Pockets of subspace popped in and out of existance furiously as small asteriods were sent God-knows-where as bolts of light struck them. Exotic particles streamed out an put a massive dent in space-time.

The entire electromagnetic spectrum flowed out of the tear, as pionium and muonium decayed into various products flooding sensors and a screaming beacon for anyone in the sector.

A single probe attached to a tether moved through the tear and began scanning the area.

And then it stayed there, for its 3 week mission.

The probe began transmitting the standard hailing frequency for friendly ships amoung the tribes. No response, and it continued scanning, programmed to transmit again in a week.

Another transmission, and the probe retracted a bit on the tether.

"Odd?"
"What's odd?"
"Something strange is registering on the sensors, and there seems to be a transmission being sent out of the strange."
"And regulations insist we investigate. Damn, we were one jump from that pleasure bar."
"You and your hedonism."
"Don't tell me you don't like interfacing with a hot system."
With a groan at the jab, the FlyJ re-oriented to go investigate the abnormality.

A short while later, it re-entered normal space and began looking for the transmission beacon or ship, if that's what was sending the signal, and gathering data on the abnormal region of space.

The probe abruptly stopped and the tether detached and it floated free in space. It sent a burst MASER transmission back into the field long before the Theao ship came within EM sensor range.

The field began to stabilize and the exotic particles decayed rapidly into protons, neutrons and electrons, and soon a visible metal ring was forming, it was 400m in diametre and the ring was nearly complete when the Theao ship would be within EM sensor range.

Soon the field pulsed and changed colours, neutrino emissions skyrocketed and nothing came out. At least nothing visible on the electromagnetic spectrum. However, magnetic sensors would detect an anomaly.

"Interesting."
"Well let's see what is 'interesting'." As the image came on screen, she nodded, "Yes it is interesting."
"More interesting, I'm picking up a magsig, but no visuals."
"So someone's playing cloaky games, you know the drill."
"Procto?"
"Yep, fire up the Procotscope." She replied with a chuckle, using the slang term for the GRD or gravitic resonance device. The initial model was devised to be able to read a planet for mineral deposits and the like, but after a great deal of adjustment, refining and improving, it could pick up the gravity of a grain of sand and was thus useful against most forms of cloaking tech that didn't have extremely efficiant mass-compensators.

Little did they know, gravimetric sensors on the cloaked ship were doing the same.

A small ship, smaller than a frigate uncloaked and sat still. It held 3 Gatling Railguns and held its position as the field pulsed again. Soon more recon ships appeared and various frigates, destroyers and cruisers appeared.

They were armed to the teeth and of similar design. Missile and Rocket hardpoints along with railguns protruded from the sides. Soon another cynoaural field appeared and it began to decay into a gate. But this one was different, it was 50 kilometres wide and more cruisers poured out of the first gate.

The new gate was a third of the way done when the fleet stopped pouring out.

A transmission was sent: "We are the Caldari Race of the Glorious Republic, our timeless exile from this sector is over, show us the planet we once called home, Terra or Earth, if the plague has ended. We mean no harm."

45 Ibis-class Corvettes

10 Condor-class Frigates

As the message began running throught the translator and the fleet began appearing, the sole crew member commented, "Either they're out to go to war, are seriously overcompensating or are planning one hell of a welcome party."
"Seems that way, the trans thinks it's got the message but it odd-balled."
"Let's hear it."

After listening to the translation, she replied, "You're right it is odd-balled. Oh well, send them back: I can not show you Terra or Earth as this ship is not equipped to do so. There is no plague presently ravaging Earth, and while claims of peace are nice, they are not usually sent from a fleet.

ooc: Gone for the night

OOC: Same here.

"We have no idea whether things are still friendly and the Caldari believe never to undercompensate and to ensure the safety of our interests. On behalf of the CONCORD Alliance, the four united races, and all the races of the Glorious Republic of Leftant'tan'land we declare our intent to present no harm to friendly parties. If you cannot show us where Terra or Earth is, but you know of no plague, we have many gifts to those who do show us our ancestral home and to find the original Leftant'tan'land and see if our Glorious Father's Temple is still there on the Al-ganistan Strip Island, the final location of Glorious Ascension and the end of our ten thousand year searches."

The Fleets weapons weren't online and no target locks had been engaged, and the ships had adopted the classic defensive stance, with Corvettes and Frigates forming the outer shell and Cruisers within.

A single cargo container containing 50,000 m^3 of extremely pure Tritanium, worth around $350,000 credits at current market rates.

"It's thier diction and sentance structure that's odd-balled, guess the translator's having a bit of a problem with thier language."
"Seems that way."

We can tell you where it is, relative to our present position or it's position relative to the galactic core, but can not show you a visual simulation of Earth. If you have been gone ten-thousand terrestial years, it is quite likely that your temple shall no longer remain even if you find the island you are looking for.

"It's thier diction and sentance structure that's odd-balled, guess the translator's having a bit of a problem with thier language."
"Seems that way."

OOC: The language is broadcast as thought-waves, entire ideas and things. You'll be surprised to learn that there is only one pilot per ship all under the command of a single group of linked pilots light years away via an adjutant. Language amoung pilots has disappeared.

"Then broadcast these locations, and take the tritanium as payment. We shall go to Terra and find the temple."

The gate was nearing completion and the smaller field was now spewing out mining barges and more Condors. They began to use mining lasers, slicing ore from the asteriods in the Belt.

The gate began to pulse as it neared completion and and fleet dispersed around it.

The first thing that emerged from the enourmous gate was a relatively tiny device. It was a floating sentry gun, and carried a powerful shield and filled with 150mm Railguns (6). Soon more poured out as the gate was on its last 1 km.

"Leave us, do not even gaze upon what will emerge nor stand within 40 km of the gate."

"Alright, they're relinuts."
"Seems like they are a bit focused on religion."
"I mean come on, what this 'don't stand within fourty kilometers of the gate', unless thier gate grows exponetially larger, we'll never come that close to it. And thier 'don't look back' shtick."
"They do seem to have an odd way of looking at things."

Due to certain reasons, we shall not be transmitting the requested co-ordinates, nor are we interested in nor able to take your offering. Have a nice day.

With the the FlyJ distanced itself a goodly ways, but not so thier own sensors couldn't watch the events unfold.

"We are disappointed, we'll have to rely on old maps. You may still take the ore, it has been long since we have encountered anyone not of the races, we thank you for your kindness."

The gate was completed and released a massive burst of light in all spectrums and exotic particles banged against the now boosted sheilds of the Caldari ships. The gate pulsed repeatedly and what appeared to be one of the many asteriods in the belt seems to have passed through the gate.

But this asteriod glowed, and pulsed, it was 20 km wide and 15 km tall, filled with life signs and accompanying it were 2 5km long ships with massive centermounted weapons and surrounded by battleships and dreadnaughts.

"Our colony ships are here, we will settle in this belt and mine the ice from the nearby planets for support. If you aren't blinded by the EM flood, and can still here us, we welcome you to set up an embassy with us. Welcome to New Caldari."

"Interesting light show."
"Yep, and nice sized vessels."

We are not suited to set up an embassy, but we shall contact our authorities for them to decide.

"Yep, and nice sized vessels."

"Note us on starmaps as New Caldari, this planet and this belt are now our land."

Recon ships powered up their warp drives and flew off toward a nearby binary star system. A 1 km wide gate began to form where the gravity waves made constructive interference.

The FlyJ didn't reply as it disappeared. Theao only viewed a nation as holding space when there were actually ships or people present, outside of those two restrictions all of space was public domain and open to mining, studying and harvesting.
