OOC: For those familiar with the previous owner of Valshare, I'd just like to state that I m not him. My good friend gave this nation to me, for which I am eternally grateful.
Oh, and yes, I'm playing nice Daleks. Ther's an interesting backstory behind it, but you'll have to find that out for yourself.

IC: Out in the edge of the Western Spiral Arm, two planets orbited a red supergiant. Neither of these planets was anything particularly special. Few species had ever taken notice of them, or bothered to contact the intelligent races who lived there. If anyone intended to, they had 231 years to do so, because that was when their sun was going to go supernova and destroy both Klekkl and Vasresh.

Perhaps if the Vasreshi had known this, they would have put more energy into finding a suitable planet outside the supernova's blast zone, and less into exterminating the Klekklans. Who knows? As it was, the Vasreshi capital ship Destruction was floating directly above the largest city of Klekkl, its super laser charged and ready for genocide.

***

"Fire!" the order oozed forth from the mouth of Supreme Warlord Nargl. His toothless mouth grinned triumphantly, his independantly-focusing eyes both trained on the screen which showed the life readings in the city below.
As soon as the beam of energy hit the planet's surface, five million Klekklans would be killed and he would be a war hero.

The super laser spewed forth from the belly of Destruction. Five kilotonnes of energy powered towards the planet and...

...disappeared.

"Lieutenant!" Nargl shouted, because he liked to shout "Why are the life readings exactly the same?!"

"I- I don't know, sir." the lieutenant stammered "But an object seems to have appeared out of nowhere. It's metallic, spheroid in shape, about half a kiolmetre in diameter..."

"Where did it come from?"

"I don't know, sir. It gnerated a lot of energy in coming, though. More than the full output of the Destruction's generator. And just when it appeared, the energy from our super laser vanished."

Nargl growled. He didn't like this.

The spheroid object suddenly dropped into the Klekklan atmosphere, leaving the Destruction behind in orbit.

"Hey! It's leaving!" Nargl cried in indignation "Hail it. See if it will respond."

"There is no need," said a high-pitched mechanical voice "We may converse here."

An object had materialized just behind Supreme Warlord Nargl. It superficially resembled a salt shaker made of golden metal. Two light bulbs sat on top of it, and three long protrusions stuck out from its body. One, like the gun of a tank, was attached to a moveable hemisphere on top. The other two, set halfway down, bore an odd resemblance to a plunger and an egg beater.

"Intruder on the bridge!" Nargl screamed.
Six Vasreshi grunts drew their weapons. Before they could open fire, an energy beam shot from the limb resembling an egg beater and blew the gun out of the hands of one soldier. The bullets of the other five bounced harmlessly off the machine's plating until their guns, too, were shot out of their hands.

"I am NeoDarlek Netz," the machine said calmly "Before alerting you to my presence, I took the liberty of sealing the doors. No one can get in or out."

"W- why?!" spluttered Nargl.

"I have been designated to inform you that you have been designated a genocidal maniac by the principles of the Arch Glitch, NeoDarlek Thanos."

"What?"

If a machine was capable of looking smug, Netz was pulling it off. "When you fired that weapon at Klekkl, you attmpted to exterminate five million, three hundred and forty-two thousand and twelve sapient life forms. Worse even than revenge, this is murder without a reason. In addition, your governmnt has been neglecting its citizens in order to prolong a pointless war. Therefore, it, and you, will be EXTERMINATED!"

The last word in the Dalek's spech was the only on which had any sort of emotion in it. It wasn't a nice feeling.

"What right do you have to judge me?!" Nargl growled.

"As per your own actions, you believe that might makes right."

"Uh-oh."

"The people of Vesresh will be saved, if they can. The oe who cannot, yourself included, will feel no pain. EXTERMINATE!"

Nargl didn't feel anything.

The Trinity Survey Cruiser (http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y293/jeudesprit/trinity/Bandoredux.png) C'Yat sat motionless against the stars, its impeller ring turning slowly to keep its station far out in the red star's system...
****
"Tell me again why we're here," asked Lt. Scheller -commander of the C'Yat. He was staring, with a bit of a vacant look, at the holo-screen and sensor read outs.

