Idea: A fun, character driven fantasy battle RP w/o godmodding and with good writing.
Background: The city of Durnham in the World Edge mountains has long been coveted by the many races of the world. It is an important trade city between the Dwarfs and men, and it's population is a mixture of both. It does not fall under the dominion of the Empire, nor the Dwarfish kingdom, but is loyal to both. It is not Durnham's trade wealth or diversity that make it so desirable, however. Nestled between two mighty peaks, the metropolis is surrounded on three sides by impassible mountains. It is accessable only through a lush, pine forested valley that is easily protected. The city's one vunerable side is defended by high Dwarfish walls topped by cannons, bowmen, and handgunners. Not suprisingly, the envious eyes of Chaos look to Durnham as an excellent stronghold while the lunatic captians of the Orc tribes plan an exciting Waaagh! to be waged on the city. The foul Skaven, always plotting against their dwarfish enemies, see oppurtunity as well. The Empire and Dwarfs each want to protect the key metropolis, but each wants to exert more control over the city than the other.
Plot: War comes to Durnham as a Chaos champion gathers an army and marches south on the city. Sensing opportunity, the Skaven and Orcs each gather their own armies while the Dwarfs and Empire scramble to protect the metropolis... however they each wish to exert sole control over the city. The defenders of Durnham wish to remain independant from either power, and be rid of the beasts that attack them.
Each RPer will RP as an army (or a member of an army, if you wish), I will serve as GM in the beginning, but then let the war take its course.
