Also, this is a history that does not include the Koreas or China, as soon as someone writes their histories, I'll revise mine.

2006Shinzo Abe is elected as Prime Minister of Japan. With help from the United States. Japan sets up a conprehensive free healthcare/social security system.

2016Two American soldiers are found to have murdered a four year old girl on her way home from school. Though they are prosecuted and convicted by an American military court, the murder enflames the views that America's defense should not begin with Japan.
2017Saiyo Kimizi is elected as Prime Minister of Japan. His first action as Prime Minister, with the blessing of the National Diet, closed almost 2/3 of American military bases in Japan.
2020Japan officially offers an apology to China and the Koreas for war crimes in World War II. No compensation is made, however.

Strike the Kurils, I'm not changing borders until the RP officially starts. Other than that, the history is fine. As for the military...

That dwarfs the PLA! Article 9 or none, Japanese people aren't rushing to enlist like that, and conscription on that sort of scale would not at all be met well in any way. Especially in Japan. Scale it down, please! This isn't II, you probably don't even need a whole number percentage in your military.

Fixed.

And sorry about the military thing, I compared the numbers between the JSDF and the Imperial Military...you can probably guess which one I based the former numbers on.