"Command wants all of the information possible on super novas and potential novas. Their effects on semi-space are unpredictable and severe," answered Ensign Vaa'Let. His tone and demeanor were very...shiny.

Lieutenant Scheller shot him a gimlit eye and said,
"That was a rhetorical question, ensign."
"Sir."
"That's okay, just give me an estimate for remaining time on station."

As Vaa'let was very ernestly doing a calculation, Scheller looked around the small bridge area. Three of the watch standers were pointedly looking at their readouts to keep from laughing, the fourth - Chief Saylo from engineering - was grinning broadly and staring back at him. The chief and Scheller had once enacted a scene like this some years ago....

" At this position, 10 more hours. The second and third positions should be no more than eight and five hours respectively. If all goes to plan, we should be away from this system by this time next ship's day."

Scheller wanted to sigh and perhaps stomp his feet, but that wouldn't due for a rising young officer like himself. He hated inactivity, he hated not being able to contact the beings on the two planets. That was job reserved for the contact core. He just wondered in the poor sods realized that their sun could go *boom* at any moment. He hoped they didn't know...

"Sir," came an excited cry from Vaa'Let. "A jump signiture from the far planet."

"Stardive capable?"
"Yessir."

That changes everything, thought Scheller.

"Comm, calculate that wave pattern and send a hail on the carrier frequency. We can't talk to the natives, but to any visitors we can say 'Hello' ."

ANGEL FORCES, ASSINGMENT: PATROL

A small group of about 4 AX-30 Angel Star Ships
(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Assault_arwing.jpg)

Were trolling through the stary depths of space. It seemed like an uneventful patroll like always.

The female piolts were just being girls and having some small chats with eachother. They passed an aquatic planet

"We just passed Aquas." Said Piolt Midori Kuroda.

"How's the water?" Asked Piolt Alexis Darger

"It's nice and warm," responded Wing Commander Miyu Yamazaki. "And it's loaded with sharks."

"I always heard it wasn't the sharks that get you, it was the storms." Said Keijah Imodeu

Midori changed the subject

"Oh, Alexis I've got some bad news."

"Limo is a word Kruoda, I don't want to here about it."

"It is not a word, it's an abbervation of word."

"Limo is a word in common usage, that is the key phrase in scrabble my good freind. Common usage."

"No if it's not in the dictionary it doesn't count."

"It doesn't have to be in the dictionary!"

"It does have to be in the dictionary. Listen, when we get back to the base it's comming off the board."

"You touch my limo and I'll spank you Angel Girl."

"Yeah promises."

The girls all laughed

Miyu's buzzer went off. "Woah, girls cut the chatter for a second, I'm picking up high energy readings."

"Yeah me too." Keijah said

All others responded with the showing of their readouts.

"Where are we exactly?" Alexis asked.

"Near as I can tell we are in the far regions of Sigma: Western Spiral Arm." Midori said.

"This is a protected sector," Miyu said "There shouldn't be such concentrated readings like that. We'd better check it out."

"Miyu, my com system is not patching through to base." Keijah said.

"All right were just going to have to beam our logs then to let them know, everyone enter your logs and beam them."

The girls assumed formation and proceeded towards the red super giant.

Keijah commented "This thing looks like it's ready to blow soon."

"Cut the chatter Keijah, keep your eyes open."

OOC: You probably ought to get Dalek Empire: Project Infinity, and especially Dalek Empire 2 from Big Finish productions. Has some very relevant stuff in it.

OOC: Ooh, what are they?

IC: The Destruction began to slowly drift back towards Vasresh, its quest to destroy the Klekklans forgotten. It was now under NeoDalek command. Soon, the Vasreshi government would be too.

***

On the surface of Klekkl, panic reigned. People knew they were doomed to be vapourized by the Vasreshi death ray. What they didn't know was what the Nine Hells of Baator the big, round, gold thing was that had just landed in their city.

