IC: The past forty years had been boring and uneventful. The people lived a monotonous life, constantly re-electing the same, aging politicians for the top jo bs, working for the state as usual, and doing nothing in the way of national festivals.
However, in just four years time, on the 1st of Fall-Intern (OOC: October for you Gregorian calendar advocates), the 200th anniversary of RK's founding would be celebrated by a huge international concert. This was the sole thing the drudges and drones had to look forward to; a whole day of international music followed by months of minor celebration. It would also celebrate the opening of Theta Acoria, the third Acorian arcology; the concert would occur open-air on the rooftop ampitheatre.
Dr. Nathan Atille, now in his nineties, will likely make his last speech as Human Representative at the concert; he is said to be ailing, and wishes nevertheless to retire after five full terms as Human Chairman.
The concert will begin OOCly on October 2nd - unfortunately I am on a caravan trip on Oct 1st.
