Emperor Jianling Xu, the ruler of the Pan-Asian Coalition, had seen enough of war and fighting to know that he had to stand at good terms with the RSFSR in the near future. Fighting in the war as a colonel, Xu had seen the viscious fighting of the Soviets and Chinese at each others' throats. The Bear and the Dragon were at odds, for sure, and the Eagle of the USA was rising once again to compete with the two global superpowers. But in the guise of friendship lies competition, and Xu knew that his blossoming Asian Prosperity Sphere could soon grow to bigger and better proportions, over the Russian territory. Standing before a massive crowd in Tianimin Square, American and international news groups around, Xu knew he had to make this speech count.
Xu took a deep breath, and began.

"Men, women, children, citizens, loyal followers, allies: I come before you today, the dawn of the twenty-second century, to lay out the map which Greater China and the prosperous Asia itself shall find to be a light through which to guide as the future becomes the present. War divided us, struggles conquered us in the aggressive times before today. We now stand, the international community, enlightened by experience, united by goal of expansion. I propose today a new plan that shall lead the Pan-Asian Coalition to the next world leader, to make our great and historic nation once again the true Middle Kingdom!
Space lies barely touched, still a heaven for the outstrecthed arms and fingers of man to reach for and miss. No longer shall we sit idly by as the times of the new horizon stretch before us! The PAC shall go boldly to this frontier, creating new oppurtunities in space and the moon, as well as expanding beyond such! The Asian Space Development Network, with so many innovations and advances already developed, have a new goal to lead greater China into the second space age! By 2105, the PAC will have a moon installation to rival and surpass those already of the Soviets and Americans! Asian unity shall prove its meddle of the stars, and expeditions will be researched to send men of the PAC farther, to Mars, to the outlying moons, before 2130! And we shall realize our dream! But we shall not seek strife amongst the stars, we shall look to go hand in hand with our American friends and Soviet neighbors, peaceful into space! Earth as a whole shall send the human race forth!
But Earth is far from complete. As of today, research shall go underway to develop plans of undersea colonization of types, to coincide, using similar plans, of space installation. This plan, in reality, will take time, for sure. but fellow Asians, do we not have time? We can spend what we need to discover what intrigues us all. And the oceans that cover this beautiful, bountiful planet lie yet to be exploited for the human spread. Let the Asian prosperity union be the first to take advantage!
The Great War hurt us all, recognizably. But the PAC shall not simply lie down and die from honorable defeat at the hands of the Soviets, honorable contemporaries and adversaries, but we shall look to rebuild the Asian military, nationalizing and leading a global peace force to build good relations with all nations and factions! Let the rays of peace from the eternal makers above us shine down and unite all of us together under peaceful intentions, and let greater Chna be the first to extend that hand of peace!
The last plan to come soon for the Pan-Asian Coalition shall be the further urbanization of the Greater Asian outlying districts and rural sectors. So much land we have lies yet to be uncovered and used, and we shall let civilization expand its roots farther with what land we have left to utilize! Let Greater China expand where it can, to make good and reduce such congestion that has plagued us!
For secure society, the Pan-Asian Coalition steps forth into the new century, a frontier looking to be opened and furthered for the gain of all humans! Peace and prosperity linked, let the new dawn awaken!"

Xu raised his hands above his head, thunderous applause roaring from the PAC and international masses below. Xu smiled, knowing that the community at large would have a responsive message. And if he played his cards right, just maybe the dreams could come true.

Today is a momentous day in history. We look forward to greatness. Our countries have sealed an alliance to rebuild for a better future. We are preparing for a second green revolution. Too many countries of Africa and the Middle East have been blighted with failing land and unprosperous soil.

We are offering the middle eastern and African nations a chance to rebuild their farmland, purify water from the sea, and turn their lands green. We reach out to the world to form an alliance to help these people. Where only blight was with burned off topsoil, we will build a green garden of paradise with bounty for all its citizens. The newly formed Green Revolution will turn our countries and many countries in the MEC into a lush paradise.

