A War of Somewhat Epic Proportions (Sort of)

On this day, the 19th of Grumple, Frunberry's League of Elders have given the command to invade.

The target?

...

FRANBERRY.

------

On the south shores of the region of Haven, and elite tactical force arrives by cover of night, on a boat that is made of material said to be woven of the night itself. These men and women have been trained from birth to think of nothing but their objective. They are mere deadly tools, their only purpose to strike deadly and decisive blows into enemy territory.

Farmer Johnson, a Franberry heretic, says to his wife, in their strange heathen dialect. "Well dere Margie, what ye think them fellers in black be's up to?"

"Not a clue, Marty, but its best we stay out of their way."

The soldiers approach the farmhouse deliberately and without mercy. With two quick shots they dispose of the fearsome black and white beasts that turn to them with their terrifying pink eyes.

"THEMS JUST GONE SHOT THE COWS, MARGIE, I'M GONNA GIT EM!"

As the soldiers ride away from the farm, minutes later, sillhouetted in the flames of the barn, they consider their objective. Shouldn't be too hard, they reckon.

"THE COWS, THEM GONE AN' SHOT THE COWS" The voice from the telephone screamed

"We understand sir, we'll be there immediately"

The policemen ran out of the station, and jumped onto their bycicles.
They pedalled fast and hard, the farmhouse getting closer and closer. They saw the flames soon enough. The police slowed were a congregation of farmers had come to see what the commotion is about.

"Dismount men, we'll advance with the farmers from the communal farm."

The Police moved down the road and down it's flanks, the farmers shortly behind, clumped up and wielding pichforks and hunting rifles.

They saw the farmers come down the road, brandishing pitchforks and torches. And in the front, strange round men dressed in blue, riding some sort of strange two-wheeled contraptions, the capabilities of which were mysterious and frightening. They weren't trained for this. They understood how to disarm and annihalate large amounts of heavily armed men, capture a fortified building and break through any security, but they weren't prepared for this. They didnt know how to handle people. They retreated into the darkness, and it was almost like they were never there. Few people know what goes on in the Elite training camps, and fewer still want to know.

-------
'Your graces, I'm afraid I have some... undesirable news. The elite team panicked, and fled into the depths of the Franberrian forest. It is said they were last heard from somewhere in the far western region, far away from any source of civilisation."

The elders grumbled; one of them belched quietly. Words are very important to the people of Frunberry. It is believed they hold great power. People come and go, words stay the same.

"I won't stand for it!" Said the eldest elder, "Do you know how close A is to U?! It's only 4 vowels away, goddamnit. I want these heathens eradicated, they're stealing our IDENTITY!"

"With all due respect your grace, they are a decidedly large nation. It may be considered, hypothetically of course, a... foolish strategical move, strategically speaking, to attack."

The elder reached under the desk and pressed a button. Nothing happened. The messenger looked slightly embarrassed.

"What happened to the trapdoor into the pit of fire?" said the elder.

"They're not being installed till next week, your honour." replied the man.

"Well... Look, talk to the dungeon keeper on the way out and see if he can't take care of you."

"Very good, your grace." The man quickly left the room.

Damn, this meant only one thing was left. The ARMY had to be mobilised.

The Policemen stumbled down the road. They shone flashlights into the darkness, and the farmers started searching the crops.

"There's noone here" The lead policeman said, but maybe, they could find something.

One of his comrades rode up to him in a bicycle, "Commandah, they must'm dropped this" The policeman held out what seemed to be cloth, his superior grabbed it.

"This is a piece of uniform, I want this sent to headquarters! now!"
The policemen rode away, leaving the farmers to clean up the area.

Hours later...
Franberrian Intelligence Ministry Headquarters
"Yes, we just recieved it, it seems to be a shouldern patch, its been torn on a branch. No, thats all the police found. There were no other traces, yes, the patch. It seems to be from Frunberry. Yes, that little country that replaced the A in our name with a U. I know they're idiots, well, yes sir."
---------

The higher-ups in the goverment found this funny, its not like a puny nation of 5 million could do anything...

... "Mobilize the full army. Yes, all 4 million. I want a shutdown on all national sectors not required for survival. No, not the toothpaste sector, I said NOT required! Yes. Good." The commander hung up his cup and string.

The average height of a Frun male is 4'11" (Source: National Census, 12 Fruntober, 1909). The army was packed onto boats and shipped to the southern shore of Franberry, where they disembarked to find minor resistance from the local peasantry. This was soon quelled, and they began to march on the capital.

"WHAT DO YOU MEAN THEIR ENTIRE ARMY? How did they get past our navy? Landed without oposition? WTF? mobilize all troops in the area, we will destroy them!"
-------
In the immediate area were the invasion had occurred, there were some 600,000 troops. All were put on alert and directed towards the invading forces. A large semi-circle would be put around the invading army. Seeing as how the area was flat farm-land, the invasors would be easy prey.

In the air, the 2nd Air fleet mobilized, 20,000 planes launched simoultaneously, in an effort to cripple the Frunberrians. 16,000 attack planes would be covered by 4,000 interceptors, although there was no evidence of any Frunberrian air force.

The navy also moved to cut the water line between Franberry and Frunberry, and to blockade the puny country.
