfare of their people. In, time these people would be returned to their homes and issued a formal apology for being detained.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Day 2: The Build Up
With reports coming in from all over the world, intelligence had indicted the Vineyard Empire was on the march. Though the exact support they would offer to the Boer Republic was unknown, even limited support would still give the invading forces a 2 to 1 advantage plus that of whatever the Kingdom of Kopparbergs committed. Against such odds, their was little hope the Iberian Netherlands would be able to manage the Peacekeeping operation and defend it self from foreign attack. As such, the Netherlands Government began to put out peace feelers and prepared defensive positions in case the worst came to be.
Across the globe the build up of the war continue, with various members of the RSA supporting the swain that was the Vineyard Empire and the Boer Republic. Some good news was reported though, the 3rd Tank Battalion had been successful transferred to Bioko Island from Gabon. The rest of the division advance out from the Estuaire province into the surrounding provinces. The advance was to continue until elements of the Vasco da Gama Armored Division reached the Ogooué River. From there defensive positions would be set up with additional lines of defense set up for a fighting withdrawal back to Estuaire Province where the main defense would be held until the Royal Forces could be reinforced.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Day 3: The Stand Up/Stand Down
The turn of events by day three was, in what would become the famous words of a poet many years from now, of him describing the crisis that had unfolded in Middle West Africa. "The world had seem to enter a new period, a world gone insane, a world without hope."
What had turned into a simple Peacekeeping operation was turning into a massive world war. Military Command was preparing to invade Italy and the Vineyard Empire was preparing to invade France. The entire world had gone mad, with very few left to be the sole voice of reason. Though, the world had gone mad. There was still hope, the Kingdom of Kopparbergs had not crossed the 20km border set and though war had been declared the Boer Republic with his ally had showed restraint.
Meanwhile, in Gabon and Equatorial Guinea a change was happing. Whether this was to be a good change or a bad remain to be seen, but the news that their nation would be involved in the middle of the world was greeted with a mix of confusion and shock. By, the third day defensive positions had began to be establish and lines of retreat mapped out. Additional Forces were on their way, but travel time was not expected for at least 2 weeks. What forces could be spared would be flown in. Though reports were iffy if best and at worst inaccurate. Through its operatives on the ground, tracking of the enemies communications and other classified means. The Iberian Netherlands had reports that the main force that would launch the attack into the Congo then into Gabon and Equatorial Guinea would gather at the city of Kinshasa. The accuracy of these reports was unknown and like all reports of an unconfirmed nature were added to the pile for analysis by, comparing the report through other detectable means.
Till, then a conflict of crisis was developing inside the Netherlands Government. Those who said we should fight and those who said peace could still be obtain and still have the Peacekeeping mission be a success. By, a slim majority those in favor in peace won out. Though at the risk of some ending their careers. Not only was the world changing, so was the make up and thought process of the Netherlands Government. Whether this change was good or bad was for the moment unknown.
Declaring that it had made a mistake, it agree to the complete withdraw of all its forces in Gabon. Once all Royal Forces were evacuated from Gabon, the same process would follow in Equatorial Guinea. As, such with the stand down of all forces. A time table began to be drawn up for bringing the war warily troops home for a much needed rest. Following the completion of the withdraw, a new period of Isolation would start for the Iberian Netherlands. Only through analysis could it decide if the mission had been worth the cost or worst, the cost that would have resulted.

OCC: This Post will cover the events from the 4th day to the 3rd week up to the invasion of the Congo by Vineyard.
Week 1:
IC: With things settling down, the planned withdraw was set to begin by the end of the week, when the transport fleet arrived. Once, the supplies had been off loaded, the men/women and their equipment would board the transports and set sail for home, in this case Spain. The first unit to depart would be the Armored Division. To provide security and maintain law and order until a new freely elected government could come to power in Equatorial Guinea. 7,000 PMC's (Private Military Contractors) were hired and given various missions in Equatorial Guinea from handing out civil aid to retraining the next generation military of Equatorial Guinea. To easy supply problems and reduce the cost- most of the military equipment the Royal Forces had brought with them were turned over to what was left of the Equatorial Government and the various contractors in the field. Replacing the Marines jobs, would be the Prins Abert Meinrad Infantry "Support" Regiment. All combat operations should they arise were to be handled by the Contractors.
Week 2:
The arrival of the transports were a welcome sight, once the supplies were unloaded- the personnel would load onto the ships to begin the long journey back home. In, all about 2-3 round way trips would need to be made. The rest returning home vil air flight. Inside, Equatorial Guinea and Gabon things were beginning to look up. Electricity was almost again completely up and running. People were returning to work and life was for the most part beginning to take a hold again.
