November 2006: Wouter Bos of the PvdA is chosen as the new Minister-President, in a government with the CDA.
2007: Dutch troops retreat from Afghanistan after heavy losses in an Uruzgan Capaign; 60 killed, 170 wounded. Government decides to cancel the JSF project after 30 aircraft have been ordered, and decides to buy the Eurofighter Typhoon.
2007: A boy is born in the Royal Family, the son of Crown prince Willem-Alexander and Princess Maxima is named after his grandfather, Klaus.
2008: The CBS reports an improving Economy; the stock markets are on the same level as in the 90's, and still rising.
2009: Aircraft contructor Fokker, which had gone in the 90's, arises from it's ashes with help from several investors, which "promote Homeland economy". In the same year, they buy DAF trucks from PACCAR, and aid Nedcar with financial aid and production opportunities.
2009: the Dutch military in the Caribbean is placed on a higher alert because of the death of Fidel Castro.
2010: The Police captures the last remains of the Hofstadgroep, a terroristic organization with ties to Al-Queda. All suspects get imprisonment of at least 4 years. Wouter Bos and his PvdA are elected again, this time working together with the liberal VVD.
2011: Nedcar presents it's new plans: it will produce a mid-range sportscar for Spyker, and a new range of truck engines for DAF.
2012: The last Dutch F-16's are staged out and sold to various South-European and South-American nations. The Dutch Navy starts planning, due to the power of the economy, for a light aircraft carrier and two destroyers, vague plans also exist for a bigger brother to the Walrus-class Diesel-Electric Submarines, which could possibly be nuclear-powered.
2013: The Dutch Airforce starts looking for a successor to the Cougar-helicopters, while the Apache is planned to be replaced in 2020. The Army sells all it's remaining Leopard I tanks to Luxembourg, whiel buying new Leopard II tanks from Germany. The Navy has found a new alternative for their P-3 Orions disposed 10 years ago: several Breguet Atlantiques will be hired from France while awaiting a new model to be launched by Fokker.

2014: The Dutch Government protests with both the Israelian and Iranian government, but backs down as soon as both Israelian and Iranian supporters start protesting in Amsterdam, The Hague and Rotterdam. Heavy riots result in 22 wounded protestants and 2 wounded Police Officers.
2014: The Centraal Bureau voor de Statistiek (CBS, Central Bureau of Statistics) reports positively about the current Dutch society: The Average salary has gone up by 10%, while prices have only risen by 1%. There are more students at university than ever before, while less people are homeless or without a job, or do not finish school; The predictions have never been better.
2015: The last Eurofighter Typhoon has been delivered. The last JSF is planned to be delivered in December. The Dutch Airforce buys three additional A400M transport aircraft, while also accepting several medium transport aircraft from Fokker into service. Project N2020 starts: the hulls of a CVL, two DDG's and an SSGN are laid down at several Dutch yards. The first delivery, a destroyer, is to be made in 2020. The second destroyer is planned for 2021, while both the CVL and the SSGN will be commisioned in 2023.
2017: The Turkish minority in the Netherlands requests that the Dutch Army takes action in the Caucasus conflict, the Government refuses, sparking a small-scale strike.
2018: Fokker jet aircraft make their first test flight; one C-130 Hercules is lost while dropping food supplies for civilians over the Caucasus conflict area in a secret operation. The 2 pilots make it safely to Turkey, but the loadmaster dies in the crash. The Dutch airforce buys a new Heavy turboprop Fokker aircraft to replace the lost Hercules. The other Hercules is staged out later that year, to be replaced by another Heavy turboprop Fokker.
2018: A small-scale group of Israelian refugees go back to their country to aid in the nation's defence; The Intelligence Agency AIVD refuses to comment on the rumours that they would have sent the refugees back, while the immigration service IND hastily removes the Dutch nationality from the refugees' passports.
2018: the current Government is elected again, with Laetitia Griffith as Minister-President.
2019: A Dutch frigate of the Zeven-Provincieën-Class, the HrMs De Ruyter, sinks in the Red Sea after a missile attack. It is still unknown from which side the missile came. 31 sailors die, while a British Royal Navy ship assists in the evacuation of the sinking De Ruyter. The Dutch Navy initiates plans to construct a third and fourth destroyer.
2019: Queen Beatrix suddenly dies of a heart attack, Prins Willem-Alexander is crowned King, while the Netherlands celebrates since the most opular member of the Royal House, the Argentinian Princess Maxima, becomes Queen.
2020: The Dutch Airforce accepts a Jet-powered trainer from Fokker into service. The Technical University Delft develops a new missile project, LGR-1. The first Destroyer, boasting Stealth Technology, is christened the Hr. Ms. Beatrix, in honour of the previously died Queen. The dates for the third and fourth destroyers have been set for late 2025. A second SSGN is also planned for 2026.

2023: The Hr. Ms. Vinvis, a Nuclear powered Cruise Missile Submarine, is christened and put into service, followed half a year later by the Hr. Ms. Regent, a Light Carrier.
2023: An influx of refugees from Turkey is reported by the IND. The Government decides that they are welcome, since the Dutch population has been decreasing since a while.