We are also reaching out to our brothers in the MEC and Africa we have seen their plight. With the peak in oil, many countries were left completely bankrupt without hope, without help, without a future. Africa and the Middle East have one resource in abundance, sand. We are offering technical assistance and the knowledge of our great corporations to build silicate factories to make solar panels, clear solar glass for great skyscrapers, solar hydrolizers to produce hydrogen gas from water, and silica. We will let the sun shine down and make the MEC a source of power like it was before the end of oil. We are reaching out to these nations in hope they will have a better future. Without ado, I give the podium to Mehmed Pasha. We call it "The Golden Sun Initiative".

Mehmed Pasha, raises his hands above his head, the handpicked crowd roars. He smiles then lowers his hands.

We have met with our brothers in Indiastan to help solve a worldwide crisis in health. Disease has ravaged Indiastan along with horrible toxic chemicals. This has also spread to other countries as well. We fear it will enter our countries as well. We have seen a rise in genetically based illnesses, industrial style accidents and poisoned land. We are working together to develop affordable universal genetic screening for both of our populations to reduce the number of birth defects, as well as create new vaccines, and special drugs to boost the immune systems natural defenses against chemicals and illnesses. We have formed a joint Universal Health Organization between Indiastan and the Ottoman Confederacy.

Lastly, we need better security for us and our neighbors. We have been doing joint military exercises in the Indian Ocean as well as having formed a new security apparatus to prevent crime and protect against foreign prying eyes, the Operational Security Service, as well our National Guard units are helping us understand the best internal way to protect our borders. These will help secure both Indiastan's and the Ottoman Confederacies borders.

OOC: We are attempting to move into MEC territory both offering them agricultural assistance (green revolution), and technical assistance (golden sun initiative) through our corporations. In exchange we need to protect our assets and provide greater security for the people in our installations, army units would be stationed to protect some of the new factories. We are also offering technical training and schools attached to the new factories. Of course these schools would offer religious training, as well as a sound scientific education.

IC: Secret. We are also offering secret assistance to some of the local religious and political leaders in the areas where we get to build our installations.

Peter Summerton, Chancellor of the UK watched the military parade through Trafalgar Square and thought how the goosestepping lines of infantry reminded him of the PAC troopers. They had been invincible when the war opened not to long ago now but eventually through Russian trechery mostly they had eventually surrendered. The 88mm guns broke his contemplation as their shells splashed into the Thames. Once again forgetting his duties at this parade he began to poonder the action to take he had promised a 'new Empire' and he finally had a way to do it.

AS the world has heard the PAC has begin a new age of exploration and scientific expasnion. We of course offer or congradulations to the PAC and hope you have the best of luck in your task. However the Uk, wishes to enter in this program as well. As you may or may not know the British Space Program is weak and supremely under funded. That is why we wish to assist the PAC so that we both shall have a better knowledge of space and it's assets. We unfortunately have little to offer the PAC, excepts very old American plans, a few rocket scientits, and the entire Phyics branch of Cambridge university.

We have no materials but we may offer you man power, and if neccesary armed warships. I along with the United Kingdom pray that we shall achieve a closer unity and achieve our first joint project in quite some time.

The Chancellor leaned in his uncomfortable office chair and watched the fireworks explode over Parliament. 'A new Century and a New Empire very daunting task....' he thought as out of the polished window he watched his country celebrate prolonged life.

Two major statements in the space of a day, thought Nake Kaluti, the PAC is finally going to move on from the last war and the MEC and Indiastan are allies. Though he wasn't sure about this green revolution. The Songhai Empire had long ago turned to environmentally friendly technologies. This space program that the PAC spoke of was most interesting to Nake. Recently Songhai had been clamoring for a space program of its own, but because Songhai was not the most technologically advanced nation the program had not advanced very far. Yet here was another country who was looking to space. Perhaps some kind of joint space program could be worked out. The only problem was that other nations looking to go in space would also surely seek out the PAC and what would stop the PAC choosing them instead of Songhai? What unique asset did Songhai have?

Nake called in his ministers and after some discussion a message to the PAC was drafted. The following encrypted message was sent by satellite to the PAC:

To His Imperial Majesty Emperor Jiangling Xu,

The Songhai Empire wishes to improve relations with your great nation. We believe that our two great nations can achieve greatness in the future by working together. That is why we propose a trade agreement, whereby restrictions on each others goods are lifted. This will only help both our economies.

