Uldarious

Valusharr Peninsula, Northern Uldarious, 6:00 AM.
It was still early in the morning but the construction crews were already hard at work.
Tamar Vauss ran a hand through his greying hair and sighed deeply with relief, he was a big man with dark skin, similar scences were apparent across the borders of the nation.
From distances of fifty to two-hundred kilometres inland from Uldarious' rocky shoreline cliffs Dominator class rail cannons were being set up.
It had been only a few days since the first transport ships had arrived, from the nation of Dephire;a fellow member of the GASN, but already the land had been made ready and some of the mammoth cannons had been set up, ready to fire upon anything that seemed a threat to the motherland.
"Damn, how long before the all cannons will be able to run?" He asked the much smaller figure by his side.
Secilian Varaan was a sharp-faced woman, one that might have been called pretty by some, and she replied with a brisk voice. "Hard to say, Omori said power would have to be transferred from Talshara Falls and Mount Gholzar untill the new power stations are finished. But who knows how long that could take, I would say it will be months before the entire thousand are accomodated for, but count yourself lucky, you don't have to fly across the entire nation every week to make sure everyone is keeping pace."
Tamar rubbed a hand through his beard, it was true, the defence networks were no part of his responsibility, of that he was glad.
"Still the Chairman demands the Great Shield to be up to effective strength within a month, but I must wonder why the deadline is so short. Alexance is rarely one for dealing with failure though, if I were you I'd add an extra jump to your hop." Tamar smiled as he finished.
Secilian met his gaze with a flat look, for her it was not a matter to smile about.
"It is understandable, he worries over events in the GASN and sees the need to provide extra reinforcement to our defence networks. We're already protected from an aerial assault with the Hydra Network in place, and this Great Shield Network; when it is completed, should leave us nigh on impossible to attack from the sea. As it stands if progress continues as it has by the end of the month I'll have two dozen Dominator's in each sector."
Tamar shrugged and spoke in his bass voice. "Who knows if that'll please Alexance, it should, but then again if it doesn't and we get put to the test that should still be enough to maim the enemy good and proper."
Eastern Uldarious, Lorsha's Prominence, 9:00 AM
Omori Aegin shuddered as a cold blast of wind hit him, he was a tall man, lean and cold with bright green eyes and honey toned skin.
"Reroute twelve percent of the energy from Taical Valley to cannon's number three and seven. Don't worry, that has fifteen percent excess energy in it. Cannon number six needs three needs eight percent more energy, that can come from Ulseval's Springs."
One of the two aids with him bowed formally and left with a stuttered "yes Director". Being the Director of Energy it was Omori's responsibility if all the cannons weren't fully powered, fortunately he would make it. He was cutting it very fine but with all the new plants being constructed more energy would come online just as it was needed to power the cannons.
Like all the Directors Omori was in the habit of checking on and fine-tuning the work of his charges, really there was rarely any need for him to leave Crytosis Ulth, but whenever he was present men worked harder and occaisionally he did catch people falling behind in their work, the regular tours were good policy.
"Next to Mount Haphanon, we need to make sure construction is going soundly then to Norshala..." Omori continued as he walked out the door.
(OOC: Basically this is just so everyone knows I'm doing this, in case you haven't picked up on this the Great Shield Network is a series of Dephire's Dominator Class Rail Cannons, among other cannons, designed principally as an effective counter to naval assaults.
