1066 was the end of Viking age. The last battle during the viking age accrued in England where Norwegian viking king Harold was defeated by the English king also named Harold. Right after the English defeated the vikings they rushed south to fight of William the conquer (Duke of Normandy) This battle was lost however and Britain was thrown under French rule.