Most people had evacuated to the city outskirts, but could go no further due to a Vasreshi force field. One of the few that remained in the centre was named Jlekt. He was the Klekklan equivalent of a teenager. No one special, but he had dreams of glory.
He stared at the great sphere, paralysed with fear, but possessed by curiosity.

With not so muh as a futuristic 'whoosh' sound, a hatch opened in the top of the NeoDalek Void Ship. Jlekt saw two unfamiliar shapes rise slowly out of the hole. He had never seen them before, but was fairly certain they were not Vasreshi creations.

They drifted lazily down to the paved road of the Klekklan city, landing either side of Jlekt, his five eyes ide with amazement and terror.

"Kneel," one of them ordered. Jlekt's muscles seemed to have seized up. He could do nothing but make a little whimpering noise.

"Kneel!" it repeated more forcefully. Jlekt was never sure afterwards whether he had obeyed or his knees had simply given way. Either way, the Daleks didn't press the matter.

The one who had not spoken glided forward and presed its plunger-like limb to the side of Jlekt's triangular head. He whimpered again as he felt the rubbery substance mold itself over his ear.

There followed an extremely unpleasent sensation, not unlike plunging one's head into a tub of cold water. He cried out in surprise, but it was already over. The Dalek was backing off.

"You now have all necessary expertise required to pilot a NeoDalek Void Ship, as well as the coordinants of a suitable planet," the first one stated "You have two hundred and thirty-one years to exodus your people."

With no further explanation, the two machines rose into the air and disappeared into the hole in their ship, which closed after them.

The ship began to hum slightly. Jlekt realized that he knew this was because the engines were powering up. With a burst of incredible speed, it disappeared into the sky.

***

The ship broke through the atmosphere and came to a gentle halt. It emitted a very short, simple reply to the C'Yat.

"Your existence has been acknowledged. State name and reason for contact."

" I am Pitor Scheller, commander of the Trinity Prime Space Service survey vessal C'Yat. It is always our mission to bid greetings to other star faring races when first we meet.

" We were here to chart and monitor the declining stages of the star. When we detected your drive's wave pattern, I made the decision to contact you.

"Now who are you and why do you visit that planet? Our contact core group has not seen fit to make our presence known to them."

*****

" A second group," exclaimed Scheller. "And on patrol too..."
Right now things are perhaps starting to get a bit too interesting, he thought.

"Sound 'General Quarters' and bring the defense field to full strength. Comm, get me a second line to the , uh... Angels...."

The Inquisitor, an Imperial Frigate drifted along in T-Space monitoring the background signals. They were out here looking for any possible GFFA members in case they tried to pull a sneak attack. So far it had been extremely boring until the pulse of energy showed on long range scanners.

“Sir, I think I detected something.”

“What is it leuitennant?

“There is a small system at extreme range. I detected an unstable star, a red giant, and the energy signature of an FTL drive.”

“Any idea who it might be?”

“No Sir, it’s too far away but I do detect a number of vessels in the area.”

“Take us closer and bring us to Real Space.”

“Yes Sir.”

Minutes later, the small 60 meter frigate faded into existence near the collection of ships. The mass of The Inquisitor registered on the other’s sensors as that of a small star and the power levels were incredible. There were doors of 18 torpedo tubes and the ship had two ion cannons hard mounted. The hatches were sealed and the weapons were cold.

Attention all ships. This is The Inquisitor from The Balrogga Empire. We mean no harm. We were wondering what all the fuss was about.

NeoDalek Vulchanov felt mild surprise that three ships of different origins had suddenly coverged in this unimportant system. As a Dalek his emotions were not strong, but unlike his psychopathic cousins, he actually had them.

The newcomer's message didn't seem to be of any importance and there was no merit in responing to it. He was somewhat interested in the one called Scheller, however. The creature was on a mission of scientific research and was curious about their sudden presence. The 'Angel' seemed to have some potential for stimulating conversation too.