Week 3:
By the end of week three the first round of withdraws had been competed. Most of the Armored Division was safely back home. Through undisclosed means, the Netherlands Government and that of the Gabon government had come to an agreement and with these agreement peace was signed between the two governments. But, all was not peaceful- the invasion of the Republic of the Congo why not surprising, the war in its wake created problems for the Iberian Netherlands. Thousands of civilians were freeing from their country into Gabon. Pleading for the world to stop the invasion, its words falling on deaf ears- as a last resort the Gabon government turned to the last nation it could- the one that had invaded it. Informing the Gabon government that it's hands were tied at the moment it could not intervene in the war but, would provide what aid it could to the Gabon government short of military aid.
Week 4:
The chaos along the border between the Congo and Gabon was impossible to describe. Every day, thousands fled across the border to escape. Most were luckily to get away with their lives as reports were coming in of mass numbers of civilians being rounded up and never heard from again. It would seem as if a genocide was progressing on in Congo, though their were no confirmed reports. Working closely with the Gabon government, whole camps had been set up to house the influx of refugees. To ease the burden on the Gabon Government, those refugees able to provide some sort of ID were given free passage should they wish to anywhere in the Kingdom.
In the meantime, Equatorial Guinea was given "unofficially" Protectorate status by the Kingdom. Once, the official government of Equatorial Guinea was up and running that would changed to reflex the choice of the new nation. The options open to them were as follows-they could join the Kingdom, remain independent, or the various other options not yet considered. Whatever their choice was, The Netherlands's Government would honor their agreement and the Equatorial Government's decision.

-Congolese-Gabonese border-
Weird helicpoters deended from the clouds above and began to fly low, causing the mass of refugees on the road to duck down. Imamu, a soldier by trade, ducked low along with his bretheren. He, like many of the refugees, were amungst the shattered remanents of the Republic of Congo's army. He and his brothers in arms faced so many trials... so many...
-One week ago-
Imamu smiled, and thanked a farmer who handed him a yam before his truck passed on. A family of farmers had stopped by the road to hand out food to the soldiers, as they were going to the central barracks. Word had it that the Congolese Army had finally decided to fight the invaders, after woerking with them for an extended period of time.
His commander, a large strong-jawed man, adjusted his sunglases as he stood up in the truck. All along the convoy other commanders were doing the same.
"Now, I am supposed to give you a few words of encouragement. But I am a man of practicality, and of few words. Here is the situation: The Vineyardians have forced the president to sign the nation over to them. They have also ordered us to report to our central barracks--all of us. This is undoubtedly a trap. So we have planned accordingly. The commander tells me that we will unload a half mile before the abrracks, and attack whatever vineyardian forces are there. Now, i dont know about you. But I am willing to give democracy my all, even my life if need be."
A loud speaker sounded in the distance, and the trucks stopped. Their commander sat down and picke dup his gear. The truck in front of them were still hearing their commanders speech, and they all laughed as they geared up. The men jumped off, then traveled in small groups of men, roughly their platoons.
Imamu joged to catch up with his life-long friend, Adisa. "What were you guys laughing about?"
"Hmm? Oh, hey. Yea, the commander didn't give his required pep-talk as usual. just a bunch of damn good jokes." Adisa said with a chuckle.
"What was the joke?" Imamu said inquisitivly.
Adisa grinned. "Its no the kind you would like."
"Try me."
"Ok. What did Regent Windsor do after ea.."
"Your right. I dont want to know."
Adisa threw back his head and laughed. As he did so, a commander on horseback rode into their ranks, and basically flew from them saddle and onto the ground next to another commander. As the soldiers walked on, the commanders assembeled in the rear, talking hurredly with the exhausted commander. After a few moments, they all exchanged ashen looks, and ran to their men.
"GET DOWN! GET DOWN!"
As they said that, a barrage of gunfire erupted from a hedge just beyond. Men were cut down in swaths, and those who survived hit the marshy ground as instructed. The teucks on the path suddenly erupted in flames, and the ground was torn up around them. Imamu didn't have time to think. he just crawled away as fast as he could. He looked behind them. A line of screaming Imperial Soldiers was charging them, guns blazing and bayonetts fixed as the artillary stopped.
Imamu felt someone grab onto his ankle. Turning around, he saw Adisa holding onto his ankle.
"Surrender friend! We are goners!"
Imamu shook his head. "Screw that. Im no coward!" With that, he shook off Adisa's grip and continued on. He looked back after a few feet to wave Adisa to come with him, when he saw Adisa stand up. Adisa threw up his hands and started to scream "Dont shot! Dont Shoot!" A Vuineyardian soldier ran up to him, and his stomache open. Adisa crombled to the ground, feebly trying to hold his innards inside his stomache.