And we also see eye to eye with you about going into space. We believe that space is the future and hearing that the PAC shares these sentiments has convinced us that this is another area where cooperation would be best. Songhai can of course provide great manpower as our population approaches 1 billion, though the PAC is also not lacking in this area. We can provide equatorial launch sites like the one we have built in the former area of Equatorial Guinea. This way fuel and thus money could be saved in launching space craft. Songhai also does not lack in minerals and resources that are necessary to build spacecraft. Yet the most important thing we can offer is an intense desire in all of our people to go to space. You may be assured that if we work together all Songhaians involved in the project will do their utmost to see it succeed. Please consider what Songhai can offer if we cooperate on a space program.

As President Johanne Pierre watched the speech by the PAC emperor, his curiosity was greatly sparked. Knowing that his country had plans to start a space program in a few years, he thought that this may very well jump-start their plans. He also knew how valuable the quadruped technology may be for work on other planets. But he also had to worry about how his country would react to working with one of the nations involved in the many bio-chemical attacks on the other side of the world. He called an emergency cabinet meeting and discussed possible modes of action. There was unanimous agreement across the board that they should wait and see how some of the other nations of the world reacted, most notably America and several of the other South American states. They had no wish for a quarrel with any groups opposed to the PAC plan. After the meeting, the President decided that he would wait for several responses, see what's going on, and should it be mostly positive, he would begin to work out a cooperation with the PAC Space Project...

Xu sat in his office in Beijing, contemplating the global responses as word flew in from his government news agencies and aides. The Ottoman-Indiastan alliance was "troubling", the other global responses were good. Securing well with Songhai especially would be good, because the veiled Asian imperialism through that speech could then gain a foothold in the three-way African race, and with the biggest African contendor. Just maybe Xu could negotiate to make Songhai the only African contendor, making a very good African-Asian relation...and placing the PAC as the #1 global power, rather than the #3 they were currently, behind the Soviets and Americans. Additionally, maybe the Asians could secure parts of Angola, or South Africa, or greater Iberia, should a war break...
The UK offer was slightly perplexing. The British had been in more of a solitary state since the first half of the previous century, though the UK and EU relations hadn't been the finest. Xu was no major fan of the EU, however...their close proximity to the Soviet domain ensured that Soviet influence likely stretched to the borders of the EU-held Poland and Germany (and probaly the NADA's member states, as well). However, the UK did have a nice conduit to America, through the Greenland territory...and if America got roudy, there was a breach that wouldn't have to bypass Japan or Korea to reach it.
Xu especially liked the promises of "manpower" from the British and Songhai. That pleased him especially, as then he would have more Asian workforce devoted to the rebuidling and restocking of the once-again growing military force. Chemical weaponry and biological weaponry had been used to such an extent in the Great War that levels of the esteemed weapons had to once again be built up, should something happen again to provoke war. And that was not out of the question: who knew what would happen with the new Ottoman-Indistani alliance now negotiated, and the Indistani were no friends of the Asians. However, holding the major Islamic strongpoint of Indonesia and Malaysia played to the Chinese advantage, providing that some sympathies in the somewhat-Islamic Ottoman and Indistani empires were likely swayed to these holdings. The Thai/Bhurma-Bangledesh border was another of these, the chokepoint between the two Asian spheres. And lastly lied Australia...the small island nation that had been so quiet it was ominous what they were up to.
Xu put these thoughts aside, and quickly went to work on what he had to respond to the British and Songhai comms he had gotten by word of his messengers. Glancing as a procession of the latest A-6 Heavy Armor lumbered by in the Chinese sun, Xu went to work developing two return messages to the UK and Songhai.

To His Imperial Majesty Nake Kaluti:

The offer of a space venture between both our people is indeed an attractive and lucratve one at the least. Space serves as the next ground for the footprints of humankind to plant, the ground which later struggles will coincide with and take. Both our empires move into the futures as forerunners in the African and Asian continents, and our futures are bright indeed. To further our goals and development, here is what I propose:

Songhai stands on a wealth of natural resources, nearly stretching from African coast to coast. The PAC, in contrast, has a wealth of intellectual centers to develop and refine the latest innovations. I propose here a joint venture between the Songhai Empire and the Pan-Asian Coalition to develop the greatest space program this world has ever seen, making a Mars colony before the Soviets and Americans can, and developing a highly advanced Moon colony as well. In addition, an expansion of the Zedong station is in order, so that both our peoples can prosper from the great advances being made at the space station in Earth's orbit.

