The ship's Frieslander pilot flicked on a recorded message in Sephriothan, confirming the instructions, as he eased the Wrath down into the upper atmosphere. So far, the operation was going precisely according to plan.

That couldn't last.

As the troop ship sunk ever lower, the smaller landing boats began to break off and make for targets highlighted on the map supplied by the unit's employers, the troops within becoming increasingly nervous as they checked and re-checked their equipment and plans.

Troops scattered widely, attemping to outflank enemy firebases, attack C3I facilities, cut supply lines, and cause general mayhem as significant task forces landed as close to the Primarch's holding area as possible and attempted to batter their way through.

The airborne troops dropped on all sides, a few squads remaining airmobile to act as bait, pulling out enemy patrols to be ambushed and then dealt with by automatic and anti-tank weapons. The battalion assigned to the extraction advances as quickly as possible through the corridors, teams holding positions just long enough for the main groups to pass by.

The fleet moved closer to the planet and on the bridge of the lead ship the Alexanderia General Maltovic was standing ready for battle. When one of his officers said "They are arming there space defences sir, They will rip us apart." "Well then tell the fleet to stop and stay out of there range of weapones and lets send them a message" the General responded.