Imamu rolled on his back, turning up his AK-47. He yelled "NOOO!" as he shot at the Vineyardian. The Enemy soldier grasped at his throat as a bullet hit him there, then collapsed onto the ground kicking his legs while trying to breathe. Imamu rolled over and threw up. Fearing for his life, and without thinking, he just got up and ran like hell.
We woke up a day later, curled up in the corner of a barn. He ached all over, and couldn't move. He tried to recall the events of the night before, but his memory had faded into obscurity. After about an hour or two, he managed to get up. Using a stick as a crutch, he hobbled onto a covilian road, tossing aside hsi army cap and uniform, in favor of his undrershirt. Nothing he could do about the boots or pants. He would have to make do. Smearing mud over his mants to disguise them, he hobbled on for the rest of the day. North as far as he could tell. Just head north.
A few days later he staggered opon a major highway leading into Gabon What was before him amazed him. A congolermate of families, civilians, and soldiers trudged in one unamious direction towards Gabon. He watched people go by for a few minuted before joining the crowd. They walked for days on end.
-Today, the border-
Imamu picked himself up. No more running, no more sorrow. Now was the time to get these wicked, wicked bastards back. He picked up his AK-47 and fired. People screamed. A soldier riding one of the ospreys was hit, and dropepd his gun, which hit the earth. People scrambled for the gun, a young teen getting his hands on it, and firing at the Ospreys.
A man behind Imamu turned him around and looked into his face.
"You fool, you have killed us all! Now they have reason to attack us!"
Imamu looked up just in time to see a series of small black dots decend opon the refugees, firing missles and dropping boms. Typhoons strafed the crowd, and osprey's machine guns opened fire as troops were landed to their right. The entire crowd of people suddenlt started to stampede towards the border crossing, the elderly and small children being run-over by the panicked mob. Bullets, shrapnel, and explosions ripped through the unarmeda and the helpless. Imamu broke down in tears and turned his AK-47 on himself.
A single shot was heard.

OCC: Ok, with Kopps back this is back on. Vineyard, I loved your above post. You having Imamu kill himself. I think you really capture the confusion and heartache those people would be going through. One final thing, the Osprey has only One 12.7mm machine gun for self defense. It's main role is as a transport. I be interesting to hear what modifications you used to turn it into a attack aircraft. Something, it wasn't really designed for. I might just buy a few. :)
IC: With the invasion of the Congo passing into the 2nd and 3rd weeks and the operation in West Africa passing into the 5th and 6th weeks a lot had happen in that time. For one, the withdraw was placed on hold until a handle could be gotten on the influx of people flooding into the countries. By the 3rd week, the reports had been confirmed about the on goings in the Congo. However, the sadly and not the least surprised by the reports. If, Africans wanted to kill fellow Africans so be it. The Kingdom was no way required to come to the defense of the Congo. It's only commitments were to bring it's boys home and fixing the problems it created in Gabon and Equatorial Guinea.
Through a force of will all of its own, the borders between Gabon and the Congo had been brought under control. Through various checkpoints, those fleeing for their lives were admitted and then sent to a processing center. From their they could start their new lives in a wide variety of locations of their choosing. So, far no hostile action had been directed against the Gabon government. A worry on the minds of both the Kingdom and that of the Gabon government themselves. With the Royal Forces stuck in the middle between the two sides should the Vineyard forces refuse to stop at the border. Which with every growing day become more and more likely. It's fellow African nations having abounded it, the Gabon government was left with only one nation to turn to.
With the war still raging on in the Congo, the Kingdom and government of Gabon began first low level talks followed by high level. To ease the fear of the Gabon Government the following things were to be done by the Kingdom. All military equipment currently in Gabon would be turned over to the Gabon armed forces with new equipment shipped in to replace that which was turned over. The remaining Royal Forces units in Gabon were placed under control of the Gabon Army. With the mission going better then planed in Equatorial Guinea, around a thousand of the Private Military Contractors were redirected to Gabon to help retrain their army for the defense of their country. All actions were taken with the agreement with the Gabon government.
SIC:
During the talks between the Gabon government and that of the kingdom, the subject of a defensive alliance had be proposed by the Kingdom. A way of returning the favor for invading their country. So, that if any country ever invaded Gabon- the Kingdom would come to their aid. After over a week of hamming out the details, the following rules were settled on what the alliance would cover.
1. Should any nation or group attack the free nation of Gabon, The kingdom would send aid by whatever means possible and would dispatch whatever aid was available. Any and All types of aid such as money, food, weapons and personnel were cover.
2. The nation of Gabon is not required to come to the aid of the Kingdom in any form if it is attacked by any nation or group.
