IN THE GRIM DARKNESS OF THE FAR FUTURE THERE IS ONLY WAR.
Divine Wrath, "Leviathan Fleet" Command Ship
-"Bring me Sergeant Galtius"-
-"Yes sir!"-
THe Imperial Aide was quickly to leave, it was known Admiral Veniston was very harsh when it came to discipline matters. Standing 1,90 meters tall, of big complextion, Admiral Veniston was a veteran of a hundred battles, that and his unbreakable faith had earned him the command of a small fleet. Many men would have gone mad with this kind of power but not Veniston, he was as loyal to the God-Emperor as the most zealous Inquisitor.
-"I sense your nerves, Admiral"- the Astropath had spoken softly, almost whispering, yet, the Admiral had turned inmediatly. He held a great respect for Psykers, and it wasnt in his plans to anger one.
-"Im still wondering what have we found here, Charan"-
-"Dont you think the Marines will object and ask you to send your guards?"-
-"They'd never refuse a direct order, or a chance to prove themselves in the eyes of the Holy Emperor"-
-"We'll see"- Charan, the Astropath smiled and sat down in one of the leather chairs.

Scout Lazarus knelt in prayer. His bolter lay in front of him, on his bunk. It was disassembled. His newly-issued carapace armor hung from a rack next to him. A chainsword hung from its waist.
Lazarus prayed to the throne that his bolter would not jam, that his armor would not fail him in the heat of battle. He prayed for his Chapter, his company, and his squadmates. He prayed for glory, death, and salvation in the eyes of the Emperor. When he had gone through his litany, he started over again.
Once he had subvocalised the litany twice more, he reassembled the bolter, and looked around his barracks. It was quiet and dark. He checked his chronometer; it read 0330. Lazarus stood, and started walking towards the Chapel.
Lazarus had had trouble sleeping recently. He was having bad dreams, and was too nervous to sleep. He wondered if he was having premonitions, or if psyker powers were rearing their ugly head. Lazarus prayed to the Throne that they weren't. Still, he couldn't shake the feeling that something important was going to happen soon.
Lazarus reached the chapel and knelt down on a pew. He lapsed into prayer as he waited for the Morning Prayer to start.

Scout Alejandro was already in the chapel, kneeling in one of the benches, the two Imperial Guardsmen looking after the Chapel were a few meters behind him, whispering at each other and taking glances at the Marine. A small nod with his head was the only sign that Alex had noticed Lazarus.
-"Look to your battle-gear
and it will protect you
We guard it with our lives
Your armour is your Soul,
and your Soul's dedication its armour
The soul of a warrior is the
shield of humanity
Honour the craft of death
Only the Emperor is higher
in our devotion
Honour the battle-gear of the Dead
We ask only to serve"-
Alex concluded his prayer and stood up, looking around him before going to the barracks to fetch his equipment.
Lyr sat rigid in his bunk, trying to piece together the small bits of machine he had collected through the previous day. After a brief couple hours of sleep, he was ready for whatever the next few days would throw at him. Even in his relatively short experience as an aspiring scout, he already understood how unexpected life in Astartes could be.
As his hands played nimbly around the small scraps, screws, and other odd objects, he muttered litanies to both the Emperor and Deus Ex Mechanicus. The couple years he had spent testing his abilities and honing his mind for the Adeptus Mechanicus had already ingrained into him worship of the Machine God. As a member of Astartes, however, he accepted that the Machine God was an aspect of the Emperor, praise Him, as opposed to a separate entity. To think otherwise was heresy in his mind; indeed, most of the Imperium.
He glanced at the cronometer. Five more minutes, that was all he desired to try to figure out what he had built, though that would probably be a futile gesture. Then he would suit up and head to the Chapel.
------------
Kneeling with his Chainsword pointing into the ground and his head rested against that, Lyr prayed to the Holy Emperor. He wasn't any more particularly pious than the average Space Marine (of course, by general Imperial standards, he was close to a fanatic), so he ran through the basic prayers and litanies. He noticed the other Marines present, making an almost imperceptible head nod of greeting to both. They would notice--whether they heeded wasn't so much his concern. As long as they would be his Brothers in battle, that was all Lyr cared for.
And battle is what he longed for. Lyr prayed again.

Sergeant Ideus Galtius stepped onto the bridge, ever in awe of the might and splendour of the Imperial warship. He bowed in obeisance to the Admiral, drawing his sword and going down upon one knee, the point pressed against the metal floor, his head solemnly dipped. He wore loose robes, not yet attired in his holy battle gear, his black hair spilling out across the hood that lay at his back.
"You wished to see me, Lord Admiral?" He bowed his head again. "The men of my squad progress well, they fight with all the vigour of true Marines, and yearn to prove their worth in the eyes of the Emperor, beloved by all." He smiled lightly, almost wistfully.
"I hope you have something that will test us to the fullest"

The Admiral never ceased to be amazed by the Astartes, right now, both him and the Sergeant were on eye-level, but the Sergeant was kneeling.
He coughed a bit to recover his voice before addresing the Holy Warrior.
-"Sergeant, its always a pleasure to see you, however, you've been called for something more than a simple chat"- He waited for a while before introducing the Astropath -"This man here is Charan, the ship's guide throught the Warp, with the help of the Holy Emperor, he takes us alive out of the Immaterium"-
Veniston stopped talking and let the Psyker introduce himself from there, Charan stood up, looking at the Marine.
-"Some standard hours ago, I picked a strong psychic signal coming from a stray Xeno ship, our sensors have been... fooled so far as what are we facing, the only thing I know is that it's not Eldar, Greenskin or any other race we've met so far..."- he was interrupted by the Admiral
-"Basically, we need your squad to go in there and report anything you find. Do you accept this mission?"-

"Is there anything else you would ask of us, Lord Admiral? How might my men and I better serve the Emperor's will?" He bowed before the Astropath. "Is there anything else you might infer from the torrents of the Immaterium? Is there anything else to be seen?"

