ISS Lexington NCC-271
"Captain's log, stardate 5356.3. This is Captain Robert Wesley commanding the Constitution class vessel ISS Lexington on its first mission. Ship and crew have responded well after a tough series of shakedown cruises.

Admiral Leyton has in fact ordered us on our first mission, a 6 month survey of the Gamma Quadrant. It has been a while since Dominion forces have been seen by our observation posts on the Gamma Quadrant side of the wormhole. Starfleet believes it is once again safe for some of the smaller exploratory ships to make the journey that had just recently been restricted to warships like the Defiant class vessels.

We have now spent a week in the Gamma Quadrant and have yet seen any activity. Our Science Officer has reported that his staff is excited to be exploring uncharted space. We have yet found life on any of the systems we have visited yet. We hope to find some signs of civilization soon. With 6 months to go, I believe that we will find something, but we must still remain on guard for the Dominion.

END LOG

"Sir, we are now entering star system 10,506 Delta," reported the navigator

"Slow to warp factor 1 and bring us around the outer-most planets," ordered Wesley. "Then slow to impulse and allow us to scan their surfaces.

The Lexington slowed to 1/4 impulse as she entered orbit of the 8th planet. This planet was a gas giant that was orange in appearance. "Science officer, launch a Class VIII probe," ordered the CO.

"Aye sir," he responded as the probe was launched. "Probe readings show an atmosphere of 80% hydrogen, 15% nitrogen, and..."

"SIR!!!!" interrupted the tactical officer. "We have 3 inbound ships!!!"

"Red alert! Shields up!" ordered the Captain. The tactical officer didn't have to say it, he knew these ships were Dominion vessels and they would be hostile. The Captain yelled out more orders "Helm, evasive maneuver! Ensign, send an emergency message to the relay station near the wormhole."

The crew braced as the inertial dampeners failed to keep up with the maneuvers the ship was making at full impulse.

"Sir, our comms are being jammed," reported the Communications officer.

The Captain realized that there was little chance of success here. 'What would Jim Kirk do?' he thought to himself. He knew the answer. "Tactical, lock photon torpedoes! FIRE!"

The Lexington shot 4 torpedoes out of her lower saucer hull. She was the last Constitution class vessel to be built with the orginal configuration. All of her younger sisters were being built to refit specifications. A back-up at the yard meant that while her older sisters were being refit, she would be going on missions. As a result, she lacked the signature torpedo launchers on other ships of the class like the Enterpise.

The 4 torpedoes struck the lead ship of the Jem Hadar element. The enemy's shields were holding strong even as the Lady Lex fired her phaser banks while her tubes were reloaded.

The Jem Hadar ships then opened fire with phased polaron beams. The shields did little to stop this weapon and the opening volley caused some damage to the ship. Her exterior showed scorch marks on her new duranium white hull. Her interior showed the damage in exploding ODN circuits. Luckily, there were redundant circuits meaning that most systems were still functioning. The Lexington fired another volley of torpedoes at the lead ship. This time, there was some evident damage, but still not enough.

The enemy fired back with a polaron beam on the starboard nacelle. The red forward section of the nacelle collapsed in on itself and a stream of plasma was leaking out of the forward end of it and obscurred the nacelle as the Lexington continued forward with a trail of plasma for all to follow.

"Tactical, how are our shields doing?" asked the Captain.

"Shields aren't even stopping a minimal amount of energy from those polaron beams," responded the TAO.

"Remove main power from shields!" ordered the Captain. "Transfer energy to phasers and put auxiliary power on the impulse engins." This order helped the Lexington, but it wouldn't be enough. Luckily, her next volley had blown out one of the nacelle's on the lead Jem Hadar Attack Ship.

The 3 Jem Hadar ships were still attacking though. They now circled the ship and fired at will on her. One shot targetted her lower saucer and took out all of her forward photon tubes. Even in this case, the ship could still maneuver and fire phasers. Unfortunately, another shot at the ship targetted the side of the forward section of the engineering hull. With no shield protection, the duranium was cut open and the polaron beams gutted main engineering. Most of the engineering crew, including the chief engineer, were killed.

It was quite evident on the bridge what had happened as main power had almost immediately gone off-line. The Captain knew that the mains were hit. That left him with only his impulse fusion reactors, his auxiliary back-ups, and his battery. They produced enough power to sustain a ship, but not enough to keep her in a battle.

The XO was manning the engineering system on the bridge. Even with Main Engineering gone, he was able to transfer power from the auxiliary generators to phasers. They continued to damage the lead ship, but it became apparent that the Lexington would die before she could kill that ship.

She took multiple shots that pierced the duranium hull plates. So many hull breeches had been created that integrity force-fields couldn't be establised over all of them. The Lexingon was a battered wreck as she struggled to keep fighting until the bitter end. That is how Captain Wesley and his crew ended up going down. When the battle had ended, the remains of the ship were a floating burning wreck. There were no survivors, but her crew had all died honorable deaths that even Klingons would envy.