To lay out how we should procede about this, here is my suggestion: Research and development of ideas and concepts should utilize the technological centers of the PAC to use the best avaliable resources to manage great progress. The actual production then could occur within the Songhai empire, making use of a greater avaliable manpower system and abundant resources waiting to be utilized. Launch sites could occur both in Songhai and in the open avaliability of cleared sections of the PAC, such as in Asian Laos.

Together, our domains can reach forth to progress in this expanding world.

It is of both our interests that our kingdoms come together on this massive project that leads the highlights of this dawning century. While the UK may lack somewhat on its space program, the abundance of intellectual minds across the British academic installations allows for a great deal of innovation and thought to this process. On the other side of the world, we of the PAC stand with a great deal of industrial manpower and ability, able to utilize the best avaliable production centers of the world in creating projects to send off Earth. With these being said, here is my proposition:

Research and development surely is a forerunner in the UK. Great institutions, dating back into the last millenium, have weathered throughout time and produced great minds and thinkers. No doubt this is still the case, as the United Kingdom is a world leader in innovation and invention. However, the PAC can provide the UK what it has been lacking, the ability to make those thoughts into reality through a devoted and very large workforce able to utilize an already-underway space program and tools to make it all happen. The best course of action, it would seem, would be to develop plans and concepts in the UK for a space program, then ship such plans, scientists, and materials to the PAC to finalize production and refinement utilizing advanced factory ability in such industrial centers as Shanghai, Xianjiang, Cambodia, and Manchuria.

Through this, perhaps more lucrative works can be achieved. It is noteable that the PAC's industrial power is unrivaled, and the innovation ability of the UK is daunting. Future plans for matters in addition to a joint-space program would be welcomed.

Xu smiled as he let that message be sent back to London. He hoped the last paragraph would be a subtle hint to the British Chancellor that Xu was looking perhaps into military plans as well between the two nations. He had liked how he played both the countries, using the Chinese brainchild in the Songhai project and the Chinese industry in the British venture. That way, no element of the Chinese nation would go unused, working to bolster the Asian prosperity in two groups, yet not overworking either one, and still allowing for development into homegrown military plans and domestic projects, such as the renovation of Chinese education into a greater work than even Japan's education system, led by the works of Hong Kong.
Either way it happened, some had grabbed so far.

High Marshall Quizetlanto Sat at his desk on the FSAS Venezuela as he watched the news of the emporor giving his speech for a better tomorrow. He , personally, despises both China and The RSFSR for supplying the FSAL's former oppressors, Brazil and Argentina, with weapons used to kill his people. the 60 year old fought in Santiago and Puerto Mott as a Major with the Venezuealan army branch of the ISDF and saw what those weapons had done to his people. He would rather team up with the nation who was his greatest frriend and ally, The United States, for help. He sent a message to the US as follows:

Colonel Parrion sat in his control bunker I-12 under Mexico City. He was called there after the Installation Commander notified him of an intercepted message from teh FSAL to the US. He immediately russhed to the Bunker, eager to read it for himself. The commander gave him a copy of the message. The colonel eagerly began reading it.
"President of the United States, we come asking for aid.
Our space program is very feeble and underdeveloped. We too would like to reach our peacefal hands into the final frontier, but not alone. We want to continue with you. He Called over a Comm officer and told him to wire this message to the FSAL.

The UCMS would like to assist you with your troubles. We too are among nations with decent space programs and want to help our neighbors to the south. We can assist you with vital technology and scientists to help you in your just cause.

"Hopefully, they will accept my offer" he thought. His mind was set on the possibility of a military alliance with the FSAL. that way, he can finally complete his ancient Maya empire by sucking in nicaragua and Costa Rica. If this goes to plan, The Colonel would be a very happy man

Noting relative silence on the national front, President Johanne Pierre decides that it would do little harm to aid PAC in their great expansion. Calling in a trusted secretary, he beings dictating the message...