Lon Nolan, newly inducted into the Emperor of Mankind's elite warriors, The Adeptus Astartes, was nervous. He was about to move out on his first action, acting as the teams scout sniper. His ability to be fast, smooth, precise, and all around ever vigilent was the key to his teams success...and survival. This was a truly daunting task indeed.
He kneeled alongside his Battle Brothers in silent prayer to the Benficiant one, praying that he might watch over him as he served humbly, bringing about the Emperor's divine wrath.

Veniston thought for a while before answering.
"Should you find any interesting technology you think can help the Imperium, taken its not of Heretic nature, inform us, if capable, bring it back. You'll have two boarding torpedoes at your disposal."
Charan waited for the Admiral to finish before adding.
"The signal from that ship is strange, I advice you to be careful"
With that, the Admiral dismissed Ideus and went back to his duties.

Alex had just gotten word of their mission, slowly but surely, he started cleaning his armour, purifying it with the holy lethanies of cleanising. His bolter underwent the same process, every piece fitting right, polished and gleaming.
you know guys, i would really love to play this, but it takes to long to get anywhere and i dont have the time, im really sorry.
Viktor had been fervently praying in his bunkroom while he cleaned and double-checked his equipment. His squad was about to be tested in the firs of combat against the enemies of the Emperor and he was going to be ready. He had double-checked and triple-checked his bolter. His combat knife had a razor edge. His armor was dulled and ready to be put on.
Slowly, he began to put his uniform on. With a few faint noises he slipped his armor on, clicking the buckles on and ensuring that all was as it should be.
Felimid MacFal
13-10-2006, 03:11
Felimid kneeled on the floor and, with reverence, studdied the equipment he had been granted from the chapter's armory. He gave a cursory glance to his carapace armor and nodded in approval as the light shined off of the silver armor. A grim smile crossed his lips as he considered how short a time it would be before the shine was covered in the ash of the battlefield.
But what truly caught Felimid's eye, and his real reason for looking over his equipment, were the implement's of the God Emporer's wrath. The firey judgement that he would lose in the Emporer's hallowed name. Before him lay what he considered to be the will of the Emporer made manifest. In addition to his carapace armor he had been granted, he was also now in posession of weaponry. A bolter, the sacred Space Marine bringer of death standard to all of his Brothers. A combat knife, strong and sharp but short ranged. Felimid appreciated any way in which he could clense the galaxy for the Emporer of Man, but a knife would probably never be his prefered method of combat.
Rockets. Frag grenades and rockets. Before him lay a nice spread of high explosive ammunition for weapons. With these the true force of the Imperium could be brought to bare upon the xenos and heretics that would dare defile the God Emporer's domain.
Felimid's eyes traveled over each piece of his arsenal, taking in every detail. Soon he would get up and go to the Chapel to attend to his spiritual nourishment, but for now he contented himself with making sure he knew everything there was to know about his weapons.
Apparently Lyr's final prayers had been answered much sooner than he'd expected they would be. All the same, he was ready to prove himself worthy of service to the Emperor. In a moment, he would leave for final prayers with his battle Brothers. First, though, he had to make sure his tools were up to the task of battle. With a personally-made litany for each of his weapons and his armor, as well as the standard prayers, he asked that his Bolter, Chainsword, Meltabombs, and armor not fail him during this test; meanwhile, he reassembled and cleaned them for the tenth time, carefully checking each part. He felt particular warmth with the Meltabombs and hoped that he would have a chance to use their awesome power. Feeling that all his tools were ready and willing, what little anxiety he had was eased.
------------
Fully dressed and prepared to embark, Lyr entered the Chapel. He saw his Brothers had arrived as well, including the Sergeant. Eager to commence, he quickly kneeled and muttered his oaths of faith.

Ideus stood before his assembled squad, standing before the great golden statue of the Divine Emperor of Mankind that dominated the Chapel, he was fully readied for battle, armour gleaming with the care and skill that had grown over his years in service to the Throne, his weapons at his side. Slowly, he began to speak, pacing before the great edifice to Humanity's glorious Master.
"Brothers! We stand on the brink of a great endeavor. The sensoria have detected a strange vessel, perhaps Xeno in operation...We are to investigate the source and purge it of the Enemies of the Emperor.
Know this, we are Space Marines, and though you stand for the Tenth, as Scouts awaiting your final ascendance, you are are still warriors of the Emperor! We shall fight as one, we shall triumph as a unit. This is the day that we prove ourselves worthy to the Chapter, this is the day that we fight for the light of Terra, and bring it forth to the galaxy!
We do not merely fight now, as battle-brothers, nor even as Space Marines of the Emperor. We do not fight here as the Squad Galtius of the Tenth. No! We fight for the Silver Fists! The honour of the Chapter rests upon us, I ask you now...Will you fail them? Will you fail our battle-brothers? Or shall we sow a victory that they shall remember forever!?"

Faronen was unnoticeably standing towards the back of the squad, paying attention to everything, but keeping himself out of sight. He was the smallest of his battle-brothers, and also the most timid of them because of it. Faronen had his plasma gun firmly in his right hand's grip, both plasma canisters in his left hand. He knew better than to keep them in the gun, lest they might cause the gun to explode on accident.
However, when it came to saluting the Emperor, Faronen made his presence known, calling out in the cliche way that all Space Marines did, saluting the Immortal Emperor of Man.
Lyr let his full spirit go into echoing the battle cries of his Brothers. No matter what happened, even death, he would enjoy the coming test of faith and skill.
