Battle of San Salvadorea, Dephire:

Dephire
07-10-2006, 18:27
A man dressed in a red coat sliced through an oppenent. He dived for cover as a volley of arrows soared into the square. The night before, the entire city of San Salvadorea was bare, now an invading army thought they could take it for themselves. A flicker of light caught the man's eye, and he swung his sword in just enough time to slash through another man.

The man in the red coat cleaned his sword, then slid it into his scabbard. Shouts came from afar, and he ran towards the commotion. Several hundred men with bows sent a volley into a group of invading soldiers, but with no successful hit. The invading soldiers charged the bowmen, and another small battle broke out. Splinters from a wooden shield exploded from a powerful blow, now the man in the red coat unsheathed the sword at his waist, and entered the fight.

Three enemies fell by the might of the sword when a haunting noise stopped all of the fighting. BOOM. Everyone looked up as a large man walked into the square. The man was very well armoured, with a rather large and extravegant broadsword. His armour was black, and spikes ran down it's spine and on his arms. He looked as if he were a demon.

The man in the coat laughed.

"So, I guess we meet again, my brother."

The armoured figure laughed as well, a sign to every other soldier to back away slowly and flee. These two men will have to fight without spectators. The armoured figure then spoke.

"Yes, Scythis. I believe it is time that we settle this. The winner shall have reign over this land, and they will rule it until the land is taken from them by the mere power of the blade."

Scythis smiled, and threw down his coat revealing his armour. It was golden, with a phoenix crest upon the breastplate. On his back was a tower shield with the symbol of the Delthar upon it. Now Scythis put swung his sword about to see it's full length. He spoke to the armoured figure.

"Baal, we finish this now and forever."

Scythis raised the hilt of his sword to his cheeks, and charged at his brother.

((OOC: This is the Prologue. More is to come, but right now I need to go and do some running about before I finish up.))

Vega was examining the sword that lay on his desk. He knew that it was an ancient sword of great importance. The hilt was gold and encrusted with a large ruby set in the center of the hilt. It's blade was extremely long, and symbols of an old and long forgotten language were enscribed upon it. Vega looked very closely. He noticed that even though it was still very old, it looked rather new.

After a few minutes of examination, he pulled up a browser onto his monitor screen. A few patters as he typed something, and he was off in the search behind this weapon...

Baal immediately swung his sword to deflect Scythis' charge. He then countered with a quick swipe, which missed. Scythis brandished his sword in a very experianced fashion, but couldn't get close to Baal's person.

The two brothers fought fiercly, and only took a brief moment to rest every now and then. Many men from both sides began to gather in secluded areas to watch. Baal lashed out, and caught Scythis' side. Though the blow would be fierce, very little blood was spilt. Scythis jumped backwards a few feet to avoid another attack combonation.

"You fight well even when encumbered with such heavy armour, Baal."

Baal chuckled at the remark.

"And you are well at defending! Too bad that won't last for very long!"

Scythis smiled, and charged again. This time, he took his shield and held it in his off-hand. Baal tried to smite Scythis with a powerful downward blow, but Scythis swung his shield about, and deflected the blow. With that being done, Baal was off-guard. Scythis took this opportunity to thrust his sword deep into Baal. The final strike had been commenced. He turned the blade as to prevent the wound from closing, and pulled out the sword.

Scythis turned around. Men were cheering. Scythis smiled...but then everyone became silent suddenly. He turned around just in time to witness the movement from Baal. Baal stood, and thrust his blade into the heart of Scythis.

The two brothers fell to their knees. Both had defeated one another.

Vega finally found something interesting. He had found an entry on Dephire's past. In the very beginning, Dephire had been once a territorial providence of the Dolgrea Empire. This had been five thousand years ago. After a two thousand reign, their foreign rulers had been defeated by another empire, known as the Torlgara. Dephire was still rather small, only a few thousand people total. Four nearly five hundred years, this new empire ruled with an iron fist. The Torlgara had forgotten that Dephire was even there until finally, a voyage was set to Dephirian Shores. Shocked that there were people there, these voyagers set up large trading posts. Over a few centuries, these posts became large cities. Dephire was now gaining power and influence. After a fifteen hundred year reign, the Torlgara were destroyed. In their place was a new empire that had taken over much of the known world. These new rulers had control all the way up to just eight hundred years before Dephire had ever been recognised as a "Rogue Nation".

All of this information was going through Vega's mind, but it still didn't answer his question as to where the sword came into play.

Ten Years Before the Fall of Scythis: The Beginning of Dephire

A boy walked about his village. He had no name, nor a past. All he knew was that he was different. No one wanted to play with him because he ended up hurting them, even unintentionally.

He didn't know why it was so. Everytime he wrestled his friends, he always won. The boy could even take down people three times his size. It confused everyone, but when he seriously hurt someone by giving them a 'high-five'...well that was just enough. The entire village sent him into exile. He...and his older brother that is. Both of them were built pretty much the same, and they were both just as strong as the other. Now they were heading out of town, and into the open plains. To where, they do not know...

((OOC: Now then. This is actually an RP that isn't based on just war. No, you don't send in countless numbers of people, just RP one or two people. It's supposed to be like D&D, only it's not fantasy, but realistic Sword vs. Sword. Kinda like Kingdom of Heaven, which was based upon the crusades. So the tech is more so on the lands of Swords, Bows, Daggers, plate armour, horses...yeah know.))
