FT RP questions

So I'm considering getting Skgorria into FT RP, only thing is I really don't know that much about FT RP, so if someone/some people would be kind enough to answer these questions I would be very happy
1 - how do you work out how big your FT nation is?
2 - is using prexisting sci-fi technology (Star Trek, Star Wars) okay?
I'm sure I'll think of more, thanks in advance
by lack of FT experience I can not answer the first question. But I can answer the second one. Star Wars / Star Trek technology is okay. It depend of how the RP creator wants it. There is a lot of different RPs out there some who allow star trek technology and some who don't. If you are in doubt just ask the creator.

Your FT nation size is your nation's population, as usual.

1: For figuring out your military size, you utilize your NS population. It is generally acceptable to inflate your civilian population to an extent, thought unless there's a reason(primarily to improve the storylines) many people simply go by the NS populations and leave it at that.
2: Pre-existing techs are in widespread use and in most Rp are acceptable. When in doubt, talk with the thread creator.

as a new FT nation in the works i do have three techs that MT or PMT dont have
1. cold fusion
2. clone troops
3. replicator
using clones as troops you still have to use a small part of you NS civilian population to run them as a untold rule
as for cold fusion and replicator techs i dont know what untold rule there are
