just a short question. Noting important just someting I was wondering about.
what does PMT means? I come to that it means one of two.
1) Past modern tec
2) Pre modren tec
but if it means past modern tec you could just write FT (future teck) and if it means pre modern teck you could write PT? or?

ooc: It stands for Post-Modern tech, and is usually viewed as between 20-50 years in the future(or at least that's my understanding of it), while FT is much further advanced(Star Wars/Trek, Babalyon 5, Battlestar Galactica, Andromeda, Warhammer 40k, ect)

Generally it is assumed to mean Post Modern Tech are generally reffers to very near future technoligies from a time scale in the 2020-2070 sort of region.

There is a degree of over lap between PMT and Future Tech (FT) most notably where people play "hard science fiction" FT nations ie more Space Odessay than star wars.

FT is such a wide classification that it is generally prefferable to at least try and subdevide it a bit i.e. if you are playing a hard scifi antion with strickly realistic tech you likely won't want to be roleplaying with a 40k tech nation...

Halo is likely FT (interstellar space ships are a good indication of FT, although saying that msot of "human" arsenal in halo isn't hugely advanced).

Killzone i can't comment on as i know nothing about the game, but if the story doesn't involve any space stuff appart from orbital or within our solar system flight then it would fit into PMT if the weapons and general tech are more advanced than anythign we have today or would have in the next 10-15years.

I think Killzone is played in another univers.. or atleast the enemy is ailiens with laser guns so considering your definiatin it's probebly FT.
anyway can you use ailiens in modern teck and post modern Teck?

thank you for that
for what you said then killzone be FT and if i just use the guns which just use bullets i can class them as PMT if i need too and just leave out the FT stuff

Yes. There are Rp that use inter-tech levels(MT vs FT, MT vs PT, ect). A few people have done 'first contact' type Rp where an alien race makes contact with modern humans. There was one going recently(but I can't remember by who/title)
