Gladiator sign-up
Colonial Continents

I'm starting a gladiator thread but the the thing is, it's not man VS. Man or Beast VS. Man, it's army versus army. Limits are:
Nation population has to be at least 500 million.
Applies to Modern and Future Tech levels.
Infantry Only
It's a fight to the death. What, did you think I was going to let you spare someone?
Thats it.
Fighting takes place in a 200 mile stretch of desert with only one way in or out, you win you get out, you lose you die. Winners take home the spoils of war from any defeated enemy.

Might be interesting. Sure why not.
Any other limits as to army size, etc?

Large as you want, rules of warfare do not apply. Be merciless and KILL!

Alright. If you and me go at it, then shall we fight in the Future Tech realm? I am tied up in the MT-PMT realms.

Actually, I'm going to be moderator. But if not enough people sign up, then yeah, we'll go at each other. My nation is FT as well.

Heavy Bolter (Two man operated heavy machine gun)

Autocannon: (rapid-fire heavy weaponry designed to eliminate heavy unarmored infantry or light vehicles, and are often used by Imperial Guard heavy weapons teams in battle, due to its versatility and reliability. Serves as a Squad Automatic Weapon)
Missile Launcher (Fires Frag or Krak rockets to destroy either infantry or armored units)
PPR-1 (Plasma Pulse Rifles are plasma using assault rifles, with 100 round battery packs)
Field Skin: (The Field Skin is a living organism, created in the Wanderjarian Laboratory. It provides insulation, and recirculates moisture, keeping the wearer comfortable in all climates. It also provides a small measure of protection against enemy rounds.)
Legionnaire Armor: Standard armor, resistant to both slug and laser rounds.

Field Helmet: Amplifies sound and visual abilities through its Heads Up Display, which is operated by the user via a mouth receptor. It also has numerous sight functions such as normal, Infrared, and Night Vision, and can detect any enemy forces using similar helmet systems or communication devices)

It has no plot, and no point... If this were an FPS, that would be fine. But this is freeform RP.

Sure it has a point! Two armies on a field of battle. Which army is has the better tactics to defeat the other. Very much like the famous book "The Defense of Duffers Drift" or its Modern day counter part "The Defense of Hill 781"

I see you're confused. Ok. Defense of Duffers Drift was a book by a veteran of the Boer War. He was a British Officer. Anyway, this British Officer in the novel is new in the Army, and is faced with a battle with the experianced Boers, in order to defend a pass at a river. He loses the first battle, but learns a lesson from it. Then he fights them again later, loses, but learns a new lesson he didn't know before. Finally, he loses five times, but uses all the lessons he's learned to finally win a collossal victory the sixth time, making up for the five times he lost by far.
A great book, but really hard to come by. It's extremely wierd Modern Counter Part, Defense of Hill 781 is easier to get, its just that its.....wierd.

That's different. This is a plotless land battle, those books are about learning from mistakes and perserverance, not kicking the crap out of the enemy...

Well, this guys new to RPing, so he'll be learning tactical manuvers out on "Hells Battlefield" as he calls it. Kinda like his Duffers Drift.
Hell, maybe he'll even beat me!

Hell you bet I'll beat ya'! Hells battlefield is the trainging ground for my marines so expect some spectators. Oh yeah and I forgot the armour specs.
Titan Mark IV commando armour.
Helmet: Visor has several view modes, Night Vision, Heat sensor, and standard. Also is equiped with sonic scrubbers and automatic light tinting. (Basically a flash bang would have to be right underneath them to work.)
Armour: Trimantium alloy complete with limited shields. ( shields can only soak up at most 100 EPR)
Under Armour: Powered body suit, regulates body temperature, supplies nutrients, water etc. also increases strength because of its powered armour basis.
And heres the troop revisions.
All units are equiped with multi-detonation gernades. (Timed delay, impact and Flash) Plus the rifles can be loaded with one gernade at a time, turning it into an RPG launcher.

I'm going to assume then that you're infantry cannot move quickly, with all that armor?

It's an alloy and it's light. (Like titanium)