He submitted two almost identical transmissions that ran along the lines of:

"I am NeoDalek Vulchanov, representative of the Empire of Valshare, operative of Arch Glitch Thanos, and commander of Void Ship 4228. Our mission was to save both species from impending destruction by their star. We discovered, however, that one specis was in danger of being wiped out by the other. Thus, changes in politics must be made, so the Vasreshi do not continue on their path of meaningless destruction."

OOC: Ooh, what are they?

OOC: Spoilerific answer: They're audio-CDs covering the dalek invasion of the Milky Way galaxy. At the end of the first series (Project infinity) the daleks open a rift to an alternate universe where the daleks have absolute power, in order to copy the secrets of those daleks.

Unfortunately for them, those daleks have absolute power because their creator - ironically, given that Davros thought that not giving them a concience would make them more powerful - made them a 'force for good.' ("I am the Emperor of the Daleks in this universe. You have become the invincible rulers of your universe?" "Correct! The Daleks have absolute power! [...] We are accessing your command network... You have conquered this galaxy, you have enslaved its peoples, you have subjugated... you have committed the greatest crimes ever known to our universe! Neutralise them!") Dalek War 2 is the war between those daleks and the original timeline ones. Written and preformed in part by Nick Briggs, the fellow who does the dalek and cyberman voices in the current series.

“That’s too bad. I guess we will have to wait our turn. Pull the ship back a few K. Keep monitoring the situation and inform me if there is any attempts to contact us.”

The Inquisitor pulled back a few thousand meters to be sure it was not in the way. Afterwards, it just sat there, listening.

‘Woof,’ thought Scheller, ‘Why is it feast or famine?’
He took a moment to gather his thoughts, closing his eyes and breathing out forcefully.

“Okay Comm, here we go….”
*****
At the Voidship
“ That is a noble ambition NeoDalek Vulchanov. Such an undertaking must entail a large expenditure of resources. We of Trinity Prime have in times past barely been able to save our own home world after it was poisoned and almost destroyed in a sneak attack. That effort nearly broke our people.

“How do you propose to save these peoples and stop their conflict? If your methods are sound and acceptable to most civilized societies, the galaxy may owe you a debt.”

****
At the Angel Wing
“Wing Commander Yamazaki, our charts and probes did not show that this system was claimed by any star faring race. Is this a security patrol beyond your borders or do you have a claim on this system?

“In any event, we wish to avoid potential incidents with other civilizations. Is it acceptable that we continue in this system while we finish our survey? It might be a good idea if we arrange a meeting later to exchange navigational chart information and possibly discuss a formal meeting between our peoples.”

****
At the Inquisitor
“Greetings to The Inquisitor . We extend our hand to the founders of the Trade Hub, a beacon of peace in this war wary and armed galaxy.

“Our vessel, the TPSS Survey Ship C’Yat , was engaged in taking in-depth readings of this star when we sensed the drive wave of a ship…Void Ship 4228 of the Empire of Valshare. It is crewed by a people called the NeoDaleks. We have never encountered them before and are beginning communications.

“The other ships here are a patrol sweeping the area and sensing the drive energy the same as us came to investigate. At least that is what I gather.

“Did this NeoDalek drive draw your sensors too? It must have a long impulse to draw this attention.”

****

Scheller hoped that the twenty-four lives in his care weren’t as precarious as it felt to him right now…The situation (and transmission) still made him uneasy.
Valshare
15-10-2006, 07:49
Vulchanov received the transmissions with varying degrees of anoyance and interest. He replied to the Angel:

"If it is 'protected', then why was it up to us to save the lives of its people? Whose law is it punihable by, and why do you think it applies to us? How ould we have posible 'authorized' our travel with you if we did not even know of your existance before now?"

To the C'Yat:

"The only resource required are time and the fuel used to arrive here. An operative has ben stationed on Vasresh and has begun negotiations with its tyrannical government. If negotiations fail, we will have no choice but to overthrow said government by force. Once a new leader is installed, we will continue to monitor them to ensure slip into old patterns of oppression and meaningless war. Both peoples have been shown how to manufacture of pilot ship that will allow them to escape their supernova."