3. Both the Gabon and Kingdom may use each others bases for a stop over but, may not establish a permanent force at said base, unless otherwise agreed upon by both parties.
4. This agreement may be canceled at any time by either party.
The signing of this agreement was a major step for both parties. However, both knew this agreement would be interpreted as a justification for war. As such, any knowledge of this agreement was keep secret with only a select few people knowing of its existence.
In time, when things calmed down would the agreement be publicly announced by both governments. In the meantime it was business as usually along the border and making sure those fleeing for their lives could find a better life. Once things had settle down, besides the agreement being made public. The continuation of the withdraw would began again.

ooc: Yea. Despite my spelling errors and typos, I think I did a decent job too.
Anyhow, my Ospreys. When in plane mode, the entire aircraft is self contained. Sealed and pressurized. The plane mode itself has no real defences, besides a forward facing 12.7mm machine gun (Which can rotate to some degree). The helicopter 'mode' has, in addition to the 12.7 mm, two side pannels that can be brought back... or fold back... Think Huey... only much bigger... the soldiers being strapped in along a central 'wall' of the craft, from which they can fire; each side has a GAU-17A (7.62mm) allowing it to become a sort of mobile infantry attack platform as well as being one of the most versitile transport/attack craft. It can touch down, have its soldiers leap out, and take off within a matter of seconds. It can refuel in mid-air, like any other plane (so long it is not in helicopter form!) which allows the craft an incredible range, as long as a air tanker is in the area. Uhh, what else... The only real downside to these things are that they are sitting ducks to enemy fighter attack, especially if in their plane mode.
Ill make an IC post later.

OCC: Vineyard, if you want to post you IC annexation of the Congo in here, I'm fine with that. As I don't remember seeing you post it anywhere else. If no one has any complaints and doesn't invade me why still being there, I plan to finish this up soon.
IC: Though it had been a rushed job, the first signs of a new government in Equatorial Guinea had begun to emerge. The elections for a new President were not far off. The training of a new national army, navy, and air force were well on their way. Though the operation had started out badly, it was ending on a high note. It had been all quiet the last few months expect for the confusion caused by the invasion of the Congo by the Vineyard Empire.
Tens of thousands had fled their homes, livelihoods and family to get away from the marauding
armies. Tens of thousands had been slaughter on their flight for freedom. Though the Kingdom had made this public, no one had seem to care about the death of innocent people. The lack of respect the kingdom had acquired in recent months was just another thing leading to the downfall of the once great Kingdom. Though their country officially gone, their stories and their suffering would never be forgotten.
In Gabon, as the border dispute calmed down between the Vineyard Empire. The withdraw again pick up, the 3rd company of the 1st Armored Battalion begin to load on the ships and aircraft that finally would take them home. As before, request for the use of Air Space over the Kingdom of Kopparbergs was issued and approved. If, peace was maintained in around a month all Kingdom forces would be home.

OCC: Final Post
IC: A Month Later.....
As Admiral P.J. Bindt look out into the land of Africa, he was comforted by the fact that after 4 years of being deployed to various locations with only occasional breaks that he along with his men would soon be home for good. As the final hours were counting down, he was thankful that his men never had to prove themselves in battle stuck in the middle of nowhere with no allies.
As a final send off, to honor those who had died both military and civilian during the times of trouble a 21 gun salute was arranged to be done just before the ships, men and equipment departed for home. When the time came, the send off single was issued and all at once, the guns of the fleet opened open. The official end of the operation had come to an end. All that was left was for the Politicians to do their job and make sure military force would never again be needed in the Gulf of Guinea.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
After over a year of hard work with both governments, the final agreements were being signed and announced.
In Gabon, a new effort was made to convince them to join the Republic. Sadly, the offer had been refused and though the Kingdom of Iberia had not expected the offer to be agreed upon, especially by the other members of the Republic. The flat refusal of the offer was a sure sign that the Kingdom had a long way to go before their trust would be regained. Hopefully, in time both the Kingdom and Gabon would one day be friends and allies working together in the Republic for a better world. Today, however was not that day. Still, the signing of a defensive alliance with Gabon was a start and with all details worked out and made available to the public and the international world at large, their was not much left to do.
In Equatorial Guinea, a new government had come to power with Celestino Bonifacio Bacalé Obiang as the new president. Their was high hopes that with the joining of Equatorial Guinea into the new Republic that along with Madagascar a link to Africa existed and that with the new influence of both countries a new peacefully Africa could be brought into fruition. Whether peace was maintained or not in Africa was now the single goal of the new Republic. As Africa was the heart of conflict in recent years, the Republic had already began to make inroads into working with the other nations of Africa. This process was still ongoing and so far only had seen good outcomes.
