Breaking news!

A new fighter design has been created by the Douglas Aerospace company in the Copen Protectorate, and they have called for suppliers for certain parts. This answer has come from the nation of Nova Boozia, who will be providing supplies, weapons, and electrical equipment necessary to make the fighter come to fruition. Due to this enormous contribution, Nova Boozia has been given joint production rights of the Excalibur III.

The fighter itself is classed as a heavy fighter, but the design allows the craft itself to outclass the lightest of fighters, making even the TIE Advanced X-1 seem like a poor design. It has also been scaled down to make the fighter more compact than its predecessors, allowing for better storage on carriers.

The Excalibur III has also been denoted as a Multi-role fighter type along with the heavy fighter classification due to the fighter being capable of anti-fighter and anti-ship duties. When the Excalibur III is mounted with a pair of twenty milimeter autocannons, the fighter is designated to fighter-to-fighter combat duties, although it may also serve as a light-hitter on capital ships due to its proton torpedo launcher. When armed with the lascannon, the fighter is then designated to a capital-ship puncher role. Although it has gained this added bonus, the fighter loses considerable maneuverability, making it more vulnerable to enemy fighters. However, once the lascannon's power supply has run out, both the cannon and the external generator may be ejected to allow the fighter its full maneuverability.

ooc: Indeed..But it's liberally copied, stats et all, from Wing Commander 4..

Only half of it. I've been using the Excalibur series since I became an FT nation, and I made a II that was only faster.

I didn't change anything else other than what other weapons it could mount, what the armour is, and how maneuverable and fast it is.

Apologies aren't necessary, although they are noted and accepted.

The MIGHTY Blub Colony would like to purchase some of these fightercraft. Our colony is small and does not have much money, so we will purchase only 20 of them. This totals 5 billion dollars.

The Coredian chapter of Incom Corporation wishes to purchase production rights to this new fighter plus a "prototype" squadron of 12 fighters. We are sure it would make a great addition to our starfighter corps.

153 billion wired upon confirmation.

Douglas Aerospace thanks you for your business, and twenty Excalibur IIIs, configured to the Blub physiology, have been loaded onto a bulk freighter and tesserected to your colony's orbit, about 200,000 kilometers from the space station in orbit of the colony.

Douglas Aerospace thanks you for your business, and will send you the production rights for half the standard price. A bulk freighter has also been loaded with twelve Excalibur IIIs and has been tesserected into orbit around the planet that your corporation is located.

That would be excellent.

76.5 billion have been wired and the bulk freighter has been sent to Sparta.