"They may be growing hostel girls, keep on your toes.

@ Valshare: This is Yamazaki again, this region is protected by Galactic Treaty 94587398, which deems this protected due to the unstability of the large star, that could result in a super nova or a black hole. If you want to be here you have to have authorization from The United Galatic Organization. We as Angels are serving as a proxy militant unit that does various space activities, including space patroll. We also have the right to use force if needed, as this is intergalactic territory, Out. Keijah, please run Trinity Prime Space Service Survey Vessal C'Yat through the computer."

"Roger Miyu. Okay Miyu my results are showing they are under a Class A Scientific Permit, issued by T.Prime and the U.G.O. they are fine."

"C'Yat Yamazaki again, please check again. You should see this is infact a protected area. The Angel Fleet from Kanami is serving as a Proxy Patroll Unit in this system, that is why we are here, we checked and find you are in full authoization to be here, if you desire we can send you cooridnates to our fleet and you can talk to our superiors. It's not necisary but we can."

"Midori, can you patch through to our fleet?"

"Still nothing Miyu."

"I want to inspect but what ever made that has to be incredibley strong, I don't want to risk it with out a firgate for cover."
Trinity Prime
16-10-2006, 04:54
"Acknowledged, Wing Commander. Meeting time will be arranged post survey. Navigational errors can be very pesky..."

****

With that transmission there was a pause and then a micro semispace warp opened and shut as a coded transmission was beamed out toward Trinity Distrans Command Center.

It was a fornlorn hope, given the stellar proximity and the power surges back and forth, but it had to be tried.

****
At the Voidship, and in broadcast to surrounding ships...
I am duty bound to warn you that there is both a standing fleet order and accepted article in the Treaty of Federation, to object to the greatest possible extent any foreign or non-native powers interfering with the self-governance of a planet.

If they do not accept your offer, then Trinity Prime must ensure that their decision is honored. No theat of force or economic cohersion is implied, but such actions may be deemed advisable by the governing body of our people.

I am sure that this matter will be of more immediate interest to the Kanami than to us, but we will be monitoring the situation.

Will we still be able to exchange information with you about the effects of of novas, super novas and stellar instability on proximal spaces?
Valshare
16-10-2006, 08:10
To the Angel:

"Since the NeoDaleks have neither signed nor heard of this treaty, I completely fail to see how it would apply to us. However, if you truly believe that stying away from systems that will not become even remotely dangerou for two hundred and thirty-one years is more important than saving the lives of billions of sapients, then you may abide by your own laws and leave."

Vulchanov broke of communication with the Kanami in annoyance. He couldn't stand talking to stupid people.

He then transmitted to the C'Yat:

"If that is the view of this Federation, then we have reached a moral impasse. We cannot conscienably allow a tyrannical government to continue to oppress its people and commit genocide against another innocent culture. If this requires interfering in self-governemnt, then so be it. Is it better to allow billions to die for the sake of non-interference?"
Trinity Prime
16-10-2006, 17:49
Oh no, thought Scheller, this could get sticky.

****
To Vulchanov
" We never condone genocide. If the situation you posited occurs - the non-compliance and continuing of attacks - then Trinity would move to protect the other planet...as well as any other planet... from attacks by aggressor. In a purely hypothetical situation of course. In this real life situation we would be working with the Kanami since they have a major interest in the area as well as with you NeoDaleks.

" Even if necessary we would act unilaterally to protect both the aggressor and other planet from outside infuences at the same time. A logical paradox, but one that we have skirted on several different occasions. The exact details would be worked out by our government.

" I would hope that intelligence and sanity would win out and both planets try their best to save whatever part of their population they can...and we would aid them as much as possible...but there could be a situation where an excessively agressive and ignorant people could doom themselves while we guard and wait."

****

Scheller didn't need the looks at him from the bridge watch to feel the distaste rising in his mouth from making that transmission. Dirty, dirty work has been shoveled on the Fleet before and will again.

That's our job, he thought, three cheers for the fleet...