Emperor Jiangling Xu of the PAC:
I, President Johanne Pierre of Quebec wishes to aid you in your great quest to the stars. We have been planning for some time to begin our own space program, but now that your nation is going to begin theirs, we wish to express our interest in aiding your country. While we are small and have few resources to aid you, we can use our quadruped mech technology to help with work on distant planets, since they would be quite useful for lifting and transportation when they don't have to worry about extra gravity that would hinder them. In return, all we ask is for free trade between our countries and a hopefully lasting alliance.

Having finished the dictation, he assigned the letter to a courier who would travel to the PAC capitol and personally deliver the message, as satellite communication is always being monitored... Pierre sighed as he thought about the paranoia that has gripped his nation since the Great Wars started. He hoped that this alliance would help ease his people from their basements, shelters and bunkers and bring them to a higher standard of living. After the courier left, he ordered a bottle of French Champagne to be brought to his office and began to rest...

Nake read the message that the PAC had sent back. Good, he thought, they had agreed to cooperate with Songhai on the space program. Together the PAC and the Songhai Empire could do great things and perhaps offset this Indiastan-Ottoman Alliance. Nake quickly had a encrypted reply drafted to send back to the PAC.


To His Most Imperial Majesty Emperor Jianling Xu,

Your proposal is acceptable and we are glad that we have reached an agreement. Since the initial research and development and then designing will take place in the PAC, we wish to send our top scientists both to help and to learn. Once the designs are completed, they can be brought back to Songhai where the majority of the manufacturing can be done. I can not tell you how glad the Songhaian people will be when they hear of a space program and once again can assure you that they will do their utmost to see the project succeed.

High Marshal Quizetlanto was just trying to fall asleep when an ensign ran into his office with a comm paper. "what is this?" he asked. "a mexican communication for you, sir." quizetlanto took the paper as the ensign left the room and began to think about this. what do the mexicans want with me? why would a nation like that want to help someone. all they do is attack people south of them. something is amiss here, he thought as he read the message
"Honorable High Marshall of the FSAL,
The UCMS would like to assist you with your troubles. We too are among nations with decent space programs and want to help our neighbors to the south. We can assist you with vital technology and scientists to help you in your just cause.

"Alright," he said,"This is definately a bad sign. i think the FSAL can stay out of this one. he called back the ensign and began to write a reply,

The FSAL would love to accept your offer, but sadly, we cannot under certain conditions. we already have a plan with the US fpr space and do not need your assistance at the moment. we appreciate your helping hand but just cant accept.

though he wasnt totally positive the US will help the FSAL, adding that fact would deter the mexican leader from any more attempts to play the FSAL

Nehru Khan sat and drank his mint tea. He was reading the All Indiastan daily. This space race thing interested him, however, it was impractical and hugely expensive to put men in space. What could they offer instead. They had a satellite launch service, maybe they could displace the EU in the commercial market for space. They would put major advertisements in the worlds daily papers and international magazines with full color advertistments.

Indiastan the place to invest, we bring you great industrial prowess, invest in Arjun Aerospace-- space manufacturing and satellite launch services, Green Revolutions Inc-- farming and ecological industries, Golden Sun Industries-- solar and hydrogen power, Turkish Robotics-- exoskeleton and robotic research, and Medici Medical Industries-- gene therapy and genetic testing. Pushing the world forward to become a better place. We are looking for investors to help a better future.

Science Journals: Medici Labs with a grant from the United Health Organization of Indiastan and the Ottoman Confederacy have made a major breakthrough in immune medicine, an ex-vivo gene therapy to boost immune strength. We are doing initial testing with volunteers from the military services and civil services.

As colonel Parrion read the reply, he was angered. his one chance at clinching central america was lost because of some ignorant south americans.
he dicided to move onto plan B, a request to assist the Soviets in their space program. He went to the comm room and started sending a message to moscow.
"To the Mighty RSFSR,
The UCMS would like to aid you in your reach for the stars. we have a semi-developed space program already and would like to pay back russia for the weapons it sold to us during our great civil war. Not only that, but we too condemn the PAC for its massacre of Soviet people at St. Petersburg and want to help beat them in the space race. Hopefully, we can also progress together in several other "issues" in the future.

hopefully, parrion thought, the Soviets would understand the lastpart of the message for a military alliance in the future to possibly aquire both the UCMS and the RSFSR more territory

The King of Great Britain and All her Empires sleep quietly in a chair as on the holoscreen in front of him he watched old footage of the Revolt in the Falkands, it had always cheered him up before. Now he barely could keep his eyes open as the warships sunk escaping patrol boats with various cannons. The double doors opened behind him and Peter Summerton slipped in with two Royal Marines.