Later that day, it became apparent to Starfleet that something was wrong when the Lexington failed to check in with the relay station. Starfleet would have to find out what happened to NCC-271.
Peacekeeper Command

A great beast rumbled through the cosmos. The stars themselves seemed to part ways as a megalithic behemoth sliced its way through the very fabric of space itself. Like a blackened shark swimming effortlessly through dark waters, the Peacekeeper Command Carrier Reacidion cruised along at half thrust, its enormous engines glowing brightly to provide sufficient momentum for such mass. The size of the ship was only apparent when one compared it to the capital ships that escorted it on its journey - even a Pantak-class Vigilante, the second largest Peacekeeper ship in service, was dwarfed by it. Like a floating city, it bustled with mundane activities - ships docking, ships departing, patrols reporting in, transport ships running supplies and personnel between the vessels in the fleet, and all the noisy comms traffic that accompanied it. Some of the capital ships entered hangars on the mothership for maintenance, while others departed them to take their places. The logistical personnel alone for this entire operation must have numbered in the thousands.

A dozen fighters streamed out of numerous small hangars like a flock of birds swarming around a newly-discovered source of food. The sleek and deceptively powerful craft approached some kind of wreckage a few thousand metras ahead of them, the very reason why the fleet had slowed. The wreckage had by now spread out into a sizable field of metallic chunks.

"Definitely some kind of wreckage," a Prowler pilot's voice announced over the comms link. An irritated Captain Jaas paced the upper tier of the command deck without patience, with his hands clasped firmly behind his back, holding down the long red-trimmed jacket he wore. His black, glossy leather uniform creaked with every pace, a sound which many of his subordinates had come to associate with frustration on his part. "Can't... wait, I see some kind of writing on one of the larger pieces of debris. Definitely alien, and I don't recognise the insignia..."

"How much wreckage?" Jaas growled at one of the officers working on the tactical control systems.

"There is sufficient mass for a small ship," Sub-Lieutenant Raelin informed the Captain. "Scanners suggest that it was destroyed in the last few hours sir."

"Is there any sign of the artists of this destruction, or the architects of that ship?" Jaas asked.

"There are no other ships within scanning range," Raelin shook her head. "Mauraders on long-range patrol have not reported any ships either."

"Gah," Jaas grumbled, slumping into the first vacant chair he could find. He glanced around at the spartan command deck, the soft white walls and the Peacekeeper banners slung over them remind him of his duties each time he looked. His subordinates all looked over at him cautiously, awaiting his orders.

"Prowler 1," Jaas said loudly. "Clear the way and then get back here. I'm not waiting for another arn while we calculate a new course. We have a schedule to keep."

"Understood sir," the pilot's voice came through. "All pilots, let's cut through the dren and return home!"

The pulse cannons of the dozen Prowlers burst to life, slicing through the wreckage with brilliant red pulses of plasma. The chunks of dead ship were disintegrated into dust, or at least into pieces small enough to allow a large ship to pass through unharmed. Several pilots, apparently having had an uneventful time of late, took the opportunity to show off their piloting skills, flying deep into the debris field and swooping around some of the larger debris pieces - including an unusual saucer-shaped piece - and flying through the explosions they created.

The craft all returned to a diamond formation in short order and flew back towards their mothership, leaving behind nothing more than a cloud of metallic dust.

Raelin pressed some keys on her panel, squinted at a large holographic monitor to her left, and then looked over her shoulder. Flicking some blonde hair from her face irritatedly, she spoke up, "Captain, the debris field no longer poses a threat - we can pass through it."

"Excellent," Jaas said, shaking his head. He sat down in his throne-like command chair at last and nodded to another officer. "Resume our previous course, Lieutenant. Hetch seven. Make sure all ships are alerted and join us."

A short while later, the Command Carrier and its brethren once more seemed to part the stars ahead of them, and disappeared into the distance at colossal speeds. The subspace wake they left behind was significant, enough even to drag along several of the larger pieces of remaining debris.

"For years we have looked through machines to see the others in this universe, now it is time we go forth under the flag of Onosis."- Var'ko'na

the U.O.S. Lypoumai (http://img268.imageshack.us/img268/4738/z18vg7.jpg) was doing that, it came from a unknown part of space, and was counducting a mission of exploration outside its solar system, to gather information about forces outside its solar system.

Line Captain (http://img299.imageshack.us/img299/1245/linecaptaincolonelflightmajorkq7.png) Tourak, a Kand Tarkan (http://img342.imageshack.us/img342/8828/tarkanwarrioroj1.jpg) had stumbled upon this, and decided to take a look.

(hello= spoken in own language)

"Anyone left? spoke Tourak, in a very deep voice to his second in command, Commander (http://img442.imageshack.us/img442/2664/commandermajorwingcommanderhf2.png) Karakna,a bose tarkan (http://img140.imageshack.us/img140/9701/sotstarkphysiomn5.jpg).

"Captain, scanners show no life left, suggest we activate shields and weapons." said weapons officer, Lieutenant (http://img183.imageshack.us/img183/7287/lieutenantfirstgradefirstlieutenantflightlieutenantgk4.png) Marina Tran, a human woman. "Negative!" replied Tourak " we must not show ourselfs as threating, this ship could have been the aggressor in the battle, increase defensive scanners to maximum."

The ship waited scaning the wreakage for life signs and what the ship used for weapons... they could have took the wreak with them, but the Onosian people were not scavangers and were not about to desicrate a...by the way things looked... graveyard.

OOC: remember you have never seen this craft and havce no idea of its origins, so act suprised. I am doing this to try and get some ft experiance before i intro Onosis fully (backstory, blah, blah.) but remember YOU HAVE NEVER SEEN THESE GUYS.

"Take us out, there is nothing more to see" Tourak said, and the with that the ship when on its way and blasted off in a flash.