"Com is broken. All right girls, declare target hostel."

"Are we going to engage?" Asked Midori?

"We need to alert command." Miyu responded. "I don't buy preventing genocide, when there is no genocide occuring here."

Keijah implied "Other than the fact this system is dying, there haven't been too much political or civil unrests in this area. Someone's trying to play us for a fool."

"C'Yat, this is Yamazaki, request premission to board your vessel for the purpose of using your comlink."

***
OOC: The docking port is on the under rim of the C'yat shown here. (http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y293/jeudesprit/trinity/Bandoredux.png) I don't know the scale of your ship, but the internal docking space on the C'Yat is in use by the ship's boat.

They proceeded preparing for a slow docking.
Trinity Prime
16-10-2006, 21:41
" Affirmative Wing Commander. Docking will have to be one at a time. For the empty units we suggest either having one of your pilots slave control the ships at a safe distance or an emergency rescue pod can be attached to each that will boost and hold the craft at a preset distance controlled by you.

" Standing orders require all unmanned craft to have their engines powered down and under outside control. Over."

IC: The NeoDaleks watched the Angel prepare to dock with the C'Yat, but made no attempt to re-contact the annoying ship.

Vulchanov did reply to the C'Yat:

"It seems we have the same goal, but achieve it in different ways. We will not try to prevent you from, uh, 'hoping that sanity wins out' if you will grant us the same favour regarding our own methods."

Clearly, even a new production line, complete with kindness and emotions, could prevent Dalek arrogance.

" That is always our philosophy, Vulchanov. I am sure that our governments will be contacting each other. But, I was obligated to warn you about aggressive interference with other planets.

"Tools can be given to a people. Tools can be taken back. You can keep them from destroying their neighbors houses. But if they want to wreck their own home with your tools, all you can do is take the tools away and advise them to stop.

" Now on to other more plesant matters before our governments complicate things. The NeoDaleks are a people unrecorded in our records. So, as I do not wish to cause an affront, are you related to the race known as Daleks or just a similar name?"

****
OOC: Do you have a link or site that would be "flashed" to the C'yat as an offical history or data stream? Trinity has only peripheral knowledge of many races. The Daleks are one of the lesser known (but classed as dangerous) peoples, but the NeoDaleks do not conform to the standard script and are unknown.

Yes, we not only detected the FTL surge but also the fluctuations of the Red Giant. According to estimates, it should collapse in about two centuries. The stellar mass is great enough that it has a great possibility it will evolve into a singularity or even a collapsar instead of surviving as a white dwarf.

We were on patrol when we detected it from some distance and decided to see what was causing the unusual sensor readings.

Is there any assistance we can lend?

The Inquisitor remained unmoving and seemed oblivious to the possible hostilities between the other ships.

Alas, things are not always what they seem.

"Lieutenant, I want passive readings on every vessel here."

"Yes Captain."

"The series of communications between some of the ships sounds like there will be open hostilities any minute and I don't want my ship caught in any crossfire between idiots with itchy trigger fingers."

“Sir, the ship is currently position so it does not lie in the path of any other.”

“Excellent, keep tabs on their Comms and plot all their movements on Holoscreen Beta. Keep Alpha cleared in case there are any incoming transmissions.”

“Yes Sir.”

Here is the flash of the recent communications as ordered by our captain (insert *beep*).

At the Voidship by Scheller
So, you do have to deal with a grand and terrible heritage.
I am extremely curious about your culture but even more so about your daily lives.
Would a visitation exchange be acceptable? We are aware of the risks that such a visit would place our ship in, so could we meet on one of the planets or perhaps in your vessal? We could meet here, but our space is fairly limited and not set up for ease of non-bipedal humanoid use.

This meeting would be the preliminary contact for our formal contact by diplomats at a later date.

Exterior Shot:

A flexable shaft extended from the bottom of the C'Yat and extended downward almost 30 yards. It wiggled slightly as the controller tested the controls.

The docking would be the elegantly simple yet devilishly complex manouver of stopping by the shaft, attaching the tube and sealing a positive lock. All at the hyper-velocities of space...