"Your Majesty they have agreed the PAC are allowing us to draw the plans. They will be doing the grunt work as is fiting for such an upstart of a nation." Summerton flipped on the lights which were a light green, supposedly reduced headaches although the King doubted it when he awoke to the soft but always threatening face of Summerton above him.

"Oh...Yes space thingy yes quite. Good is Cambridge aware of the situation?"

"Yes, they have already started updating the files we had in 2050 it will be very modern I'm told. Supposedly easy to construct too although with space craft...." Summerton smiled and the king smiled realising not for the first time that this man ran the country and his life.

"Oh yes, your Grace are the rockets up from Bristol yet, we'll be needing them?"

"Strange that you should mention but we believe the Asians actually want plans for an armed vessel. Strange how easily they trust us, strange but convinient."

The KIng sighed and flicked off the monitor as the Union Jack was rising over the Atlantic, "This is your show Peter just do it well."The Duke then bowed and left the room with the marines who had stood menacingly next to the door. A near by train took him to Cambridge University within the hour. Once there overenthusiastic scientists showed him designs of sleek hulled warships....'Yes warships, what would the world do if it had minds like these.' Soon after when Summerton was viewing some of the older relics of space travel chemically propelled rockets, with electromagnetic tips arrived from Bristol. These of course would be gifts to the PAC.

Around one in the morning the Duke stepped out and called for his train which had it's own sleeper car. He smiled, which he did a lot but never like this 'The Asians will pay dearly for this. Of course so will any other nation wishing to have a space program, then I'll have my fun.'

3 Weeks later the plans which only needed slight updating could be sent, along with a team of 40 scientists the HMS Repulse and the rockets. The plans were good a foreign doctor noted as he was allowed to view them from a London military base "Very Good....Why haven't you built them yet?"

Xu sat contemplatively in his imperial office, looking at an ancient picture of the construction of the Great Wall. Well, China had expanded far beyond that Great Wall...now to bigger and better things. A leading Superpower.
The offer from Quebec was slightly intriguing. The Quebec people had been barely noticeable as a nation the past three quarters century, as had Canada itself. It was as if the entire North American continent had disappearned until the Americans intervened on the Argentinians. But the Quebec people had a chance to be something, Xu believed...just maybe.
He quickly wrote up a friendly message to send back to Quebec.

President Johanne Pierre:

It had been a month since the announcement of the Golden Sun Initiative. The solar factories had been started in Syria, Egypt, and Jordan. Also Lebanon, Egypt, Afghanistan, Yemen, and Jordan had signed on the Second Green Revolution, eager to improve their agricultural infrastructure. Indiastan and the Ottoman Confederacy waited patiently buying politicians, identifying who would side with them in the armed forces, and quietly cultivating the more moderate mullahs should the countries decide to go over to the allied Ottoman Confederacy and Indiastan.

Upon recieving the PAC's reply, Johanne was deeply relieved. Though the UK had declined any cooperation and leveled severe accusations on his nation, the PAC would be willing to cooperate. Calling in his Director of Technology, he spoke with him about what to do about the technicians and scientists on the q-mechs. He agreed that they would bring the completed prototype to the UCMS arms fair to show the PAC, but would not send plans or employees until relations had become more stable. Xu thought about the Quebec's message for some time when it was recieved. It seemed a bit vague, and would they really be stupid enough to show off the mech at the arms fair? That seemed to be just an oppurtunity for potential aggression. Quebec would be playing themselves right into the hands of the Indiastan-Ottoman alliance, the PAC, the Soviets, the Americans, and the other smaller factions...
Either way, he figured he needed a message to send back, without the UK noticing what he was up to...