All that was left was the details of approach control for the Kanami patrol wing.

I understand. We will pull back further so as not to interfere but our offer will still stand. As long as there is a chance for a peaceful reconcilation of differences the resources of The Inquisitor are at your disposal. Don't hesitate to ask.

The Inquisitor took position further away to remain out of the way. The only defences active was the collision field preventing space debris from hitting the ship.

They all docked up, and walked inside through the air locks. They were pointed to the bridge.

"Greetings, I'm Wing Commander Miyu Yamazaki, these are my wingmates.

Pvt. 1st Class Midori Kuroda

Pvt. 1st Class Alexis Darger

Pvt. 1st Class Keijah Imodeu

We are part of the Kanami Space Special Forces known as Angels. And thank you again for allowing us acess to your communications."

Vulchanov considered the C'Yat's message for a moment. His fast-thinking computer-enhanced brain meant that it was a much shorter moment than most people would need to consider it, but it was considered nonetheless.

His mission was to save the Klekklan and Vasreshi people from themselves and from the supernova. He was not authorized to act as an ambassador to an unknown race.

However, there was no visible reason why he should not. NeoDaleks prided themselves on their actions of impulse. It was one of the things that separated them from their megalomaniacal cousins.

"The NeoDaleks will be active in this system for at least a decade. In that time, it would please me personally to exchange visitors with your Federation. You need not worry about the inaccessability of your structures to our non-bipedal forms. What may cause problems is that our ship is not designed to be used by those who cannot fly."

“Welcome aboard the TPSS C’Yat”

The Wing Commander and the three pilots were greeted and escorted by Able Spaceman Asok, a tall-ish dark haired and skinned young man with the classic muscular V shape of a well conditioned male. Around his face (and possibly a bit on his hips), there were signs of some fat just beginning to accumulate. By looking into his eyes (yellow iris with an almond shaped pupil) you could tell he was Xumaian. His sex change might be happening within a year…

As they made their way to the foot lift through the close corridor, he had the habit of any good spacer of touching any object that protruded into the hallway to keep from barking his shins or elbows. Stopping at a small wall locker he took a keycard out and opened the door.

“If you have any personal weapons of a non-religious nature, you can stow them here.”
He handed the keycard over to Wing Commander Yamazaki and then waited for any storage to occur.

After that, a few more meters down the hall and the ceiling opened up. Peering up two deck levels the group could see side walkways, chains, hoists and lifts for the engineering deck they were standing on. Though all the equipment was stowed, it gave the impression that the ship could disassemble and reassemble itself. And it could….

A ride up the lift for two decks and then a walk through a traverse bulkhead and airlock brought them onto the small bridge. Wing Commander Yamazaki was shown in as the pilots were directed to follow Asok to a nearby ready room – for drinks and whatever they wanted to eat.

Yamazaki was saluted and invited to stand by a side communications console by Ensign Ryo't. He nodded toward Scheller as he was finishing a transmission.

To Vulchanov

“We do have flight harness and belts, but I do see what you mean about not rushing this.

“It seems that your activity here has drawn some increased traffic. Even some salesmen. (he smiled) I hope that this increased traffic can yield a more creative solution to the problem at hand.

“Over.”

He turned in his chair and stood. Standing about five foot five inches, he was not an imposing person. He did however have piercing green eyes under his close cut and curly blonde hair. Saluting and then extending his hand to the Wing Commander, he said:

“ Must feel good to stretch your legs a bit… You were having commo problems? Let R’yot here set you up for transmission.”

With a nod from Scheller, R'yot cleared the board and said:

" Do you wish to work the board yourself? Or, if you will tell me the receipiant and coordinates, I can transmit for you."

The board was simple to operate and fairly clear. There was a cross referencing coordinate base for out of system transmission and a "point and transmit" feature for in-system/tactical communications. Scheller was looking on, obviously intent and acting like he was ready to act fast...perhaps to have R'yot edit any provocative or dangerous transmissions.

"At your convienience..."