A class 1 encryption was nothing to mess around with. Programmed with the specifics to the Quebec intelligence hive, if intercepted by another, the message would refuse to open, and attempts at breaching would kill the message entirely.
As for the message content, Xu was sure this would ensure that a) the Quebec people would consider the warning and be tempted into hanging on to the technology, therefore keeping it safe, b) not display it at the armsw fair, limiting its knowledge so the PAC could wrap it as a surprise.

On the flag are the golden lion of Asoka, the blue cross of Greece, and the Ottoman crescent. There is a new unveiling of the symbol at a ceremony proclaiming the second golden age. The flag is made of home spun cotton in the Indian tradition. The ceremony also proclaims the formation of the Council of the Three Faiths designed to deal with religious reconciliation.

The United Health Organization begins a push to strengthen the "Ranks of the Fit", the home grown fitness organization to include traditional Turkish wrestling, Greek pancratian, and Indian stick fighting. Also team sports like cricket, hockey, and soccer are introduced. The military also begins to sponsor the "Ranks" offering those especially fit a "chance to join the army."

On a warm sunny day in Mid July, the Indians begin to build a platform near the coastal waters. It is very quickly constructed in approximately three days. A strange construct starts rising from the platform, a set of interconnected blimps. This reaches a very high altitude. Attached to the platform are a series of cables. The cables pull taught at the high altitude.

Robotic lifters start climbing the cables to the high altitude airship platform. They are carrying a special extraatmospheric blimp called an ascender. The ascender is a blimp with a new super heated ion engine designed to pierce the upper atmosphere. It uses a new kind of capacitor which allows much greater heat to be generated by the ion engines as well as a new outer aeroshell made of a fullerene composite.

The ascender is filled with gas on the platform and its ion engines are charged. More cables are attached to the ascender. It will slowly rise for two days piercing the upper atmosphere. At the top it will stop in LEO. Cables will stretch from the ascender to the upper atmospheric platform forming a space elevator.

Robotic lifters are sent up to the ascender. They contain inflatable habitat modules. A space platform is built. The ascender releases from the platform slowly drifting back to earth.

On a warm day, Nehru Khan and Mehmed Pasha proclaim a great day for their united nation and a great step forward for mankind. They show an Indian astronaut, a Greek astronaut, and a Turkish astronaut working together in the station.

OOC: This combines four separate groups of technology, The Airship to Orbit by JP Aerospace, the Arkema process of making carbon nanotubes, the Liftport space elevator, and the Bigelow Aerospace inflatable space habitat module.

OOC: what would happen, for instance, if terrorists or an enemy military destroyed the tether? would the counterweight get sucked into earths atmosphere? and space debris is everywhere. does it have defense against the debris?

Several small high altitide blimps have started floating out of the near space platform. Some of them look to be a form of communication platform. There is an advertisement, buy Skynet television, internet, and radio. Clear reception, long distance communication.

OOC: There are a few defenses. A no fly zone, a sea border around the installation. This is a slightly different design. The airship platform is in high altitude, near space, attacking it with normal airplanes would be fairly hard. There is more than one cable in case one of them snaps. It is a slightly different design. The top part the station is the counterweight. There would have to be some method of letting go of the cable in case it snapped. The high altitude airship platform could also function without the cable. It would probably be a mess if it was attacked by a foreign power. It might be able to handle a terrorist attack though. I would think of this as a captive balloon design more than a counterweight. Either two or four cables would direct the location of the high and low station. The cables would take robotic lifters up and down to the two platforms.

Delegates were meeting in Ankara capital of the Ottoman Confederacy to hammer out the details of union between Indiastan and the Ottoman Confederacy.

Delegates had flown in and were arriving at the new Royal Hotel where they would stay for the convention. The new flag was to be presented and details hashed out between the different political parties on how to join the two countries togethere.

The city of Ankara was overflowing with tourists. The new convention center was a gleaming example of the new technology and abilities of the union. It incorporated solar glass, solar roof tiles, regenerative fuel cells in the basement, and a system of wind turbines built into the top of the facade sending excess energy back into the grid. Some called it, "The Tower of Power."

The convention hall was huge, "Nehru Khan was giving a speech. My friends we are here today to celebrate the union of our two countries into a new republic which will shake the world. We represent a new wave for the future. A hope for the black, brown, red, yellow, and dusky peoples of the world who have too long sat under the heel of imperialism, colonialism, unfair trade and poverty.
